We were thinking of staying here. I e-mailed them and asked the closest airport. The response I got back was "If you own a plane you can fly directly here." The responders made me feel like I was bothering them. We decided not to go here and be stuck in the middle of nowhere with people like this for two weeks.

Upscale B&B resort & worth every Penny. I surprised my wife for our 2nd wedding Anniversary. We walked into the Oscoda room after being greeted by friendly staff, even though it was almost 9:00pm- And found a beautiful updated suite, fabulous balcony with a view of Lake huron, their subtle lights on the garden lighting the boardwalk paths to the beach, only 25 yards away. Champagne & confectionary treats were positioned carefully on the edge of the jacuzzi bath for 2 which we did use (very clean!) You wake up to smell of a delicious breakfast (you choose delivery time of your service the night before) , and it is brought right to your door. Cant say enough about this place. We only had the one night this trip but we will definitely be back, and highly recommend! We forgot our HH insignia champagne flutes so we we'll have to visit again

My wife and I just returned from a little getaway at Huron House. My in-laws bought us a gift certificate for Christmas a couple of years ago and we were finally able to make the time to use it. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to return. We stayed in the Sunrise room which has sweeping and expansive views of Lake Huron. The room is literally probably only 50 feet from the water's edge and it was relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore at night. The room also has a private deck overlooking the shore and although the B&B was full, it felt as if we were the only ones there. The pictures we saw on the web site were perfect representations of the room. The room itself was very large. My wife is a neat freak and the room was immaculate. Breakfast all three days was very good and we arrived back every evening with dessert waiting for us outside of our room. After a day of driving up to Mackinac Island, it was a picturesque ending with a bottle of wine in our private hot tub on our room's deck overlooking the lake. It is too bad for us that Huron House is a 7 hour drive or else this would be our #1 getaway location.

The default on their reservation site is for 2 nights. We arrived and were told we had made 2 reservations and since they have a no cancellation policy, would have to pay more than $700 for a one night stay...they then compromised and put the vacancy on Facebook saying if they re-filled the reservation we would not have to pay the total. We would not have booked 2 nights since we had TC Film Festival plans. We NEVER received an email confirmation from them right up unto 3 days before our stay. Get a confirmation in writing...the place looks beautiful and the beach was great! It is on the main hwy which is under construction! We have a dispute filed through our VISA card for their charges to us.

Absolutely the most romantic Bed and Breakfast! Situated right on the sandy beach - most of the rooms have a view of the lake. You will be greeted by the rising sun every morning... Every morning delicious breakfast will be waiting on a serving table in front of your door. Delicious and also home cooked. Huron House is clean, charming and memorable. A gorgeously landscaped garden is secluded by the few buildings. Decorated with night lights, statues and wooden paths it invites you to the deck by the lake. You can read a book late at night on one of the comfortable chairs, drink your coffee early in the morning or grill for lunch.

The place is absolutely beautiful on the beach by the Lake and gorgeous sunrise in the morning.. B &B is located in the middle no-where. :) with a nice fresh breakfast delivered to your room and a small patio facing the lake. But the B & B is just by the main street with a lot of construction, dust and noise.. Not much around and not even one souvenir store around . Overall experience was good, but my husband mixed up the dates and we arrived a week early, also on the way there we had an accident. I called the place to tell them we will be late due to a car issues and then I found out we can only stay 1 night . Not there fault , but we were charged $40.00 for cancellation. fee. ??? It was an honest mistake and the lady at the front desk said we will be charged $25.00 for the cancelltion of next week.. I was very surprised to see a charge of $40.00 on my CC. Not a very good practice. Not sure if I want to make another trip. Make sure you dont cancel your reservation, beacouse you will be charged. READ well before booking. your trip to Ruron House.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay as a couple. The rooms are large and well maintained. Very comfy beds, although the pillows are kind of hard. If you are used to a soft, squishy pillow, bring yours. Keurig coffeemakers in room, nice size fridges & microwave. Basket of snacks provided included micro popcorn, plus some water bottles. No room phones, but who even needs that any more- we all have our own. Bathrooms have racks of hooks, nice for hanging your swimsuits & towels after a trip to the private hot tub on your private deck. The grounds are beautifully and meticulously groomed. Like others said, it would be nice if they included big fluffy robes to make that hot tub run when it's cold out! The lobby has a laptop available to use, as well as local menus to browse through before you head out to eat. There is someone on duty 24/7 if you need anything, and the lady we met, Bev, was so very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was very filling- first day was stuffed french toast, bacon, yogurt with blueberries, and fruit, juice & coffee. 2nd morning, that fabulous croissant with caramel sauce, sausage, fruit, coffee & juice. All delivered to your room at the time you request. This is a nice, quiet & private B&B, adults only. Perfect for when you need to get away from it all...or from THEM all! By the way, a heads up on finding this place. Our newer Garmin GPS couldn't find it. It wasn't listed under B&B, or lodging. The address is officially 3124 N US 23, but the gps said that doesn't exist. Bev told us they are considered on Huron Rd, but the official address is the US 23 one. Look for the Northwood Pines Resort restaurant across the street from the Huron House, or you might go right past like we did!

Solid place to stay between Tawas and Oscoda. Overall, we had a very nice experience. Pluses include: good views of the lake, a nice stretch of beach where you can walk for miles in either direction, breakfast left outside your room every morning, private hot tub with many rooms, and nice spacious rooms. My slight quibbles involve the fact that you are certainly not secluded. US-23 can be a bit loud and runs right behind the place, and there's quite a few suites on the property. Everyone was really nice and we didn't have any problems with noise or anything, but there were always a lot of folks around. Not that it matters, but it seemed more like a nice beach motel than a traditional B&B to me.

We are here now! They absolutely don't miss a thing! You want for nothing here! From the smallest details to the comforts of luxury every detail is exquisite. The sheets, bedding and pillows are perfect, so soft and serene. The basket of goodies, water and snacks are perfect. A late snack of brownies delivered in the evening was a nice touch. A breakfast of juice, coffee, a croissant with caramel and fresh fruit in the morning Was good, but very sweet. The sausage was very good! The second day stuffed french toast was served dripping in syrup, way too sweet and the bacon was also drenched in syrup. Coffee was more like tea. The way they presented however was wonderful! Bev is a wonderful hostess and goes above and beyond. They even thought of a make-up washcloth, a basket of makeup remover pads and other little luxuries. The hot tub in the room with candles and soft fluffy towels was wonderful. A Keurig coffee maker with delicious coffees after a sunrise walk on the beach was so cool. We stayed here 14 years ago and loved it. This time, was even better. Can't say enough good things. Yes, it is on US 23. But we heard nothing from the outside. Trust us! You will fall in love with this little piece of paradise. Foot note: it IS VERY expensive!

Came here for our wedding anniversary and couldn't be happier!! The room was gorgeous, very clean, amazing view of lake Huron, and to top it off their service was top notch! We got there late but they made sure to accommodate us and didn't make a big deal of it. And the breakfast the next morning was phenomenal! We will definitely be back and stay the whole weekend!

My husband and I visited Huron House from December 26 to December 28th and we were so pleased with everything about our visit. Bev and the rest of the staff do a wonderful job of making the guests comfortable and welcome. The breakfasts are delivered to your door pretty much exactly on the time that you indicated and they are delicious! The late night ice cream is a great touch! We stayed in Huron and our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean. The view from our room was breathtaking! We loved the in-room jacuzzi tub and we were very happy that it was large enough for both of us to relax at the same time! It's rare to find a hotel jacuzzi that is big enough to accommodate two larger people. I think that the only thing I would change about our room was the shower - it's very small - but that's a minor thing given all that went right! Even the weather cooperated! Michael and I highly recommend Huron House and we will definitely make the 7 and a half hour journey from Pittsburgh again!
