My husband and I used to eat at a great Thai restaurant on Grand River, that sadly closed a few years back. We haven't been able to find authentic Thai food in our area since. Then one day, as we exited Martial arts on the corner of Okemos and Hamilton, we noticed that the old Sip and Snack was being remodeled again into the New Thai Kitchen! The owners of the previous Thai Kitchen decided to reopen to provide us with great Thai food! The restaurant is quaint and beautifully decorated with Thai art and greenery. They don't have a liquor license but they do have Thai coffee! Yummy!!! And I don't even like coffee!!! We ordered three different appetizers; Chicken Satay, Crab Rangoon and Fried Wontons. The Chicken Satay was moist and light and came with two very delicious dipping sauces. One was a slightly spicy peanut sauce and the other was a cucumber infused sweet and sour. The Crab Rangoon were a hit with my picky eater! They were filled with crab creaminess!!! I, sadly, only got a bite because the kids ate them all!. The Fried Wontons came with a spicy glaze with peanuts. They were all so good that I was glad the portions were small or else I would have been full before the entrees came. We ordered The Pad Prik with beef, the Fried Rice with chicken and the Sesame Chicken. The Pad Prik came with bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, green beans and green peppers. Unlike most dishes with a sauce, the vegetables were crisp and full of flavor not limp and tasteless. They blended perfectly with the brown sauce and the beef. The Fried rice was the table favorite! Tender chicken with moist rice, egg and vegetables. It wasn't greasy, big bonus. My son said it was the best fried rice he had ever had. The Sesame Chicken was awesome! It was crispy and sweet and the broccoli was cooked to perfection!!! I can't stress enough about how happy I was that the veggies were cooked correctly and were not just an after thought. Love the color!!! Perfect!! While we were waiting for our meal, a family was being escorted to their seats and the father said, "I'm very excited, I have heard great things!" Those great things are true and we were extremely happy with our meal at the New Thai Kitchen! My son said that we should go there more often because everyone liked it!! I agree. Happy Eating!

This place is great. The best Thai restaurant in the Greater Lansing area. I went with my husband and a friend of ours. They both had currie dishes and I had pad see ew. Perfect flavor and spice level. We all are vegetarians and they are able to adjust all their dishes to a vegetarian diet, and they have a vegetarian section on their menu. Ambiance is chill. We will definitely eat here again!

not good. weirdly colorless, bland and oily. why bother when Thai Princess is up the road? Not cheap either.

This small restaurant in the center of Okemos has very good Thai food. One of my daughters had the Sesame Chicken, which was crispy and rich in flavor. My other daughter had the veggie fried rice, which had a lot of flavor without too much saltiness. My wife and I had Pad See Ew, which can be greasy, but not here--it was very good. I recommend this place and will return frequently.

Usually get the pad thai or red curry with very good results. I ordered the drunken noodles yesterday, and it was definitely the best dish I have had there. The complimentary soup and egg roll is definitely a nice touch; however, the soup used to have more flavor at the last location. Good service, clean space, and great food.

This is my new favorite Thai place in the Lansing area. Had the drunken noodles (yummy! definitely the highlight) and panang curry (decent - but the coconut milk was a bit watered down). Decent spice level & enjoyable atmosphere.

My first visit was today for lunch, and it was tasty! I liked that the soup was vegetarian, and the spring roll was also vegetarian. Fresh & not greasy. I had the green curry coconut milk entree with mixed veggies. Definitely going back for this great lunch special.

Been working in Mason, staying in Okemos for 10 months and really needed to try a new restaurant. Saw the reviews of the recently (re)opened New Thai Kitchen and decided to give it a try. It was small. There was only one waitress and the owner/cook working when I went there on a Monday night. I was sure the service would be slow but boy was I wrong. It took me a couple minutes to get seated but once I was, the food was out quick. REAL quick. I choose the Chicken Pad Thai, the old stand by since it is kind of a measuring stick. It was real good. It was a little sweeter than some most I have had, not spicy at all. All of their dishes you basically choose the dish and then pick which meat you want in it, chicken, beef, pork or shrimp. The shrimp has a slight up charge over the other meats but pretty much all the entrees were less than $10 so it is good food cheap. Next time I want to try their Basil Fried Rice with meat. I tried several things. I liked their Crab Rangoon, Their spring rolls were good but I still prefer a classic Chinese Egg Roll to the spring rolls even though the Spring Rolls are probably a little more healthy. I was not a fan of the Fried Dumplings with Beef. The amount of meat was miniscule. I will pass on those next time. I liked it and I will go back. Great place for those on a budget that want good food.

So happy to have New Thai Kitchen back in town. The food is delicious and the prices are great. I'm a fan of the Red Pad Thai. Its the Pad Thai with ketchup in the sauce. The Tom Yum soup is always great. I do order other items, but always go back for the Tom Yum Soup. If you like coconut and curry, you will find lots of choices on the menu. At lunch they have a small soup, spring roll and entree for a lunch special price. At dinner everything is ordered separate. Two can share a dinner entree, but I would recommend ordering a soup or appetizer if you are sharing. Also, Thai food makes for great leftovers! Yum yum! I'm so glad that Thai Kitchen has returned!!

Highly recommend the duck! Although it's half duck, always with two legs! How fantastic the ducks are!

My buddy loved the old Thai Kitchen and suggested we go here. Great referral because everything we had was fantastic. Can't go wrong with the Crab Rangoons, Pad Thai and Pad Pak. That's all I've had so far, but I'm sure the rest of their menu is fantastic as well.

Love the curry friend rice! A little spicy so make sure you ask for a different level if you cannot handle the heat.

The interior of the restaurant is beautiful, and the food is sooo good. We've been twice, and I prefer eating there. The waiter and owner checked in on us and were very gracious. They offered a light soup and spring rolls before the meal which was unexpected and delicious. The curries are so yummy. They put a lot of sauce on the veggies and it's all cooked well. When we ordered take-out there was a very long wait, so plan ahead! Friends of ours visited the area from Grand Rapids, and chose this place for dinner because we'd taken him before. I think that is a huge compliment with all of the great restaurants in the area.

My husband and I stopped in after reading great reviews. We were not disappointed. The location is a little strange given it's in the quieter part of downtown Okemos but that will not stop us from going back. The drunken noodles and pad thai were fantastic and both of the soups we tried were equally good. We've also tried the spring rolls. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated, service and staff equally good. The only thing is that the heat was a little less bold than we expected so if you want it hot make sure to let them know how you like it. Very nice place will make this place a regular Friday night stop!

First off the staff was friendly and the food arrived surprisingly fast. That second part should have made me very suspicious. The food at least resembled what i had seen in the pictures. I had Red Pad Thai curry and my friend had Kang Kai. I'm convinced the red was ketchup with extra corn syrup. The noodles were very soggy and the bamboo shoots smelled like they were expired. I couldn't finish it all so i took the rest to go just so i could throw it away myself. A few days later I still feel nauseous. I fear it may never go away. I was very surprised for a place that was highly rated and presented itself as something better. Don't bother coming here; If you want good Thai food, there are just so many better Thai places to eat in the area, such as Naing Myanmar, Thai Princess, Thai Villiage, Thailand in Old Town, Bangkok House and several at Michigan State, and all of them can do better than bottom tier fast food. Unless you really like corn syrup.

Probably the best Thai in the area. Food is great and is well priced. Staff is very attentive. I have no complaints.

Our beloved Thai Kitchen is back! The food is wonderful; all the old faves and some new dishes to try too. Go there asap; you won't be disappointed, unless you go on a Sunday. They're not open on Sunday.

I was a huge fan of Thai Kitchen when it was in East Lansing and so disappointed when it closed down. I've been looking for a replacement every since and never really found anywhere I liked nearly as much. So I was THRILLED when I heard they were reopening in Okemos! They've been open for about 3 weeks now and I've already eaten there at least five times. The food is AMAZING and the owner and staff and very kind. I like the new decor better than the old place as well. They will work with you to help you customize your food so it's just how you want it as well. I highly recommend! Affordable prices for both lunch and dinner. So glad they are back!

Take out twice. Good food but a bit watery. Prices were reasonable. Will try to eat in next time and see if the experience is different.

Yummy foods! I and my husband went for dinner on Saturday. We ordered the 'Bangkok Flame Duck' and 'Pad Talay'. The portion was so big and the taste was priceless. We enjoy everything and even had some duck left home. We'll surely be back for more.
