Went for dinner on a Friday night. No reservations, and the place was full, but we were seated right away. Waitstaff was helpful and courteous. Able to answer questions on the wine list. We shared the mussels. They were excellent, and the sauce complimented the bread as well. I then had the halibut, and it was amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Over all the atmosphere was nice, the music not too loud, and the art well selected. We will definitely be returning.

Oh what a night! After having some drinks and watching a Tiger's game we strolled around town looking for a place to eat. We had always wanted to try Table 5 so we thought we would give it a shot. It was a beautiful Saturday night. We were seated outside immediately and quickly greeted by our waitress. She was very friendly and our orders came quick. We enjoyed some wine and I had the Salmon and my husband had the NY strip. Both were cooked to perfection. The prices were fair and the food was just outstanding. I will definitely be back (I'm still dreaming about that salmon!!!)

We dined there for our anniversary and it was wonderful! Have been before and experienced a wait for food and undercooked steak, but they corrected it and, thus, we went back. We used Open Table to book and switch our time...all good there. I ordered the featured halibut and it was fabulous! We did get the wrong bill, but our waiter was attentive and polite. We'll be back! Love just sitting at the bar for Happy Hour!

Had dinner here last night. The menu did not look very interesting until the waiter told us what he recommended and then answered some questions we had, then everything sounded good. Had a steak and it was excellent, not overseasoned. The sides were both great as well. Will definitely return.

The bar was very noisy but the dinning room was quieter. The waiter did an excellent job. The vichyssoise was excellent, very tasty but the sliced steak, although tasty, was poorly prepared. I had asked for medium rare but half of it was raw in the middle. The vegetables were an embarrassment being of poor quality, dry, tough and poorly prepared. The bread pudding was excellent. Overall very overpriced for the quality.

Best restaurant in the Northville area. The food is delicious. I have eaten there several times and everything has been perfect (love the halibut as well as the "wedge" salad). The waitstaff are friendly and attentive. Brian the bartender is wonderful. I am so glad I finally discovered this restaurant.

My fiancee and I just recently dined at Table 5 for the first time. We had a wonderful server who really knew the menu forwards and backwards and provided an incredible experience for us. The decor is upscale, the menu is a bit on the creative side which we both enjoyed, and they have a nice wine list with some interesting selections by the glass and half bottle. I'm always a fan of restaurants which offer a nice selection of wines by the glass and half bottle as it makes it much easier for my fiance and I to order wines we will both enjoy as our tastes in wine differ significantly. I had the scallops, they were amazing. My fiancee had the duck, also cooked perfectly. The only thing I did not care for was the coffee after the meal, it seemed pretty bland and weak and wasn't a great way to end our otherwise great experience. We will be back.

This place is awesome! It can be for a special occasion or just walk through the door in your jeans. Scallops amazing. Pate yum! The only thing I did not like was that the dressing on the pear salad had no zing but who cares. The salad did not matter to the overall experience. Wine was reasonable. Bread delicious just wish they offered more. Service perfect. I can't wait to go back.

I agree with a Yelp review-er who said "I don't know what to make of this place" We want to love it but there is always something wrong about it that we discuss it for days afterward We have had great food and disappointing food, staff that is wonderful and ones who are insulting.

I don't know what to think about this place. There were high spots and low. My husband and I enjoyed our drinks from the bartender who was friendly enough (although didn't look you in the eye while speaking to you- strange.) However, as a long time restaurant manager, I have a hard time sitting at a rail staring at an unorganized back bar filled with the staffs personal affects, kleenex boxes, paper work and a totally trashed service well. It was a Saturday night and they were busy but not so busy to excuse this level of mess. We moved on to our dinner in the dining room and had a knowledgeable, friendly waitress. She made helpful suggestions and then informed us that they were out of the features for the evening. Really!? It was 730 on a Saturday night. I understanding not wanting to over order but you should be able to make it thru the majority of your service without having to 86 a feature. I decided on the scallops which were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My husbands halibut was coated in a seasoned batter but the fish itself was not. The meat was very bland. Overall, I am sure we will be back. I will hope for more exciting options on the menu and a little more attention paid to the overall tidiness. Pet Peeve Sidenote: I can't stand when servers (female no less) hand the bill to the man. It is doubly irritating after a card has been placed in the check presenter with a woman's name on it and they still hand it back to the man. Rude.

We came to Table 5 upon the advice of a culinary student. We were not disappointed. The decor was trendy and the staff, friendly. But the food was exquisite. We shared a bruschetta appetizer. My companions ordered the butternut squash soup and I had a perfectly dressed salad. For the main course, I had the filet with mashed potatoes and haricots verts - wonderful - perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. I couldn't resist the chocolate pots de creme. Even the decaf coffee was great. I can't wait to go back and try something else

Great spot in downtown Northville (which, btw, is getting less sleepy by the day. Menu is appealing. I was told by a friend to get the scallops and they did not disappoint. Cheese plate was excellent. Good, not great, wine selection. Someone described the emerging downtown Northville vibe as Birmingham without the pretention. It has a ways to go, but I think this is correct. Very enjoyable.

We ate here for a bachelorette dinner and had an incredible experience. I've eaten at many nice restaurants in DFW, but I think the intimate service and size of the restaurant made this even better. Our waitress recommended so many things from appetizers, drinks to desserts. I love going out to eat and not having to make decisions, and she made such great ones for us! They also described their restaurant as a "scratch" kitchen which means they make everything there; and it was obvious when you tasted every dish. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is staying in Plymouth, Northville, Canton areas in Michigan!

I'm a fairly lazy person so for me to write a review requires a restaurant to either be very good or very bad. This is definitely in the very good category. If you are just doing drinks the bar is staffed by very competent bartenders who know how to make a drink. Very attentive and friendly and they will not only remember you on the next visit but also what you like to order. The food is also very good. I've ordered a variety of their offering but the filet is my favorite. In an area without a ton of quality dining options Table 5 stands out as one of the best.

We chose Table 5 to celebrate our wedding anniversary based on the outstanding reviews this place received. It was a quiet Wednesday night, and they were featuring a 3-course $25 prix fixe menu that seemed like an excellent value, so we both decided to enjoy that. We also ordered a bottle of wine from a winery we had enjoyed visiting in Sonoma. The meal started with seared scallops with collard greens over a creamy sauce (very good) and phyllo dough pouches stuffed with duck and cauliflower and a balsamic reduction (just ok, although my husband liked it). Second course was a delicious corn chowder and a salad (which I found overly acidic with the dressing). The entree course was whitefish with pumpkin risotto and Brussel sprouts - very creamy and rich, which I found a little strange for a fish dish, but pretty good overall. The other entree was a lamb chop with wild rice and broccoli which seemed to be cooked medium at first but was very rare/raw closer to the bone and rather tough. About half of the dishes were quite good, but the other half seemed liked they could use some improvements. We were somewhat disappointed that even after mentioning it was our first time to the restaurant and our anniversary we were not offered a complimentary dessert - especially after a nearby table was offered one for a birthday. It would have been a nice gesture and encouraged us to come back. We ordered dessert anyway - a chocolate cheesecake that was very rich and a little too sweet for my liking. The restaurant is charming with great artwork on the exposed-brick walls. Service was slow even though there were very few tables occupied. We will probably come back to give it another chance at some point since we live nearby, but we weren't overly impressed by the food and service.

This was our second visit to Table 5. We were completely famished after a long night of Christmas shopping and decided to stop in for appetizers and drinks. What a treat this place is!!! They have the most creative choices on their menu. Everything we ordered was perfect, both drinks and food. We decided on the Gorgonzola Beef Tips and Mushroom Brie Fondue. The beef tips were melt in your mouth delicious with incredible flavor. They were cooked to perfection. The fondue was melty and warm with lots of mushrooms. It was served with vegetables and toasted bread slices. We also were given a plate of toasted bread slices with two different kinds of butter, carrot cake and basil garlic. The carrot cake butter was a unique and pleasant treat! The bartender who served us was welcoming and friendly but not pesty or too talkative. We questioned him about the restaurant and he gave us a short history of the restaurant, which used to be called McKinnon's previously. I would say that this is a great place for a date night or anniversary dinner. If I were to be going for dinner, I would get a bit dressed up. But we also felt comfortable walking in with jeans and ordering at the bar too. If there is one restaurant to try while you are in Northville, this is the one I recommend at the very top of my list!! You will not be disappointed!!

I would rather not rate this place because they would not seat us. It was 5:30 and we walked in. And, there was only one of 20 tables being used. I will honestly say that we may not have been dressed appropriately. I was waring cargo shorts and my alumni shirt and took off my hat. When I said "two please." she asked if I made a reservation. After saying no, she then took 3 to 4 mins punching things into their computer. One of two thing happened. One, They really did not have time for us. Or, we were not the kind of guest they would like. Someone will have to convince me to reconsider going back.

This place is outstanding! I was headed to Downtown Northville and asked a resident for a restaurant suggestion and this was it. The decor was great, service was good, drinks were yummy and the food was excellent. All and all, I love this place and highly recommend it! And as a side note, Downtown Northville is a hidden gem. It's like a smaller version of Downtown Ann Arbor. I was really impressed.

Good food. - have to write more. just wanted to get it stared. 3/29/10 Tried lamb chops for the first time ever here at Table 5. I have pleasantly surprised. The dish had a Mediterranean flare. The chops were marinated and coated in a rich sauce, which was quite lovely. The meat was not as gamey as I would suspect. They were tender and fell apart. yum! served over Israeli cous cous and tender carrots. My husband ordered the steak. Not as good as mine though! For dessert, we split the crème brulee. It was served in 4-5 spoons. The presentation was beautifully displayed, but looked skimpy at first. But these little spoonfuls are so rich, we ended up having some left over! We dined here for the second time. Our meals were not as memorable as our first experience. My husband ordered the lamb chops, but were not quite like mine before.. I tried their new dish of braised short ribs. It was served in a bowl atop of mashed potatoes and vegetables. But the vegetables were minced and cooked in the sauce. Not enough textures! The flavor was there, but was like eating mush. eh. We would still like to come here again. Table 5 has an innovative menu and is constantly changing.

Had dinner at this place twice, and can honestly say after last night will never go back! We had the steak special, very salty sauce on the steak, my salad was even salty for some reason. But while eating our dinner the place was filling up, I noticed the owner watching and looking kind of anxious, she made it very uncomfortable to enjoy the dinner. I believe she wanted faster turnover, charging what they do for dinner, you would think it would be a better experience, also with our 34.00 dollar steak. My husband ordered soup with his, which didnt come with the dinner, additional 6.00 and my salad additional 4.00 really,! Never again. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because the waiter Chad, Awesome!

A really nice surprise. Not in northville much this was the suggestion of a friend. Everything was great. Service very nice and not obtrusive. Food was very good. Had steak with peppercorns. Date had scallops and salad. All were very good. Blueberry butter tasty too. Not five stars as I save that for the truly special but this was really good. I recommend with no hesitation

This is my new favorite restaurant. The food is outstanding and the service is awesome. I had the best filet mignon of my life here and I actually dream about it. The servers are very knowledgeable about their menu and how things are prepared. The place is somewhat fancy but doesn't feel snooty like a lot of upscale places. I highly recommend this place!

Great local addition to the Northville/Novi/Plymouth dining scene. Small but good selection of craft brews on tap. Good wine list. Good, interesting and varied small plates. Nice outdoor streetfront patio makes for prime people watching. Entrees are tasty and presented with skill. Try it.

Are you kidding? This place is amazing. It officially became my new favorite restaurant as soon as we sat down. Delicious bread with 2 flavored, spiced butters. Calamari was actually perfect, not chewing or over fried like most places. For the main course, I had the Barrmundi, served with coconut curry sauce. It was incredible and had a nice spice. My husband ordered the panko-crusted halibut. Our server politely informed us that they ran out of halibut and the chef was substituting black cod. He ordered it anyway, and was not disappointed. For dessert, we shared the chocolate peanut butter cake served with banana ice cream. Yes! We will be returning, and I will most likely order the same meal I had last time. Best restaurant around!!!

Visited Table 5 for the second time last night (this time for just drinks and dessert) and again was thoroughly satisfied. We ordered some after dinner drinks and the Atwater Vanilla Java Porter waffle which was topped with a dollop of homemade caramel pretzel ice cream and a chocolate espresso sauce. There were several other things that I would imagine might have been equally good, so it was difficult to choose. The dinner menu is also very good. Last time we were here I ordered the brie fondue which was rich, as you might imagine, but totally worth it. We also got a little sample (which the waiter graciously let us try) of the cauliflower soup which was amazing. Since we ordered so much food, we decided to skip on getting a side of the soup. I appreciate this restaurant mostly because of the creativity of the food. It's so easy to run a restaurant with a menu that only provides the "same 'ol, same 'ol" which is really easy to get away with especially in downtowns like Plymouth and Northville where no one seems to get tired of traditional American "bar and grill" food. I feel that I need to thank Table 5 for trying to do something a little different -- especially like foodies like me. So, thanks!

We really, really wanted to like Table 5. We've been looking for a replacement for our beloved Emily's of Northville and Eve of Ann Arbor. Unfortunately, Table 5 isn't it. Here's what they do right: The ambiance is great, striking a nice balance between hip and upscale, and the menu is creative. Our server was friendly, if overworked. The wine list was interesting and offered many by-the-glass options as well as half bottles and full bottles under $25. We thoroughly enjoyed the chenin blanc/viognier blend we ordered and stopped by Busch's on the way home to pick up a few bottles (at 1/3 the price). Food presentation was attractive and interesting. A lot of thought has been put into how things look here. Unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the image. Our starter was tuna ceviche, with fresh ahi tuna, lime and grapefruit, cilantro, jalapenos and corn chips. Sounded amazing, but had almost no flavor to speak of. Very surprising. We moved on to the salads. Mine was the swiss chard, with vodka lime vinaigrette, watermelon, red onions and feta. Again, lots of promise but very little flavor. The vinaigrette was insipid and heavy on the oil, and the watermelon was minced into such tiny pieces that the flavor completely disappeared in all that oil. I got no vodka and very little lime. We also tried the soup of the day, a chilled peach and melon soup with mint and prosciutto. The mint consisted of a couple of tiny leaves of garnish; the soup itself was pleasant but dull. The prosciutto turned out to be cut in such a way that you had to eat the entire blob in one bite unless you wanted to struggle with cutting it up. Things looked up with the entrees. My husband had the pork noisettes, which were tender and -- finally! -- flavorful. The chipotle mashed potatoes were creamy without being cloying. I had the seared scallops, which were cooked perfectly. The accompanying lentils were attractively scattered across the plate but not interesting enough to finish. Desserts were mixed. He had the blackberry basil crumble with honeydew sorbet; the basil was a nice addition to the blackberry, though the crumble itself was minimal. This was more like sorbet with liquid blackberry sauce on the side. The sorbet was pleasant but icy rather than smooth. I had the chocolate pot de creme; diners wishing to find something along the lines of the thick, dark, rich pot de creme that Eve restaurant used to serve should continue to look elsewhere. This was essentially a somewhat rich chocolate pudding, nice but ultimately forgettable. Finally, the coffee was sub par, a bit stale and weaker than we like. In summary: there is a problem with seasoning and flavors at Table 5. It's almost as though they've got the image of a great restaurant figured out but don't really understand how to make great food yet. I wish them well but doubt we'll return.

Very nice atmosphere and classy dinning. Prices are to be expected however the great service reflects nicely on the more expensive price. I had the scallops which were cooked correctly and not overdone. Excellent restaurant.

Amazing place. The food is excellent, drinks are delicious, and service is awesome. It's a small place, so you may need a reservation, but you'll be glad if you go. If you're just looking for a drink or something small to eat, there are a few tables in addition to the bar in the front area. Here, you can order "bar bites," which range from cheese and crackers to scallops. If you sit at a table, there is a larger menu with some amazing, creative dishes. The staff is wonderful and the bartender is a riot. Definitely give Table 5 a try.

This was my birthday dinner. My wife and I had been eyeing this place in downtown Northville for a while, waiting for more of a 'special occasion'. Well, my birthday seemed appropriate, so a reservation was made. Oddly enough, you can ONLY call after 5pm on any day for a reservation. Seems odd to me, but, .....oh well. The atmosphere is nice, the decor is kind of a cross between hip and a touch modern, in a NYC loft kind of way, if that makse sense. Not too much din from the bar area, but just enough to let you know there are people up and about. Our server (young girl, new ....admitted by her) pours our water and doesn't say hi, welcome to Table 5, but simply, ..."will you be having anything else besides water?" I thought that was odd, and I said to my wife, "I wonder if that's even our server?" She nodded yes, ...and shortly thereafter the cocktails arrived. So far, so , ...so-so. The drink menu is kind of cool offereing up full bar choices, but a nice array of wines by the glass, bottle, AND ....a list of 5 wines by the bottle they have for $25 or under, which I thought was interesting. At least, nothing that this 'semi-knowledgable' restaurant goer has ever experienced. We split a salmon cake appetizer and were quite pleased! Warm, nice spice, big flavor! It's getting better...... When the soup and salad came out ( I had the pumpkin bisque soup and my wife had the garlicky cole slaw salad) ....things went back down to so-so again, darn! It looked great, both dishes, but someone in the kitchen CAN NOT be tasting things before they're sent out. No one, and I mean NO ONE should have to salt a salad or soup in order to get some flavor. Now, don't get me wrong, ...it wasn't horrific, but, after the way the appetizer tasted, it was very clear that something was missing! Entree time: Panko encrusted halibut for my wife, ...scallops for me. The main portions of the entrees were very good! Fish was done perfeclty, flaky, moist, ...very nice! The scallops were perfectly seared and done just as they should. The risotto that came w/ the halibut was again slightly underseasoned, as was my fried rice under my scallops. The accompanied sauces w/ each dish were very nice, but you couldn't help but notice the missing portions. The fish and scallops did save the meal though, ..they themselves were fantastic. I wish I could give Table 5 a 2.5, but I can't. That being said I'm going to have to drop down to a 2 because of the up and down in the seasoning department. Plus, ...I'm not in a huge rush to go back because of that. All in all, we had a nice time, and we like to rate restaurants we've never been to on a scale from 1-10, and we both said 7, so, if that helps at all. If the seasoning on the soup and salad, and accoutrements of the main dish had been correct, ....Table 5 would have probably received 4 stars. I'm sure we'll give it another whirl someday, ...but as far as the first visit, I'd have to say, strike 1.

Went here on a Thursday evening, and had apps at the bar. Some things were really good, some things were ok. The mussels were actually really really good, some of the best i've had, and i almost wanted to drink the sauce it was soaking in. The spicy sweet potato fries were spot on, with a little kick. Inhaled the generous portion. My wife really liked the white fish pate, but i thought it was passable. Finally, we both agreed that the tuna tacos were not bad, but forgettable. Anyway, it's a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed ourselves. I do think it was a tad on the pricey side in this economy, but overall not too bad. -chiwei

I have now visited Table 5 3 times, and I am ready to place my review. The first time I dined there was shortly after it opened and things were a bit "hectic" with the staff. Overall, the selection of wine and food was nice. But not "wowing" us. The next time we dined there, we had a business dinner with some friends. We felt that it improved quite a bit, but the wait for our food was extensive. Last night I dined with a co worker and was again, not impressed. We took advantage of the 3 for $25 deal, and had the steak tips, which were VERY undercooked for my counterpart. We sent them back and they returned, just as red. Our dinner was just OK, and the waiter did offer complimentary dessert, which was creme brulee, and again ok. The waiter was quite shy, and not the least bit entertaining or even apologetic for the improper cooking temperature of the steak tips. Overall, overpriced, underwhelming, but a nice atmosphere. WIll probably choose other places to entertain business networks.

I was very excited to find a new restaurant and when we walked in I thought, "hey, this looks pretty nice". However, once again it was just a mediocre restaurant in Southeastern Michigan. The server we had was really good and very knowledgeable about the wine and menu, but it didn't save the dinner we ordered.

My wife and I been many times. Great menu and service. The menu is good but we like to eat in bar area and order a couple of smaller items of the bar menu. They change it often and we always find some we like. The bartender Brian has been around Northville area a long time and does a excellant job.Always a fun place to go to.

Love the atmosphere at Table 5. Doesn't seem to have the stuffy atmosphere that most restaurants at this price point typically have. I had the Halibut which was outstanding. I definitely plan on coming back here again and again.

This is a tough one to review, on the one hand, the food has been outstanding the three times I have dined here, however on the other hand, the service has been terrible each time. My first two visits were shortly after Table 5 had opened and I wrote it off to starting up. Over two years later however the service is still bad - late at seating for reservations and way too long between courses (probably related). It's too bad because the food is really good, just prepare yourself for a long meal.

My wife and I visited Table 5 for the first time on a Wednesday evening. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and T5 was great! I had made a reservation using Open Table, and we were given a table right away. Our waiter was timely, friendly, and was knowledgeable with the menu. Our meal consisted of calamari for the appetizer, entrees were lamb chops and walleye. Dessert was a combination peach and blueberry pie. The food was the star of the show and the portion sizes seemed perfect. We were in the restaurant for 1.5 hours. I would recommend Table 5 if you are looking for quiet and relaxing dinner with high quality food. The patio also looks to be a popular spot on nice weather days. Negatives: Difficult to park car near the door because T5 does not have a dedicated parking lot. Street parking was limited so we needed to park in the structure behind the restaurant. It was a short walk. Thankfully it was not raining.

Ran out of Bibb lettuce for the wedge but accommodated nicely by making a Gorgonzola and romaine combo. Could have had more dressing though. The scallops and corn combo were fantastic. Proportioned nicely and cooked perfectly. Hubby says the halibut was "awesome, really very good" and it changed his opinion after the salad incident. His portion was correctly sized as well. I enjoyed the strawberry lemon butter. It was a nice little surprise with the bread.

Table 5 has always been a favorite restaurant, so it was our logical first choice for hosting a rehearsal dinner for our son and his beautiful bride last weekend. EVERYTHING exceeded our expectations...the staff was incredible, the food was equally incredible, the service and bar service were outstanding and we received compliments from one or more people at each table throughout the night about the quality of the food, atmosphere and service. The dishes at Table 5 are unique but not overly fussy--just different enough to stand out, but pleasing to everyone and certainly fit for foodies. The appetizers were a huge hit, especially the chickpea fritters and the potsticker ravioli. And I am looking forward to my next trip to Northville in a few months just to have a repeat order of the halibut, which is a signature dish at Table 5. Oh, and there just isn't enough room here for me to rave about the desserts. Needless to say, we were fans before...but now we are HUGE fans. Thanks, Table 5, for helping us make some amazing memories in your beautiful restaurant. We will return again and again.

Been here many times and love it! My favorite things: trout pate, banana chocolate martinis (all of their dessert martinis are delicious), and the fresh made butter combo. Portions on mains are small and expensive, but the quality is there. Fantastic ingredients with great presentation.

I'm not really sure what to make of this place. It's expensive and has all the face value elements it needs to be great...decent service, decent ingredients and great location but it was a miss for us. We had a reservation and came in after a Tipping Point Show for Valentine's Day. We sat at the bar for a cocktail while we waited for our table to be ready. The bartender was a little loud when he did acknowledge us but didn't really bother to say hello for the first several minutes, which made sitting there kind of awkward. Additionally, the bar area is really drafty so during winter months take a seat as far back as you can. When we were sat we placed an order for some fried calamari and an order of their gnocchi. The calamari was pretty basic, the gnocchi was definitely worth getting again. For the mains, I ordered a steak from their daily specials. The T-bone was a little overpriced and a little grisly but I liked the potato puree it was sitting on. The root vegetables were OK but nothing was amazing here. Service was solid and the dining room is cozy but I'd try another spot rather than come back here.

I happily give it four stars for overall service and quality of food, but I'd give it a negative rating for graciousness for simple special requests. Each dish here is complete--there are no choices to be made. And that's fine as long as you like and can eat what's included. Tonight, my husband ordered the chicken, but wanted a different vegetable. Our server said she needed to check with the chef. When she returned she said, "He's too busy to make the substitution." TOO BUSY?? Really? Even if he is, that's 1) a crappy, non-gracious way to frame the "no," and 2) too damn bad. My husband ended up not ordering anything at all, and, had we not been with a group, we would have left. I won't return--ever.

Earlier this month we checked out Table 5 for the first time with another couple (to celebrate a birthday). We had reservations and although we arrived early, we were seated immediately. The beer and wine list was impressive (definitely enough diversity) but it was the FOOD that blew us away! We ordered the mussels and the tuna tartar; the mussels were delicious and the tuna tartar was the best any of us have ever had. I STILL crave it! Our entrees were spectacular and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the salmon dish and said that it was the best salmon she'd ever had. We all sampled bites of each others' meals and were not disappointed! We will definitely be back for a romantic dinner for two or another small gathering.

This review is long overdue. I visited Table 5 around late August as a treat to myself. I left happy, full, and impressed. It's a little louder than I would have liked, kind of small, and the service (while efficient and familiar with the menu) isn't all that "warm". However, what they DO well here is the food - exceptionally. I'm not sure they can do anything wrong. Every item I ordered was better and better. I began with the kale salad (my server suggested), which I completely cleared. The entree I ordered was a scallop dish. It was complimented with a blend of noodles and wasabi vegetables (I can't recall all that was with it, but it was good). The combination was divine. I highly recommend this dish, although I think it may be a seasonal thing. Not to fear if that is no longer on the menu, as everything I tried was great. For dessert, I decided to choose between a dessert martini or dessert - I couldn't - so I chose both. I had the chocolate banana martini (which tasted just as it sounds - heaven!) and a rhubarb dish that was unlike anything I have had in other establishments. I am partial to rhubarb though and consider it most under-appreciated... but that really blew my mind. I could not have anticipated a better time. The crowd around me was also pleasant. I can not wait to find an excuse to go back.

First time here last night with friends celebrating my wife's birthday. All I can say is, WOW. Service and food were outstanding. Not a very big place. Nice décor. Bar is small and there are a couple of additional tables. Rebecca was our server and she did a great job explaining the specials, the menu and how each choice would be prepared. Nice to know how and what is going into your meal. The menu is just my type, not too big and a nice selection of meat, seafood and pasta. Cheese and olive appetizer was very good but the olives could have been a little larger. Salads were a nice portion and could be split. Two of us had the Michigan Whitefish special, one had the pork loin and one had seared scallops. ALL were just great. I have to give a big thank you to Rebecca for making this a very pleasant meal, She was very attentive, friendly and helpful. wish all servers could be this way.

5 star worthy in my books! I made a reservation for my husband and I through Open Table.Though we arrived about 15 minutes early, they had a table ready for us. The place was packed! It's funny, I've always wanted to try it here and just hadn't made it in yet despite living right in Northville ourselves. The hostess greeted us kindly and even wished me a happy birthday! Our server was knowledgeable but not pushy. We were looking over the wine list and nothing was ringing a bell, and I wanted a Zinfandel - Justin made a suggestion and we were very pleased. The only semi-disappointing factor of the entire evening was that my husband doesn't eat seafood! Many of the appetizers were seafood based, which I would have loved . But, since he doesn't we started with the cheese and olive plate - MMM MMM. The gouda was my favorite, it was in crumbles and paired perfectly with the chardonnay gelee (think wine jello shot) on the plate. I was torn on many of the delicious sounding entrees, but ended up getting the scallops. They were by far the best scallops I have ever eaten! They were served over Soba noodles in a wasabi miso sauce with some tasty green scallions. Cooked perfectly and the wasabi gave the dish the perfect amount of bite for me. I ate every last bite on my plate. Husband had the strip steak on special which was cooked in a garlic butter sauce - again - this was cooked perfectly, served over onion mashed potatoes and asparagus. One of the best cuts of that steak he had ever eaten as well. We were also brought a complimentary birthday dessert which we let our server Justin choose for us - the chocolate mousse. OMG. I am not a chocolate dessert person as its typically too rich for my taste buds but this was different - not nearly as rich as most mousses I've had. It was like a river of chocolate had found its way into the coffee cup it's served in and into my chomper. SOOO good. If only we could have eaten more. Needless to say... I'm sorry it took me so long to get to Table 5. Can't wait to sip some vino and enjoy their bites from the bar outside this summer.

We really like this restaurant and eat here roughly once a month. Sometimes we just do appetizers at the bar (I love the cheese plate), others we enjoy special occasion dinners with and without friends. It is, personally, my favorite restaurant for dinner in Northville. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and can sometimes be loud but that is what I love about it - that energy. The staff is generally outstanding, I have never had bad service. We love everything about it and are so glad it is so close to home.

Food is consistently great. Service is typical for a small town restaurant, ok but not outstanding. Decor is confusing, white tablecloths make it seem like a fine dining but its a casual, inviting place.

Yes, you should go. This is a really good place. Went here with wife and friends around 8pm on a Saturday night and had a great meal. The location in town is good. Restaurant seating is a little limited so you would be wise to make a reservation. We tried a number of dishes; tuna, scallops, filet mignon, grilled chicken, whatever else. It was an enjoyable evening and next time I'm in town I'll try to go again.

I travel a great deal for business and was in the Detroit area for a conference and entertained some Japanese clients here. As part of my job I have the opportunity to experience a diverse number of fantastic restaurants around the world. Table 5 is honestly one of the best places I've eaten anywhere in the world over the last few months. I couldn't believe the outstanding quality of all the courses. Everything from the fresh baked bread to the salads to my entree of scallops over soba noodles was fantastic. My guests were equally impressed. I had the root beer creme brûlée for desert and it was incredible. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. He recommended a New Holland brewing Company after dinner beer/ale that was amazing. I highly recommend Table 5 for a special occasion.

It was good but not remarkable. My second visit. Our group all agreed that they need to change their menu. The food is ok to good. I had halibut I think and it was slightly overcooked. I will give them another try, but not anytime soon in the hopes that they mix it up a bit. Pretty busy place though because it's downtown Northville.

Went here to share some food and drink our fill. There is rather limited beer selection. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't need 657 choices on tap. Just a handful of decent enough brews. There's wine list and full bar to accommodate any other booze needs as well. I found a couple suitable beer choices and felt I was on my way to pleasurable feeding fest. Nice atmosphere and service was great but the dishes on the whole seemed a bit lacking. The space gives off the vibe that we were treating ourselves to a fine meal but what was delivered to our table was lacking any truly good flavor. Nothing to really get upset over but really nothing to get excited about either. The calamari, trout pate and gnocchi were decent enough dishes. Appearance was a priority but the same care was not delivered to cooking the food. Soups were not exactly show stoppers either. The tomato basil seemed like spruced up canned marinara sauce. Corn chowder was served room temp and while I wanted to like it more, it was par for the course of this meal. Lacking any thing truly flavorful or memorable. I felt tricked. This place fooled me into thinking that I was in for a quality dining experience. Unfortunately the food couldn't follow up. There is nothing particularly disastrous going on here but there is nothing exciting, inspiring or even remotely delicious. With so many good options around, I doubt I will find my way back here.

We were the first table sat and we're third to be greeted by a server. Kinda put a bad taste in my mouth. When I asked about champagne since we were celebrating our 5 yr anniversary she kept cutting me off, but was knowledgable about the wines. Our water carafe was empty towards the end if dinner and she didn't refill it or fill our glasses as is seen done at other tables. And lastly, I enjoy black pepper, especially cracked black pepper on a salad. I was going to ask for some since it wasn't on the table but she left before I could. I then saw another server offer it to another sable during the salad course. We also weren't told the specials for the evening nor the soup. However, she was knowledgable about the menu and had fantastic suggestions. The food was amazing and that's all that mattered. I ordered the crab fritters, BLT wedge, seared tuna entrée, and Grandmas gooey butter cake for dessert w/a Spanish coffee and my taste buds were singing!!

Located in in the center of picturesque downtown Northville, Table 5 is a wonderful place for food-loving friends to meet up. Some of my friends are regulars at the bar, where they can enjoy the "bar bites" menu while others (including myself) gravitate more to the dining room. I've always been a fan of mussels, even after reading Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential and I am always on the lookout for different preparations. The Lussier Mussels delivered just that. The large mussels in a lemon, garlic, parsley and white wine stock had a Mariniere quality, with heat and added flavor from the red pepper flakes. The dish was simply delicious with the rolls soaking up the wine. I was curious about the bacon hash and tomato conserva that accompanied the Sea Scallops so I had to try it out. Three large, sweet sea scallops, pan-seared, topped with tomato aioli were accompanied by a generous portion of hash browns, cooked with bacon bits, slow-roasted tomatoes, and green beans. The latter was a substitute for frisée and much welcomed. I've never prepared tomato conserva before so I appreciated the server's description - it is similar in texture to juicier sun-dried tomatoes. Bread pudding made with Parmenter's doughnuts and cider for dessert? Sounds like heaven - and it was. The freshly-baked pudding had a wondrous apple flavor from the cider and was perfect with the vanilla ice cream - a riff on apple pie à la mode. Note, dessert was comped - lovely! Bread service included two different types of butter: sage and apple. Not, "apple butter" which is more apple sauce but butter flavored with apples. Yum! Service was impeccable. The server was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Table 5 continues to be one of the best local restaurants both in terms of food quality and service. My friends and I have never had a poor experience. Tip: It is generally quiet on Monday evenings in the fall - no waits - so I will be making a point of coming here more often.

One of our fav restaurants in MI... Great food, friendly staff, good ambience. We eat there about once every week. Can't stay away. Their fish entrees are always good as is their wedge salad. They just need to bring back the trout Mac and cheese. Bar menu is awesome too, but you can only eat it at the bar.

One of my favorite restaurants! Everything here is always fabulous... The food, service, the atmosphere... All of it! I come here frequently for dates as well as business dinners. I think the ambience is appropriate for both. The food and the service is always top notch. The menu changes quite frequently and it's always really creative and different and amazingly delicious! The wine list has one of my favorites: educated guess! This is always a solid recommendation. You can't go wrong at table 5!

We really liked this restaurant. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff was very friendly. We loved the dinner ... My wife had the panko crusted halibut and I had the filet. The steak was cooked to perfection. The kettle corn creme brûlée was awesome too! We'll definitely be going back!

First and foremost I'd like to compliment the other diners' waiter, Phil. He was awesome. Phil was upbeat, happy to be there and picked up where our waiter fell short. He was definitely on the ball and pleasant to talk to. Thanks Phil :) So.... 'dressy" was listed under attire on Yelp. In my world dressy means cocktail dress, then I remember we are in Michigan so that just means no runners, hole-y jeans, caps, etc. The waiters wear jeans, some even had on tennies. So there you go. Ambiance was great- some artsy fartsy pieces, nice french doors, bar area with a TV turned to the mockery that is the Detroit Lions, separate dining area. My only issue was with the lighting. It was SO DIM that I had to use the flashlight app on my phone to actually see what I was eating!! SERIOUSLY! My sister had: ~Pear Salad which didn't have enough pears to actually qualify as a Pear Salad. ~Salmon was also just ok as it was served with a white sauce instead of a preferred sweet dressing. ~Potatoes and beets served with her entree were delish! For starters, I might have scarfed down the Chipotle Tomato Soup-just the right level of hotness! Then I enjoyed: ~Scallops with swiss chard and Yuzo sauce which is a Japanese Lemon sauce drizzled over top. Note: the sauce isn't very lemony but is sweet and exquisite. ~Superb parmesan mashed potatoes completed the meal. NOTE for VEGAN/VEGETARIANS: This meal does have small surprise pieces of bacon that you can eat around. OF NOTE: I just checked their on-line menu- although scallops and salmon are on both the online and paper menu the fish were not prepared as the online menu indicates and not served with items listed- totally different meals! ONLINE MENU IS NOT UP TO DATE! Last note: the menu on 12/22/12 was heavy towards fish which is a very welcomed change from the usual. (Not a large selection of meat entrees)

We had a lovely dinner here to celebrate our 1st night together in Michigan, brrrrr..., Take 5 has a very cozy dining area and an attentive staff. We enjoyed a delicious salad unfortunately named MI wedge. (Not a wedge salad, thank goodness!) halibut was great with a tasty risotto. Chocolate pot de Creme topped off the great meal H

NEVER AGAIN. I was going to let this slide... really I was. I thought well everyone else reviewed them so well it must be a fluke that my scallops were gritty, bitter, uncleaned and undercooked. I thought the poor apathetic service was just because someone had a bad day. It happens, I understand.... But to alter my bill slip to give yourself an extra 15 dollars in tip? Not okay under any circumstance. I regret going to this restaurant :(

This place is wonderful. My wife and I celebrated our 49th wedding aniversary here. We have celebrated at this location for several decades going back to when it was McKinnons. We both had one of the best meals ever. I ordered the corn chowder soup de jour and two appetizers----the asian crab cups and the roasted brussel sprouts and goganzola flat bred. All were perfect! The brussel sprouts on the flat bread were shredded like a slaw and then roasted. My wife started with the beet salad and then ordered the whitefish which was served over a bed of quinoa with a special sauce. She loved it and I tasted both and agreed. I had made the reservation with open table and requested a surpise anniversary dessert but I didn't expect what we got. We ordered off the regular menu and when they delivered our pumpkin tort they had spelled out Happy Aniversary in chocolate syrup on the plate and included a dish of Guernsey's butter pecan ice cream. It was excellent and no charge. This was not our first visit to Table 5, but certainly our best. WE SHALL RETURN!

I've eaten at Table 5 a number of times, each visit has been a great experience filled with delicious food and excellent service. I've been here for date night, and also come for dinner with a small group of friends, but I think my favorite way to dine at Table 5 is to sit at the bar and order a handful of Bites at the Bar--appetizers for bar and outdoor seating only. The bar sliders are awesome, and so are the truffle fries. Steak tips and calamari were great, too. The Greek Lamb Meatballs were not my favorite, a little dry, a little gamey, but I'm also not a huge lamb person. The bar area also offers a grown up Happy Meal that includes a small plate of food and a beer or wine for $10. Pretty awesome deal. On the fancy white tablecloth side of the restaurant, I've eaten shrimp, scallops, and filet. The menu changes often enough to keep things interesting, so I've had a variety of preparations of these items--all yummy. And for dessert, don't miss out on the pot de creme. It's like chocolate pudding meets mousse meets heaven. One bite and you will be whisked away to a magical chocolate land full of rainbows and unicorns. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could, I will definitely be returning.

I wish I had made a reservation. It was a Tues night so I figured it couldn't be that busy. Wrong! Bar and restaurant both very busy. Sad. Had to wait. They must have had reservations because we saw tables at 7 but weren't seating us. Then like 15 mins later sat in that same empty table we saw earlier. Oh well. It was much more casual than dressy in my opinion so I felt over dressed? Service was great. Food was excellent. The scallops thanks to so many reviews were right on the mark. Perfectly cooked. Cheese and olive plate was just ok. Wish the crab app was still there from their menu on yelp. Boo alas it is not. Dessert I ordered the panna cotta. Yum yum yum! So perfect. Loved it. Great way to end the night.

This place is solid. Very decent prices for high quality food. I got the salmon which was tender although I didn't care for the glaze they used... I prefer my meats savory over sweet. The important thing is that they knew to undercook the salmon for tenderness, so many places botch that. The butternut squash soup was decent, and the chocolate custard was wonderful. Overall, it's cheaper than Bacco's in Southfield or Toasted Oak in Novi, and certainly way faster service than Cafe Muse in Royal Oak, so I will definitely be visiting again.

Too bad Table 5 didn't exist when I lived just down the street as this would have been my regular "go to" place. I loved it! I didn't have a reservation on a Friday night so there was "no room at the Inn" so to speak in the dining room which is the "nicer" of the two areas. But I was able to grab a seat at the bar between some very friendly locals who were quickly suggesting entrees to me and offering me sips of their wine. Gotta love small towns! I ordered the mussels to start and they were some of the best I have had. Just the right amount of garlic in the white wine sauce. They also had a little kick to them with red pepper flakes making the taste combination leap off my tongue. Now this is where my story gets a bit off track- as I was going to order either the stuffed chicken or the scallops but a gentleman from down the bar moved my way (I told you the locals were friendly) and said he had ordered me a salad to share with him and a bottle of wine. Well . . .when in Rome . .do as the Romans do so I had a few lovely glasses of a big Cab and half of a salad that was sort of a deconstructed Cobb salad and was delicious! I wish I could have eaten the other half. But this was actually perfect as this place has such delicious warm bread that I had sopped up all that mussel juice with- I really didn't need any more food! I need to go back the next time I am in town as there are so many things I want to try on the menu and I loved the ambiance (sort of a cute little bistro feel). Located in a historic 1890's building, the gleaming copper topped bar, exposed brick walls and large front windows make you feel like you are anywhere but in Northville, MI. And the food with all it's fresh ingredients was perfectly executed. And what I was surprised to find out was this is all from a first time restauranteur, Mishelle Lussier, who I met the night I was there. She told me that they have been open for about 4 years and that the chef was trained by the Schoolcraft College culinary program. Well if they are teaching people to cook this way- Southeastern Michigan should be in restaurant heaven in a few years! Parking is pretty easy on the street here, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food that they are producing. Table 5 is perfect for that romantic evening or just for a casual night out with friends. Table 5 is my new favorite place in the western burbs of Detroit!

My wife and I have been frequenting Table 5 since they opened. We typically start out at the bar with a wine or beer and then enjoy our dinner in the dining room. But lately, we have been staying at the bar to eat. Brain, the bartender is spectacular (he has been there since they opened - which says a lot about their management, because this guy I'm sure has options). The appetizers are unique and very tasty. Love the mussels! We like to try new items on the menu and have not been disappointed. Very friendly. Very cozy. Very good. Can't miss.

It's not too often that I rate a restaurant Excellent in all catergories, and last night I found a restaurant that earned five stars ! Located on Main Street right downtown in Northville, MI, I was referred to Table 5 by a very good friend. We had a birthday occasion to celebrate, so the four of us were seated at a table outside on the sidewalk on Main Street on a beautiful Spring evening last night. We started out with a bottle of Haraszthy Zinfandel ($44) from Napa to match the spicy appetizers we ordered which was a plate of yummy Peppadew peppers stuffed with Boursin cheese and the other app plate was Shrimp in a Bloody Mary sauce (OMG, sooo good!) I wasn't too thrilled with the Harasthzy Zin. (no fault of the restaurant!) I expected a bolder and more peppery Zin from Amador county, and this wine leaned more to a silky Pinot Noir. Our very attentive and knowledgeable waiter, Chad, promptly recommended a red blend from Trinitas winery in Napa ($44) and I was very pleased, as were my tablemates. In fact, Table 5 has a fantastic and varied selection of wines by the glass and bottles, all resonably priced, and a selection of ten wines under $25, and even half bottles, bubbly and magnums! Super Chef Brandon Wolschleger showed off his additional talents by creating an additional special appetizer, seared scallops in a red pepper coulis with a delicate buttery trumpet mushroom which I swore he must've just picked out of the forest. Two of us ordered halibut which was served moist and delicious, on top of a bed of risotto with asparagus. My other friends had lamb sausage on a spicy ciambatta pasta and lastly, a broiled quarter of chicken over pasta noodles. Every dish was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was extremely attentive and told us that he was also studying culinary arts. It makes a world of difference, being served by somene who's a pasionate foodie compared to the normal waiter who's really trying to be a model or actor... "Dessert Martinis" were on the dessert menu. I was tempted, but we chose house made coffee ice cream with sour cream coffee cake and a strawberry gallette...wow! I found absolutely nothing to critique about Table 5. All aspects of food service in a restaurant rate EXCELLENT. The service and food was outstanding, the restaurant is beautiful inside and out. I will be highly recommending this as a go-to restaurant for my colleagues and customers.

My husband and I came here for the tapas and ate out on the patio on a nice fall evening. Very good and we had great service.

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I frequent nicer restaurants as I am into finer cuisine and dinning. This establishment will go down as one of worst dinning experiences. After spending over $300 on drinks, dinning and a bottle of wine; we ordered after dinner drinks (Irish coffee, Sambuca). 5 minutes after receiving our drinks we were asked to move from our table because they had over booked. Obviously they do not appreciate their customers or a complete dinning experience. To top off this ridiculous experience 2 members of our party got food poising. Do yourself a favor and look else where. A lot of other restaurants out there with higher quality of food and a better dining experience. A big thumbs down!

I don't live in the area, but was visiting with a friend and I am so glad she suggested this place! If I am ever back in the area, I definitely want to go back! The service was very prompt and efficient, the atmosphere was upscale and the food was so good! I was even surprised by the prices; for as good as the food was, I was surprised they did not charge more. The only thing I was saddened by was that the menu online did not reflect the menu in the restaurant. The number one item on the online bar bites menu is peppadew poppers, but they were not on the menu. Instead I got the soup of the day and unfortunately I cannot remember what it was called, but it had potato and leek pureed and it was fabulous! I also ordered the hand cut fries (house made fries with parmesan-truffle aioli) and a roasted veggie salad (which is not on the online menu) that included arugula, butternut squash, beets and carrots. My friend ordered a salad with arugula, grapes and goat cheese and a beef small plate and the beef was so tender it melted in my mouth! They have what appeared to be a full bar, but I was disappointed that they did not have a cocktail menu. They do however, have a sizeable wine menu.

Service was good- in fact that would get a slightly higher rating. The food was good but not fabulous or different which is why only 3 stars. I love these smaller, cozy type restaurants but I expect more variation or uniqueness. I had the fish special for the day and it was a dish I could have gotten at any other similar restaurant. Nothing special about it.

4.5 stars really. Super cute northville spot in the super cute northville downtown. In an area truly lacking in gourmet food, here's your spot. Some astonishingly good dishes mixed with super solid dishes make for an almost sure great meal here. We like the dining room but also the tiny but casual bar area, where you can also eat from a limited (but really varied) menu. Reliable and tasty.

One of my best friends moved to Northville with her bf, so I decided to leave Cleveland for a weekend and venture out back to my Ann Arbor area. Northville is a city in itself. It's no Ann Arbor for sure- but they have touristy, cutesy areas, one in which is downtown Northville. There, you can do a various amount of things- wine tasting, shop at boutiques, and EAT. :) The downtown area was decorated for fall, and it was definitely cute- we took a picture with a scarecrow and various pumpkins. haha. We walked around until we reached a restaurant called Table 5. My friend had seen good reviews on it via yelp, so we put our name in (wait time was around 30 minutes?), as the restaurant was full of older, richer individuals (definitely was the only restaurant packed to capacity). We were finally seated outside (it was a great night) and ordered our food. For appetizers, we got the mussels. Oh man, the mussels were okay quality, but that sauce- omg, it was so flavorful. We asked for extra bread just to dip into the sauce. Our meals came out. I ordered the duck special- duck breasts sliced up on sweet potato and napa cabbage. It was pretty good- definitely heavy, and the duck was okay- a little fatty for my preference, but still, okay. My friend got the macademia encrusted halibut- omg, that was SOOOO good. Her boyfriend got the scallops- they were huge scallops and the tenderness was amazing. I liked his dish the best. Overall, great restaurant in Northville. Would make a great place for a date- nice, somewhat classy, and good food.
