Edward's is by far my favorite cafe in the area. There are so many items to choose from--sandwiches, salads, soups, as well as pasta salads and other entrees like mac & cheese and shepherd's pie. My personal favorite sandwich is the basil vegetarian, which has havarti cheese, carmelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and an amazing basil cream sauce. If you order a sandwich, you also get chips and a homemade onion dip--to DIE FOR. Edward's also offers catering, which my family has ordered before. They are very helpful in placing the order, and everything comes fresh and just as amazing as if it were ordered in the cafe. I'd highly recommend Edward's for lunch or for catering--you won't be disappointed!

There is so much perfection going on at Edwards, it is hard to know where to start. As mentioned by Scott, when you first open the door, you will instantly feel a connection to this deli, with its welcoming colors, homey decor, and smells that make your stomach growl. I have always walked by Edwards and read their sign of specials, which have always sounded excellent. I am not sure why I never wandered in before, but before we even tasted the food, I told hubby that we WILL be back for more. After enjoying the atmosphere, you will be overwhelmed by the wide range of unique deli sandwiches, salads, soups and quiches. The friendly staff will patiently wait and give you suggestions as needed. As I waited for my sandwich to be prepared, I drooled over the perfect looking homemade desserts. I am still amazed that I was able to leave without a pie, torte, scone, muffin, cake, or cupcake. I am not sure why I walked out without one, but I have been thinking about them since I left. Edwards has all the elements for the perfect downtown deli and they are going above and beyond as far as service, quantity and quality of food for your money. I plan to make this one of the businesses that I frequent in downtown Northville. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Edward's is one of the best soup/sandwich lunch joints in the area by far. We have gone to lunch here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. There's a large selection of unique sandwiches and at least 3 homemade soups daily. There's also a nice salad selection that isn't just your typical run-of-the-mill salad menu. I have gotten the Basil Vegetarian sandwich many times and it is literally to die for. You will be amazed how well Havarti cheese, tomato, caramelized balsamic onions and homemade basil cream sauce on a baguette taste together. Today I got the soup and sandwich combo which came with chips and a little cup of homemade caramelized onion dip. The split pea soup was good. Velvety and not too thick. Lunch at Edward's doesn't stop at soup, salad and sandwich. There are plenty of quiches, homemade potpies, sophisticated cold salads (egg and chicken types), twice-baked potatoes and more. If you're not too full by the end of your meal, there's a beautiful case full of sweets waiting for you. Once I saw mousse cups and the pink lemonade cookie bars I made room for dessert.

Edwards is a charming little spot in the middle of downtown Northville. It's great for a breakfast muffin and cup of coffee or a fabulous lunch of soup, salad, or sandwich. Everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly. They have awesome cooking classes.

This is by far the coziest atmosphere with the most patient staff. You can tell they enjoy working together and that makes you want to come back. The food is always fresh and the combination of flavors in their sandwiches are wonderfully different than any other cafe. I've also used the catering and it is always top notch. You can go over the top and have an elegant affair or just get PB & J sandwiches! The staff listens well & meets my needs every time. This came in handy when I had to plan a funeral. They gave me peace of mind when there were so many other things to tend to.

I ate the food when it was delivered to Fairlane office center in Dearborn by nice older gentleman. Yum best cakes I ever ate in U.S.

This could've easily been a four-star experience! The food was definitely up to par but the service brang the food and the whole experience down to three stars. My food clearly sat up on the counter for eight minutes before I had to get up and tell them that I would serve myself. Why does it cost one dollar extra to toss the Caesar salad????? How could you be out of prime rib at 2 o'clock in the afternoon????? Get it together Eddie!!!!!!!

I stopped at Edward's on a whim today. The prices startled me slightly, as I remembered from the past, but after opening up my takeout, I remembered it was worth it! I placed a takeout order at the counter and waited just about ten minutes for it to be ready. There were a pair of patrons ahead of me and few came in behind me. For being just 11:00 on a Thursday, they are bringing in a decent crowd for the location, downtown Northville. The crowd seemed to be a fair mix of retired folks, housewives, and local workers. I enjoyed the regular gazpacho and tarragon chicken salad on baguette instead of a croissant. The gazpacho was fresh with just the right amount of spice. I liked the consistency of it, even after warming it to room temperature due to my own delay. When I opened the container, the fresh tomato scent filled the room and made my companions hungry! The sandwich filling was full of chicken and well seasoned. The bread stood up well with the filling, though I left it sitting out several hours before eating. The sandwich came with chips and homemade french onion dip. Solid companions to the sandwich, but not a necessary accompaniment. I also took a 1/2 dozen of gorgeous homemade cookies, but left them with the teenagers in my life, so I'll have to stop by to review some treats soon.

Yum! It is about time for Edward's to receive some recent love. I noticed most reviews date from a while back so I feel it is up to me to let you know that in October '12 this place is still a great place to enjoy friends and noms. Edward's pretty much has anything I could ever ask for. Homemade soups, sandwiches, salads, pastasalads and SWEETS! Holy crap do they have a selection of baked goods. Hailing from Europe, I get excited browsing the chalkboard menu with its European feel. I like finding restaurants/bistro's/cafe's that think outside the box, and serve up an inspired variety of foods versus the same old same. Roast beef and boursin, turkeybreast and gorgonzola cheese, balsamic glazed caramelized onions and basil cream.. Most, if not all products are homemade and ingredients are locally sourced. And I am all for that! Breads and pastries are homemade, they even make their own gougere bread used in many of their sandwiches. Gougere is a *rare* French pastry/bread, made of choux pastry and folded with grated cheese (Parmesan and Asiago at Edwards's though often Gruyere is used as well). Among the sweets are cheesecakes, lemon and seasonal (such as pumpkin) bars, chocolate pastries and.. They even have macarons. Ma-ca-rons. Yeah. The bomb! I love Northville and I love this little place. Thankfully we frequent the nearby bakery, and end up stopping in for lunch here. I'm a fan of the vegetarian basil sandwich with above mentioned onions, lettuce, tomato, havarti cheese and basil cream on a fresh baquette. Being a sucker for anything basil, the pesto pasta salad is a happy addition to my meal also. Sandwiches are served with chips amd homemade onion dip. I hate onion dip (ewwww soggy chips with salty sour cream!) but could not get enough of these.

The food is good for the most part. Pretty overpriced for the products and service they offer. Not worth the value

I have to say after reading these reviews I am surprised. I realize it is hard to find a place to eat these days that offers consistently fresh food but every time I go to Edward's my food is not fresh, rotten avocado or vegetables or it just doesn't taste good. It wouldn't bother me as much if they were at least apologetic but they act so indifferent about it as though it is my problem. I feel they should be making more of an effort to offer fresh food because their prices are not cheap. If I were a dessert person I might feel differently because the desserts do look amazing.

What I love most about this place is that you never know what you will find inside their display each visit! The salads, sides and desserts always look incredible! And they always have a creative variety of items to choose from to go alongside a sandwich, wrap or homemade soup. Don't get me started on the soups. They are all homemade. My favorite is the bean & ham. Ever since Bill Knapp's shut down, I have been on a quest to find the perfect replica of their bean & ham soup and their tuna salad sandwich. Wheeelp, my quest ends here for the soup! It is exactly the same.... the navy beans are partly pureed and there are just enough chunks of ham. I wish they had it on the menu every day! Other good choices are the vegetable bisque and beef barley. mmmm. Their sandwiches are what you would expect. The ingredients are fresh and they are always tasty. I have tried the Northville Rueben and a few others that were "sandwiches of the day". I've never been let down. Now to find that perfect BK tuna salad sandwich....

How do I love thee Tarragon chicken salad sandwich, side salad and chips with homemade french onion dip? So very very much. Great spot, very cozy. Can't beat the downtown Northville location. The salads are easy on the taste buds too!

I have been going here for 20 years and yes, the food is good, fresh and the staff is always friendly. The one point I had to write today is that 2 times in the last year I have had to question the amount of my bill. One time a carryout bill should have been $18 and change and it became $26. and theother it was $4.00 over. Was in last week...had the quiche which is always good and I asked for a small portion of the broccoli & Chicken salad. BEWARE.......when you Dine in and they give you a plate of one of their salads they do not weigh it and just pick a $ to charge you. They tried to charge me $6.75 for what they (after I objected to the price) 4 oz of their $12.00 a pound salad. Good food But....................................

Went in for a quick lunch and grabbed an open table. The salads were fresh and tasty and all of the sandwiches our table had were delicious. Got a creme brulee to go... Yumm.

While working at the Buy Michigan Now festival in Northville this weekend I found myself hungry for a bite to eat. This little gem was right behind us and after seeing people pop in and out all day I decided to give them a try. The Large door opened to a quaint little deli with small tables, some along their large streetside windows and a large deli counter in the back filled with absolutely beautiful desserts, pastries, salads, and the like. Their sandwhich selections are far from ordinary, sounding simply delicious with blends of pesto, boursin cheese, chutney's, & more. I had the pesto chicken sandwhich and it was simply wonderful with just the right amount of chips on the side. The pricing was also spot-on. Very nice. It's unfortunate that Northville is so off the beaten path, but if you happen to be out there and don't mind a jaunt into town, this is one deli that's worth it.

I don't mean to be a contrarian. And for all I know, I have hit Edward's at bad times. But... 1. A place that calls itself a cafe should have good coffee. This one does not have good coffee. 2. The other reviewers seem to like the soup and sandwiches here. A lot. This gives me pause. But... 3. While the sandwiches I have had here have been ok, the soup has, like the coffee, been consistently substandard. So...while this place seems to have a following, it leaves me wondering why. Rebecca's is just down the road if you want great sandwiches or soup. The Tuscan cafe is too if you want some decent coffee. I recommend them both much more highly than Edward's.
