Can't believe pizza king doesn't have a review yet! This place for me is the best pizza spot in town. I might be biased because I have been coming to this place for a long time. Love that I get write the first review. I particularly like thinner crust pizzas and pizza king's pizzas are not heavy on the dough and I like that. Their sauce is amazing. Their toppings are always fresh. My girlfriend is gluten free and they have gluten free pizzas. Thank you! Otherwise I would be eating by myself a lot. I recently got into their pizza flips. I suggest getting the full. Eat half and you still have a real good meal the next day. Salads are good. I have had better cheese bread and breadsticks but are still worth getting. The place in itself is pretty small but it is nice and clean in there and it makes for a comfortable supper with the family. There is not a bad thing I can say about this place. I love it and everything on their menu. Just writing about it is making me hungry I know where I am eating tonight. Pizza king!

This is where love at first bite with A# 12 happened for me. Oh the bread, it's the beast bread in the world! They bake it themselves and it's the perfect size and it taste soooo wonderful! Everything in #12 is delicious and you have to get real mayo. Not the light kind. Makes a big difference! And thank you so much for all the late night deliveries at 1 a.m. Rain or snow, Jimmy John's was always there freaky fast.

Delicious!!! I had the corned beef hash omelet and it was so good. Food was delivered promptly and service was great. Will definitely be back.
This restaurant was absolutely amazing! We were in town and had a group of 20 people and called ahead to warn them we were coming and Karen was willing to start snagging tables for our group. The food was fantastic and the service was over the top. It was fun seeing locals having their morning coffee and clearly enjoying their time there. It was like walking into our grandma's kitchen - we loved it!
As diners go, this is probably the best one around here. Service is always friendly, but can be a bit slow when they're swamped. The Biscuits & Gravy are great. Crisp breading, excellent meat, and perfect gravy. The Country Skillet is very good (was a little heavy on the onions, though). Pretty much everything is a solid choice, but the one time I got Catfish it was way soggy and gross, so there's that. This place can get pretty busy, so you may want to be mindful of avoiding the rush hours. They recently discontinued porch service due to the inability to keep up with that many tables.

i love this bar! on a thursday we would go for happy hour and double up on cocktails, play darts and then order a grilled cheese with pickles on the side. who am i kidding...we went there pretty much every night. i miss my old standby. luv you Sue!
Stopped in here for a few decompression beers while in town for work. The bar itself is bigger than I thought it would be. You can tell it isn't really a tourist bar. It's much more of a local/college bar. The night we stopped in, Wednesday, they had $2 domestic bottles and $2.50 bush light 25 ouncers on special. I decided to partake of both. I also ordered this moon bread that everyone keeps talking about. I found out they talked about it with good reason. It's essentially extremely delicious stuffed bread sticks with a side of sauce of your choice. I can't help but love them even though they were so full of cheese and peperoni I was already pre-planning extra cardio the next day. I like it. I see why it's popular and if I lived here I would frequent this place for sure. Any place that's clean and I can knock quite a few back while having delicious eats for less than $20 (with tip) is great in my book. The fact that it's a decent place full of nice people is just icing on the cake.
Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows Your name. I miss the Bird

Green Spot Pub

Reviews:
There is no better place in MtP than the Green Spot. I spent many a night here with my townie friends and we were treated very well here. All of my carnivorous friends love their steak hoagies. The bar food in general is good here and they have really well-priced drinks. I really miss being a regular at the Green Spot. The only thing that I don't miss is trying to find a parking spot in the tiny lot!
I have been to several pubs throughout the Midwest but find the Green Spot to be the best. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the bartenders and servers are friendly and efficient and to top it off the food is amazing. If you haven't had their Reuben, you are missing one of the best sandwiches you have ever had. The don't use deli corned beef but true slow roasted thick cut brisket that melts in your mouth. The bar is fully stocked and drinks are reasonably priced. If you enjoy a nice pint or prefer a large mug they have you covered. According to a previous reviewer "If you want to play keno, don't come here" I have never had a problem with that here but that is not the main reason to go to a restaurant or bar. You go there to spend time with your family and friends and enjoy the moment. If gambling is what you truly would like to do...go a few miles down the road to The Soaring Eagle Casino. However, if you want to go to a great pub...go to the Green Spot.
I've driven past the Green Spot innumerable times in my life...I was always intrigued by the Irish-and-proud exterior and the number of cars that always seem to be crowded into the parking lot...this past week my partner and I finally decided to satisfy our curiosity by checking the place out for lunch. I have to say -- the interior, while having a certain coziness to it (two fireplaces on either side) , says "drinking bar" more than "eating and drinking bar." And when we stopped in, around noon on a weekday, there were more people who seemed to be there taking the edge off than enjoying lunch. An interesting clientele, too -- two couples who looked to be professionals at lunch, four pool players, a table of folks who looked like shift workers, a few wayward college students or campus-town hangers-on, two ladies with bouffant hair and abundant makeup who looked like they just walked out of "Hairspray" and a couple elders who looked to be frequent fliers up at the bar. We ordered off the "menu," a laminated placemat-looking thing -- the shaved prime rib hoagie with sauteed onions and mushrooms, which we split between the two of us (10 ounces of beef makes for a big sammy), onion rings and deep-fried mushrooms. (The menu includes about 8 or so variations of hamburger, numerous sandwiches including two corned-beef customer favorites, chili, soup of the day, and a couple of steak options -- in other words, a basic bar menu.) Our waitress was friendly if a little harried, and told us we were being "so nice" (which made us wonder about the number of not-nice patrons!). Our sandwich was...good; very good bun, abundant meat, not too dry. The onion rings, which come with that particular sandwich, were beer-battered; nice flavor. The fried mushrooms were tasty but nothing special. Would we go back for lunch? Probably not. Do we think it would be a fun place to hang out on, say St. Patrick's Day or some other Irish-pride event? Oh, sure.

First Wok Chinese Restaurant

4140 E Blue Grass Rd
Mount Pleasant, 48858
Reviews:
Very cheap lunch specials (under or equal to $5!!). Service there is very timely and always with a smile. The lady working at the counter even remembers customers and what they usually like to order, after a while. Additionally, there's a separate menu for those that can read mandarin (REALLY GOOD STUFF). Everything on the general menu is excellent; however, you cannot walk out of this restaurant without trying their dumplings! I personally prefer boiled, but fried is also very good. Best place in town for Chinese food, hands down (both american chinese and authentic).
All others Chinese restaurants pale in comparison. First Wok is the absolute best Chinese food I have ever had and the most affordably priced. When I lived in Mt. Pleasant, First Wok was a very regular part of my diet. Since I have moved away, there has been a hole in my heart that needs to be filled by food this good. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful and is cooked incredibly quickly. I highly recommend going at lunch time because the specials are super cheap for the amount of food you get (usually less than $5). My favorites are the chicken in garlic sauce and the roast pork lo mien. The garlic sauce meals are full of vegetables and have plenty of the fantastically spicy sauce. The lo mien in is super filling with a lot of noodles and it still comes with rice. I like first wok so much I created a yelp account just to review it. Seriously the best Chinese food and probably the best restaurant in Mt. Pleasant.
This a great place for tasty, inexpensive Chinese food. The menu is vast and judging by the lunch crowd the place is a favorite with the locals.

Love it! Yes, it's tacky. Yeah, it's a little unsophisticated. Uh-huh, it's sloppy. But it's great rib-sticking grub for cheap. I thought it tasted great when I was sober, I can imagine it would make for great drunk food.
The dubs are absolutely delicious! I find them best to eat right away or else they tend to get a little soggy but either way they are to die for!
Great sub sandwich with some awsome alternatives than what you're used to. Combine that with their witty and fun atmosphere and it's a great place to eat. Plus, it's very quick to get your food from!

Pho Viet

Reviews:
I fell in love with Pho in the Bay Area of California and this place took me back... The Pho Ga, Thai Tea, and fresh Spring Rolls were amazing. I see myself frequenting Pho Viet for lunch now that I work in the area!!
The place was nice and clean. Great hospitality, the owner even came out and ask if the food was okay. Great service, would come back if we are in town.
We ordered from Pho Viet take out on Feb. 27, 2015. It is absolutely delicious! Luckily each item on the menu has a letter/number designation because attempting pronunciation of these dishes over the phone is quite difficult. The beef pho (Pho Tai Bo Vien & Chin) was light, flavorful, fresh and filling all at the same time. The steamed spring rolls (Goi Cuon) were seriously addictive, but you didn't feel like you were over eating. One day I will definitely push my limit on those! Lastly, the noodles with shrimp, beef and fried spring rolls (Bun Tom Thit Nuong Cha Gio) fit in with the rest of our order and gave us a good sampler of the entire menu. It too was wonderful. I urge you to visit this place if you're looking for a healthy, flavorful meal out while not spending a ridiculous amount of money. Our total bill was about $27. That other review is flat-out incorrect - a single portion is big enough for two people. I will definitely be back.
