Ever since the dawn of my birth I have searched the far depths of the earth for a food that is worthy enough to be tasted by the gods. I have found that here in the most Devine food ever tasted by the flesh. Wings, they are delicious, tangy, spicy, and savory. Not only that, but they are less than 10 dollars!!!! If you never have eaten meat, or given it up, or never planned on that, give up everything, but before you do.. try these wings!!!

Growing up in Monroe, my friends and I would go there literally twice a week for the longest time. We went to other places occasionally, but Pete's was always our first choice. It was always the place to go. We knew the owner, most of the wait staff, and were seen as regulars. Their wings were addicting, and the beer selection was good. However, in recent years, things have changed, and my friends and I simply don't go there anymore. If your group is too big, they will sit you in the dreaded upstairs area, where it seems like service is exceptionally bad. There was no doubt about it: sit up stairs, get bad service. So, if you're going somewhere to eat/drink for a birthday party or whatever, don't go to Pete's if you have anything else planned for the night. There have been times where our group would be seated and it would be over an hour before we actually got our food. These weren't just one-time occasions. I don't know what takes longer: finding a parking spot or actually getting something to eat. There was a tremendous decrease in the quality of the wait staff. If they were busy (boo-hoo, get a different job then) or something went wrong with your order, they were never courteous about it. My friend's wings came to the table cold, so he said something. They waitress took them back, and it was over 30 more minutes before he got his food. Of course, we laughed at him until we realized we wanted refills that never happened since she disappeared. Make sure you order two or three pitchers for your table at once, because the server won't come back, especially if she has to walk upstairs. Do NOT order one of those really tall beer thingies either for your table, because that beer is gross... but I guess those things are disgusting no matter where you go. If you just want some wings, go to BWW (their parmesan garlic wings are better anyway), and if you just want to drink, go to Larson's or the bowling alley. If you want to spend most of your night in a crowded, loud, and poorly served environment, go to Pete's.

Filthy fresh food. Just like how I described. Very disappointed went for dinner and didn't have any dinner. All their waitresses are hand picked with huge smiles. Will never return there again. There's a small local pizza shop across which is a lot better than this garage.

The food is horrible. I've eaten here many times and tried most of the menu. The only thing half way decent are the fried pickles and pizza. This place is much better for just grabbing drinks.

We went back to Pete's Garage the other night. The food is good. I had a yummy bar burger. What made it a great night was the service. It was packed, as usual, but the server went out of her way to bring our toddler food in advance. When our munchkin dropped her hot dog on the floor, our server was very gracious and asked the cooks to make another. The cooks made a whole new meal! The cherry on top was eating our meal inside one of the classic cars, while munchkin's meal was served in a classic car shaped box. Too cute!

Update 1/12/14 Pete's still rules when I'm in Monroe. Even Sunday nights find plenty of people and fun. The wait staff and bartenders are highly efficient. Not sure what I'll eat tonight , but Yukon Jack is my drink, and Lori is my sweetie.

Pete's Garage has an identity crisis. Is it a restaurant? A sports bar? A meat rack? It may be OK for borderline alcoholic singles under 40, but it isn't for families. The food is below average and the bimbo waitstaff is lame. News flash: they are not interested in you... just your wallet. If it's delicious wings you seek, the Monroe Rod and Gun Club has 50 cent wings on the 2nd Friday of the month, and they are bigger and better than anything else you'll find.

Petes Garage always has the best wings in town. Added buffalo shrimp today. On Tuesday wings are special of day but still was place to go today after drive to local Sterling State Park. The many TV's help also. . Also good are calzones and burgers.

went for a co-workers birthday party. not a regular to Monroe but it was easy to find and signage was clear. the parking is small and weird. apparently there is one way in and one way out but there are no signs to indicate that and I went in thru the exit so finding a parking spot was a tad hard but thankfully I found an open spot next to the motel next door. walking inside I was surprised at how wide and open it was. there are stairs to the right when you walk in and the bar is backlit with pretty lights and bottles. a lot of tables and a few booths. our party was upstairs and it was very roomy with about three sections separated for a few parties going on. atmosphere was a bar feel and it was LOUD. very LOUD. there is a lot of stimulation going on with bright tvs and loud pop music. I'm usually ok with that but I lost 90% of the conversations that was going on. thank goodness I can read lips but I still didn't get some complex information from the conversation because it's so loud. I did a lot of smiling and nodding at the times that seemed appropriate. I looked to see the staff and because it's baseball season, they were wearing different tigers shirts and different pants/shorts/skirts. there is no cohesion or unity at all. I thought our waitress was a patron until I saw her pull out a pen and paper. there is nothing that sets them apart. we were just ordering apps so I ordered the quesadillas without meat and a side of guacamole. WOW, the portion was a dinner size portion and I was happy about that. when I had the guac the first thing I said was whoa, they make this just like I make mine. the right amount of salt and everything. usually guac has tomato and they were either finely minced or they don't mix it in...either way, that guac is what I would go back for. I ordered an amaretto sour and it was not too strong, not too weak. pretty much what I could handle since I don't drink that often AND they put in 3 cherries which made me happy. I can't complain about the drink. as I was looking around I had to hunt for the garage theme or at least car feel and I didn't get that until I came out of the bathroom and saw the two booths that had car tops over them. oh. ok. that's it?? I was looking for car décor or tools and toolboxes or SOMETHING but I didn't get the garage thing. they would do better to just change it to Pete's. overall it's a pretty decent place, and I would go with friends if it was suggested. if you are looking for a quiet place to relax after work, this is not the place for it. the staff were friendly and had no problem adjusting my meatless order. good customer service.

This bar & grill actually has pretty good food and a lot of draft beer. The only thing I don't understand is their logic behind their restrictions when it comes to wing night. Like, how are you gonna charge me extra if I'm not able to finish eating my wings and wanna take them to go? Haven't been back since because of that incident.

This is a Monroe institution. Great food, lots of tv's. Wing night is Tuesday, best wings ever. Great owners. From papa Pete, to Johnny and Joe. Have had great memories over the years. Will come back when visiting from Texas.

My husband brought me home dinner from here and after I feed my kids and ate some I found a water bottle lid in the lettuce........how gross wish I would have seen it before we ate the food!!!!

Came in here last night with my buddy. We split wings and the beef tips. The wings were good, but in retrospect, I probably would have preferred to order them plain and then dipped them in the sauce after the fact. The sauce made them pretty soggy. They are, however, bigger than the standard chicken wing. 7.99 for 10 is a good value. The beef tips were good, but nothing extraordinary. I probably would venture to try something else next time. They had $1 burgers on Monday. Neither of us tried them, but I thought it was a really good deal nonetheless. His first drink was a dewars on the rocks, which came out looking like vodka - pretty much clear. I'm not one to complain about a pour...but I thought this was exceptionally light. I was drinking $2 bottles of Bud Light so no complaints there. The service was phenomenal. I stood in the doorway for about 30 seconds (after I had been helped) and two other servers asked me if I had been helped. So...it was nice that not one person walked by without acknowledging my presence. The menu seemed pretty extensive and varied for bar fare. I'd like to come back and try a couple other items. I'm kind of at a 3.5 with this place, but when I have to choose between 3 and 4, I think 3 is more appropriate for the time being. Don't spend too much time in Monroe, but if I'm in the area again I'll definitely consider giving Pete's another go around.

I have been going to Pete's garage my whole life. I hated going there after getting food poisoning twice over the course of my life. It's more of a place to go and drink now ( can't really screw that up). Some of there food is good most of it is cheap and nasty. They always have new servers in their every time I go, which in my opinion is a sign of poor management. Last time we went it's was 12am on a Tuesday. The place was dead and we wanted 1/2 price apps. There were 3 servers standing around doing nothing. It took this girl 30 mins to get our drink and order. Then another 40 mins and she brought out the wrong food. The food was greasy and cold. Then she tried to charge us for the food she messes up!! And when she brought my card back she slammed it on the table and ran away. We have not been back since.

While the atmosphere is fun, the food was a little lacking. Our son really enjoyed being able to eat inside the old car. Their beer selection is decent, and the service was good. The beef hard tacos were soggy and bland. The vegetarian fajitas were ok, pretty much your average run of the mill fajita. Nothing special.

The food is ok. Had nachos today they are so so. Their burgers are good though. Lots of tv's good place to catch a game. Great craft beer selection. However the parking lot is terrible. It needs to be redesigned for better flow. We go here once in awhile however if the lot looks full we go elsewhere.

This place holds a special place for me, as I had my first date with my wife there 18 years ago. The other night we sat in the exact car booth we did then. We both ordered burgers medium well, but were disappointed when they arrived beyond well done and quite dry. I had struggled with the menu, because everything seemed boring and nothing inspired me at all, so I ordered the burger as a last resort to see if they could do something special with that. Though the food was lame, the car booth was really neat and made the visit worth it to show our eight year old where we first dated.

I've been going to Pete's for years, surviving many changes in the floor plan and the menu. It's a unique place, especially if you get to sit in one of the cars. I don't have kids but I'd imagine they would love that sort of thing. The place is kind of segmented, with a bar area, a seating area with the cars, another larger seating area on the second floor, and a sort-of-basement area with some pool tables. I used to come here all the time to play pool, but they don't have as many tables as they used to have. Most have disappeared since the remodel about ten years ago or so. Kind of shame but I don't think that was their greatest source of business. Lots of television screens so you can catch just about every game that's on especially if you're downstairs. Upstairs there's a large projector screen that usually has the big game of the day on. The parking lot is HORRIBLE and they should be ashamed of it. Since the remodel it's been a pain to park here. I'm sure there's a guideline they're meeting with a parking spaces to square footage ratio, but you run the risk of getting trapped in a spot or having your car dinged when you park here. For that reason, I rarely go when it's busy anymore and that's a shame because that's when Pete's is most fun. Food here is usually pretty great... I like the Cadillac Club (HUGE club sandwich), the pizza sub, and the regular old Garage Burger with cheese. A lot of my friends enjoy their fajitas. They're trying to promote more unique beers these days, but they do a poor job at it. There's a beer menu but it's not what they're actually serving. It's just a bunch of logos. Their "craft" beers are often big brewery products and I'm not sure the staff know any different, but it's not their fault.

Hadn't been here for years. Little has changed, including the menu. Very little vegetarian. Got the Southern Chicken Salad, and waitress helpfully suggested a half size; and it was plenty. Lots of chicken; missed romaine lettuce - only iceberg. Would have loved a hard boiled egg too. But still good. Hubby got the swiss/mushroom burger w/ onion rings. said it was good and we would gladly return in the future. Waitress attentive and checked back a number of times. Still has the cars to eat in if one so desires...

Third visit...food is always very good but it takes a little time to arrive. Generally worth the wait.

My friends love this place and go often, but I'm not sure why. They have a couple cars you can eat in, but I've gotten to eat in one. The building isn't great, there isn't enough parking, service is pretty slow, it's ridiculously loud for no apparent reason, and the food is pretty bad quality. Definitely not my first choice for food.

Pete's is a Monroe staple. It has been around forever. The food is typical bar, but for bar food it's definitly the best in Monroe. The atmosphere is really fun. As to sit in one of the cars. I have had lots of things on their menu and never really been to disappointed. Taco night on Thursdays is fun and they have $1 margaritas that night. It a great place to eat in Monroe.

Friday 5/17/13 I had their Fish Fry all you can eat $9.99. The cod looked good but had no flavor and it was watery under the batter.

I love the ribs. The service is a hit or miss. If I had to pick I would avoid going upstais because the service isn't as quick when seated up there. There are old cars that give the place a great experience for kids and my teens. I'd give it 5 stars if I could say the service is great and all the food is great. The ribs, calzone, and fried ice cream are the 5 star foods.

Decent! Great steak and bake special and friendly staff. Only gripe would be smells a little funky and not a great beer selection if you want anything other than sub premium domestics. Clean bath room and parking on side.

Don't ever get takeout. You'll get burnt, inedible cold food. Apparently no care or quality control on what leaves the kitchen. Some of the food on the menu is good, but you never know how long the ingredients have been in the kitchen. I guess they care most about being a bar, and they're probably good enough at that - but food and sports are better at bww, so there's not much need to go here.

Fun place hang out for a night. They have beer towers and a big menu. The more basic the food is on the menu the better it tastes for some reason. And really bad pizza.

Pete's has a fun enviornment with a good menu and good food. It's always neat to be seated in a classic car! Their prices are decent, and I've never had bad service. Make sure to order the fried ice cream; it's delicious, not expensive, and you get enough for two!

The food was ok, but the table was sticky and the establishment very loud. I still give this place 3 stars though because they have great drink specials and low prices.

I wish I had a Pete's up here to go to, as it is an hour away now, but when I visit my friends that live near there, we always go hang out at Pete's. Great food (their fish and chips are delicious), cheap drinks and we always have a great time there.

Great place for the Wings special other that it is an average place. Limited selection of beers although I might be bias since I do live in Ann Arbor now. Good service and lots of seats.

Pete's is our favorite local hangout. A sports bar, a huge menu, quick friendly service......all rolled into one. My fav meal is the Charley P's Tuna Melt with extra crispy curly fries. Yum.

The food is okay, regular-ish bar fare. You go to pete's for the atmosphere. They have some seating in old cars which is fun. The atmosphere is nice and my husband loves it, so I know we'll be back.
