Found this place on Yelp, have been here a few times also with wife. Nothing fancy about the place but their Lo Mein is very tasty and we always order our food extra hot. This has become our go-to place for chinese as we didn't find other restaurants in the area very tasty. Prices may seem a bit high but they put lots of veggies including mushroom in their servings. Overall a little gem!
Stopped in for lunch Overall good flavor descent prices Nice portions, clean and friendly Will return
The food is always good and no other chinese place compares to this establishment. The almond ckicken or general chicken we usually order and it is never overbreaded or dried out and the rice always taste fresh.

Thanks to all of Brian S.'s reviews, I made a quick edit to my GTFO Detroit Farewell Food Bucketlist, and stopped by Jack's while down in that godforsaken neighborhood on another errand. It was easy to find, there's a good parking lot, and the woman behind the counter's nice. A buck or so for a cherry turnover, which kept my hunger at bay until dinner. If you live in this neighborhood, you should be walking/driving here for your baked goods. Smells, looks, and tastes great. They accept credit cards (I think it's a $5 minimum).
Made a quick stop in the other day... Pizza rolls still rocking good, tried a meatball sub, pretty tasty...&&&& I just can't leave w/out a couple of those most decadent desert dish... I never say it correct, so spelling it, is totally out!! But, I surely enjoy eating it!! It's name starts with a C... It's like..aumm!! Cartouchish??? It's like a giant fresh deeper fried sugar donut... &&& it's filled w/ the creamy ricotta cannoli & mini chocolate chip filling! Yes, I do believe that they have these in heaven!
This is a little Italian spot on Allen road, If you drive too fast, you'll miss it - it's that small..... but they have wonderful apricot kifli, walnut too, and all the fattening little things, that I really should avoid...but sometimes the car just steers itself there! Their pepperoni rolls are good too.. worth a stop!

Reviews:
Amazing food!! 100% authentic polish! If it's your first time, get the combination plate. If you're polish, you'll most likely love it!! Customer service, not the best but I guess it depends who were talking about.. When I was there, our waitress was great but there were two other waitresses bickering about whether or not a table was cleaned good. One said "I don't know! IS IT?!", sarcastically and quite rudely while she was frantically moving all the silver wear and place matts into a pile and telling the other woman to clean it herself.. The placemats were then left in the corner in a pile and the table was never cleaned by either of them. When some customers came in to sit there, a different waitress came and fixed there placemats and silver ware.. I was a little taken back by this kind of behavior from the two girls.. They were obviously both aggravated for one reason or another but this is no way to act at work in front of customers! Seating arrangement was pretty screwy with no room to move your chair out and barely room to walk past tables. I was uncomfortable the whole time eating because I was right up against the table while my chair was touching the person's behind mine (We were both of average size). Food gets 5 stars!! Everything else, makes this business fall to 3 stars, unfortunately.
What an adorable place. I stumbled on the reviews while looking for a place to grab lunch while I was in Allen Park for work. My food was good, hot, and served with a smile. I may even come back here, and it's an hour from my place. Give it a try!
It is difficult to find good Polish food in this area. I frequent Sabina's when I want a nice home cooked meal, or am craving pierogi's. Their stuffed cabbage, meatballs, and pierogi are my favorite, and prices are reasonable for sure. I have never been there for breakfast but heard that is great, too.

Reviews:
Copypasta from the New Canton Inn page that has it listed as a Detroit address... I've been going here since I was a little girl. This place has the best, HANDS DOWN, crab cheese rangoons that I've ever had. I've been to many fancy and not-so-fancy Chinese places and no one does crab cheese like them. My Mom calls them "bonnets" simply because it is a MOUND of crab and cream cheese that is pinched in the wrap and fried. Most places only give you 3-4, but I believe you get 6 or 8 at New Canton Inn. This alone makes them my favorite. Their prices are super affordable, and I'm usually splitting my meal with 1-2 people because the portions are so large. (After you have a couple crab ragoons, soup, and an eggroll, there's not much room left) I'm so glad that they are still open today, and I think they are better than P.F. Chang's by far.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. It was our family's go-to Chinese place and I've kept the tradition alive. The dinner prices are reasonable. With a $10 entree, you get a TON of food... I'm talking enough food to share between two people and enough for leftovers the next day! It also comes with soup, an eggroll and of course, a fortune cookie. The service is good. The place is never busy, so they've got plenty of time to pay attention to you. Cups don't stay empty long and they're happy to bring extra sauce or veggies or whatever else it is you need. It's pretty busy when it comes to take-out, so if you don't want to eat inside, just call your order in. Their dining room is pretty large and could accommodate a pretty large group. It has booths and tables so you've got your choice of where to enjoy your meal. The place has no windows. I don't know why but I'm pretty sure that creeps me out. Besides that... great place for a nice Chinese dinner.
Traditional Chinese food and was very good. I ordered a Szechuan combination plate on the back page of the menu. It was soup, an egg roll, two fried shrimp AND an entree all for under $10. It was more than I could eat! Everything tasted wonderful.

Fredi’s Pizza Pasta

17900 Allen Rd

Reviews:
This place has outstanding New York style, thin crust pizza. The lunch slices are huge New York style slices. I've also had the pasta, and it was very good. There are tables to dine in, but it's not a dine in restaurant and there is no waitstaff. The inside has a very cool Detroit sports theme with tons of pictures. The employees and owner are very friendly, I talk sports with the owner whenever I come. Oh, I almost forgot, the prices are very reasonable as well. Overall you get very good food and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
I grew up in the area and I'm always rooting for local businesses. Fredi's is a small take out place with one or two little booths if you are going to sit down quickly and eat. I've only had the pizza from Fredi's and I'm unimpressed. Although I've had worse, I've definitely had better. It's not something I would consider ordering again. It definitely doesn't make me want to try anything else there but I may give them another chance someday.
Just tried the toasted italian and it was fantastic. Nice people, very friendly, clean little shop.

The food is good, and you can't beat the drink specials. It's a small place, so you might have to fight for your table. The service is usually not good, but you'll get over it.
I like the place Best Fish and Chips locally Cod fried to perfection. Nice little dive to stop in grab a bite and a drink reasonably priced.
Tough to beat on a Thursday night. Steak special $5.95 includes potato and veggie. If you are thirsty bucket of beer $10. Last time I was here was a year ago. I come every time I get in the area.

Reviews:
I have to tell you this place is utter disappointment. I have probably visited the place 7 or 8 times and at least half of those times my experience with the staff has been downright despicable. The restaurant is primarily comprised of young men and women. This is not an issue of course, but it seems as if they use the place more as a social gathering site than a place of work. They use their cell phones on the job, gab about their social activities, don't operate with a sense of urgency, and are ALWAYS understaffed. Meanwhile, the long lines keep building in the restaurant and at the drive thru. One time I had the server scold me because he misunderstood my request even though it was as simple as you will get. This morning, I showed the server the menu item I was interested in, exactly as written, and he still didn't understand. He gave me a hard time about its content with his "I'm a young tough punk who knows it all" attitude. Another time, one of his coworkers told me I didn't order a combo properly and it was my fault that I didn't get a menu item I asked for. Really guys? They apparently can't understand English with whatever dialect they call their own. I am an intelligent, well-educated man and I don't need to be insulted by a bunch of young losers. This last visit, I walked out on the server I was so upset. I will NEVER be back. This place needs to ditch its staff, hire adults who actually want to work, and perhaps people like me will return. Very poor representation of the well-running Tim Horton's restaurants I have come to enjoy. And I have been to several.
