I love the Turkey Farm! I give it five stars for character and things to see and do. I think the cafeteria style eating is quirky and quaint. I love the fact that they sell beer, and the desserts alone are worth the drive. After lunch, you have to have ice cream, fudge, caramel corn, or any number of other goodies sold in the building. And you can't forget to walk through the store and buy some bread or just look around for the experience. That doesn't include anything that might be going on outside! Turkeyville is always a good time! My boyfriend and I went on one of our first dates there and had a blast! Of course, it's great for families, too!

It has kind of the flavor of a 'Cracker Barrel' restaurant, with a very nice gift shop. I was not too impressed with the food, as it has kind of a cafeteria feel to it and the main dish is turkey. I understand it is a favorite for locals on Thanksgiving that do not want to cook that day. They have a great ice cream shop, and I enjoyed that. The grounds are lots of fun for kids, but the little stores outside of the main building were not very special. There is sometimes a flea market on the grounds, and that is sometimes a great place to visit and spend a few hours. The main building itself has a dinner theatre, which I have never attended, but I have heard that it is a nice experience.

Really not too bad, considering what the place is. I remember going here ever since I was a litttttle tot, and to be honest, it all looks the same. Our family would usually find our way over during art and craft fairs in which the place would be hoppin' with people and tons of crafts. I would always enjoy going over to the gift shop, eating lunch, playing in the arcade, looking at the model trains inside the shop, and riding the little train around. I'm not sure if I'm disappointed or not that it all looks the same. Some areas look a bit run down, including the inside of the restaurant that has definitely gotten itself stuck in some time zone that isn't right now. But, for a family restaurant that's built on tradition, what can you expect? The ice cream shop and arcade are essentially the same and it the tunes they were STILL playing in the arcade immediately took me back to being 10 years old. Now to the food and service, it was A-OK (as the 3 stars would say). I had a cup of turkey noodle soup which was piping hot with big homemade noodles and big chunks of turkey, although it could've used a good dose of salt. I also had a half turkey sandwich with it and that idea seemed to throw all of the servers off. I asked for a simple turkey sandwich on regular bread with lettuce and tomato, and it first came out as turkey on regular bread (no veggies). I asked for them to be added and they passed them back, only adding lettuce that time. The sandwich went back again for the tomato and I finally obtained the sandwich I first requested. Overall the flavor of the turkey was great but it was just downright dry, sadly. The service was friendly and apologetic about the multiple mix-ups of my traveling sandwich, so that made up for it. Although coming from a foodservice background with some safety/sanitation in mind, it did bother me that the same person who was handling money was also heavily handling my sandwich plate as it traveled back and forth without changing gloves or washing hands.

My wife and I went to Conwell's Turkey Ville to have our Thanksgiving dinner in September. Well we did the dinner and show and the turkey dinner was delicious I had two portions and I was stuffed. But the most amazing thing was the show. This show should be in New York City and Los Angeles it was that good, I was shocked how good the talent was when I was there. So if you ever go to Michigan try to book a day at Conwell's Turkey Ville and do the dinner and show you will not be disappointed. It is a family-friendly place.

I've been coming here for 30+ years and still love the Turkey Salad. The new items on the menu are nice like beer, new deserts, new sandwiches and more cheeses. Bikes nights are a blast with good music cold beer and monster BBQ Turkey legs. Ask for a turkey salad in a waffle cone it will blow your mind!! While I haven't been to a show yet I have seen that they are well attended and sever cocktails. The ice cream and other sweets like fudge and popcorn are done well. If you Crave the turkey salad like I do they have a deli in the gift shop and you can take as much as you can afford. This is a very family friendly place to come anytime of the year!!

I ordered the Turkey Diner. Overall, the portion was on the smaller side for my appetite. The actual turkey and gravy was good, also the stuffing. The "mashed potatoes" tasted like they were the flake kind you buy in a box. The roll tasted like the kind my grandmother would buy, a slab of squares; you would just break one off upon demand. The coleslaw was a bit intense; a bit too much vinegar. The cranberries were fresh; however, a bit sour. The ambience overall was interesting as well.

A great place to visit for a delicious homestyle turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Theatre is a must. "Yakety Yak" is wonderful. Good food, good fun at a reasonable cost. Don't drive by and miss a great experience.

I would have never known this place existed if it wasn't for my in laws telling me where it was. There was no signage that I saw on the highway for it. What a great treat! The place was packed on the Friday night we were passing through. They even had a live band outside. We waited in the line to order our food and perused the chalkboard menu as we tried to make our decisions. I ordered the turkey hot plate and it was turkey with gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. This place is legit! So good! It was Thanksgiving in July! I had to get a scoop of ice cream in the little shop where they also have fudge. There was a whole other side to shop in, but I didn't get to try that on this trip. I will definitely stop back when we are through the area again!

This place reminds me of a tourist trap you might pass when driving out west on Route 66. We should have known better and just turned around when we pulled into a parking lot full of tour busses but we continued on inside to turkey hell. The inside decor is like Cracker Barrel on steroids. We were the youngest people in the joint by at least 40 years yet the cafeteria style dinning was reminiscent of my college dorm. I was so disappointed by the food. Dry turkey with bland gravy and stuffing, like a mediocre thanksgiving cooked by my 90 year old grandmother who is just too tired to care. The pies must have been store bought and the crusts were tasteless. I could see turkeyville being a funny place to experience once in your life, but once is definitely enough.

Place has grown up through the years. Turkey everything to eat. Great slaw and cranberry sauce. Oh pickles too don't forget to get one. Best time to go is at flee market time. Ice cream cone for ride home too. Been coming here about thirty years. One thing I miss is the junk barn.

Turkey used to be all this place was about. But lately, they've branched out to special events, dinner theater, and even a RV resort - "Camp Turkeyville." Too bad this place isn't closer to the town of Marshall, because then it would not have to be a destination. The food is so-so, much like any institutional cafeteria you might have eaten at. This is gauged by what should be their "signature dish," the turkey dinner plate, with real and succulent turkey sliced off the bird, but totally unmemorable crouton and celery stuffing, super dense (so little butter or milk) mashed potato, all smothered in a loose, gummy, turkey-flavored gravy. Your sides are a sweet and vinegary cole slaw and a small capful of a chutney of cranberry and diced apple. This all was only reminiscent of a good turkey dinner, but at a reasonable price. None of this was enough of an attraction to fill the room on the late afternoon we were here. On the way out, you go through the "sweets room," dominated by their ice cream service counter (and where the younger kids congregate). Here you can also get slices of pie, cake, fudge and cookies. As you approach the main exit, you can choose to stroll into the multi-bay gifts/souvenirs hall, or just get out of there, if you've already had that experience. Thus far, all entry ways have both stairs as well as ramps, so the whole place is accessible for those with disabilities. The parking lot outside is gravel-covered. When you look back at the structure which houses the gifts and souvenir shops, it looks like a motel building, with separate doors for each shop space - very unusual.

Turkeyville is really an interesting place. The place is really big and it looks like a lot of seating. The atmosphere is nice, kind of Cracker Barrelish like everyone else said. The food was good, but I do not know if I would rave about it. The prices are not bad for the most part. I just do not completely get the cafeteria style of it. The staff is really nice and it could really show off more if it did not make me feel so much like I was having a school lunch. The ice cream pallor and gift shop downstairs are a nice touch along with the barn items around the grounds.

TurkeyVille has been a part of my life for well since I was born and let me tell you what it is by far the best atmosphere and the best turkey dinner you'll ever have! Personally the location is awesome because your not right smack dab in the middle of the city but your not completely in the middle of nowhere. The fudge is so good and the candy shop is so cute! Definitely going during the summer or fall is the best because In the summer you can go to the campground and eat some yummy ice cream and during fall is thanksgiving so you obviously have to eat some yummy turkey! I will forever love TurkeyVille!

Cornwell's has been a staple in SW Michigan for generations. I took my 85 y/o mother to the Dinner Theater for her birthday. We were both very impressed and entertained by the current show ("Nunsensations"). I would highly recommend it to anyone for a fun evening out. "Dinner Theater" is thought sometimes to be only for the aged- but I feel any adult would enjoy this show, especially if you were raised Catholic or look forward to Las Vegas visits. There is some audience participation which made it more fun for both of us. I appreciated that before the show began they announced that mother was celebrating her birthday. The food served is much like you would expect for a Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey (of course), dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, and a couple of other items that I forgot. Fresh rolls and home style cranberry dressing are brought to your table. Unlimited soft drinks and your choice of one of 4 desserts (I had the coconut cream pie) of the day are included in the price. Beer, wine and cocktails are available for an additional charge. If you'd rather just see the show without dinner- they perform a matinee on Tuesday-Saturday afternoons at 2:00 PM. I feel that the price is right, the food was very good so why not give them a try for an entertaining evening?

They now have real plates and utensils, but the did is still meh and cold. I do like the cranberry apple relish, it was the highlight of the meal. If only their food matched the prices they charge for it.

The stir fry was wild rice and frozen vegetables with a turkey patty, soy sauce on the side. To call it stir fry is an exaggeration. The grilled cheese sandwich with the turkey involved plenty of turkey but very very little cheese. Turkey veg soup was bland. Stick with turkey dinner with stuffing and you will do just fine but stray from that then at your own risk.

I like Turkeyville because it's fun, and I've gone there for years and years. My dad used to love bringing the family on a Saturday evening for dinner. I was thrilled to be able to finally share the experience with my family recently. The food is traditional turkey dinner fare - certainly not trying to be imaginative! The staff are really nice, and helpful to the older folks especially. The ice cream parlor has lots of goodies besides just ice cream. We also sampled some fudge, and there was a variety of popcorns as well. My five-and-a-half year old was excited to go out to the barn and see the animals, but I don't think it was quite warm enough for the animals to enjoy seeing her yet. Both kids enjoyed the playground. Luckily I think I was the only one looking forward to browsing the little shops, since they were closed before we arrived for the evening. Honestly, one of the parts of our visit that positively warmed my heart was watching the smiles on the faces of the older visitors as my kids ran amok ;) Okay, so I'd never let my kids run amok, but I love to see them spreading joy, and the crowd at Turkeyville was very receptive to that.

We stop at least once a year to have a turkey meal, piece of pie and get some hard candy and turkey jerkey. People there are always so friendly and laid back. Excellent place for family dining.

This place is an awesome place for families. The ice cream is all made on site and is a great deal. The ice cream costs a dollar a scoop. And they offer free train rides. And have amazing turkey sandwiches. As a bonus this weekend they had a civil war reenactment. This was an awesome idea for Father's Day.

I have mixed opinions about Cornwell's Turkeyville. It is certainly a Battle Creek landmark and I admire a local business that's done well, but it is past whatever prime it had. The atmosphere is like a Cracker Barrel, but it's clear that the décor has not been updated since the place opened in the 70s. The serving is cafeteria style and sadly the food is what you'd expect from a cafeteria. It's not that the food is bad; it's just very dull and unimaginative. On the positive side, there is a nice ice cream shop and there is often a flea market on the lawn outside the restaurant. The place is kid friendly and your grandparents would like it as well (which is why 90% of the customers are over 60). Turkeyville is a place frozen in time and sadly is not adapting to the reality that it's primary clientele is the senior set and will not be patronizing the place much longer. I wish them luck, but an updated atmosphere and more daring menu items would go a long way to insuring a continued future.

If it were not for the beautiful drive in the country to get to this place, the evening would have been a total waste of time. Very marginal food, served cafeteria style. They do have a few bottle beers available, a not very cold PBR was the highlight of the meal.

I'm a sucker for out-of-the-way homey places, and this one certainly qualifies. It's near Battle Creek, MI. Decor similar to the Cracker Barrel but many more curiosities that deal with turkeys abound. Lots of senior citizens like to visit for the dinner theater. I just went for the turkey dinner. At $7, it was pretty good. I should have gotten the turkey sandwich for $4 instead. It looked big and you could choose from many condiments to make it better. Most people would probably give it a one or two star rating, but like I mentioned before, I like weird places like this.

We stopped here while crossing MI. Unfortunately, sandwiches were very small portions. The turkey salad was delicious but literally could not see any of it under the bun. When I looked under, there was no more than 1/4 cup which seemed kind of lame.

This isn't a place to visit for culinary brilliance, but it's worth experiencing as an unusual bit of Americana. The turkey dinner was good, although the meat assortment wasn't as varied as in the lobby picture. I liked the stuffing and cranberry sauce, but the mashed potatoes were featureless and the turkey barley soup was Campbell's caliber at best. The most intriguing item was the zingy vinegar slaw. The adjacent store contains items like canned turkey, pickled vegetables and unusual jams. There's also an arcade.
