Great little place in downtown Manistee! They have a good selection of drinks and baked (bagels, muffins, cheesecake, etc.) goods. They also offer a selection of sandwiches for lunch. They're presently offering a hot dog lunch two days a week (Fridays and Saturdays). The decor is nice - has the look of a modern coffee shop. Nice atmosphere - music playing in the background, very relaxing. There are lots of tables inside and they have some outside as well. Prices are good - standard for this type of shop. The staff is very friendly and patient. They serve you your order so you can sit and relax while you wait for it. Awesome place - I'll visit often!

I ordered a spinach parmesan bagel with cream cheese with some hesitation. I was happily surprised! The bagel tasted both like spinach and cheese, but not in a weird way. Yum yum. Downtown Manistee is so picturesque. I love how the window tables specifically say not to use your computers on them, for ideal people watching. The room was beautiful and definitely historic. There was a lot of street parking. I didn't try any of the drinks but if I do I'm headed to Goody's.

Friendly service and decent prices welcome you here. After purchasing a breve with an oatmeal cookie I have a good feeling I will be back whenever I'm in the area. Very good. The place itself is pleasant with floor to ceiling windows in the front.

Great local coffee shop. Popular with locals and tourists. Can't beat a "cup of cap". Omelettes are good too. Bagels are real popular but I am not a bagel person. My friends love them.

Goody's is more than the name would lead you to believe. Goody's is not just good - Goody's is GREAT! They serve up sandwiches, juices, coffees and baked goods. Again, these aren't just baked goods - These are baked GREATS! We ordered a blended Oreo drink (like a Frappe) and a Chai Tea iced with soy milk. Both were incredible. The iced Chai Tea was one of the best I've had. The Oreo drink was strong and sweet. It would have been better by itself and or as a dessert, but it was still ridiculously tasty. For lunch we ordered a Chicken Salad Wrap and a Tuna Cheddar Salad Panini. Both were incredible. I was worried the Chicken Salad would be messy since the ends were not folded up like a burrito, but it held together nicely and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, I was blown away by the Tuna Cheddar. Grilling the sandwich definitely brings out the flavors more. All of the sandwiches looked appetizing and I imagine if their fish can blow me out of the water then their deli meats have to be just as delicious. I hadn't intended on ordering a dessert for lunch, but they had a homemade pie sitting on the counter. It was berry and there was one piece left. I didn't even bother checking what type of fruit it was filled with and added it to my meal. I couldn't let that poor pie piece sit by itself when all it's other home-slices had been adopted. I'm really glad I took a chance. It turned out to be blueberry (I pretty much hate blueberry), but this was sweetened well and the crust was so GREAT that I cleaned my plate.

Chocolate chip cookie and hot beverage (cider) and I am a happy camper. I like the building- interior and storefront. I also like the bookcrossing section/bookcase in the back. Hooray.

4 stars for the coffee - best we had after visiting 3 breakfast places (not in the same day!). Breakfast offering was meager (as far as pastries) but decent. Staff was efficient. Cool place - only downer was the sign at the table in the window telling you all the things you can't do (no computer usage?) which I think was a joke but came across wrong. I got over it.

Happy and flavorful sandwiches, perfect stop for a light lunch, breakfast or anytime snack. Casual atmosphere and friendly people. Small but not too crowded feeling. They have a wide variety of coffees, teas (chai too), steamers, juices, Italian sodas, smoothies and blender drinks. I had a lemonade smoothie and my husband had a strawberries and cream blender. We both were happy. On a colder day we stopped off and he had a great hot chocolate and I quite enjoyed a caramel non fat latte. As far as sandwiches, I really enjoyed a turkey asparagus melt panini and my husband liked an bagel sandwich with roast beef and cheddar he chased down with a homemade brownie. They are both vegetarian and vegan friendly. A local told me I missed out as they have the best soy based chai plus terrific egg sandwiches and homemade granola in the mornings. Very happy.

Goody's is not that good. I visited Goody's over labor day weekend while on a visit up north with my good friends Jerome and Tony. We each had a one of their smoothies, which I'm told, are made with semi-fresh fruit... When inquired about the "semi-fresh" fruit comment made by the Smoothie Clerk, I was assured it just means frozen fresh fruit. I will take her word for it. However, semi-fresh fruit is strike one for Goody's. I had the the 4 berry smoothie, which was flavorful; not the best smoothie. It was also a bit thin. I like a smoothie with substance and body. Strike two for Goody's. After leaving Goody's, I realized, after driving for several miles, I left my sweatshirt behind. I called Goody's to see if they would mail my sweatshirt to me, as I wasn't able to return to pick it up. The Manager said they could mail it to me: if I paid the postage, provided the mailing label, and the shipping bag. I was floored and STRIKE 3. I realize Goody's doesn't provide shipping services, but I at least expected them to go above and beyond in this case and mail my sweatshirt to me at no cost (only 4.50 and less than cost of the smoothie I purchased). After all, we just spent over $15.00 in their store... Goody's had a opportunity to build goodwill with me, but they blew it. I will not return nor will I recommend this business. Instead, I will tell the story of how Goody's became not so good in my eyes.

We stopped into Goody's on our way back to Chicago. The restaurant has a bit of a hipster vibe to it and has a good selection of coffee, juices, snacks and sandwiches throughout the day. It appears inviting from the outside and has a cozy interior to sit down and have lunch or a cup of coffee. We had the soup/salad and sandwich combo for lunch along with fruit smoothies. The combo was a nice option as the 1/2 sandwich was a good portion of a panini sandwich along with a cup of soup and was plenty filling. The sandwich itself was OK - it was not creative (it did not include tomato, mustard, etc.) but as far as a ham and swiss cheese sandwich, it was fine. The soup was very good - chicken tortilla which had a bit of a bite to it. For an option in downtown Manistee, I'd recommend stopping into Goody's for coffee or lunch.

Good Coffee. Very good soup. OK sandwiches. The atmosphere is conducive to sitting and reading the paper, talking to friends and people watching. WiFi is available and free. Staff is friendly and knows you after a few visits. It's the place I go if I want a short business meeting with someone. Just wish they had a web site with their menu on it.

Stopped in for a much-needed espresso on a trip up north. We didn't eat anything (not that we weren't tempted) but the service was good, the coffee was delicious, and the place was welcoming. Couldn't really ask for more.

It's THE place to be in downtown Manistee. Goody's is where locals and travelers gather for a good cup of Joe or a refreshing smoothie. Goody's is located in the heart of downtown, across from the one and a half mile river boardwalk. We enjoyed the blended drinks, especially the blended White Chocolate Raspberry and the blended Coco Moco. The panini's are great, though they all have mayonnaise on them. (the bagel sandwiches are great for those who don't like mayo!) Goody's homemade granola with soy milk is absolutely terrific. Their latte's and cappuccinos are the real thing. They'll tell you the best places to go around town, great first stop upon entering Manistee. Owners Jim and Nancy Goodwin are on hand and are a joy to talk with.

You can't get a better cup of java in town!! The baked goods are excellent and the soups are hearty and tasty. We make a point of stopping in every time we come to town (and even come to town just to stop by)! Great business, great people, the friendliest service. We highly recommend this place!

Hip and happening coffee shop with good drinks and tasty sandwiches. Friendly, with a "cool" atmosphere -- good jazz and classic pop music playing. Clean and attractive, and obviously a local gathering spot.

Our GPS led us to this great coffee shop during our stay in Manistee, MI. Above average in all catagories including food, service, and atmosphere. I had an asparagus and turkey sandwich with a mocha to drink. Great food! I'll be going back!

Good sandwich and soup...fast friendly service! Great place for a quick bite, or relax and chat with friends. I like eating here because it's a local business owned by local folks, and feel good when my money spent in Manistee supports local businesses in Manistee!

As far as coffee shops go, Goody's felt fairly generic. The selection is about what you'd expect (a handful of pastries, a couple sandwiches, and the usual drip/espresso lineup), and the prices are comparable to your average coffee shop (~$2 for drip coffee, ~$4 for something frilly, ~$7 for breakfast/lunch). I can't speak to the quality of their food or espresso, but their drip coffee was rather disappointing. Perhaps I've been spoiled by more pretentious coffee shops, but Goody's options included "dark roast", " decaf", and a rotating flavored coffee. I asked about the origin (Columbia, Brazil, etc.), but the barista didn't know. If you're drinking a frilly sugar beverage, though, you probably won't care. In terms of atmosphere, Goody's wins a few points back. They've got plenty of tables, two of which are situated by their large front window. It seems like a comfortable place to sit down with friends. If you're looking for top-notch coffee, you won't find it here. If you're looking for a comfortable place to sit down for an hour, Goody's might be your best bet in downtown Manistee.

This review is only for the breakfast panini...which was not very good at all. It just wasn't very tasty- lots of bread, very processed tasting...

Not the best coffee shop we have been to, by far, but very solid for being the only real specialty coffee shop in Manistee. We always make a point to stop on Sunday at the very least on our way south from vacations and we have never been disappointed. We both usually try something new. I recommend getting it hot though as the iced versions are less than stellar. Have yet to try any food.
