Every time I have been here, the place has been packed, so they have to be doing something right. I found the place to be good, but nothing special. They do serve waffles, so I headed over there since the person I was with was craving them. I tried an omlette made with kielbasa, and though it was ok, I found the same dish just tasted better at Steve's about 3 miles down the road. The waffle was delicious though and the strawberries were extremely fresh.

Great food, great prices, and great place to go to for breakfast! I'd guess all the seniors in the area know about this restaurant because it's sometimes hard to find a place to park!

I like the homey, comfy feel of this place. It was packed out on Sunday about 12N, but still we got right in. The waitress was friendly, and even loved my tattoos. She made us feel right at home. I got a chefs salad, and Vegetable soup, and my husband a egg, hashbrown combo. My salad was loaded, and everything was fresh, not a brown, wilted leaf in sight. The soup was chock full of big pieces of vegetables, and cabbage in a tomato base, every bit as good as a soup I would make myself. The service was prompt, and attentive. I really enjoyed my experience here, it was a nice way to spend an hour before the library opened.

Good breakfast place close to home. Basic pancakes and Belgian waffle options. More omelet choices. Their sausage gravy is tasty, especially on the Southern omelet. We've eaten dinner too. Ken loves their Goulash. Clean interior, not fancy. Gets busy on weekends but we've never had to wait for a table.

I love small independent diners so it is appropriate that my one hundredth Yelp review was at an indie breakfast spot in a western suburb of the Motor City. On a bright and chilly Sunday morning, I walked in the door of this small diner and grabbed a seat at the counter. I could see that Sam's had a regular clientele that kabitzed easily with the wait staff which I always consider a good sign. Ordered the Vegetable Omelette with rye toast and hash browns. I made the special request for the omelette to be cooked light and soft half expecting it to come out of the kitchen hard and brown...I was wrong. My omelette with tomato, mushroom, onion, green pepper and American cheese was cooked perfectly! The rye toast was reminiscent of what one would get at a first rate delicatessen - hearty and oversized. Only the hash browns were run-of-the-mill. Overall, an excellent meal - just what you like to think you will get from a small independent.

FANTASTIC dining experience. Food is always fresh; the soup hot and full of fresh vegetables, navy bean l, etc depending on what you get. Servings are good sized for the price and the service is great. The atmosphere is relaxing and comfy. A great all all around experience.

This place was dirty & there was a hair in my food. The waitress didn't even apologize. I will never go back again!! I'm not sure how the doors are still open.

If you check out my other reviews, I am a big fan of Polish Food. Without question this was the worst Polish Combo I ever had. The first tip you are not getting good Polish food is when you are not given the option of fresh or smoked for the kielbasa. So since there was no other option, was not surprised the kielbasa tasted like something you would buy off the shelf at a chain supermarket. The sauerkraut was way too bitter tasting. The stuffed cabbage (golabki) was slimy and no clue what cookbook they followed for the meat inside. For the pierogi I went the usual two potato and one cheese. The potato was bland and had a burnt taste. The lone one star of the meal was the ONE CHEESE PIEROGI I had. The cheese was a perfect sweet cheese. Overall, AVOID anything Polish at this place.

Both times that I've eaten here, the food has been more tasty then I expected! The staff is attentive and friendly. The price is good too. The downside to this place for me is the interior, it is pretty cold in there and last time I was there our booth smelled weird, which wasn't very appetizing. But I will come back for a greek salad with chicken or an omelette. It is a conveniant spot for me and like I said- tasty food, kind staff.. I can handle the lack of interior decorating since the rest was good.

This place is alright. It really is just a typical diner, but more often than not the service is more impersonal and the staff makes me feel like I'm inconveniencing them while I'm there. But really, the food is great and the prices are typical of diners. I usually go for breakfast after church on Sunday, and it's always busy but I've never waited more than 5 minutes. So really, it's just the service that keeps this restaurant from being better.

We love Sam's place!! The food is always very good, the prices are very reasonable and the service is great. We go here so often that all of the staff knows our kids names and the owners even come out to talk to us. Could not recommend this place more!!!!!

Place is clean. The staff is amazingly friendly and will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. The 3-2-1 breakfast is awesome (three pancakes, two bacon or sausage and an egg) is my favorite. Friday night fish and chips with HUGE pieces of fish and can opt out of fries for mac n cheese which they pile on. Just good home made food. Oh, and homemade soup at $4 a quart when you aren't feeling so well and want to take it home is generous.

I think breakfast is really what they excel at. Twice at dinner I made the mistake of ordering a gyros...I got three pitiful little slices of meat....whatever you do, don't get a gyros..

Every single time I've come here, there has been long strands of black hair in my food. And I've heard others say the same thing.
