I'm giving this place a 3 overall because i went in two different times and had both different experiences. My first visit would be 5/5 stars because i had a pleasant experience. The server was friendly, attentive and very quick which was good. As for the food, the calamari was good and plentiful - it's good enough for 3 people. For my main dish, i ordered Veal parmigiana which was delicious! The veal cutlet was moist and very tasty. And the side spaghetti is very good too. The soup and bread were tasty enough. Which prompt me to come back for the second time. My second visit would be 2/5 stars because it was the exact opposite of my first experience. The server was unknowledgeable of the menu and seems to be in hurry all the time which was odd because the place wasn't packed that time. She also forgot our calamari order appetizer. This time i ordered Chicken marsala and it was not good. The mushroom marsala sauce was very salty and the chicken was dry. It was terrible. It's a hit and a miss with this restaurant. I am willing to give this restaurant another try and hopefully i will get a better experience next time.

First time here.. Monday's for now they have an all you can eat pasta deal that's pretty good. You just have to pay for anything extra each time or if you want Alfredo sauce. The garlic shrimp appetizer was AMAZING and I would come back to eat that alone. The soups were not very good. I enjoyed the blush sauce and then it came with bread pudding and that was good too.

Food's not bad....but the chairs and tables are so filthy. I wouldn't touch them. Someone needs to replace the chairs as you can scrape filth off them.

This is our local go-to restaurant. When we haven't pulled something for dinner and want something quick, we go here. Service is good and quick, food is delicious, and prices and right! They always have coupons in mailers and flyers. My favorite dish is the baked garlic shrimp appetizer with a side of pasta. It makes a fabulous meal! I also love the veal Parmesan. The bread pudding is amazing!!!!

I really try to like this place, but each time I come here the food is just disappointing. We had Calamari la Diavolo. Of all the dishes, this was pretty good. The shrimp appetizer was overcooked and smothered with mozzarella. The appetizers were served with small loaves of bread that were fresh out of the freezer. The entrees were unimpressive. The server seemed poorly trained and a bit awkward. This is another place that should cut the size of their menu by 60%, serve fresh food and train their staff. What they arr doing now is a waste of your time.

Over time the quality of the food at this restaurant has seriously declined while the prices have steadily soared! The waitstaff is friendly and the salad is very good. Bread that used to be authentic Italian now tastes like freezer loaves/buns. If you want to stop in for a beer and appetizers during happy hour and your a local then it's okay otherwise it's mediocre and overpriced. P.S. The bread pudding is amazing

I can't remember a bad experience here. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful, the service is quick and the food is delicious. I would describer their food as Italian American style. We bring groups here often and some favorite dishes would be their Chicken Caesar Pizzetta, Seafood Linguine, (request alfredo instead of the red sauce to make it even better!) their nacho appetizer is unique and delicious, the roasted chicken meal, and the Italian wedding soup are all family favorites. Great local spot for a filling Italian meal. They have outside seating in the summer too.

I really like this place. The inside is awesome and the food is always good. I usually always get the same thing because it is so delicious every time, and I try super hard to save room for cannoli's for desert because they are awesome as well. When we are out that way, we try to stop in to East Side Marios : )

Nah - wouldn't go there again...if you're looking for cheap un-authentic italian - then you better off at Olive Garden. Ok so we went there for lunch on a Saturday. The good - no waiting, seated immediately in a booth. The bread and unlimited soup OR salad if you order the dinner entree. The bad - the service (at least our server) was terrible. She didn't want to be there but I guess no on was bank rolling her lifestyle so she had to be there for work. What I mean is that it was some of the worst service I've experienced. I mean come on I'm not asking you to wait on me hand and foot but a smile and can I get some you anything else wouldn't hurt. The ugly - the food was terrible. I got the lasagna and seriously. Did the take it out of a microwave? It must be frozen, zap it and serve it. Not freshly made in the back in my opinion. But then again I guess you get what you pay for...we also got the italian wedding soup which was ok and the stuffed mushroom ravioli was also just ok. In brief - save yourself the trouble - go some where else.

Great lunch specials. Had a really good waitress and the barmaid couldn't have been nicer. Ordered nachos for lunch off the Appetizer menu. I asked if they were big and the waitress said no. These things were huge. Ended up wasting a lot

Decent place but not really Italian.. More like new York Italian.. Food is okay... Plates were pretty dirty.. Atmosphere was dull.. I don't think I would go back..

I've been here a total of three times. The first time must've been a fluke because I enjoyed it thoroughly. The chicken nachos seduced me and made me come back two more miserable times. Second visit. I came for my beloved nachos (I affectionately called them my puffy chips because their homemade goodness was so light and fluffy and weird and delicious). Upon ordering, the server looked at me like I was insane. "It's like a really big order... Like enough for, like, four people to share." He warned. Firstly, don't tell me my nachos and I cannot be together. Secondly, why does the server care? I assured him that I would be asking for a to-go box and he shouldn't judge me even if I ate the whole thing. After eating a few bites my stomach flipped over on itself, turned inside out and had it out for me for a good three days. How dare you hurt me so, puffy chips!!! I trusted you... After a few months my heart and tummy began to heal and I wanted to give chicken nachos another chance. I brought a friend just in case Judgey Mcjudgerson was there and we ordered a salad (see I can be healthy) and nachos to share. So we waited. All around us people were being seated and then being brought food. Then they were leaving and more people were being seated and being brought food. Where was our food?! We flagged down our waitress and inquired about our order. Oops, she forgot to put it in. Okay, things happen. So off she goes to put our order in. Another twenty or so minutes pass and I'm still without my puffy chips! We get the waitresses attention yet again and she disappears in the back. A moment later, the manager comes to our table and explains that our server forgot to put our order in the first time and then forgot to bring the food the second time and it got thrown away because it was thought to be a mistaken order. After it all, I wasn't giving up. Just give me nachos! Finally, a salad is brought out to us. I should've taken a picture of it, it was the saddest of salads (brown, wilted lettuce with soggy deli meat trying to have a purpose). Nevermind, I declared. It just wasn't meant to be. After an hour of waiting, we left without eating. Worst experience ever.

So a bunch of us girls met here for dinner on a Tuesday night, and I have to say the whole experience was peculiar. I signed up for their email list and got the free app with the purchase of 2 entrees, but apparently it has to be printed - something about stapling it to my receipt and not being able to use my friend's as proof. People still have printers? The email wasn't good enough to honor it (and I didn't even ask if could order one entree to go for my significant other so they probably would have shut that down). The starters arrived with only one house dressing when two of us ordered it and everyone else got their own ranch. So, we had to share a sauce cup - kind of strange. She also stacked the butter for the bread which ended up being a big mess. In all the food was good once it arrived. I guess maybe we had a new waitress?

We come to East Side Mario's on occasion, as it's a nice italian restaurant. The parking lot on the side is a bit small, and their food is sometimes hit or miss, but their service is always very friendly and knowledgable. Kids also eat Free Sundays with paid adult meals. Careful in the bathroom though. I fell because the floor was wet, and EXTREMELY slippery. I told our waitstaff and she said the same thing happened to hear earlier in the day.

Food here is low-quality and unhealthy. Decor is incredibly tacky and kitschy. This place is busy and LOUD. There were only 5 vegetarian options - a couple of uninspiring salads, baked ziti, tortellini, and pizza. So, either bland and depressing or impending heart attack. They even managed to sneak bacon into the minestrone soup. Shooting for something healthy, I got a Garden Salad without chicken. $7.50 for a giant bowl of iceberg lettuce with a few croutons, black olives, and banana peppers mixed in? Seriously? Not to mention that it was the same salad that came with my dinnermates' entrees. I'd be much more impressed with a smaller plate with spinach and some character. My friends ordered the tortellini - also disappointing. Just some pasta covered in a thick layer of cheese for $14. The house bread was nothing to write home about, either. Service was friendly but quite sparse. It took about 10 mins to flag down our server for the check. All in all, I'd gladly trade the portion sizes for higher-quality ingredients and more inspired dishes. (Mushroom risotto? Portabello mushroom caps? Lightly grilled veggies over angel hair pasta? Fresh caprese salad?? Vegetarian soups??? Come on, guys!) But for now, I'd even take the Olive Garden over this place.

Having ate and drank here many times tonights service came as a disappointment. We have experienced great service here many times, yet this time our waitress brought us the wrong drinks and failed to even put in our appetizer order. Normally we sit in the bar area because of the great specials, but tonight we had my five year old cousin with us so we sat in the main dining area. His meal comes with a scoop of ice cream but our waitress wouldn't come back to check on us . When one of the managers walked by we simply asked him about the ice cream when he proceeded to check to see if we paid our bill by opening our book. We spent close to a hundered dollars tonight and were very put off by this. Very poor service. From this point I will stick to the bar area.

What happened to this place? A time ago I raved about this place but now its overpriced and not very good. Seems like they've seriously went down hill. Waitress was unfriendly but okay for service. Looked liked bathrooms haven't been cleaned in weeks with mildew buildup in the sinks, empty soap dispenser with a dirty bottle of hand soap on the wet counter and heinous toilets and urinals. Ordered the Veal Parmisana and my wife ordered the tortellini. Veal was burnt and very crusty in areas, the cheese was the best part but wasn't good by any means. I've had better tortellini out of of the frozen foods freezer at Krogers. The only positive was their bread. All in all for the price I'm gonna spend a few extra bucks and head down the street to Giulio's. I don't think I'll be going back here.

Always an amazing experience at this Resturaunt. I recommend you try all the food. They have a spicy blush sauce that is to die for. When you order a dinner you get unlimited soup and salad, and I think it's just as addicting as Olive Garden. :) all in all great food at a great price. The Resturaunt is also Canadian owned and there are only 4 in the US.

I have been going to East Side Mario's for over 15 years. They bring warm bread with whipped butter that is very tasty. The salads are nothing to brag about but the food is great. My go to is the "mamas baked ziti". It is very good and it comes with this awesome ricotta cheese on the sides. Everyone is always satisfied when we come here. The atmosphere is very cool also. I love this place!!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! We always have a good meal and a fun time at East Side Marios. I am crazy about the salad, and actually ate way too much of it last night before my Shrimp Florentine arrived. Guess what I get for lunch tomorrow? Yummy leftover! Hubby always loves the Baked Tortellini, and Maggie declared her 'little bambini's' Fettucine Alfredo to be, "the best noodles she's ever had." Considering her regular favorite is Kraft Mac n Cheese, I'm not sure how high of praise that is, but she enjoyed them ;) I've been in a dessert mood lately, and I'm very glad that I treated myself to the cannolis even though I didn't finish my dinner. Hubby was less thrilled with his tiaramisu, He wasn't thrilled with the texture. Bummer for him - I still wasn't sharing my cannolis.

I had the lasagna, which was pretty good, as was the bread. I wasn't blown away by the salad. I actually prefer the salad at Olive Garden over what I had at ESM. Service was good. We got three bread refills and our waiter cleared our dishes as soon as we were finished. My friend also got a free piece of chocolate cake to celebrate her birthday, which was decent. $33 for a large beer, margarita, and two entrees. All in all, pretty good meal.

Went in for lunch with co-workers today, and the overall consensus was that the environment itself was upbeat and interesting, but not over the top. The place was clean, and service was good. It's a "chain", so take that for whatever you want it to mean. Now on to the food! I ordered Linguini Chicken Amatriciana which is thinly sliced chicken simmered with bacon, roasted mushrooms, peppers, garlic, cracked black pepper and a blush sauce. I think my dish had a whole 1.5 ounces of chicken in it. The Pasta was good, the mushrooms were good, the sauce was incredibly bland (maybe they forgot my garlic?). All in all it was OK, but a bit on the small side for me. I know, it was a lunch portion, but I don't subscribe to the "lunch portion = bird food" portion size theory. I'd probably go back, but I'd try something off the dinner menu next time.

Last night, I wanted to go out to dinner and sit outside on such a lovely evening. So, the husband suggested we go to East Side Mario's for dinner. It was the perfect night during the holiday weekend because the place was dead and we had no problem getting a table outside. We ordered the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer. It was really good, and probably the best part of our meal. It came w/ ranch & marinara sauce, which worked out perfect for us. My dinner came w/ a salad, which was delivered in a big bowl w/ a plate to eat as much as I want. I thought this was sort of a waste. The house dressing was a little too sweet for me. For our entrees, I ordered the evening special which was a chicken, artichoke & spinach dish w/ penne pasta. The sauce was garlic & olive oil. It was okay. The chicken was really dry, which was a bummer. The husband ordered the grilled chicken caesar salad. His chicken was cold & dry. I haven't ordered a chicken caesar salad in a very long time, but I thought the chicken should've been hot, or at least warm. I tried it, and the salad was just okay. Our waitress was attentive and very nice. She was hiding a basketball under her shirt and it turns out we were her last table for 3 months. We'll probably go back and give it another shot, but I am not in any rush.

This place is insane. I have never paid full price for two dinners in all the times I have been here. They have coupons in the Entertainment Book for buy one entree get one free and if you join their e-club you will get more of the same on a regular basis. They also have half off appetizers and drink specials in the bar area from 2- 7 daily. I go here a lot for that reason and the fact that they have Buzztime trivia here which is as addicting as a good coupon bargain. The food is good. I have sampled practically the whole menu. The Brushetta is to die for, a thin crusted pesto drenched dream. The Eggplant Parmesan has a cheesy artichoke filler that is just delicious. The *Go Big Or Go Home* Baby Back Ribs are tasty and lean with a sweet yet tangy sauce. The Fajitas are nice with the added melted mozzarella cheese but bland without according to my mother. My husband is a huge fan of the Mulberry Street Connection, a combo plate of lasagna, chicken parm and excellent cheesy tortellini. My father adores the Shrimp Florentine and while it is a bit too much butter for me, I have to agree it is good. The Seafood Linguine is more my speed, with good mussels and a nice seafood tomato type broth. The main entrees come with unlimited soup or salad. James loves the Minestrone while I prefer the Italian Wedding Soup, full of tiny meatballs and greens. The salad is a huge bowl and I think it is best with the House Italian dressing. It is full of nice lettuce and veggies including pepperocini. I tend to stick with the salad in the summer but prefer the soup to be honest. You also get unlimited garlic homeloaf which is not so garlicky but is ok and well it is free. Avoid the Burgers, Coney Island Fish and Chips and very disappointing Linguini Chicken Piccata with a bland gooey sauce. The Rotisserie Chicken was ok but nothing I am anxious to delve into again. The garlic smashed potatoes are dry and again not as garlicky as one would hope. I have actually had dessert in here gratis after one night with a particularly long wait. The cannoli is super tiny but ok, the cheesecakes are better in my opinion but frankly I would just skip it altogether. They are big enough to share so that is a plus but I am just not a dessert right after a big meal type girl. Enjoyable night out at bargathon prices if you look in the right spots, my kind of place for sure.

I like the layout of the place. Pretty cool atmosphere. Very friendly, professional staff. Now for the food: I had the Godfather Burger. HOLY$&*^#@!(*% IT WAS DELICIOUS!! The meat itself was incredible. Then, once you PILE on the toppings, INCLUDING CHICKEN FINGERS, you will have a burger-gasm. If you wanna try something new, stop in here. You won't be disappointed. At least as far as the burgers go.

Once again. There's the happy hour from 2PM to 7PM seven days a week with 1/2 off appetizers. That's in the bar area only. But, why sit anywhere else? It's closer to the drafts on tap. A meal can be made of these appetizers alone. We always order a variety for the table to share. Many times have leftovers to take with. There is also a website email signup to receive coupons and such. Never a disappoinment.

First time at this place and let me tell you I was not impressed. Waitress recommended pizza and the dough had to be frozen. Place needed a paint job and cleaning. Wife's Lasagna came out cold, but my tortellini Alfredo was really good .. Don't recommend this place to anyone.

Dear Kat: If you're reading this, I'm sorry, but after this weekend, your dining out recommendation credentials have been revoked. On Friday, we hit Station 885 and then on Saturday, we hit this place: East Side Mario's. C'mon! Are you trying to kill me? Now, I am ready to accept responsibility and acknowledge the truth: I brought this on myself. I forgot to make reservations at Izakaya Sanpei and they couldn't take our table of eight. There, I said it. IT'S MY FAULT I HAD TO EAT AT EAST SIDE MARIO'S EVERYONE. Are you happy? But the fact remains...you said this place was good...and well, I feel like you lied to me. This place sucks and deep down inside, I think you know it sucks. This place is everything I hate in a restaurant. Let's start with the "ambiance." This place is decorated like a ShowBiz Pizza minus the creepy singing animitrons. It's obscenely loud and full of children, some of whom were singing. I wanted to jam a fork in my eye. Now let's move on to the menu. Once again, I will take responsibility and say I have some weird ass dietary restrictions, but all I wanted was a vegetarian salad. That's all I need. They have three salads at this place and all of them have meat and/or fish. While they have lots of stuff on the menu, none of it even approaches healthy. In the end, I got a Caesar and called it a day. In all honesty, I shouldn't complain about the food because I didn't really eat it and it doesn't matter...because I wouldn't come back to eat here if the food tasted like it was beamed down from heaven and was simultaneously calorie free. Why? THE SERVICE! My salad (Caesar) had four ingredients. The seven other people we were dining with all got their lavish dishes and had eaten half of it by the time I got my salad. This place is cheap so it gets a star for that and I'll give them another one for being able to immediately seat a table of eight and as an acknowledgment that I was cranky on the night in question. Hugs, Heather

Every time we go,we have great food. The all you can eat salad is delicious. I could eat a whole bowl by myself. I have never had a bad pasta there but my two favorites are Palomino pasta and the chicken tetrazzini. You get plenty of food to take home for the next day. I will be back soon!!!

  • Mic M.

I have stopped here many times for lunch with colleagues as we did today. Today I had the half wrap, salad, soup combo. The wrap was really good, very juicy, tasty and fresh. I had their wedding soup, which although I have not had this at many other places, for me it was tasty. The Cesar salad was just ok, they were a little light on the dressing, but it was still ok. The service was fast and friendly, the drinks refilled, and the end of meal to bill to departure time was very quick...(waiting for the bill or to get my card back, really sucks) . Our lunch today was a good experience and my out of town colleague enjoyed it as well!

East Side Mario's is one of my favorite restaraunts in Livonia! It's reasonably priced, with delicious food and a large menu. Unlimited Bread/Soup/ and Salad. Most of the time i'm so stuffed i dont even take advantage of this! I have never had any problems with the service, usually pretty standard and friendly. The atmosphere is nice, relaxing, some very cool things to look at. I would recommend a favorite dish, but everything i have tried has been equally good as the last! If your in the area and need a decently priced quick bite to eat, i would stop here for sure!

I love this place. My husband and I moved to AZ 6 years ago and we make sure to visit Eastside Mario's whenever we return to MI for a visit. My favorite dish is the tortellini with the Italian Wedding soup. The food and service never disappoint.

  • Randy Z.

The family tried it out because we're from the area. I wish I could rate it higher but I'll be honest. The menu is basic. Nothing to write home about. The seafood in the linguine seemed a little off. I couldn't eat it. The scent actually drew a comment over heard by us from the table to our side. Lasagna was 'okay'. The service lacked. Our waitress wasn't attentive and somewhat snappy when asking for some extra napkins or another fork. I felt like we were a burden. Maybe I'm just not big on chains but over all it felt like a glorified olive garden.

This is my fav chain Italian place. Love the bread, and the pick your own pasta option. I usually get angel hair with marinara and cheese melted on top.....yum. The salad is super good as well. Service is always fast and friendly, and the one time i had dessert here, it was awesome as well. Love the bar area with TVs as well.

For better or worse, East Side Mario's is something of a Livonia institution. Sure, it's technically part of a chain but this particular location has been in the city almost as long as I have. I can remember trekking through the snow from a friend's house to check them out when they very first opened. Back then, the highlight of the menu was the ribs. As a little kid, I can't remember a time that my family didn't order ribs when we went to East Side Mario's. Then I think something happened - the ribs were taken off the menu or the sauce was changed, my memory is a bit hazy - and I stopped going there, until about 2003. I'm no longer a big rib eater, so when I go to East Side Mario's I tend to order a chicken salad, a wrap sandwich, a personal pizza, or something of that sort. The food is never mindblowingly great, it's only ever really satisfactory at best. It doesn't feels like much care is put into the making of your food; it's basically just a step up from Big Boy. I really only tend to go there because of its close proximity. If you don't live in Livonia, I can't really imagine a reason to make a roadtrip to East Side Mario's. Service is typically either good or very bad, but when I say "bad" I simply mean that they're not as attentive. I've never had anyone who works here give me a rude attitude. The restaurant itself is very spacious and open but that means a lot of noise depending on where you're seated - usually the further back you are, the noisier it gets. The booths are not comfortable at all, which is a definite drawback. There's a bar where you can be seated, eat, and throw peanut shells on the floor if that's your kind of thing. Okay, you want me to be honest? My favorite part about East Side Mario's is the unlimited garlic loaf and bottomless salad bowl. As I'm writing these reviews for Yelp, I'm starting to realize that at a lot of restaurants I tend to like the appetizers better than the entrees. Maybe that means there's something wrong with me but, man, does the garlic bread at East Side Mario's taste good. I also appreciate that they have this huge bucket of hard candy you can sample from on your way out. The blueberry flavor in particular is delicious. Yup, apparently that's all you need to impress me: good breadsticks or chips & salsa, and free candy on the way out. Spoken like a true Livonian.

The boyfriend and I went there today for dinner. I had the lasagna. The portion size was huge! I don't know how anyone could finish it, especially with the unlimited soup or salad that comes with it. The wedding soup was delicious. The lasagne was made with a meat sauce, which was probably the best sauce I had ever had. I've been to Little Italy in New York (where I also had lasagna), and they're not kidding. It really was like a taste of Little Italy. It was probably one of the best I've had. I only ate half of my food and, even though I was full, I still wanted to keep eating. Service was awesome too. Our waiter was attentive bring extra drinks and whatnot, without being overbearing. It was nice that he was practically invisible, as I hate when they want to stand around and chat. All in all, probably the best Italian I've had in quite a while.

I called them to make the reservation. I get transferred to a manager and ask if I can make a reservation for 15-20 people. She says yes, and asks what time. 7:00. So then I tell her it's more of a "meeting" type thing where people will be in and out at assorted times so I asked her if it would be a problem if we could get separate checks. Before she answered I said that it would be no problem to people to still charge the gratuity to each check (a lot of times parties of 6 or 8 or more are charged gratuity automatically). She was kind of hesitant and said that still would be hard to do. I just said that with our group coming in and out, on top of drinks, it would be hard for us to keep individual track of what each person owed in the end. She kind of reluctantly said OK and I said, "Are you sure? We can try to take it somewhere else..." And she cuts me off with, "I already said it was OK, like, three times!" Alright, she only said it ONCE and NOT three times. I told her, "Ya know what? I think we're just going to go somewhere else." and hung up on her. I didn't like her "three times" rude comment. Needless to say, we're going somewhere else. I used to work at this location and it was always one of my favorite spots for eggplant parm. I can't say I want to go back there any time soon now after being treated like that.

I've never written a Yelp review, but I had to comment on the AMAZING service at East Side Marios. I hosted my sister's baby shower here and the staff and managment went above and beyond! If you are hosting a small function (max ~35) you should host it here. 1) Private room 2) I viewed the room on a random Sat. and assumed the tables would be the same way when I came in and planned a seating chart, etc around it. However, when I came in they had the tables especially arranged for a group party. When I mentioned the seating chart, center pieces, etc, they completely rearranged the room for me, making sure that there were like table clothes throughout the room, etc. 3) The restaurant has you pick six items off the menu for your group and then allows your guests to choose from one of those six items. They will pre-print a special menu especially for you and your group 4) My sister LOVES the dressing at this restaurant. She will often purchase a soup size container of dressing to go so that she can have it at home. I inquired if I could purchase a large qty of dressing to bottle and give as a hostess gift to the guests. Not only did they agree to do so, they said that if I came by a few days early with the bottles/labels they would take care of all the prep work for me. This is a completly bizarre request and I can't believe they actually offerred to bottle it for me. AMAZING! Management, staff, servers, everyone was BEYOND helpful. Everyone loved the food and I would host another event there without a moments hesitation.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
