I Love Awery's they are a pride of Detroit running close to Sanders yes that good. This is an outlet so they are seriously discounted but seriously still good. This location has been here for years and never disappoints. I know a lot of local businesses take advantage of these goodies for luncheons and what nots. I love Awery's bumpy cake I actually prefer it to Sanders because its not as extremely rich being chocolate insted of fudge plus you can score one here for under 5 bucks. This place has a huge variety Bill knapps cakes, strudel, croissants, brownies plus all kinds of bread. That doesn't even scratch the surface way to much to list. The prices just amazing..I don't come here often but this place is great. Love love love it: )

I love bumpy cake and they've got it here for $2.99-$4.99. Amazing. Other people might complain about the decor or whatever but it's an outlet store! Cheap cakes and baked goods cancel out the decor! I almost never buy cakes at the grocery store anymore!

I've always drove by this place but unfortunately it was either closed or I didn't have an enough time to stop and browse for a little bit. Come on - you would think this place is huge but don't be fooled. Everyone loves a bake good from time to time and TODAY WAS MY TIME. Selection is very slim but the qty is large and low priced; so that wasn't bad. Everything looked so good and also had a bunch of calories in them = but today i didn't care. So i purchased chocolate cheesecake, better made BBQ chips, and blueberry muffin tops. OMG i was surprised that the only thing i enjoyed was the chips. I was trying to think outside of the box and get something now; maybe next time i'll stick with the standard cheesecake and maybe a chocolate cake. I know this place has ability to get a 4 star rating from me - so i'll try again. Happy Eating!!! Side note - I thought it was cute because I was only young person in there. If you are missing your grandpa or grandma; you might want to check here first. Lol!

I love bumps. Very firm mounds of white...cream filled and covered with chocolate. You may have guessed if you're a long time Detroiter what I'm referring to. It's the Sanders Bumpy Cake. For not being a sweets eater I had a urge for a Bumpy. Yes, they have these cakes here. I have known about this place for years but never ventured in. On my way home from work I stopped at a Tim's for coffee and grabbed some cake here. Great price. $2.99. I wasn't impressed at all with the store appearance. It seemed kind of unkempt. Racks of desserts all over. No type of organization. Check the dates. If you're going to have a big breakfast at home with friends, this is a good place to go.

Recently reopened after being purchased by a couple of local business entrepreneurs. Bargains galore. I purchased a bag of 12 fork split english muffins for $1.99. As being seconds I didn't see any of that this time. Perhaps being new reopened has something to do with it. But for the most part the flaws are minor. I do suggest that the good through dates be checked out. They have english muffins, danishes, brownies with nuts and with out nuts, donuts, date bars, angel cakes, banana sheet cakes, cinnamons buns, small and giant and on. Things can be put into the freezer if you tend to do stock runs like I do. They take credit cards. It's very worthy of a look see.

The first place I cam here I thought I was in heaven... The prices are very CHEAP here. I picked up a huge sheet cake for an office birthday party for $4 and we still had about half of it left. I don't think I could have made the cake for cheaper! Many times they will have big markdowns on Sanders bumpy cakes or Bill Knapp's cake (best chocolate cake I've ever had!) Even when I load up my basket I still don't come close to spending more than $10. Awrey's is always on my list when I come home to visit. Now if I can just think of a way to get a bumpy or Bill Knapp's cake back on a flight home...

Growing up in the Detroit area, I have known & eaten Awrey baked goods most of my life. I recently stumbled upon their bakery outlet in Livonia... and boy was I happy! They sell all the traditional danishes and coffee cakes, plus giant sheet cakes, Awrey's version of bumpy cake (Ripple Cake) and even sometimes real Sander's Bumpy cakes. All of these are marked down to cheap prices. ($4 for a ripple of bumpy cake, due to slight errors in the concentric bumps. Trust me, these errors do not affect the taste at all!) I met a couple who buys the giant sheet cakes for $3 and takes them to homeless shelters and soup kitchens. What a great idea! Sadly, I discovered that the store is likely going to close. The projected date was the end of January 2013, when I asked the staff. Unless some millionaire, or one million other people who love Awrey baked goods want to go in on it with me to keep this going.... Any takers?

This place should be illegal! First time in, and I was overcome by the smells of sweets baking. I was sent in by my wife to pick up a snack for 12 people that were having a meeting, and I left with 10 pounds of sweet gooey goodness! Assorted mini danishes, decadent chocolate brownies, and chocolate peanut butter brownies, and all at discount prices. Sure they're "seconds" but who really cares if they're flawed visibly. As long as they taste wonderful!

I first became familiar with Awrey's products while shopping at Westborn where they carry their cornbread toastums. You get about 8 for $5 at Westborn. At the outlet I can get a whole big tray of them for $5 and they freeze great! I have been here to the outlet about half a dozen times and what they have varies a bit based on what they have been baking recently. As previous reviewers have said much of what they have is visibly flawed but still tastes great and is not actually old since it came off the line imperfect. Most items are $1.99-4.99. The most expensive thing I have seen is their cheesecake which is $7.99 and it is worth every penny! They carry sugar-free cheesecake as well which I have not had but was surprised to see. There is a $10 or $15 minimum to use your card which I have never had a problem finding enough for the minimum but you might want to have some cash on hand just in case. I have found that their products freeze great and frequently breakdown all the large sheets of brownies, etc when I get home for sweet treats later!

If you love the Bill Knapp's chocolate cake like I do, the outlet is the place to buy them. The outlet sells the cake for $4.99, as opposed to the $8-10 you'd spend in a grocery store. Great deals on all kinds of baked goods.
