Excellent service, Wonderful food, local and homemade toast and preserves. Coffee is average to me but still enjoyable. The Depot is a great place to go out for breakfast if you're in town or just passing through. I recommend a half order of the Trainwreck breakfast or the new Breakfast Pizza.

The space was fun! I'm in love with train stations so this conversion was delightful and old timey and you can see the chef do his thing from any table in the room! My only qualm was the protiens were way overcooked. I got the liver...and it was super tough, but very much like any typical diner. Nothing stand out, but definitely a fun place to stop on the way to Traverse! I also wish they didn't gender identify the single stall bathrooms. It's just problematic and uncomfortable. In protest I always use the Gents! I would ask that they take down the signs...and just put up something that identifies it as a Bathroom!

Just 5 minutes from 127. Cute place with huge helpings of home made yummy food. Excellent wet burrito and the steak salad even had good croutons. Biggest Mac and cheese portion I ever saw. Even had apple juice in a covered cup for our grand daughter.

I don't know what I ordered but it was only about 6 bucks delicious and it fed three. Only in Leslie. Good stuff. Will definitely go back. I just got back from the depot. Had a Reuben. Amazing. Made with hand carved corned beef.

This is probably my favorite greasy spoon diner. This is our standard Saturday/Sunday morning breakfast spot. My husband and I are "weird" eaters and the waitstaff is always willing to accommodate our odd tastes. My hubby loves their breakfast pizza, or their biscuits with sausage gravy. Their homemade turkey sausage is AMAZING and we almost always get that instead of standard breakfast meats. They also make the *BEST* post drinking meal ever. Grilled cheese, side of bacon, side of deep fried pickle chips. Put the bacon and the fried pickle chips on the grilled cheese and enjoy! Give me that and coffee any morning after :D. Good food great prices!

I am ready to slip blissfully into a post pie coma. Their cream pies are lovely. I tried the Texas club and my niece had the monte cristo - both were delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly. Our server checked in on us enough times to meet our needs without bothering us unnecessarily. Very clean - and the restroom is clean and well kept, with a selection of paper backs (not what I expected) Worth a visit.

My wife and I frequently visit The Depot and have found it to be one of our favorite local spots. It has a down home family restaurant feel and the food to match. Hearty dishes that leave you full and satisfied, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You always receive a generous portion and the food has always been very good. Not exactly blow you away flavorful dishes, but more stick-to-your ribs country fixins. The service has always been good, not overwhelmingly friendly but I've never left there thinking it should have been better. Weekdays are usually better as they aren't as busy.

Whenever I'm visiting family in Leslie, I make sure to visit the Depot Diner. Dependable, cheap, and delicious. I wouldn't expect to find anything on the menu that would help me keep the pounds off, but carpe diem and carpe diner food, amirite? I always get their depot breakfast sandwich and French toast. Mmm.

Leslie Michigan is about an hour and a half drive from Flint Michigan which is where I live. I had an opportunity to drive to Leslie on a Saturday afternoon, to look at some property which was for sale. Since we were in an area we were not familiar with, we asked the property owner where we could go in the Leslie area, to get a good meal. He recommended "The Depot" in downtown Leslie. It was a short drive less than 2 miles to the restaurant. As we drove up we noticed that this establishment was a converted train depot. The building is located right next to the railroad tracks, as would be expected. The building was older, and was in need of some maintenance. The first thing I noticed was that all the windows were open and there were plastic fans blowing in from outside to inside the building, indicating there must not be any air-conditioning. That was not a big deal to us so we proceeded inside. When we entered the building, it was rather dark inside. The decor was dated and the tables look like they were about 30 years old. The tables were worn and the upholstery was torn up pretty badly. When I sat down, I could feel the tears and divots in the material through my jeans. The waiter came up promptly and was very friendly. He took our order in the meal came out in a timely manner. I ordered the wet burrito. It was very tasty and all the ingredients were very fresh. My wife ordered a salad which was made up of chopped lettuce similar to what you would get on a taco at Taco Bell. According to her, it was mediocre at best. We arrived in the evening about 45 minutes prior to closing. At approximately 20 minutes before 8 o'clock, the closing time, One of the employees began moving all the tables in the room from one side of the room to the other and then proceeded to pile all the chairs on top of the tables, at which point she began to vacuum the room with a mechanical sweeper, not electric, which made very loud noises as she went along. She got very close to our table and then proceeded across the room. Because the tables were piled up so densely, our waiter had to traverse them like a mouse maze as he made his way from the kitchen area to our table. I asked him if they were in a big hurry to leave, and he responded that he wasn't but that the other employee was there all day and wanted to get out of there as soon as she could. My wife and I finished our dinner as quickly as we could as we were feeling rather rushed. About 7:55 The waiter brought our bill and asked if we would like to order dessert for the road, a not so subtle hint that it was time for us to leave. Well, needless to say I doubt if we will ever come back to this establishment again. The food was decent, the waiter was pleasant, but, the dining experience was less than satisfactory. I can put up with an older location as long as the food and service is good. The food was good the wait service was OK, but, the fact that we felt rushed and that it seemed like they were in the middle of their spring cleaning while we were eating didn't help us enjoy the meal very much. I would have rated this establishment higher, had we not had the rush, and hurry up and get out experience. I mentioned this to the waitstaff as we left, and received a rolling of the eyes response. So much for the small-town dining experience.

Charming restaurant, home-cooked food, nice staff! We stumbled across this place and will definitely be back. I had the Monster Quesadilla and it was everything I could have hoped for. A delicious mess!

Hungry? Stop here!! You got SOOOO very much food for little price, and its just like home cooking!!! I always get the Lumberjack breakfast and I tell you what, you'll leave full!!! Plenty of parking yet it's in an area of town where it's difficult to find if you haven't been there before, just look for the railroad tracks!
