We've visited a few times and are always very happy with our food. This visit was no exception. As usual I had the Bistec con Rajas y Queso as usual and it was excellent. This is one dish where temperature is key and it usually comes out piping hot. My wife had flautas and found them to be delicious. Service has never been amazing but this visits experience was a bit worse than usual. Our waitress arrived upon our initial arrival and when we weren't ready to order was never seen again (literally). We eventually flagged down another waitress who took care of us although she was also very slow. It seems to be standard practice that you never receive a check and have to go to the counter and tell the cashier what was in your order to checkout. Either way the food was delicious and service was what we've come to expect. We'll be back again, but aren't rushing to break the door down.

THE BEST CHILAQUILES this breakfast food fan has ever eaten. Hands down, no questions asked, the best. Simply but wonderfully prepared and full of deep flavor. Oh....and great service to boot. Don't miss the place.

Quality, fresh food; clean bathrooms, good service. Check out is tough because the register is directly across from the door. Lots of congestion as peeps are coming in and other peeps paying their bill and leaving.

We were on our way home from Chicago, and yelpers led me to this quaint little family owned place. The actual building is not all that, but bathrooms are very clean, service 5/5 very fast, prompt and friendly. Food 5/5 the guacamole was awesome... I got the ground beef enchiladas which were excellent, my husband got the chicken enchiladas and also loved them. Everything came with a side of beans and rice. The adult meals were $8.99 and kids meals were $6.99 I believe. Anytime we are going that way, I will be sure to stop back there.

Great meal! Good value, fresh ingredients. Well worth the short detour from 94 on the way back to Chicago. Yum! And they are open on Sundays.

We ordered the burrito Guadalajara style (beef) which was good Bistec A La Mexicana good as well Bathroom was pretty clean....definitely a plus after traveling cross country for 2 weeks. The only reason I gave it a four was that the it was pretty warm in there.

The corn tortilla tacos and quesadillas are amazing! This is the same owner as Cancun in Paw Paw. The homemade salsa and green sauce is pretty incredible as well!

Big portions, authentic foods. Good prices and friendly people seconded. I had a ginormous natural burrito, word of the wise the small is pretty big. They have many flavors of jarritos and horchata.

The only 5 star I have ever given. To say we love this place is an understatement. I had the chance to eat there again last week while visiting with our daughter. It was 4 years since the last time I was back in Michigan. We compare every Mexican restaurant we visit to Acapulco. The chips, salsa, beans, rice are perfect. The staff have changed over the years yet everyone they have are always friendly and helpful. Ask for the special sauces they have in the fridge. There is a nice salsa verde and a smokey roasted hot sauce they don't leave out on the tables. Everything is good but my favorite of all time is the Bistec A La Mexicana. I get it with the flour tortillas. Great dinner for 8.99. I had the 3 chicken tacos though for 6.99 with warm flour tortillas. Hard to make the choice between those two favorites of mine.

I absolutely love this place! The staff that works there are exceptionally nice and I love them! Lets get to the best part though, the food! The food there is awesome and I know for a fact whatever you get there, you will enjoy. This place beats out every La Perla I've been to and every other Mexican restaurant! The only downfall is they have new staff that walks by every table about 5-6 times in a row and asks is everything okay is everything okay, a bit annoying because I just told you a second ago everything was perfect. I highly highly recommend this place to everyone who loves authentic Mexican food!

Tasty place to eat. Super reasonable prices. It is also nice to find a place with house made hot sauce. They have both a red and a green and they're both really tasty. Very friendly service.

This is the best Mexican food in SW Michigan. I eat Mexican food weekly and this is the place to go. The burritos are large with a great taste. We go with a Mexican/Columbian couple, and they say the food is authentic, but potions are larger than they are used to. Hard to believe such a gem in a small town like Lawrence, but I'm glad its here. Easy to get to off the highway too. Cheers!!!

I have been going here for a few years now, and it has always been a great choice. Casual, friendly, clean, reasonable, and authentic are all words easily used to describe Acapulco. The food is always done very well, from the giant burritos and tacos to the weekend specials. I had the seafood soup yesterday and it was delicious and all tasted really fresh. The steak dishes are wonderful too. Most all of the dishes I have had here were large enough to take some home. Great family dining place as well, always busy never too crowded to find a seat. Enjoy

While not as good as places in more populated areas, this is fine food given the area. Having tried all the Mexican restaurants along I-94 from St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, all the way east to Kalamazoo, I think this is the best unless you are willing to drive as far as Chicago.

Our family loves this restaurant! This family-owned Mexican establishment will not disappoint. The food is fantastic and reasonably priced. They have very good lunch specials, and speedy service. As with many outstanding restaurants, don't let the looks from the outside fool you. They put all their love and care into their cooking! Be aware that they might be closed for several weeks in January, as the family (wisely, in my opinion) travels to Mexico for well-earned holiday. Just call first. Also note that they don't serve alcohol, so no margaritas here (liquor licenses are extra expensive in Michigan).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
