This B&B is amazing. My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. It's quiet and cozy. A.J., the innkeeper, is such a great guy. He's very accommodating and friendly. He knows all the good places to eat/drink/shop/visit in the area and can make some really good recommendations. I felt soooo relaxed the entire time we stayed at the White Rabbit. It's a great place to have some peace and quiet with your honey. The fireplace in our room was a nice touch. In the morning, A.J. serves a delicious breakfast fare. The almond pastries from a local bakery and the bubble gum plums are the absolute best way to start your day! The breakfast area also provides a beautiful view of all the birds and other wildlife coming to have some breakfast that A.J. feeds them on the outside deck. White Rabbit is within walking distance from the Lake and close driving distance to many wineries and antique shops. But I recommend just touring all the wineries, grabbing a couple bottles of wine, and spending the rest of your weekend at the White Rabbit. You won't want to leave!
Still the best night's sleep I have ever had away from home. Our host's, A.J. and Jan are more like old friends that we visit two or three times a year. Going out of season gave us a different perspective on the area. Loved being able to use the fireplace on the chilly (who am I kidding, it was cold!!! LOL) nights.
Loved this place hidden away in the woods. We, too, went in November (our anniversary - AND the owner's anniversary as well) and enjoyed every minute in our wonderful room. It's very casual and laid back and the management is helpful and accommodating.

This is my favorite restaurant in this area. They have an absolutely GORGEOUS outside seating area, its like you are eating in a garden. There are frogs and streams, love it. The food is top notch, I am always comparing this place to any other place in the area and they all pale in comparison. The owner is hands on and inviting, the staff is nice and attentive. I am so glad they are doing well.
Not only great food - FABULOUS food. Different food. Food that is at once healthy and delicious and innovative. Go and experience it for yourself.
My favorite, authentic little middle eastern wonderland that feels hidden just off the quiet portion of red arrow highway. They have renovated it significantly since I used to go here more often in my teens. I kind of miss the old, rough around the edges feel it had before renovation, but I always prefer the old to new. I highly recommend going here even if it's far trek from where you live! It's a special place.

We have been to Lakeside Inn perhaps 6-7 times now?! We love it. We go ever year with our friends and are going to stay here when we get married next June. It's a great place to relax- the beach is just down the stairs (about 80?) but its worth it when you get down there. :-) Great place. We actually will be up for Valentines Weekend!
This place is so dreamy, it's straight out of a book. Rustic decor, quiet surroundings, the lake just a hop skip and a jump away, I can't wait to go back! Would like to make a special mention of the new chef, Chef Dave, was really kind and gracious, baked us a delightful chocolate peach cake for a pittance of a price. He's whips up a scrumptious breakfast every morning.
Location is excellent and our bed was comfortable so those are two positives. Also if your looking for a rustic, historic type building to stay then this also meet that criteria. Otherwise the day staff is not accommodating, the building/rooms are dirty and Lakeside Inn have less than average amenities. We had breakfast in the cafe and the food was greasy and the eggs Benedict not edible (yes that bad). We went to use the bikes after breakfast and all the bike tires were flat. We asked about a pump for the tires and were told they have to check with maintenance. A/C in the room barely operated and it was so loud at night you didn't want it on as you were sleeping. Bathrooms were a bit above campground facilities. This has been a favorite place for my wife and I to stay over the past 7 years in Union Pier but is now off our list I believe what you have is an old tired owner who appears not to invest money back into the facilities and is tired of managing the facility.

My visit to Blue Plate last week was my first in a about 9 months. I use to have a home in Three Oaks, and would stop by all the time for breakfast. It was great to have a restaurant that understood organic & local foods back in the late 90's / early 2K's (Can't remember exactly when they opened). Although the food has always been fantastic, the service has ALWAYS sucked - especially during busy days / times. If you get there super early, you might be able to get in and out in a reasonable time. If you don't, you will be waiting a long time to even get a drink order in - and trying to get your check at the end of the meal? FORGET ABOUT IT! Most of the wait staff are kids don't have any restaurant experience, and there simply aren't enough of them on the weekends to boot. I believe the owner is one of the ladies back in the kitchen. She needs to get out on the floor more and see what's going on with these wait times for drinks and checks. The waiting for the food isn't bad if you can just get your damn order in! I think she use to have her boyfriend or husband help out in the early days - he was quite possibly the worst host ever. Here's what you guys need to do - go to Bongo Room or 11 City Diner in Chicago - see how they operate. People complain about these places sucking on weekends! At least they want to turn over tables and will get you your check! Bottom line is: Get the people's drink orders going, keep the coffee coming, and get them their check when they're done. Oh and one last thing: START TAKING CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS. This has to be the most annoying restaurant in harbor country because of this factor alone. Sorry for my rant, but I had to put in my two cents now that we have yelp.
We had a much diffrent experience then other reviewers; great service, great food, and paid with a credit card. We were seated right away and served drinks quickly. A waitress came around to refill coffee a lot (almost too much). Our food came in a resonable amount of time considering the Sunday morning crowd and hte fact is was all home made. Our food was delicious, and the French toast for the kids with thfaces on them was too cute. The kids loved it. Out waiter was always attentive and very nice. We had many people see if we neede anything else thoughout the meal. Will be back to visit this place in the future, it was a hit!
two stars for taking my order the way i wanted: egg whites only omelette with my guacamole, black beans dish. fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. amazingly strong coffee but with the sense of urgency vibe i got from the wait staff, one would think our order would have taken less time. the food is amazing! the wait, is not. in fact, the waitress took our order before the table next to us did and their order came out before ours. that is inexcusable. despite the complimentary side of pancakes we got. i'd say, if you have the time, go for it. or better yet, call ahead and order for takeout an hour beforehand, then take 30 minutes to get over there. don't forget their homemade cherry preserves they have for sale to take home!

We rented this house based on the website info and pictures and let me tell you that the pictures on the website have either been altered or were taken 20 years ago. The house is run down and dirty, the floors were disgusting with tiles and floor boards so loose that you could pick them up off the floor. I have an 11 month old and had to keep him from crawling around for his own safety....that was not an easy task to keep up for an entire week. Upon our arrival into our room I discovered there were sharp tacks that were broken off the shutters laying on the floor. That is dangerous for anyone....especially a baby. There were issues w/ the television, internet, kitchen appliances and washing machine and the place was not very clean when we checked in. All in all, I would not waste my time or money staying here.
