Pretty good make-over. Nicely cleaned up and friendly and courteous staff. Bring your appetite, I had the meatloaf...WOW!!! Great job. Would have been nice to enjoy a toddy or two, but I could wait until I get home. Overall, we will return!

Went there and they are closed!! Forever? For the season?? Not from the area, so we didn't know. They could put something on Yelp!!!!

First, it's important to say that we arrived 20 minutes before closing and the staff was so welcoming to us after a long drive! I found the food to be fresh made....good drinks. Roasted chicken tender and hot! The setting is quaint on the shore of a tiny lake. My rating is deceiving. Because I eat out a lot it's hard to give higher marks in comparison to all the places I've been. However, I would return.

My sister and I had lunch at the Iron Duck today. Our waitress was so sweet. And the owner was a lot of fun. We had the chicken salad sandwich and the burrito. It was quite good. Although the burrito was good, the chicken salad sandwich was to die for. It had so much chicken in it, creaminess, and I loved the cranberries in it. We enjoyed our lunch while exchanging coastal stories of fishing and clamming. We will definitely return. And if you haven't tried them yet, don't wait. You will be happy you did. And did I mention dessert? We had the pineapple upside down cake made from scratch. The portion was humongous and really yummy.

Fresh, quick, homemade food. We had the potato salad, broccoli salad, chicken noodle soup, and grilled ham and cheddar. All very good!!

Loved it! My husband had the steak stroganoff and was excellent. My New York strip came exactly as ordered. The carrot cake is the best I have ever had and I have tried a lot of them other places. Great experience. Everything is homemade also.

My family and I were in the Iron Mountain area for my grandma's funeral. We were looking for a place to eat that could accommodate my dietary needs, since I have Celiac's disease and need to eat gluten free. I saw on Urbanspoon that the Iron Duck was listed as gluten-free friendly, so we decided to give it a shot. It is not easy to find gluten free options in Iron Mountain, so I was a bit skeptical. Well to our surprise, the cook came out and personally asked me about what my special meal needs were and was completely familiar with gluten-free cooking. She was extremely attentive and even gifted me an order of fries that were made in a gluten-free frier, a very nice touch. The oven-baked chicken and mashed potatoes that I had for dinner were delicious, as was the meatloaf the rest of my family ordered. To top it off, the sunset over snowy Cowboy Lake, sprinkled with ice shacks, was really beautiful. It made a world of difference to have such great service and good food on an evening when we all needed some TLC. I recommend it wholeheartedly, especially for people looking for a good gluten free option in Iron Mountain/Kingsford.

Excellent food! Don't believe the negative review: bad apples. My wife had the taco salad - very fresh! I got the Blue burger and it was fantastic: flavorful, juicy and large. The cherry pie looked so good we bought a whole one for breakfast tomorrow ... and beyond. Decor is warm and homey. Friendly staff and owner. Highly recommended!

Made another trip to the Duck on cold, wet, slushy night--greeted with a warm welcome and again excellent food. The Greek dinner salad was good and plentiful. The golden fried chicken was perfect--the thin, crisp coating adhered to the pounded boneless chicken breast just exactly right. The only regret was that we still haven't had enough room for the very attractive desserts--may need to do a soup-and-pie combo.

The food is not bad, but it is pricey for what you get. I mean $9.00 for a chicken BBQ sandwich with nothing with it. Not even a couple of potato chips or a pickle. Same with the chicken salad, it good, but nothing with it for the price. They could do a little more with it, like make the outdoor area more accessible. I don't get it around here, they could advertise try a little harder to make it a good place to go.

Our food was terrible. My blue cheese burger was burnt on one side and the bun was burnt black. My husband ordered beef stroganoff and it came on a plate floating in gravy soupy sauce and was tasteless. We are not going back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
