We love Vitale's in Hudsonville. The variety on the menu is great. We've enjoyed everything we've tried. Everytime we've been in the service has been very friendly. I think the only negative we've ever had was when we were there with friends and about 2 minutes after we got our salads our entrees arrived. Yes - super fast service is great but I think in that moment it was a little too fast. Haven't tried the attached pizza place - but I'm going to guess that it's also very good.

We went here on a Saturday night and arrived right at 12am because on here it said they were open until 1 am. The door said 2 am , we walked in and they said they were closed. They said sorry we have not updated our door. I stated online it said 1 am, they acted confused and were like oh well. Hopefully we make it back during their open hours, their service is better then and they update the actual business hours online and on their door.

I'm used to Chicago pizza so moving to Hudsonville was a real eye opener in regards to how the rest of the world eats pizza - or what they think is pizza. We tried other establishments when we first moved but found that Vitale's is indeed the BEST pizza in town. They allow you to create your own pizza and have toppings like FRESH mushroom and FRESH mozzarella which really make a difference on a pizza compared to canned mushroom or just basic shredded mozzerella. Their website makes it easy to order online for either delivery or takeout and their actual bar/restaurant is very cozy, with great drink specials, Keno and a friendly staff. We've also had the quesadilla and the pesto pasta which were both fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant if looking for a place to go or a place to order in. As I mentioned before, definitely the best pizza in town.

Very big menu here. Everything from salads, to pizzas, to pasta dishes, to sandwiches, even to burritos. The pizza is the strongest offering by far. Haven't been that impressed with the pasta I've had here-- seems too generic, sauce seems straight out of a can or jar. Sandwiches I've gotten have been sort of meh, too. Sort of surprisingly, the burritos are decent. Really, though, just stick with the pizza. Beer and wine selection is pretty good. I do wish they would maybe mix it up a little bit with some of the local brews. Don't get me wrong, I like Founders Pale Ale, but they could do well by exploring more of what Founders has to offer, for example. Here's what really dropped my rating-- the service gets worse seemingly every time we go. Now, I have never had rude servers or anything like that, but I've had super slow service the last couple of times. Heck, on my most recent visit my wife and I were seated, and sat at our table for nearly ten minutes without even having a waiter/waitress acknowledge us-- and it's not like it was a busy Friday/Saturday night. Don't dislike this place, but I'm not in love with it either. Will continue to go here on occasion, but can't say I ever see it getting beyond, "Well, we could always go to Vitale's" in my book.

I live in Zeeland and usually end up at the Vitale's here in Zeeland. I must say, comparatively, the location in Hudsonville was a breath of fresh air. I went to eat with two other people. Here's our experience. What follows is a critical review of the food... As an appetizer I ordered chicken wings with a side of sesame garlic sauce. The wings were excellent. They had extra breading and were cooked well down creating a crispy outside though still retaining moisture and juiciness on the inside. The sauce was decent and reminded me of chinese food. In hind sight I would have tried the buffalo or the chipotle sauce instead. As far as entrees, I ordered a stromboli which they call a "calzone", my one friend had a 14" pizza margarita and my other friend had an eggplant parmesan sub. First, the margarita pizza. Surprisingly, the pizza was decent. I have been very critical of West Michigan pizza as a whole. Traditionally, pizza margherita is red, white, and green (the colors of Italy's flag). Traditionally, the red is fresh or stewed tomatoes, the white is fresh mozzarella (buffalo mozarella if you want to do as the Italians would), and the green is fresh basil. Additionally, traditional pizza margherita is very thin crust (not that cracker crap that is sometimes served but real thin crust). Vitale's had the tomatoes and the fresh basil. They also did there best to make a thin crust (still too thick) but closer than most places I've been too. They missed the mark with the cheese however. Rather than fresh mozzarella they used grated what tasted like factory made mozzarella. Despite this incidental, overall the pizza was well made. Second, the eggplant parm sandwich. The dish was a disaster. The eggplant was too thick and was not cooked long enough for how thick it was cut. The sandwich was dry. (Not enough marinara) And for my scathing criticism. The cheese was melted on the sub roll not on the eggplant. Guys, it's called eggplant parmesan not sub roll parmesan!!! My recommendation, stay away from the eggplant parm. Third, my food, the stromboli / calzone. They don't offer strombolis on the menu but the waitress said they have calzones which they make like strombolis. First, I found it interesting that the calzones don't offer ricotta cheese. I've never had a calzone without mozzarella and ricotta cheeses. Either way, my 'boli entailed fresh mozzarella, ham, pepperoni, bananna peppers, and onions. They did a fine job. The crust was crispy which meant they probably heated it in the oven smothered in oil or butter. It was tasty. Only complaint, again the mozzarella was not really fresh despite the advertising in the menu. Overall, I highly endorse the strombolis .

Pretty quiet most of the time. Happy hour starts at 3:00 which is a plus. Food is overpriced.

Huge menu variety. Our family goes a lot and we've never had a bad meal. They are known for pizza, but also have great salads, subs and authentic Italian entrees. Solid kids menu, too.

We really enjoy it. Very good food, always a nice atmosphere. Tad bit overpriced but not outrageous. Definitely recommend!

After swearing I'd never go back again, I mistakenly gave them another shot Sunday night at 6:30. We were sat at our table and ten minutes passed before a waitress came , after we told the hostess, and took our drink orders. She was very impersonal and acted as if we were an inconvenience. After placing our food order she never returned to check on drinks or anything. We received our food, I requested certain items be eliminated from my sub at the time I ordered, they were not. I sent my food back requesting I get it the way I originally ordered it. Upon receiving the replacement order I took one bite to find the inside was ice cold. I instructed the waitress to just take it off the bill and not get me anything to eat as I was at this point very irritated. We spoke to the manager (who happened to be an old acquaintance, and she couldn't have cared less about our bad Experience) I will NEVER go back or recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely awful.

Awesome. Four stars cause they can be slow sometimes. Dropped to three stars because the let people smoke right at the door. So you have to walk past all the smokers just to enter. I've contacted management but nothing. Ucellos just opened in Grandville so we go there now. It's a little further but better than smelling like an ashtray.
