This place is a very American, very small town diner. What else would it be, being located in Hudsonville? My roommate and I used to live in Michigan's Salad Bowl, home of farmers and homophobes. Okay, I'll stop generalizing, but this is a VERY conservative area. It was TINY inside, minimal decorations, mostly old-timey Hudsonville themed. The food was standard breakfast fare. The one thing that makes Times Past Diner stand out for me (and earns it the third star) is that they make their own bread, and have stellar "homemade toast" in many varieties, even cinnamon. It was very tender Texas toast style bread, and very good. Times Past Diner IS clinging to the past because they ACTUALLY still take personal checks (gasp)! I paid with one just because I figured I'd never get the chance again. So yes, if you're in the area and jonesing for breakfast, give this place a try. Be ready for stares from locals because you aren't one of them, but they die down after a few minutes and the food is decent. They only take cash or check, so come prepared.
