We love driving up to Mr. B's for ribs from Dexter. The ribs are exactly how we like them - plenty of them and fall-off-the bone good, with a nice sauce. We haven't found another place that can compare. The steak fries are good too. The place isn't fancy, which is fine with us...it is after all called Mr. B's Rustic Tavern. Can't vouch for other offerings except the sandwiches were good years ago.

I really like the atmosphere at Mr. B's, especially when it's nice enough to sit outside and sample some of their decent beer selection. The service, however, is typically pretty slow and unattentive, which should deter anyone wanting a quick bite to eat. It's certainly not the best food in Howell, by any means, but a nice place to hang out and have some bar food with some drinks while playing pool or watching a game.

I like the 'rustic' feel of the place. Been here a few times. Service is above average for a similar style place. The food is tasty and not too expensive. It's not the stuff of dreams, but is worth coming for lunch if you're in the downtown area!

We camp nearby and when in the area this is where we go. Good food , good service and good value for the money. Staff is friendly, very clean place and nice people to socialize with. Great lunch specials . Had sliders today and they were cooked just right. Husband had a Jack burger and it looked great. Soups are tasty, as well as salads. Happy hour between 2:00 and 6:00 has I/2 off appetizers and drink specials during the week.

My husband and I found ourselves hungry in Howell with no knowledge of where to eat. We don't live that far away, but we hadn't taken the time to check it out since we moved out this way. Well, I should have done some homework! Mr. B's is nothing special. There wasn't anything on the menu that was appealing to me. I admit I'm picky, but it was just very run-of-the-mill food. I finally settled on a Cobb salad, figuring they couldn't mess that up, but I couldn't eat much of it because the chicken wasn't very good. I can't remember what my husband had, but he wasn't impressed, either. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Fantastic mushroom, swiss and bacon burger! One of the best I have had! My fiancé and I will be returning for what looks like amazing pizza and chicken sandwiches. Atmosphere was cozy and friendly. Service was quick and kind. A perfect tavern experience.

The atmosphere is open and warm. The service we had the Saturday night was really good. Could not be better. I like that they have specials. Food was good American bar food. Nothing super but good. Everything was just real good.

Good food, good service and reasonably priced. The restaurant is located in the middle of downtown. The interior is neat clean and very much like many other sports bars.

Staff is always friendly and haven't had a bad meal here ever. We tend to eat here a few times a month. Love the lobster bisque soup so yummy!!! Great atmosphere and always able to get a table relatively quickly. Will be back many times for sure.

This place had one good thing going for them and it was their bartender. His last day was yesterday. There is no reason to go here. I live in this town can promise you that this is the absolute worst place to eat the food. It is old, stale and they don't care about it at all. Go across the street to Moes or down the street to Cleary's

Staff was alright, kitchen took 90 min for 2 medium burgers. Burgers were frozen not fresh

Nice & clean place!! Nobody was just standing around, if they did not have a table, clean up was going around everyplace... Service was good, dinner salad was a bit boring (thought I was going to fall asleep eating it!!) ordered the chicken special, which was nice & flavorful ... The veggie of the day was broccoli, big disappointment, cold & no flavor.. Broccoli was the same for all dishes ordered w/ our dinner dishes...location does have really, really big screen tv's.. So for hockey & baseball ( which both played tonight)... Great game view anyplace you sit!!

Lived around the area for 18 years and have visited this tavern quite a few times over the years and have never had a bad experience here. Food is typical bar food (pizza, burgers etc) and the location is right in downtown Howell. The atmosphere is nice, even if the restaurant decor is looking a bit dated by today's standards. Took my father here for a birthday dinner and ordered the chicken finger sub. He got the salmon. We both enjoyed our meals. The food was tasty, the server attentive and friendly and the prices reasonable. With outside seating this is a great place to relax and enjoy a meal while taking in the downtown charm.

SO and I came here for dinner one night since we try to go out to dinner at least once a week together. We've been hitting up Diamonds every time and we agreed that we should try and explore the rest of Howell's food offerings before committing to one place. It was between this place and the Mexican food place nearby and I chose this one because I generally like tavern food. Meh. It was busy, but not overly so. Our waitress was far too flustered and had trouble taking care of us for the amount of tables we saw her attend to. As previous servers as well we tend to be more forgiving for overworked waitresses but I think it was possibly a problem with experience, maybe not total incompetence. I hope. We had to ask for silverware, and the time it took between ordering drinks, to getting the drinks, to then ordering our food, to getting our food was ridiculous. Forget refills. Well we did get refills, but we were pretty much boxing up our leftovers at that point shooting each other "Oh my god get out of here." looks by that point. The food was bland, I got a chicken caesar wrap as there was nothing really special on the menu that was just the 'Taverns' specialty. You could have slapped "Applebee's" on the front of this restaurant and I wouldn't have known the difference. Very meh. We won't be returning unless someone has some sort of event here.

This place is located in the heart of downtown Howell. It's in an old renovated building with high ceilings and creaky hardwood floors. The upstairs houses a dance studio. The movements of which can be heard overhead. The front of the building faces onto the four corners of mainstreet. From this window area you can watch vehicle and pedestrian traffic scurry along. A good selection of draft and bottle beers are offered. I ordered the Dark Horse Raspberry Ale brewed out of Marshall, Michigan. I found it light bodied with fruity notes and a smooth finish. The menu is a varied affair. Choices range from prime rib to burgers, pizza and ribs. We were both pleased with the appetizer combo plate. I found my order of sliders to be quite good. My S. O. was happy with his cheeseburger and onion rings. My only complaint about this experience was the wait/bus staff being too quick to clear the table. Anytime I have drink still in my glass, I intend to drink it. This staff was so quick that a glass with a good two gulps left disappeared in a flash before I could stop it. The same almost occurred with my food plate. But I'm a fast learner and was ready with a block. So indeed I had a nice lunch with those leftovers the following day. Word to the staff, ASK before removing anything from the table. All in all it's a nice spot to grab a bite and brew.

This was a great pick since we are from out of town on the way to watch MSU vs OSU game. Loved the atmosphere of the restuarant, wasn't loud and obnoxious. Greated at the door by our hostess and excorted to our booth by the front window. Waitress was very pleasant and gave us time to look over the many choices from the menu, the only fault I found here was that she didn't mention any specials or make any recommendations. Food was fantastic, hands down kitchen staff very apt in their skills. Very affordable, definately would stop back when in the area again. Great service and great food served in a timely manner.

Mr B's is the perfect place to eat and watch a game. The food is good and it is a great place for kids and parents alike. I have visited Mr B's many times since moving to Howell and my family and I always enjoy it. Pizza is half off on Mondays!!!!

Hit and miss. Food is usually good. But most of the time the service is bad. Bad in the way of if I sit down and another family comes in and sits down and they get their food and check before I get a drink. I was displeased. I'll try one more time before I give up.

Nice establishment. Service was a little slow, even though there were hardly any customers - dunno what was up with that. They had video games and pool in the back. Hardwood floors. Lots of TVs by the bar. Food was excellent. Prices were fair, if a little on the high side.

It's probably the most satisfying all around place to eat downtown. The food is good and portion size generous nothing fancy or too out of the ordinary. That being said it's likely that every member of the family can find something that they will enjoy. Mr. B's does a good job running specials and doing up some special seasonal drinks. It's on the main 4 corners in the center of town. That makes it a great place to people watch from the out door seating during warm weather. Parking is fair on all but the busiest days. Service is always very friendly and attentive. The drinks don't disappoint and pricing typical.

For such a great location, you'd expect better food and a little better service. With that being said, its not terrible by any means and I'd gladly hang out and chat with friends over a few beers. Their burgers are decent, just don't go in expecting everything to be perfect.
