OK the food is pretty tasty and reasonably priced however the menus and tables were so dirty I handled the menu by the edges and did not lean my elbows on the table. I also observed staff eating behind the counter but where their food was coming from I cannot say. So I guess I'd go there again because the food was good, but they should really tighten up their act as far as cleanliness and decorum.

Based primarily on 1-2 visits to all the local Asian places this is the best Asian food in Houghton in my opinion - best vegetarian selection of the local places. Great flavor!! I loved the tofu, peanut and pepper dish.

Had the noodles, very good. A bit light on the chicken I asked for, but all around good and healthy quantity. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was amazing as well.

Omg!!! I went in here today, the cooks were putting food from the line into their mouths, and then into the containers to fill and cook......like the food they were making me, they were eating some before they cooked it. I almost walked out. But, I had already paid. NO EATING AND COOKING AT THE SAME TIME. I have never ever seen this in my life. YUCK!!!!!!! !

The food is not delicious and there is no service at all, the environment is also simple. just a takeout place when you have no time to cook and need something to fill yourself full.

This little hole in the wall joint is very good. From what I learned, JJ is a student at MTU and this little joint is how he keeps going. Food is rustic (in a good way) and very tasty. Only been here once and cannot wait to come back. It's the Asian uncle I never had cooked me dinner.

Great fresh hot food. An unassuming but favorite place of many. From a pure food standpoint it is the best Chinese restaurant around. The only problem is that it can get busy and the wait can be long at meal times during the school year. So I try to go there earlier or later than my normal mealtime.

I love this place. The downside is that I think it's kind of expensive for what you get. The help is usually kind of rude but I think that's mainly because they are busy and the boss (usually cooking) is tough on them.

Love coming to Homeghton and eating at Papa J's. You leave full, slightly broke, but happy and you won't crap yourself later. He cooks from memory and will make sure your taste buds are pleased. No MSG or excessive oils. It's real food made by a real good person.

Orders are filled fast, the service is friendly and the food tastes great. This isn't your run of the mill Chinese take-out restaurant. The food is made for each order, not in bulk in advance and you can really taste it. The veggies are fresh and the sauces are never overwhelming. Very good stuff here.

This is my absolute favorite restaurant for Chinese food, and I live in Seattle and frequent the ID. There are dishes here that you can't get anywhere else, namely the sour/spicy fried Goo Bao Pork. JJ also has the best egg drop soup ever. Sure, it's a Chinese restaurant in the middle of nowhere, which generally means it can't be that great. But seriously, it is.

Not bad food, bit pricey for what you get though. The sesame balls were good and the crab ragoon was different. Duno if I want to go back tomorrow or not lol

The food is delicious! No doubt about it. But....if you want atmosphere or a romantic dinner....NOT the place. The atmosphere is basic at the very least. But the food....ohh the food....fantastic!! Order take out....and set up a romantic spot somewhere else!

JJ takes great care when it comes to his cooking. This is the best Chinese place in town, even though its small. The entrees here are huge and come with white or fried rice. Great for vegetarians or pescatarians. Only thing - sometimes it can get super busy.

I'm so addicted to the chicken fried rice with the chili sauce, so delicious! But I hope someday I can pay by credit card there instead of paying by cash and get a lot of coins.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
