We love this place! We order carry out probably once a week. The grilled chicken Greek salad is awesome and the gyros are great! We get the chicken strip gyro and also the chicken fajita wrap! There onion rings are awesome too!!

Don't waste your money on this place! Service was quick and friendly. However, food was clearly cheap and pretty bad. I ordered the grape leaves dinner. The grape leaves were not fresh, and the leaves were hard. The dipping sauce was awful. The 'rice pilaf' that came with the meal was white rice with what appeared to be tomato sauce over it. Interesting. And the 'vegetable of the day?' Frozen peas and carrots. Everyone's favorite frozen veggie! My husband didn't care for his meal either. If you are looking for a Coney Island type meal, go to Leo's instead, you'll be much happier! Had two groupons for $15 to this place, so had to come back if I didn't want to waste money... Decided to give breakfast a try. Food was decent, nothing special. When I went to use my groupon, worth $15 of food and drink, they wouldn't let us use it because our bill was $14.73. Apparently we have to spend $15, even though it doesn't say this on the groupon. We asked if we could just put that toward the tip (which I've done at other places), and were told no... So they made us buy a pop, which we didnt even want or take, to use the groupon. Yet another reason NOT to return to this place!

One of the largest menus I've seen. They have about everything. Probably best to stick to the less exotic at the Red Olive - they excel at the items that are ordered the most. I like the price and the service.

I was very surprised to see some of the extremely negative reviews for Red Olive so I felt like I had to write my own. Some of these people must have been having terrible days. Especially A.T. who referred to the food at all the tables around him as over-cooked slop. Red Olive is not Morton's Steakhouse. It's a coney island. And it's a good coney island. Their gyro Greek salads are the best and contrary to some of the other posts, they use quality meat that is better than other coneys that I've been to. Don't let the negative posts stop you from trying this place. Formulate your own opinion after giving them a whirl.

You get what you pay for. Cheap diner food, but it's not bad. Got the gyro plate. It was okay. A lot of old folks eat here, and they didn't seem too happy to see a much younger customer for some odd reason...

Great food and great service. We just moved out to this area and we have made this our weakly place to eat. Gyro and chicken pitas are great! All salads the wife had looked and tasted amazing! Checking out can be a issue due to traffic jam of people coming in however, the freshness of the food makes everything better!

Just like any other "coney" or greek type restaurant out there. Nothing special. Service has always been decent. Prices are a little high for the quality of food.

My daughter and I went to this restaurant because I had a buy one get one free coupon. I had a salad and she ordered a sandwich. The service was slow even though they were not busy. When our good came my daughter immediately picked up the huge pile of pickles on her plate. Under the pickles, swimming in the juice was a fly. When we alerted the waitress she shrugged and said "that's just a fruit fly". She did make my daughter another sandwich, which she did not eat. It was a bad experience and we will never go to that restaurant again. I understand that these things can happen but the waitresse's nonchalant reaction was a total turn off. We won't be back.

Since my last review, I've been here several times and it has been awesome! The food is delicious & the service was great!

My family and I used to frequent Red Olive fairly regularly since they opened. However, the quality of their food and the cleanliness of the restaurant itself has gone way down. I last went a month ago and was surprised at how dirty the place has gotten. Dirty walls, booths, floors and water glasses (mine also had several lemon seeds in it although no lemon). Their weekday breakfast specials are a good deal, but I can't get over the dirtiness enough to bring myself to eat there again. Service is usually okay. They've retained a core group if the same waitresses over the years and most are pretty good.

Priced very well. There is about 32 salads on the menu. I always get an omelet and my girlfriend gets the French toast. I am never disappointed in the service or the food.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I gave them one star because I had too in order to post my review. Service was good but food was not edible. Ordered Greek plate and it was a large plate of food but not good at all. Sent it back and they offered a replacement So I tried the spinach pie that was microwaved so long the bottom was rubber and unedible. Will never go back.

My first experience with Red Olive was their location in Clawson. When traveling west to Walden Woods campground, I was pleasantly surprised to see this place, and excited to learn that they were affiliated. I wasn't however graced with the same product. While still good, it left a little to be desired. The food didn't seem as fresh as I remembered at their Clawson location. I just remember piping hot omellets with super fresh ingredients. My omellet on this visit was good, nothing spectacular...I did have to send my hash browns back...as I DO NOT understand the need to fry the hell out of these so that hardly any potatoe exists, only a burnt mess...Ugh..I seriously get annoyed when I'm dining with friends who insist on getting their hash browns well done...I have to pipe up... "I don't want mine well done" because I know mine will somehow get lumped in with their messes... I kinda wish we would've visited the little coney diner that is closer to the campground instead... But in a pinch Red Olive works, and all in all, you'll probably have good eats here...and I'd go back!

Yum! I love the Chicken Shawarma. The Egg Lemon Rice Soup was creamy, tart and the perfect temperature. The Saganaki is great too. Our service was friendly and fast. We'll be back.

Good for breakfast or coney only. Don't try anything else...

Came here for breakfast with the family, and it's basically your standard fare. The only difference is the prices, as they have a huge breakfast special (two eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon or sausage, big portions) for under $4. Definitely a great deal for breakfast. The also have a lunch deal for $5, but didn't find out exactly what that was. In any case, $4 for a big breakfast is hard to beat.

Decent Coney island type place. The breakfast is good but the rest of the food is a hit or miss. Sometimes fresh but, most of the time it's dried out. On Sundays they're are super busy.

Our favorite breakfast place in Hartland. Food is priced right and service is fast and friendly. The Farmers Salad is huge and very good for 6.95. Amy is a great server!

Casual family place. Kinda like a coney island restaurant, but not. We had breakfast there one morning and the server was nice and attentive, the food was good, and the prices were not too high. It was crowded, but our server did a great job. We had a nice meal. Pancakes, eggs, the usual fare.

First visit: service slow, food overcooked, took forever. We decided to give it another chance. Were seated.. No drinks offered. I looked at the food on other tables.. Unappetizing overcooked slop. After watching a man sit waiting for someone to come pick up his money while 3 waitresses stood around talking by the kitchen.. We still aren't even asked about drinks.. We walked out and drove 1/4 mile east to Leo's and are enjoying fast service and good food.

I don't understand why this Greek diner is so overpriced; the food is mediocre at best. Last spring my family and I used to go to the Red Olive quite frequently, but over the last 8 month their value has diminished and their prices have increased.

Haven't dined in just yet, but take out was great! In the mood for some Lemon Rice soup and a Chicken Shawarma and they hit the spot! While waiting for my food: the decor was comfortable, cozy and clean. Quick service and nice staff. I shall be coming back!
