This obscure Mexican grocery store is directly across from La Fiesta and, what it lacks restaurant ambience, it more than makes up for in food quality and value. We fed 5 people for $35 (including tip) and every one of us raved about our selections. The tacos are make simply: double soft corn tortillas with meat, chopped onion and cilantro; the sauces run from 2 alarm to 5 alarm, so choose according to your heat tolerance. The guacamole was outstanding and the chips fresh and lighter than most. My father-in-law's tostada was excellent. The point of this place is that their primary clientele is the hispanic community that comprises the bulk of the migrant labor pool in the area, so the food is authentic and priced to be affordable. The seating area is in the back and the trip is well worth your time!
Dang this place was good. As a gringo from West Michigan whose exposure to Mexican food growing up was hard shell tacos courtesy of Old El Paso or Ortega, I don't feel like I have a very good grasp of what's authentic Mexican food. That being said, this place felt like I was truly eating a meal in a restaurant in Mexico. There were cinder block walls, cement floors, a hodge-podge of tables and chairs, Mexican Coke, and a Spanish language channel on the TV. I'll admit, it is a little bit awkward walking through the grocery store to get back to the actually restaurant, but don't let that stop you, it's absolutely worth it. The wait staff spoke English and was very helpful in deciding what to get. I ended up with a burrito and a gordita, which were easily both the best I've had. My little girls both got quesadillas and even those were spectacular. I don't know what was in there, but they were fantastic. I highly recommend stopping in next time you're in Hart.
If you are looking for authentic Mexican food you have found the place! Guacamole made to order, cactus, beef, pork and chicken! For the more adventurous they have beef tongue and menudo ( spelling??). I recommend the torta and ceviche ! Others have said the chicken is nothing special so stick with beef, pork, cactus or shrimp. And of course the corn on the cob with whatever they put on it is amazing!

We stopped in on a Thursday evening before the fireworks- they were busy! But the service was absolutely wonderful. The pizza, is amazing. It's very reasonably priced. I would recommend it to anyone in the area.
This is the best pizza is in the world - so perfect - everything about it, including the name. Perfect crust, great cheese (not overdone), great taste.... Love this hidden gem. I love this place... me and my wife's fave :))
This place used to be a hidden gem but after the last few times I've been here it's went downhill- fast! Service is simply putrid!!!! Sometimes bad service can be worth REALLY good food but thats most definitely NOT the case here. It's pretty expensive too! Mediocre food + bad service = waste of money! Lots of pizza joints around the area- go elsewhere!

Great food, good service, cute diner. The corn beef hash was excellent. We stumbled on the place on our way home from vacation, and I'm definitely going to return next time I'm up there.
I pretty much only go here for breakfast. They have the best pancakes I've ever had. They also have good french toast. Other dishes I've had were fine, nothing special.
This place is a must for anyone visiting Silver Lake nearby. It's a family owned restaurant with amazing food at cheap prices. Everything was tasty and the staff very welcoming. Definitely try their omlettes and the chicken crisp burger! I'm yearning for their food again :(

Good service and great atmosphere! There's nothing like a hurricane and coconut shrimp under a tiki bar! They also have nightly dinner specials and occasional parties that are not to be missed.
I come to this area roughly twice a year and finding some decent chow can be quite a challenge. Especially once tourist season dies down. One genre that seems to hold it's own is bar food. Somehow burgers and deep fried food is hard to mess up and everyone seems to like the stuff. Enter Schooners. This little place is located in downtown Hart and the exterior doesn't really draw a whole lot of attention. Inside is this great old school type bar. There is a room off to the side with a stage so I suppose they have live bands there on the weekend. My freind and I were here for the food so we got some fried cheese curds, burgers and beer. Menu itself was pretty standard, burgers, fried foods, salads, sandwiches, etc. Now I'm not gonna get into too much detail over this. Burger was nicely done, fries were the seasoned fried variety, cheese curds were not really breaded cheese curds, more like breaded cubes of cheese, but not bad all the same. Waitress was freindly although just a touch distracted. Place just had the atmosphere of a friendly neighborhood tap that I could get used to. Parents with kids were observed coming into this place so bring the rug rats, apparently it's cool.
We went into Schooners for their all you can eat shrimp special they have on Friday & Saturday nights. We paid about $16 for this and I would say it was OK. You could choose between deep fried popcorn shrimp and/or boiled shrimp. Service was good here and they kept the shrimp coming. I wish the deep fried shrimp were the typical sized battered butterfly shrimp but for all you can eat I guess I can't complain too much. The beer is cold and they have a good selection of domestics and imports. They also have a pretty decent jukebox although you have to keep feeding it unless someone else does.

I come here to eat the best blueberry pancakes in this area!!! The waitress is pleasant. Big menu with breakfast all day!
Excellent menu, great food, nice people. It's always tough to decide what to get; it all sounds like just the thing I'd like to have RIGHT NOW. And not just your typical diner stuff but more aggressive diner stuff in the way of interesting breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, chicken, fish and sides. All very reasonably priced. And it is some good stuff, served up hot. Chicken is a specialty, but they whip up their own pulled beef and turkey...in fact, nothing really tastes like it's out of a can. Roast beef melt is excellent, so is the quesadilla burger. My Folks have been coming for breakfast for a few years and never leave disappointed. As for the service, it's warm and fast. The regulars are greeted heartily, but we out-of-towners feel just as appreciated. Now, if they could only offer the fried asparagus for more of the summer, I might think about that 5th star. It's perfect, the best I've had in the area BY FAR. Otherwise, this place is aok.
Would not go here if you want good food. Had the veg beef soup and all you tasted was salt. Had a reuben sandwich same size as a grilled cheese with enough fries for a 2 year old. Not worth stopping at again.

We have eaten here a lot and have loved it each time. The food is always good. The service is always top notch, and the prices are fair for what you get. We will eat again for sure here.
We had been looking forward to trying this place for a while and finally got around to bringing our family over to try it. However, the manager was incredibly rude to us upon our arrival and we didn't stay long enough to order, let alone eat. We requested a 6-top for our family of four as we have a toddler who needs a high chair & we also have a wheelchair. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, when we asked the manager for a 6-top, she scoffed at us and said, "Oh no, we can't do that!!" She promptly directed us to a cramped 4-top which was incredibly tight and was absolutely not going to work. Even though we asked again and requested some special consideration since the place was nearly empty and we had a toddler and family member with a physical disability, she made it clear that we were getting no consideration whatsoever. After trying to accept our lot and sitting uncomfortably for a few minutes, we decided that eating at this restaurant was a choice that we were not going to make after being treated so rudely. Needless to say, it won't be a place we ever choose to come back to again.
One word could describe this restaurant - overrated. The ambiance is very nice, but the price of the food does not match the quality. Customer service is usually really good, sometimes it takes a while to get the food. But again, for what the the dinners cost, I wish the quality of the food was better.

Was visiting the area and am a huge Mexican fan. I didn't finish my meal because everything tasted like it came from a can. Avoid at all costs.
La Fiesta cooks Mexican Inspired food for small town people. It's a great place for a group of friends to catch a quick bite to eat. Sure, it may not be authentic, but this is Hart, Michigan we're talking about.
I may be slightly biased to this particular restaurant as I have been eating here since it opened in 1987, but I also have a good basis to go on. I grew up eating home made Mexican food and lived in the Southwest for a period of time so I may also have a good grasp of what good Latino food is. From the home made tortilla chips to the succulent Barbacoa meat, there isn't anything that I haven't enjoyed at this restaurant. Well, except for the Mexican Bread pudding. In short, this restaurant is not only a great little place to get some good Mexican food, it has been a wonderful addition to the city of Hart.
