Delicious, delicious, delicious!!! EVERYTHING is to die for! We have been coming here for years and will continue to do so until my heart gives out.

My favorite place on vacation!! We go here every single year, almost every day that it is open. Incredible donuts and pastries, and they have an incredible cafe right next door that is amazing. Best Swedish pancakes I have ever had!

my Swedish Grandma would give this bakery 5 stars...and so will I. I haven't had such wonderful Swedish treats since my Grandma and mom stopped baking Swedish treats( to meet their maker in the sky! ) I LOVE this place, and plan my Michigan trips around their hours.

I've visited this place for years upon years and the quality has never changed from amazing and fresh. I'm a sucker for the 1/2 day old 1/2 off prices but I have always had amazing pastries, cookies, eclairs and bread from here. Yes, it is pricey but you aren't paying for factory made preservatives as these made on site and by hand the way it should be. Even through an ownership change years back I never noticed a difference in the way they do things and the quality. It is a bit dicey backing up onto Red Arrow Hwy during busy times from the parking out front so be careful.

This bakery is connected to Luisa's Cafe. The bakery makes doughnuts, cookies, kolaches, danishes, and traditional Swedish pastries. I think they do custom cakes as well. I HAD to purchase a few sweets, just to test-drive the place. The kolaches were pretty good, the doughnuts were tasty too. The teenager behind the counter didn't have much charm though. I look forward to stopping in the summer, when it's "tourist season" and the cases are fully stocked. CASH ONLY!! It's pastries, people. If you don't have enough cash on your person to buy some fried dough you should be ashamed of yourself.

If your wallet still contains cash, and your teeth need sweets, this is the place for you. I've dined at the restaurant and purchased sweets, and have vastly different reviews of both. However, I'll move my review on the restaurant to the Luisa's Cafe page. What an assortment! There are so many delicious breakfast and dessert treats to choose from, it's nearly overwhelming. I wanted to buy something for everyone for two reasons - 1, everything was so well-presented but 2, the prices! I was thrilled with the low-cost of most of the items. I was so happy with all of my purchases (as were the 5+ people that enjoyed their sweet gifts). I'm not from the area but visit often and this will now be added to the list of places I need to visit. I couldn't find anything in the area that was anything like this! Highly recommended!

I grew up with a summer cabin down the road, and we frequently bought pastries from this bakery, and while I thought it was terrific as a kid, I realize now that I just didn't know any better. The food and pastries are nothing special. They are good for the area, but frankly, if you are from a larger city, you have probably had much better. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you are passing by it might be worth a stop if you are craving something sweet.

Two words. Limpa Bread. This rye bread with a delicate anise flavor is worth the drive. The pastries/cookies/pies are nice, but if you leave without a loaf of limpa, you've wasted your time.

Cash. Cash means coins and dollar bills. Not debit cards. Not "but I use this all the time" Cash. Got it? Excellent. Then come here and buy your sweets. Peer into the many glass displays, decide what you want, stand in line a while, talk to the nice people who work here about what you want, then pay. With cash.

This place and Luisa's next door is a must when in Harbor Country. Pancakes are special. Thick bacon and hand squeezed OJ. Very nice service that is quick. The pastries at the bakery are unbelievable. My suggestion is to have breakfast and then take home something from the bakery. Guy Fieri should stop by.

Best chocolate donut I have ever eaten. Not to forget that everything else they make is delicious. Definitely stop by and pick up some awesome bakery goods.

This place has been here since before I was a kid, and I've been coming here for near 50 years. Not much has changed until the past ten years or so, when Luisa's Cafe was added. The sweets haven't changed, still the wonderful, ooey, gooey, diabetes-inducing delights that have been there for 50 years. Breads are good, elephant ears are enough to make you want to visit your dentist then your cardiologist. But for those special treats, this is a wonderful little place. Before you go, remember: CASH only. No credit cards. No checks. Closed on Mondays. It is insanely busy at times and certain employees move as fast as lightning getting through five customers while that one who is as slow as molasses in January is still working on the simple order from one customer. It's all luck of the draw ... so be patient. Parking is a bit tricky, careful backing out onto the Red Arrow Hwy there, the speed limit is 50 mph!

hands down the best bakery in the harbor area. even though I live in Cali now people who are from the area that I meet in my job still comment on how rockin this place is. To most this place is a family tradition. plus just down the road is cherry beach. :-)

What gives? People keep talking about the delicious pastries. How does anyone wait in line long enough to get service!? And, believe me, I'm not hatin'. I'm not talking about some kindly elderly folks wobbling around trying to take orders. I'm talking about surly teenagers who, if they don't know you by sight, simply will not address you. My family lives up the street and we've each tried a few times to support this place. The frustration level is simply too much. Besides, if you make the mistake of going later in the morning, there's not a pastry to be seen. Sleep late and you can forget it.

Amazing pastries and cookies. Nothing more to say. If you are in the area save some room to sample a few.
