Love this place. I've been going there since it opened over 25 years ago. I usually gat a large spaghetti and my wife loves the cannelloni. The service is always courteous and fast. No matter what you order you will like it.

Cute little place - food good - but as one review said, the flavor could use a little more "pop". Will try pizza next time in town ... And certainly beats out the other Italian restaurant in Hancock!! Which reminds me DO NOT on any occasion bother to go to Gino's - "the other place" that is truly Bad!!!!! Q

Chanced upon this place while visiting my daughter at Tech. Nice little place with a great atmosphere...nothing franchised about it. I got lasagna, wife and daughter shared a pizza. Food was really good, my only complaint was the place was pricey and the portions were somewhat stingy. For that reason I am subtracting a star. Otherwise, this was a nice little place to eat.

Delish food. Great atmosphere. Always had great service as well. Down side. Call ahead and save a table! This place is very small and a tight squeeze. I'd suggest leave the kids at home. Date nights only. Great for date nights!!

Overpriced food and overpriced drinks. I tried the antipasto salad. Its very small, overpriced and unimaginative with a few bits of cold cuts. And $8 for a glass of wine? That's big city markups! For $20, I walked out hungry! The draw is its small intimate size. This makes it loud when there's a big group in the center table, or just a loud person anywhere. The windows have booths (2) and its fun to look outside).

Never mind the two Lessor reviews. This place is classic. Great Italian restaurant with hand painted sign and everything. Great food and personal service. Looking forward to returning. A serious diamond in the rough in Hancock

Visited for the third time last night. It's a go to spot for my MTU students in the family when we're in town. Great service, great food! Classic Italian menu, my sons favorite is the pasta dishes with the garlic cream sauce and pesto mixed together. Had the chicken Parmesan last night, awesome! Portions are very generous.

Overpriced. Small portions. Mediocre flavor on some dishes. Two of us ordered the $14 portabella mushroom ravioli dish (6 each). We were going to order the squash raviolis but they informed us they are frozen! The dish came with a bland roll. No olive oil with rosemary, basil, thyme, garlic, ground black pepper, sea salt to dip your bread in. Just a boring pat of butter. The ravioli was rather bland as well. $30 for two people not including drinks!! I'm sorry, being half Italian I'm used to eating in authentic Italian restaurants in Chicago and in Italy. I guess people around here don't know any better so the food comes off as wow to them. I also tried the rigatoni which looked good (very fresh) but was average at best in flavor. Nothing to write home about. What this place is trying to offer is an authentic Italian bistro look and feel with the decor, black uniforms and long aprons. But, some of the food falls short and needs to be ramped up in flavor just a bit. The flavors need to "pop" and that's not happening. Especially at the prices they are charging. The service was good and the people are extremely nice. Nothing spectacular to entice a second visit though.

The only Italian restaurant in town and they serve excellent dishes. Nice dining atmosphere.

This is a cute little Italian place on the main street in Hancock. It has this sort of 1950's/ Lady and the Tramp vibe, due to their two booths up in the front windows, wood paneling and minuscule seating area. The food is tasty, even if it is just a bit pricier than other local fare. While the flavors aren't 'true' Italian (more Italian-American), they are still delicious. The meat sauce and marinara have a hint of nutmeg in them, which is a tasty addition. We've tried their gnocchi, a variety of ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, and salads, all of which have been delicious. They have a nice wine and beer list, too. It's one of our favorite 'date night' locations.

Not only is the food authentic and delicious, but I accidentally left my Discover card there. The owner tried unsuccessfully to locate me on Facebook, and they kept my card until I called. Then they mailed it to me that day. I appreciated the small town honesty.

I love Gemignani's. Granted, being a poor college student when I lived in Hancock, I didn't visit very often as its expensive as hell for a tiny portion ($9 for 7 bitty raviolis), but now that I'm gone I truly miss it. You can't go wrong with the vegetable ravioli smothered in alfredo sauce. And the Italian sodas are pretty good. This place is tiny (probably one of the smallest restaurants I've ever visited), so if you're planning on bringing a group you'd better make reservations.

My wife loves this place but I'm not a huge fan. It is really the only choice for true Italian food in the area so it's usually busy. The service is always good.

I love the character and the menu at Gemignani's. The food is very good - though portions are reasonable - not large. Great house wine choices. Service is acceptable at best. In a dinner for 8, multiple orders were delivered to the wrong diners, and they have (5) types of ravioli, with identical appearance. I've watched people sit down, wait 15 minutes without a server welcoming them, before walking out. Go in expecting this, and you will enjoy the quality food.

This wonderful little unpretentious multiple-generation family owned and operated Italian place is among the best choices to dine out in the Copper Country.

This place is a favorite. Their smoked salmon linguini is delicious and all their chicken dinners are great, too. The chicken is always cooked just right, which I really appreciate.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
