I'm a dive bar girl and this is a dive at its finest. The owner is wonderful. Kareoke on Fridays. The kind of place you can stay all night drinking without wanting to go anywhere else.

If you're looking for a no-frills bar, where you can talk to girls who probably hate you, this is the place for you.

I have been here 4 times, 8 Tyskies. 4 years ago, friend and I walked in during Labor Day Hamtownfest, loved it. 2 more Tyskies next year!

I love dives. I love 7 Brothers. The bar is deep and narrow . It is literally only bar seating - how great is that? At the end of the bar is a pool table. There is also a juke box (great mix of music btw) and that is it - that's the whole bar. LOVE. Seventy-four year old owner George has run the bar since 1977. Nice, relaxed, friendly people and good music. Only downsides - mixed drinks were $5 (which isnt cheap in my eyes) and cash only.

I can't give 7 Bros anything other than a five. The best jukebox in town (none of that touchtunes crap), cheap bottled beers, and a well-maintained pool table (George, the owner, will beat you if you challenge him). The design is beautiful, and it's always quiet, which is a positive and negative. Ruth is a great bartender, and so is Brian. Drink beers here.

Classic dive, classic hamtramck. Cheap beer, and cheap liquor with or without mixers and rarely a garnish. Great jukebox and a well used pool table. No blaring TVs to hog up the night. It's easy to look past, but an extremely serviceable hole in the wall. Pull up a stool, and rub elbows with hamtramck, bud.

Gracing a number of "Best Of" lists, this Hamtramck joint just may be the epitome of what a dive bar should be. With cheap booze, PBR's for a mere $1.25, a gaggle of regular barflies, and a bartender that's been mixing drinks for a little over forever, 7 Brothers is a great place to grab a drink before or after a show. What I love about this joint is the eclectic mix of folks lining the bar, everyone from your native Poles to local rockers to college students. Everyone is always friendly here and a good time, guaranteed. The enviroment is so relaxed and casual, it's a great homey, feeling bar to enjoy some inexpensive drinks at. Oh, but bring your cash, 7 Brothers doesn't do debit.

Too bad you can't bottle the owner George and sell him - you would make a fortune - he is truly priceless. I haunted this place some 15 years ago when George only owned the bar for a mere 20 years. George has not changed a thing in 35 years (other than a few light bulbs and some new flat screens). When I was a regular here back in the 90's there was an old art-decor looking refrigerator, probably from he early 50s, that kept beer cold just above freezing - it is still in use today. This bar was built and has continuously been serving beer and booze to thirsty folks since the late 1920's. In 35 years (of the 85 year history of this location) George has been faithful to the roots of this place - simple, friendly and affordable. What else is there? To this day George has never employed more than two or three other bartenders (all part-time). George, himself, is the reason for the success of this place - and he knows it. He is very entertaining and has some great stories to share. Ask George about his his six other brothers - he even has photos from the 1940s to show. Come here once and you will will want to visit again and again - guaranteed.
