If you're going thru town like I was I would recommend this place for a quick and unique bite to eat. The service was excellent and atmosphere was fun and littered with local nostalgia. The food was great and came in massive portions. Pretty decent beer selection, too.

This used to be a great place with great atmosphere and food but every time I have gone here in the past 5-6 years, it's been really bad. The service is lackluster, the food is not good and has even made me sick. The burgers are as dry as you can get and everything is really overpriced. Who ever thought remodeling this place was a good idea, had it very wrong... now it looks awkward and cluttered. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Typical small town bar & grill. Thought the burgers were good, decent beer selection, and good atmosphere. Friendly staff always helps too! Good for a group of people to just eat, drink, and have a good time in a small, historic downtown.

Just went back to Huck's recently while visiting my old, charming, sort of falling apart hometown. Well, I think Greenville is on its way back, if the food and service at Huck's is any indication. New menus and menu items were the first sign of good things to come, but the real improvement Huck's has made is its return to using high quality hamburger meat and other ingredients. My patty melt was excellent this time around; I would recommend it to anybody.

Average bar food. Burgers, ginormous tuna melt on rye. I approve. During a "break" from my place of summer employment, a friend and I had some foodstuffs here. Camp food is pretty decent, but it's nice to have some variety now and then.

I liked the atmosphere partially because I prefer old buildings to new, slap together chain places. I had an omelet, which tasted like a pancake, for some reason. I think I know the reason it tasted like a pancake. I'm sure they just didn't get around to cleaning the grill off, but I've only had that happen once before about 20 years ago in the Detroit area at a place that is now closed. I would have complained, but that's a good way to get someone to tamper with your food when you get the new plate. The hash browns were about average, decent, but not the best I've had. The food also was delivered haphazardly. A side order was forgotten and my toast came ten minutes after the omelet and there were only ten people in the whole place, so it wasn't because they were too busy. The good thing about them not cleaning the grill is I get to taste two different entrees while only paying for one. The reason I didn't give two stars is because they used real cheese in the omelet, whereas so many places use fake cheese, plus it was otherwise cooked perfectly. That would be a bummer to get a sirloin steak and find it tastes like Aunt Jemima pancakes, but this was a mere omelet. I wonder if I had ordered pancakes if it would have tasted like an omelet?

I was excited to show my boyfriend a Greenville staple restaurant after the many we've tried elsewhere. I was sadly disappointed. While Mike was as attentive as usual the wait staff was not. They seemed rather confused, didn't get that we wanted water and pop, and far more attention paid to the bar side then the restaurant side. It had been a while since I've been to Hucks and I didn't anticipate that this once popular gathering spot would be close to dead on a Friday night. I was disappointed that my boyfriend didn't get to see my favorite hometown locally owned establishment at its finest. Hoping it was just an off night and not an indication of a bigger problem. I never thought I'd give a poor review of Hucks

This was the first time visiting this restaurant for us. First off this place deserves more than 3 stars. First of its on main street right in downtown greenville in the old school area, so from the outside it doesnt look like much. Inside its filled with tons of antique stuff, its kinda got that hole in the wall feeling. They serve tons of beer choices. We took my grandma out for her birthday and they have an awesome birthday special. So there were six of us, for appetizers we got their munchie platter and the potato wedges. Omg on the platter was fried mushrooms, onion rings, curly fries, fried cheese balls, and a few cheese sticks. Everything was so good, specially the cheese balls they were like little deep fried balls of spicy cheese. For the potato wedges, they do not skimp on the cheese or the bacon! For entrees 2 got the steaks, 2 got the all you can eat fish, 1 got the burrito and the other got their ribs. First i normally get a steak whenever i go to places like this, it was so good and ask for sautéed onions they give you a ton! I was told their fried fish was the best they've ever had. And the ribs were the meatiest ribs i ever seen. Definitely would go back next time im in the area. The waitresses are very nice and prices i didnt think were bad! Definitely a must see.
