I was keeping my fingers crossed that they would be able to make my all-time favorite Blizzard that no one can make anymore...that I grew up eating at this exact DQ. So what is this magical flavor? Peanut Butter Crunch. It used to be on the menu everywhere like 20-25 years ago--it's just peanut butter sauce and cookie crunch but not every place carries the crunch. I started my spiel like I always do: "I'm hoping you can make a Blizzard for me that used to be on the menu. It has peanut butter sauce and cookie crunch." She barely batted an eyelash and said sure. Be still my heart. Then I asked the next most important thing: "Can you please make sure to mix it really, really well? Most places where we live mix the top half and leave the bottom all vanilla." Of course, she said. Oh my. I splurged and ordered a Large (I typically only order a Small because it's some waaaay-distant-second-place-flavor like Mint Oreo). And it was HEAVEN. Five stars for making my day, my vacation, and bringing back the memories of growing up in this small town.

Small simple menu, but it meant that there was attention to the little things! Homemade biscuits and a homemade gravy. It was amazing. And Large! That's your warning. My kiddos devoured a short stack and sausage. I was even envious of the corned beef hash at a table nearby. There is one thing of note. If you don't support the military, stay out of town and stay out of this restaurant. This is a great place for them to train and serve our country. And they love eating here.
Good food, generous portions, reasonable prices, good service. What more can you ask for?
When you first pull up to this restaurant, it looks like a Baptist church in Tennessee where the rattle snakes are in a back room in wicker baskets..... I was hoping breakfast would be very good, but it is a little off the mark. I tried the Southern Omelet with gravy, home fries and raisin bread toast. The gravy was good and homemade, but the whole meal had no seasoning.... the home fries, no seasoning at all and as bland as bland gets. The locals must have fragile digestive systems here in G Town....lol The patrons were a mixed bunch... you definitely had your belly up to the table forearm resting flannel shirt wearing lip smacking men holding their forks like a shovel. The waitresses are a hard core trailer park logging truck type with deep voices... Not bad... not great.

Wonderful little gem in town. Stopped in whole traveling and celebrating my daughter's birthday. The staff was very helpful and the baked goods were delicious. Pasties and lunch fare available too. Definitely worth a stop when you're in Grayling.
Best cookies in Michigan! Donuts are very good as well. Always feels like a small town mtg spot. We stop every year on the way to Traverse City!
Yeah I don't know.... I really did not see it here in this bakery. I bought a "cream cheese rich coffee cake" for $ 7.59. It is really a chocolate pan cake with a bunch of gaggy rich too sweet frosting I noticed that they have "Albie's" pasties..... where am I, Traverse City ? Albie's is all preservatives and garbage. If you want to serve great pasties, you have to make them fresh. I ate one slice of the coffee cake and the rest was thrown out....

Excellent food, good portions & gluten free/vegetarian options. Good place to stop while traveling on 75.
I love this place. The wait staff are so nice and sweet. They go out of the way to make sure your dining experience is A1! The food is always piping hot and full of flavor. If you go to this restaurant you have to have the egg drop soup. It's not your typical egg drop soup. The flavor is one of a kind They have some Thai food on the menu also!
Closer to I75 & on the north side - different location than directions gave. EXCELLENT ambiance! Will DEFINITELY stop again!

I love to come here to the Bears Den Pizzeria because it gives you a history lesson. I like the idea of a museum/diner it appeals to me. I also have been here through out the past 20 years and have always enjoyed the food. We love to stop in and order the breadsticks. They are almost like a small cheese pizza with out the sauce(which you can order on the side) and they are super yummy. They also have dessert breadsticks with cinnamon and a side of frosting. Also very yummy. The staff here is typically very friendly, on their toes, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted great pizza and good service and with a history lesson to boot..heck yeah!
I and six friends stopped here while on a snowmobiling trip. We had a late night pizza, wings and a few beers. Our server was extremely friendly, the cook prepared the pizzas and wings quickly and it was all terrific. Their pizza is a thinner style crust, a little on the limp side (which I prefer) and loaded with cheese. We got one of their specialty pizzas that is an 18" loaded with one pound of cheese and 100 pepperonis. The pleasant surprise of the evening was that the beers were cheaper than the soft drinks. $1.50 for drafts.
Decided to try this place out since I really didn't want "typical" pizza and was sick of fast food from some travel lately. I decided to try the veggie pizza (The Alaskan) and some Bear wing appetizers. The wings were simple but the pizza was pretty good. I kinda regret not trying the subs *hups", but since I would come back again if in the area maybe then. The do have a buffett for lunch and for dinners on Monday and Tuesday's which I would have done if I came on the right day! :( Staff was friendly and pleasant! Oh, and I got a military discount! (Always a plus!)

Here is a quick shout out to Brianna - that girl works her butt off! On a day where they were severely understaffed Brianna held this place together with vigor, determination and friendliness. They encountered some technical difficulties (dough machine broke so everything had to be rolled out by hand), orders were piling up yet she kept it together. Her coworker seemed uninterested and demotivated, I felt bad that she had no support from him in all of this. The service here is great, super friendly and accommodating - they truly aim for customer service here. The stars aren't 5 star level, only because the food wasn't my favorite. The cheesebread has a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste (though lots of people seem to like it) and the pasties are kind of dry. Service and friendliness wise however, many places can learn from and/or stand to hire themselves a "Brianna". 5 stars for her, 3 overall.
It might not be the cleanest little Mom & Pop pizza joint, but the food is tasty. I'll admit that I'm partial to the Bears Dens pizza and Cheese Bread, but Spicy Bobs ain't bad. The grinders are on house made bread and are generously built. Apparently they were voted "best grinders in Northern Michigan" (according to the cashier), but I don't know by whom or when. Either way, they are good. The Silly Stiks are good old fashioned Crazy Bread, which is funny because this place very clearly WAS a Little Caesars at some point in time, as evidenced by one half of the original "Pizza! Pizza!" sign still on the wall. They also sell Albies' Pasties if you're into that kind of thing.
Stopped here on a whim after seeing many signs for hot pasties while visiting Michigan. Was greeted by the owner and pasties were delicious.

My girlfriend and I came in for a couple of beers and a little snack. I was so dumbfounded and confused by the negative reviews! The ol barn isn't anything spectacular, and the service was not bad, but not spectacular. What set this place apart for me were the wings...seriously some of the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot of wings in my lifetime! Also, on Thursdays they have $6.00 pitchers of Miller Lite. Now that's what I'm talking about!!
Ordered a "fried half-chicken dinner". Pure Garbage!! Received 3 pieces of chicken (a very small wing, small thigh, and small drumstick). I wondered what they had done with my half of a chicken breast?? The chicken I received was, no doubt, from a Banquet frozen dinner. It was microwaved so long, that the pieces weighed less than a marshmallow! They were microwaved totally to dehydration point. It was not only a joke, but a personal INSULT to me! I had asked the waitress prior to ordering, how the fried chicken was and she told me "it's very good!" The boxed mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted a week old. This food was far beyond ridiculous. The water was excellent! The owner should be UTTERLY ASHAMED serving frozen TV dinners to the public! And to whoever ate my missing chicken breast, I commend you for your bravery!!
I really wanted to like this place since my husband is friends with one of the owners but it was horrible. The band was way too loud. We could not even have a conversation. My husband ordered the all you can eat fish. After one plate of fish, my husband ask for another plate. The waitress told him that the cook was an a**hole & closed the kitchen early so he couldn't get another plate of food. It was 9:00pm on a Friday! Some of the owners were at the restaurant you would figure they would tell the cook to open the kitchen back up. But they did not. When we got our bill, the fish dinner was on there for full price. My husband didn't want to make a scene & dispute the bill so we paid it & left. Horrible experience & even worse service.

Stopped during a road trip for a sit down meal of burgers and a milkshake. Service was reasonable and food was okay. But the place is kind of run down and there was a sewage issue in the men's room. (of course the guys in our group all blamed each other...lol)
Like many others I stopped in during a road trip into the area and cannot recommend. Table was dirty, seat too - used 4 napkins to clean while I waited 25 minutes for a waffle, eggs and sausage. Waffle was barely edible but eggs and sausage were okay. You can tell the cooks nor waitresses don't take any pride in their jobs here...
We ate there Saturday evening and were far from satisfied. We ordered the 2 for $20, which included the salad bar. Lettuce on was brown and salad bar overall disappointing. Service was slow, though the place was not busy. We asked our waitress for a glass of water on three separate occasions. Dessert comes with the deal to split - the waitress brought our bill and we had to ask about the dessert. I won't go back, extremely disappointed, especially since the Big Boy near our home is so much nicer. We spend quite a bit of time at our cabin in the area during the summer, and we will NEVER eat there again! Advertise free wi-fi, but we could not get any service once supposedly connected on iPad or either of our phones.
