This was only the second time in the last ten years or so that I've visited a Famous Dave's, so I don't have a good basis for knowing whether my experience here was consistent with other Famous Dave's or not. But in a nutshell, while I thought the food was pretty good (I ordered the Texas Manhandler sandwich but without the Hell-Fire Pickles), I didn't feel it justified the price. With the sandwich, some fries, and a coffee, plus tax and tip, I was out the door for a little more than $12. But after it was over, I was asking myself why I hadn't just gone over to a prominent fast food chain and gotten an Angus combo for just over half that. Maybe I'm cheap, but I just wasn't bowled over by either the sandwich or the experience.

Totally fine. Has more seating than other bbq joints. Nothing special but totally edible BBQ.

Had this to go over the weekend and very good food. For $50 we had food that lasted us around 6 meals. We especially loved the beef briskets, cornbread and the grilled pineapples. Potions were quite generous as you can sense from the fact that it lasted us 6 meals. This is the only BBQ place we have been to in the Grand Rapids area and will probably keep it that way for future.

Like stepping into a Georgia mother's kitchen. This place is amazing! We go here often and love love love it. The food is so authentic and delicious. The meat is so tender and just falls off the bones. I could die for their ribs! Great value for the money. Service is wonderful. Definitely a great choice!

The food here was good, but not anything to get excited about. Both my sister and I thought the mild sauce was a bit spicy but edible. As for the flavor it was good, but not extraordinary. The meat was a bit tough on my ribs so that's an area they could stand to work on. Another area they could work on was their garlic mashed potatoes. I enjoy garlic, but in this case it really was pretty overpowering and the texture of the potatoes was way too thick Our server was friendly and our food arrived very quickly so those were the highlights of our visit. If the prices were lower I would have rated it 1 star higher, but it's pretty overpriced for the quality of what you get. In summary I guess if I was in the area and hungry I might consider stopping in again, but it's certainly not someplace that will pop into my thought process if I'm craving good barbeque.

BAD BAD experience the second we walked thru the door, So Sad, This is my Second attempt here in 4 years, I should have went to Burger King, We got there at 4pm no one in the Whole Place but one other family. Our Server took 10mins. We ordered and she forgot to ask us if we wanted anything to drink, I had to remind her to ask for our drink order. I have a medical Condition and all I can eat is soft foods really Mashed Potatoes, The food came out 40 mins later and no Mashed Potatoes, I had to remind her again, No apology nothing. The Potatoes hit the table 5mins later and it was 3 table spoons in a small bowel, I called for the manager, this guy shows up at my table dressed sloppy in my opinion to be a manager, he had no customer service skills, SO SAD, I wonder how many people just leave when they have to deal with this guy, I asked if I could get some moer potatoes and he said No this is the size and I would have to order another side, so almost $6 bucks for 6 table spoons of Mashed Potatoes, I told him to take it away and I would never pay for that. No compromise no apology nothing from the server about our wait time, portion size, and her forgetfulness. You've been warned Patrons. Bad experience from the min we walked thru the door Food avearge at best. SO SAD ALSO NO WIFI (((REALLY))) Even Mickey D's has WIFI

When famous Dave's first opened they gave you a lot more food for the lunch special than they do now. They have taken away the corn, a few bones, and who knows what else. I used to leave there feeling good about it, now I usually feel cheated. That said, the food is quite good.

Love going here. Never disappointing. The service is usually good. I like that the food is quickly prepared. The ribs are so very tender the meats falls right off the bone and to compliment the ribs is the Mac n cheese. I have to get mac n cheese every time because it's that good.

The lunch specials are reasonably priced and are quite tasty. I had the Georgia Pulled Pork and the Roasted Chicken. The waitress was polite and helpful.

Super good pork BBQ but a bit pricey for my taste. A-OK for a good BBQ though!

I can depend on Famous Dave's for some good southern style smokin' ribs. Yummy! Best eaten naked!
