Moondance is the best restaurant in Fremont, hands down. Every time I visit Fremont, I am sure to eat here at least once whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. For breakfast, my personal favorite is the Crab Omlette. This must be about 2000 calories of absolute creamy deliciousness. It is so good, like lick-your-plate good! I've also had and enjoyed the Banana Fosters french toast and the stuffed hash browns. As for lunch and dinner, the burgers are excellent, local meat from Berghorst. The Olive Burger is my personal favorite (definitely can't find an Olive Burger down in NC) but I also have really loved the Chicken Salad sandwich and the vegetarian panini. I've always had A+ experiences here. There is an amazing waitress named Lori who is sure to make your day even better.
So happy we found this place. Cute and clean. Staff is friendly even though we were there close to closing. Great menu and the food was wonderful! Full bar and incredible coffee menu!! We will be back often!
Good service. Several good vegetarian options for lunch, great breakfast menu. The spinach artichoke omelet is amazing.

Ate here with my sister. We had hummus and chicken kebobs, a healthy alternative to the traditional burger, wings, fries, etc. that you find at bars. (They have those as well) Not alot of beers on tap, but a good representation of some Michigan microbrews from Grand Rapids and Mt. Pleasant. This is a bar/restaurant, very informal. There is little else to do on a Saturday night in Fremont or Newaygo County for that matter so if your looking for night life you are in trouble. But I would recommend this place for beer and food. (Could use a better wine menu, but maybe it's not a big seller here.)
Awful service, awful food. Asked about getting a tshirt and she never brought me one. Ordered the fried chicken special, not sure what it was but wasn't chicken. In addition, the owner/manager was hovering over me the whole time.
I wasn't sure about this place when we walked in but I am soooo glad we sat down and had dinner. Good choices and the food was very good. We sat in the bar and received great service even with them being fairly busy. We will be coming back maybe even tomorrow to try something new. This place was a real pleasure.

Spanky’s Pizza

OK is right. The breadsticks are yummy indeed, but forgettable. The poor service out weighs it all. Our waitress told us all about the pizza buffet and when we asked, "Do we just get up?" She told is it was closed. Seriously?!? Why try and sell us on it? Also, it creeps me out when servers take your cup in the back to refill it--imagine my momentary panic when ours grabbed a cup from our table and the one behind it. I'm all about avoiding cross-contamination. Nasty! Our family ate at Spanky's the night before and loved it; I think the service really ruined it for us. The food was OK. The portions are small and they are stingy with the napkins--sheesh! My BFF says it should be called "Skimpy's". She's a funny gal.
EVERYONE talks about this place. I was impressed with the breadsticks and the pizza. Not the best I'd had in the area but still up there. The environment was Your average hometown pizza shop with plenty of seating, a nice change from some other shops around. I only went a couple times but had a decent experience at each one. Try it out.
Best breadsticks on the planet! A fun place for lunch or dinner. The pizza is alright, as said before, this place is all about the breadsticks! :)

Koffee Kuppe

I try not to frequent establishments that have "off spellings" but this one was a pleasant surprise. We are not coffee/koffee drinkers but thoroughly enjoyed the yummy wraps and tasty soups in a laid back yet quaint atmosphere. We'll be coming back! :)
Lackadaisical service, tasty egg sandwiches, and slightly-scary smoothies. Both the breakfast burrito (with sausage) and the egg-and-cheese croissant ("Veggie Style", with tomatoes and bell peppers) suited us well for a pre-hike fortification. Fremont's one of the more entertaining towns near the southern end of the Manistee National Forest --- lots of Gerber stuff, including a 5-foot-tall baby head mural inside the Koffee Kuppe. The "strawberry-banana smoothie" reminded me more of a 50s-vintage shake --- I didn't see any actual fruit going in, and the banana flavor reminded me of Laffy Taffy more than Chiquita. The back of the store has the usual Cherry Republic and joke-sign tourist gear. Free wi-fi makes up for the fairly sparse cell coverage. Definitely worth it for the food, I'll try the ice cream next time, but budget some time and maybe skip the smoothie.
Really good coffee, and the spinach and artichoke omlete is delicious! Along with great service makes for an enjoyable morning.

Authentic Thai food! I like the flavors. Can't speak to the Chinese food. The restaurant is a little outdated but very friendly staff. Fair prices. I will return.
Not thrilled with this place. I went here for the lunch buffet and it was only luke warm with not many selections. The server was nice and I have heard that if you order from the menu instead of the buffet that it is better. Not sure if I will give this place a second chance or not.

One East Main

Fremont, 49412
Reviews:
Despite a less than favorable experience the first time we went to One East Main, we decided to bring our big group there another time hoping that we would have a better experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The decor is simple. There a few local artifacts on the walls which are interesting. The first time we were there the restaurant was empty. The second time the restaurant was fairly busy. We found out fairly early that this place has what is probably the slowest service of any restaurant in Newaygo county. Getting coffee refills during breakfast was almost impossible. Eventually after smoke signals and a few strongly worded letters we were good to go. The only nice thing about this place was that they had cheap pitchers of beer. Drinking away the anger created by the terrible service made the experience a little better.
Food was good, nice beer selection. Onion rings are homemade and very tasty. Girlfriend had a grilled cheese and could have used a little more cheese. Steak fries could have been cooked a little longer ( we both like them light brown not just a light golden). Would return when we are back in the area. But also will try a few other local joints first.
Waitress very friendly. Oriental Salad good. Philly Steak sandwich was awful. (As in, hubby refused to eat it.) Very disappointed. Localized mugs and placemats are retro cool but the taste of the food does not match up to the hometown restaurants of yesteryear. There is an astro-turf type carpet that has a huge rip in the middle of the dining area. We should have seen this as the red flag it is. If the manager does not care about fixing this with some green duct tape...well...there you go.

Come on.... When there's a concert with a couple thousand people about 5 min away, and it's 88 degrees out, you should be more prepared and strategic with your operations. Slow service and not enough staff.
