Still can't tell you how good the bagels are. Today we are here for lunch. The new space is bigger then the last. Great local photography. Friendly staff. The owner remembers my family each year we come in, can't bel eat that.

The kids make the sandwiches with their bare hands, so that's a little unnerving when you stop to think about it. The sanwiches are decent, not bad, not great, but decent. The prices are very reasonable. But GOD DAMN is it hot in there during the summer. There's no AC and the fans are too slow to be effective. It's unbearable to eat in. Overall, I'd say only go as a last resort, AKA if The Crescent Bakery has a line out the door.

(Disclaimer - this review is from a visit back on 7/31/13) Stopped in for a bagel and some coffee on my way out of town and was very happy--chewy bagels and veggie cream cheese with actual veggies! I'll have to try a sandwich the next time I'm in town--the menu looked great!

Great sandwiches though I have only tried vegetarian options so can't speak to meat choices. Best bagels in northern Michigan by far. However, scones are disappointing - heavy baking powder taste, dry, and not rich like a scone should be. Stick with bagels, L'Chayim....

Husband and I stopped for lunch on our way back from Sleeping Bear Dunes. We were in the mood for some corned beef, so we chose L'chayim over the Frankfort Deli. It was adequate, but nothing to rave about. We split a reuben and an oy'vai. The reuben was legit the first one I've ever had where the sandwich was not grilled... meaning the sauerkraut made the sammy pretty soggy. The meat was ok, but not really discernable as corned beef. I may be spoiled by the abundance of delicious corned beef in my area, but I have to agree with Dina B. that the meat here isn't super. The oy'vai was a little better, thanks to the addition of pastrami and pepperjack. Both sandwiches were pretty large, but overall not anything I'd ever crave. Prices were a little high, IMO-- $21 for 2 sandwiches, one bag of chips, one cookie and 2 drinks. I know tourists are their livelihood, but if you're going to be the only Jewish game in town, at least step up your meat selection to Vienna or Boar's Head!

My boyfriend and I ordered two bagel sandwiches. He got pastrami and corn beef and I got the vegetarian Jerusalem. My bagel was good but they forgot the cream cheese. My bf said the meat was tender and he liked his sandwich. The bad, the high school kids working weren't wearing gloves and handling the meat with their bare hands. And in between slicing the meats one of them was eating the leftover pieces from the meat slicer. Kinda gross. And the owner was right there. I wouldn't go there again...

The service is absolutely terrible, even though the restaurant was empty when we walked in we were not greeted. We all had different things and only 1 person liked their food. I had a bagel with one slice of old Lox that was hard on the ends. I wouldn't recommend this place with all the other amazing places around. My suggestion is go wait in line somewhere else.

Decent but noting to write home about.

I am sorry but if all of your meats taste like processed bologna, then you shouldn't call yourself a deli, let alone tarnish the reputation of the Jewish Deli. My only guess is that the goyim of Frankfort wouldn't know a corned beef if it potzchked them in the bubkis. So they get away with it!! Shameful.

Best carrot cupcake ever! The new location is great, bright and spacious. I was impressed at the number of organic options they had. Not as impressive was my plain bagel. It was stale. Sandwiches were okay.
