I was passing by and having seen this café a few times before I was compelled to stop in a see what they had to offer. At first glance this place looks more like an office building than a storefront for a bakery café but don't judge it on exterior looks alone. When I walked in it was pretty empty and I was greeted by at least a few employees, there were samples to try, a wall of bread, display cases of refrigerated sweet treats and deli meats, and a second display of baked goods. I shot a few pics for you guys. I ordered some of their chicken noodle soup, their Classic Club sandwich and a loaf of their double rye bread to take home. The soup was like my moms! Chunky veggies and fresh shredded chicken in a hearty broth. It was thick like a stew, the noodles were overdone and it could've used a more seasoning and spices but it tasted like a really healthy comforting soup and it made me feel good inside. The club I ordered isn't what they packed up and sent me away with...instead they had made me their Tasty Italian on baguette with Swiss and all the trimmings. It wasn't what I ordered but it was fantastic nonetheless. I'd order it again for sure but I was bummed that they botched the order...since the club sounded so good. The double rye was a little on the dry side but sliced and toasted it was really great. It wasn't a traditional type rye having been made in a loaf pan but it was dense and had a nice crumb and flavor to it. I think this location is new as there were reviews for another address nearby but overall I liked this place. I'm not sure about the baked goods so I'll be back to update but the soup and sandwich were pretty righteous. All that said the wait for what I ordered was long and then to have them make the wrong sandwich was a happy mistake so I'll be back for the club but this place is worth a try.

Good food, great service and awesome atmosphere. We stumbled upon this place and we will be back! Next time I am going to indulge in some of their desserts!

This place is great! Have been here multiple times - between my fiance and I, we've tried different sandwiches, soup, mac & cheese, desserts and everything has been delicious! The service is awesome - the family that owns/runs the place is SO nice!

Great service and the food is really good too! We love the gormet sandwiches, made with fresh bread and high quality meats and produce.

Downtown Farmington's "food-scene" is well...face it SAD! I wanted to love this place and bring in the new and exciting. I live close so I'm not only want good food but I want it close to home. It was a good amount of time before they opened the bakery/cafe. It seemed like the place had a sign up and was under construction for quite a while. This I thought was because this place was doing it right, finally a place to eat in downtown Farmington. Got to be honest, I've been here several times. The wife and I visited a couple days after the "grand" opening, and again a week later. We have also stopped in for some baked goods, bread and the like. Yet to be impressed, and hoping it will get better. I want this place to be great, not ok, so bad? I have an open mind when trying a new place, always looking for something new and exciting. I love food and appreciate the hustle. It's hard to be very good/great in the food business without hard work and talent at the top of your list!!! The build out is very nice. It's modern sheik, with a touch of traditional. It flows a little odd with the two different entrances! The food displays are nice and full of bread and sweets, all to entice you! The space is open and very communal in feel. So they look legit as if it's going to be great? So all that leads me to the food and baked goods. The menu sign is so hard to read, refer to the written menu. The first visit the wife and I checked out the place and from the looks we had to try the bread, it looked very good. Well it was very average, we got the baguette and sourdough. Both were a touch dry and didn't have any distinct flavor that would set it apart. I guess it was ok... The second visit I convinced my wife to try a sandwich. The first issue I have is that the sandwich selection has very little creativity and is just like any other generic sandwich shop around town, example, Dagwoods. I ordered the Reuben and that was a mistake, not only was the sandwich over priced it under delivered. The corned beef was not sliced correctly, it was sliced with the grain of the meat not against? Not that I was expecting some kind of Stage Deli sandwich, but, with that hard to read sandwich board thought it was going to be a sandwich place? Stupid me, the wife had a Jerk chicken sandwich, it was bland and did not deliver. This restaurant/deli/cafe/bakery, looks the part, but is an imposter. If average is what your looking for this is your place. So sad that average works for most people when it comes to food. This place might do good in spite of just being blah...

Wonderful little bakery/cafe in downtown Farmington! The staff is WONDERFUL, the coffee drinks are tasty, and the desserts are delicious. They have all sorts of cupcakes, cheesecakes, cookies, cakes, cannolis, macarons, etc. Plus a variety of bread and meal items (sandwiches, soups...). I will be back!

Grand Bakery & Cafe is the best! I come here for the comfortable atmosphere while studying. All the baked goods are delicious and made fresh every day, and the family that owns the place is so sweet! (Way better than a giant chain like Starbucks.) Lots of options including breakfast & lunch, and the bakery has everything from fresh bread to cookies, muffins, cakes & pies. A perfect place for a meeting over coffee, to spend the day studying, or to enjoy the company of friends & family.

I have been to this bakery about seven times now, either for breakfast or lunch. On every single occasion the service was friendly and the food was wonderful. The prices are not unreasonable for the quality of the food. The service is not speedy but it is efficient. Remember folks: this is NOT a Tim Horton's; if that's what you want--cheap, fast, tasteless, and processed--than satisfy those expectations elsewhere. This is a true local, mom-and-pop eatery that delivers real value in terms of price, quality, and selection. Even the coffee's good! The wi-fi has worked every time I've visited, and in terms of elbow room and a genuinely amiable and comfortable decor, it's a great place to hang out. Grand Bakery serves real food with a genuine smile at a fair price--I'm not sure what else you could ask for in a local eatery.

NOT A FOOD REVIEW... My DH and I stopped here for breakfast today and just couldn't bring ourselves to pay such high prices for eggs and toast. Breakfast casserole quiche thing $10?? Two eggs, 2 pc meat and bread $9?? The baked goods looked delicious, so I might stop back to try some of those, but this place will not get my business for breakfast.

Very nice addition to downtown farmington! We walked our dog up for Sunday breakfast. The food was great and the coffee also very good. Staff was friendly. Inside is well designed and clean. The bathroom needs to be checked more often it was not dirty but needed to be picked up.

Let's start by saying the women that took my order was the sweetest. She was filled with positive energy and made me feel very welcomed. As for the bakery it's self and decor, the place is very welcoming and the sweets on the display case look very appetizing it made it hard to choose! However for the quality of the sweets, they were very delicious and as for someone who has a thing for sweets, it's satisfied me very much. Always gonna come around

Stopped in for bagels and we ended up ordering breakfast and glad we did. I got the Belgian waffle with came with 2 eggs and four slices of applewood bacon for under $7. Can't beat that price and was super tasty. Everyone else got French toast and pancakes all tasty and great portion for low price. Will have to check out again for sure. Smelled amazing inside with the breads cooking.

Amazing food and customer service! I've been in several times to grab breakfast (the bagel sandwiches are amazing!) as well as had catering provided for myself and my bridal party while we were getting ready the day of my wedding. Everything was delivered on time, hot and was delicious. HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a great breakfast/lunch : )

A cute neighborhood hangout for everyone! Seating is ample, with plenty of booths, lots of tables, and a scattering of comfy chairs. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind. The decor is a little sparse, but it used to be a dry cleaning place, so there's not much to do about that. Also, they have the Food Network playing rather quietly on a single TV, which is oddly helpful for atmosphere and concentration. The sweets are heavenly. They have tons of fresh-baked goodies, ranging from healthy snacks to decadent pastries. The sandwiches are very good, made with fresh Boar's Head lunchmeat. The blended drinks are made with frozen yogurt and have a much deeper flavor than your average coffee chain. The portions for both drinks and food are great, too--I've never felt like I haven't gotten enough for my money. They don't have iced tea on hand, but the fresh-brewed iced cups suffice nicely. There aren't enough outlets for my taste, but this could be easily remedied with the purchase of a few extension cords.
