The "midnight snack" is a monster, so big and tasty. Love the turkey Reuben but today was craving Tuna so went with the Tuna Pita. Tasted amazing and loved all the sprouts and cucumber in it. Great local Deli and amazing sandwiches.

Had read really good things about Dagwood's and was excited to try it. The restaurant is small, but the menu is HUGE. They have sandwiches with about any type of meat/cheese/vegetable and dressing you can imagine (and some interesting ones you may not be familiar with). I ended up ordering the smoked croissant sandwich.. It had an ample amount of turkey, gouda, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a croissant. It came with mushrooms, but I asked that they leave those off. While the sandwich was huge and the ingredients were fresh, I thought it was ok. Nothing special. In addition to sandwiches they also had plenty of soups, desserts and beverage choices. The staff were very nice and I got my sandwich, quickly. Location is nice.. In a strip mall with plenty of other shops and parking. It's a great place to eat before or after the Farmington Farmers Market. I would come back again and try other things on the menu. It's worth a visit.

I was very overwhelmed by the vast number of choices and combinations that were available on the menu when I walked in! The Pastrami Heaven caught my eye because they used a chive cream cheese spread with pastrami - a combination I've never experienced before! The sandwich was perfectly toasted and there was plenty of delicious meat. I am glad I came in to try this place and will be back to see what the other combinations taste like. The staff was very friendly and patient with me while I took some time to make my choice! There are salads, pitas, and speciality sandwiches along with soup and normal deli sides. Glad to have found this place and that the service was super quick!

Every sandwich is made to order. All the meats are cut when sandwich is ordered. Can be grilled or straight up. The selection is almost over whelming as they are all amazing. Fresh soups made daily.

First service was awful during our visit not welcoming at all just took your order not very informative about menu no smile or nothing and to top it off food was not that great I could have done that at home.

I'm sure they have great sandwiches so I'm going to give them four stars. Unfortunately, I can only eat poached eggs on this whole 30 plan. I should've known that the word deli meant sandwiches. They do make breakfast sandwiches or fried eggs but I'm afraid it doesn't work for me this morning. I'll be back in 30 days to try what I'm sure is a great sandwich!

I stopped by this place because I starving while trucking up Grand River. I ordered a rueben sandwich. I watched as they grilled the bread on a panini press, warmed up the corned beef, sauerkraut and swiss cheese in a MICROWAVE, and assembled the sandwich. Are you effing kidding me? A microwave? And, for the price charged ($8), I expect more than 1/4 inch of corned beef, which didn't even cover the bread. Seriously, I had nearly an inch of sauerkraut compared to my scant amount of meat. Not cool.

I've only tried one sandwich here but that's ok because it's AWESOME! I always get it... It's the Girl Talk Sandwich [#23]. It's ham,Swiss, pineapple, and honey butter on grilled cinnamon bread. AMAZING perfect mix of sweet and salty the bread makes it 100x better and it's grilled to perfection. They have coupons floating around that don't expire so I always grab a few when I'm in there. I haven't tried anything else but my husband loves any of the Reuben sandwiches.

Great gluten free breads, quality meat, delicious sandwiches. Love coming here. You do have to sort of babysit some of the staff members if you have to order gluten free. The one girl is super knowledgable & is awesome, but others seemed pretty clueless. Still, such a great sandwich! Sort of pricy.

Dagwood's was a place that a friend introduced me to, and if you are looking for some of the tastiest sandwiches ever, with a huge variety of breads, toppings, meats, cheeses, and whatever else you could think about putting on a sandwich... this would be your place. I believe they are up to just about 90 common sandwiches and some kick ass soups that makes Jimmy Johns seems like they are a bunch of pre-schoolers. Only downside to it is the small location. They have room for maybe 20 people, but once it gets over crowded with people waiting for their food... it gets rather crowded. They the "He's Late Again" and the chicken noodle soup! You on't be disappointed!!!!!!

I'm going to have to agree with Chris L. here. For what I paid ($8 and change), the sandwich I got was pretty scrawny and mostly bread. The service was friendly and fast but this is more of a sandwich shoppe than it is a deli. I ordered the #7, grilled corned beef with Swiss melted over it and slaw between marbled sourdough (rye?) and a house sauce. First off, the meat was nice and lean but there was not enough to satisfy. For those prices the sandwich should really be stacked. I know their competition is. The slaw was pretty good and I liked the melted swiss and griddled meat but should've asked for the bread griddled too. Since each slice of bread was 1/2"-5/8" thick, I think had I asked for it toasted the added texture may have pulled out another star here. This isn't the first time I've had Dagwood's but I haven't been there for a long while and I think I remember why now. I was really hoping that this could be a new go-to spot and I really wanted to like this place but I just can't get down with it.

There's no way I'd have discovered Dagwood's Deli on my own, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. We only ended up there because I was told I should visit Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum while in town, and someone kindly offered to drive me from where I was staying in Dearborn all the way over to Farmington, where she grew up. And since we we'd need to have lunch, she suggested her hometown favorite. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I figured it would be your typical sandwich shop, but when I got a look at the menu, I could see they'd assembled some pretty creative choices. However, as much as I was tempted by the Girl Talk (Ham, Swiss cheese, Pineapple and Honey Butter on Grilled Cinnamon Bread) and the The Promotion (Smoked Turkey, Cream Cheese, Colby Cheese, Onion, Tomato, Lettuce and Guacamole on Pumpernickel), I felt I had to order their signature sandwich -- Dagwood's Midnight Snack, which got top billing on the menu and was a 2-pound monster of a sandwich made with Roast Beef, Ham, Turkey, Colby Cheese, Swiss cheese, Tomato, Lettuce and Special Sauce on 4 slices of Marble Bread. The cold cuts were quality, but what was additionally welcome (as well as surprising) was how good the bread was. Often, the bread at sandwich shops lacks intestinal fortitude, and falls apart when loaded up with ingredients, especially the condiments. But the Marble held up and had some personality, with a good flavor and crust. I didn't finish the whole thing, but that wasn't because I didn't want to. It was just too much for any one person. (Well, too much for _this_ one person.) So we asked for a to-go box and my friend got the chance to make another meal of it. The sandwich was $11.50, but we definitely got what we paid for. Dagwood's Deli was my final meal in Michigan, and a pleasant way to end my trip.

I've been coming here for at least 10 years. Easily my favorite deli and I wouldn't go anywhere else if I was in the area. The menu is by number - a long list of specific sandwiches. You can also have something made to your own configuration. If I take someone there for the first time, I always recommend the #13. My other favorites are the #9 (grilled), #16, #4 and #5. A coworker of mine loves that they have several pastrami sandwiches, because that's his thing. Pricing will put you at around $10 for a sandwich, drink and bag of chips. Higher than the national chain two doors down, but that place is empty and Dagwood's is bustling. I'm not alone in being willing to pay a little more for high quality. You can take kids there - kids are certainly welcome. However there is no specific kid menu - so depends on the kid if they like deli sandwiches. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside on the sidewalk where they have a handful of tables. Go on Tuesday for double stamps on the punch card.

Get your tasty breakfast sandwich here. Most people think of Dagwoods for lunch, dinner or catering. And they are great at that. But they open at 7 am Monday thru Saturday. I go there whenever I'm back in town for a bagel, egg and cheese and they make it right there. They fry the eggs and grill the bagel, panini style. Very good. This is a Farmington business so it's great to support the locals like the owner, Jerry, especially when he and his staff make such an exceptional breakfast. Seriously, why settle for pre-packaged fast food in the morning when you can have hometown greatness to go!

The sandwiches here are just ok. They are way too expensive for how skimpy they are. The corned beef is like lunch meat and you only get a couple pieces. I would go somewhere else for the price they charge. I won't be back.

Cookie club on a onion roll was awesome. It was my first time and it was very difficult picking which sandwich, a lot of choices! I'll be back

Decided to try something new in the hood and decided on Dagwood's. I heard it was the go to place for sammiches. I chose the Veggiewood, it was piled high with Havarti Cheese, Lettuce, Black Olives, Carrots, Onions, Sprouts, Guacamole and Chive Cream Cheese on Marble Rye Bread. It was delicious! Tho for $7.50 it seemed a bit much. Tack on a few more bucks for chips and a drink = most expensive "non sit-down" lunch ever! Next time I probably wont eat in and just stick with the sammich.

Such a tasty treat! Friendly staff! Punch card...outdoor seating... Tons of sandwich choices. My fave is #3 Cookie's Club.

We have been going to Dagwood's for a number of years, and consider it a treat to get one of their sandwiches (try the Cookie's Club--one of their best). It does seem a tad pricey (which seems to be the only real concern noted in the poor reviews), but the sandwiches are always fresh and quite tasty. Save a buck or two and go to Subway, or spend it and get great, local food.

Walking in, this place definitely did not have a deli vibe. It felt sort of like a food-court fast-food, and there were no old crusty deli workers. But the sandwiches were quite tasty. I had a veggie wrap sort of thing, and my friend had a corned beef. And the pickles are top of the line. Everything seemed very fresh, and there are a ton of sandwiches to select from. On a warm spring day, it is very pleasant to sit at a table on the sidewalk and eat a big sandwich. The restaurant is next to a Coldstone and a Starbucks, and it is an area conducive to walking around (maybe walking off your sandwiche(s). I'd return.

I frequent Dagwoods Deli and I was SHOCKED to learn that the tips that a customer puts into the large jar titled "TIPS" does not go to the employees. The tips are not divided up up at the end of the day for those working. Ask the owner, Mr. Burger and he will confirm this. As I customer, I feel taken advantage of. If Mr. Burger needs more money for his operation, he should find a way that doesn't deceive customers. Let the employees share in the tips that the customers think they are leaving for them! Shameful!

In the same vein of Detroit Mexicanâ„¢ and Detroit Asianâ„¢ this is Detroit Deliâ„¢. Sandwiches are way way too pricey for what you get. Soups and slaw are horrible and bland. As was mentioned by another reviewer nuked corn beef out of packages...come on! I hadn't been in ages mostly because I remember never really being satisfied or happy with the value of what you get here. Recent trip proves much the same as I forked over a pile of cash and was pretty much wishing I hadn't and planning my next meal right after eating.

The goods:Amazing variety of menu items, friendly and fast service, quality of breads and meats are second to none, I recommend the "Mr. Beasley", possibly my favorite sandwich of all time, a staple of downtown Farmington, has been there for years, even survived a fire and rebuild The bads:Portions are on the small side for the price, if you are used to massive mounds of meat on your sandwich such as The Bread Basket or Wheat n Rye then you might be slightly disappointed, but the taste and quality makes up for the smaller portions The verdict:I have probably made more than 50 visits to Dagwood's over the years and I will never stop going. This is one of our local jems, and I hope they are there forever.

This may not be the most accurate review, but I still dream of the humongous Dagwood sandwich of my youth. We'd listen to Huey Lewis and the Go-Gos on the radio while they made it, and then laugh at each other trying to bite into it. Oh, and that creamy mustard sauce. Maybe having a 25+ year sandwich tradition should count for something.

We have been eating at Dagwood's Deli for probably 10 years now and I can honestly say we have never had a bad sandwich here. I usually get the "Herb" or the "Dagwood" and my wife likes the "Blondie". It is true that they are a bit pricey but the sandwiches are plenty to make a meal out of. We only go here for sandwiches though, so we have never tried any of their other offerings. Give them a try if you like a good deli sandwich.

We, visitors, were looking for a local joint. Dagwood's cannot be any more local. They have over 30 different sandwiches to choose from and for those who are picky, they can create their own. Your brain might explode from all the choices, but don't let that happen, until you taste one of their signature sandwiches. Of all the deliciousness, we ordered a Pastrami Sandwich, the #20. It was much more than an ordinary deli Pastrami Sandwich. The warm, freshly sliced pastrami was sandwiched between two lightly grilled pumpernickel slices, smeared with chive cream cheese and topped with crisp romaine lettuce. As sandwiches always should, ours came with a pickle spear. Within walking distance, there was a Starbucks, Panera, Subway and Quizno's, but Dagwood had the real sandwich we were craving. The sandwich did not feel like a grease bomb like Panera's or Quizno's. Unlike its competition, Dagwood slices their meats fresh. Once you have a taste, there's no mistaken that they actually use the meats in their deli case. Those meats in the case are not only for show. You locals are so lucky.

Excellent sandwiches! The creativity here is outstanding. For a deli, the menu is fun to read. They actually have a sandwich worthy of being called a 'Dagwood' a 2 lb. sandwich stacked high to the ceiling (well close to it). I tried the Girl Talk sandwich. Sliced ham, swiss cheese, pineapple slice and honey butter all grilled to a golden brown in between two slices of cinnamon bread. Yum...and yum. I could not have dreamed up this combo on my own -- it makes your taste buds tingle. Something about having freshly sliced meat to order makes this deli an immediate favorite. They also make a mean potato salad in house.

Great sandwich place. I have had many different sandwichs but my favorite IS the Dagwood. I never finish it all. Take home and enjoy it a second time. Fresh bread, fresh meat, every time I go. The pickles are a good compliment with the sandwich. The restaurant is always clean and you can sit in and relax. Afterward, walk down to Starbucks and sit out sit outside sipping a coffee and enjoy the downtown Farminton relaxing atmosphere.

Stick with the sandwiches. I've been a long time diner of this great little deli in downtown Farmington, but my opinion changed just today when I ordered a bowl of chicken chili, and was surprised to see processed, rubbery chicken in the soup. It was almost of a sausage consistency. And it was $4.40 for a cup! Now, I would think a deli would be proud to make their own soups, but this was not what I had expected from Dagwoods. I threw it out after one bite and decided that my can of Progresso soup in my office drawer would have been a better lunch choice. Sorry Dagwoods, you disappointed a longtime customer.

Great deli! Had them cater my "move in" lunch and everyone in my family lived it. My 12 yr old nephew loved the Cole slaw, I have gone back several times now that it is a local place for me.

Wayyyyy too expensive for what you get. The size of the sandwiches are sadly smalll and you don't even get a side. Expect to pay $8-$10 for bascially nothing. Drive 1 mile west to Paneras for a much better deal.

I love this place. I always get the #22, the Promotion. It is a turkey sandwich with cream cheese, colby cheese, guacamole, onion, lettuce, tomato all on fresh pumpernickel bread. The bread is always super fresh. At most places I like to try something new each time I go, but I can't seem to tear myself away from this sandwich, In my humble opinion, they should rename it after me. Their potato salad is acceptable and my lunch partners rave about the italian wedding soup. They are also one of few places that serve ice cold ICB root beer.
