Graf’s Pastry

Graf's is a unique pastry shop in a tucked away strip mall in Farmington Hills. It is a German "konditorei" or patisserie that specializes in fresh and seasonal sweet baked goods. They are even familiar with the less common Austrian style treats my family adores. When I asked about ordering a plum dadji baked good, the lady told me that I would have to wait until August for the European style plums to come into season, but that I might like a currant or rhubarb tart that contained fruit right out of the owner's garden. Needless to say, I was intrigued and brought home both tangy tarts for my family to enjoy. I have also tried their raspberry and peach cakes, as well as their lovely fruit tarts. All had excellent flavor and freshness, but my only complaint is that the refrigerated case must have been too cold when I bought them because the raspberry cake was frozen solid! Prices are fair, the goods are authentic and everything is fresh and yummy. I will definitely rely on Graf's for future Father's Day and birthday treats for my dad who has a special affinity for Austrian food and sweets.
I found out about this place when I tried a dessert (Biehnenstich?) at a German picnic I went to. Found out this place wasn't too far from me, so my wife and I stopped in on our way home from work. We ordered two things -- a cookie and a little pastry dessert for our little daughter. Cookie was stale, and pastry cake was getting firm on the outside, so also several days old. I was rather disappointed in their selection and quality, especially when expecting so much after the dessert I had tried previously to coming here. On top of this, they say they don't make that Biehnenstich unless you call in a special order. The store just felt like a run-down place that was trying to keep pace even though it's been dying for the past 10-20 years. Would I eat their Biehnenstich again? Of course. Would I come back here to try something else? No.
I would give Graf Pastry 100 stars if I can !! These guys are simply fabulous and I have tried all their flavors. I have been going to the Graf Pastry for the last 5 years and I absolutely love this place. Their forte - the sweet content in each of their pastry type, in cookies and in their cake is so accurate that it is neither too sweet nor too bland. My favourite is the Peach pastry which I guess is seasonal. I have always ordered birthday cakes and other occasion cakes from here and have had guests raving about it. My favourite is the Strawberry cake and even the Rum cake is outstanding. I highly recommend Graf Pastry to all the sweet lovers, and if you are not a sweet lover, have a trip to Graf Pastry and you will become one.

We have been eating the pizza here for nearly 4 years and keep going back. It's close, convenient, and delicious. Our favorite is the Hawaiian, but we've also ordered the veggie pizza and the breadsticks on occasion - equally as good. We had a fairly largge get-together recently and decided to try their catering menu. We looked online at their website and decided what to order, then called and talked to Nathan about our food choices, options, and the amount of people we were expecting. He was very helpful and told us when we'd need to have our final food choices and order in to have it guaranteed by our designated pick-up time. The day we came to pick up the food we were very impressed. The trays were beautifully presented and everything looked fresh and delicious! We ordered a deli tray (meats and cheese with a loaf of bread to make sandwiches), a fresh fruit tray, and a fresh veggie tray. We also ordered 100 wing dings with a variety of dipping sauces. The food was just enough for our gathering. We didn't run out, and we didn't have a ton of leftovers. I would highly recommend them - we were very impressed!
Really excellent food here. Their pizza is delicious. Their broasted chicken and fried shrimp are always flavorful, moist on the inside and crunchy outside. Their salads are always fresh, cold and crisp with just the right amount of toppings and dressings. Try the Bella Vita sub - best sandwich in the area. The employees have always been kind and friendly. We love to support local businesses when they provide such good service and food. Thanks!
Have gotten pizza from here three times, and it's been consistently good! I got the Baby Round Pizza (8 inch, individual size) twice, once with pepperoni and mushrooms and the second time with pepperoni. I also got the Bella Vita pizza once with olive oil. All of the pizzas were hot and delicious! I'll be back!

I actually like how small this place is. My first time there I got seated right away on a Friday evening, though I can see how it would get busy enough to cause a wait. I'm sure it's worth it regardless. I ordered the vegetarian ghallaba sandwich and the husb ordered the meat schwarma, all which included the delicious bread and garlic. And as always, baklava!
Very similar to the other La Marsa I've been to while visiting the greater Detroit area. Unique and tasty garlic paste. The bread was good and falafel sandwiches were nice. The smoothie I had well... tasted like most other smoothies. Kind of expensive for what it was... Good place, overall. Oh, this location is a LOT smaller than the other one.
I love the lunch specials here. This is my second time and the food is excellent. We've tried the lentil and chicken vegetable soup, garlic paste, pita bread (so fresh and hot!!!), Fattoush salad with chicken, chicken shawarma sandwiches, etc. It's all very good. The place is small and gets busy around lunchtime so be aware of that if you're short on time. The parking lot is little too.

Fantastic! So friendly and everyone is delighted to share the menu with you! They have a friendly atmosphere and a great variety of selections. I went with tradition and got the coney dog with mustard, chili, and onions - it was amazing! I will be back!! Keep up the good work :)
One word AWESOME. I had the bacon double cheeseburger it was huge and tasted very good. I also got a side of fries and they were good and you got a lot of them. Wife had onion rings and grilled ham and cheese. I tried some onion rings and they were pretty good. $20.00 for the two of us. Will definitely be back. Oh yea after eating there I was Thanksgiving over full.
Very poor quality No one is watching the quality The food was not edible. Don't stop at this establishment

Mitzi’s Carry Out

Reviews:
I rated five star, not because it's a five star restaurant, but because it is by far the best deal for Chinese food in Farmington Hills. Lucky for us, and Mitzy, our favorite local thai restaurant is closed Sunday's and we really wanted some lo mein. So we yelped around and found this hidden gem. I spent $34 and we got 2 entrees, 3 apps, some fried rice and wonton soup. I have about 2 meals left for me and the kids on that order. The soup was under $2 and it was enough to go around the whole family. (Most Chinese places you get one, maybe two wontons in the soup. This one had 5) The quality of food at that price point is no where else to be found around here. Must try!
Everything that a good take-out place should be: food is good, quick whether you call ahead or drop by to order, gets the order right, good pricing, and friendly. The boyfriend and I usually get an order of Chicken Fried Rice, no veggies because he hates em, with a small order of Broccoli on the side, because I love veggies. This brings our total to just over $10 for a yummy dinner for two
Chinese carry out only. Great food. Been eating here for almost 20 years. On the rare occasion, that we have Chinese from another restaurant, we are quickly reminded why Mitzi's is our favorite - great price, quantity and quality. The large tray of sweet and sour chicken is great as a party appetizer.

I had to follow up with a review, because the staff really went above and beyond for my family. We did the all-you-can eat deal for the soup kitchen that held a charity event at Buddy's. We were promptly seated and waited on. We ordered a couple pizzas, a salad and a couple beverages. about 10 minutes into the meal, the kids were getting restless, with one starting to not feel good. (He had been battling a cold the day before, it wasn't anything he ate from there) So we asked if we could box the pizza we had and take the check. The waiter said that we weren't supposed to take anything to-go due to the 'dine-in' only stipulations on the all-you-can-eat. (Completely understand; it is what it is I guess) So we just asked for the balance of our bill from the drinks and were going to leave. Then the waiter comes back with boxes and said he talked to a manager about our situation, who showed compassion for our situation. It is experiences like this that make me so greatful for Yelp. A small gesture meant a lot to my Wife and I in that moment, and the world needs to know it. Ya it was just 6 slices of pizza, but you can't predict what kids are going to do, and we would have had to come up with a second dinner plan that night once we were home. Thank you staff of Buddy's!!
Buddy's has a great lunch menu and lots of variety. I like that this location has the carry out area, it makes it easier when picking up a larger order for the work crew. I've never dined in, but they do get busy. Service is great on the carry out side and we don't ever have issues with the really annoying stuff like dressing and such. Everything we've tried has been good- burgers, sandwiches, pizza, pasta, salads.. Of course the pizza is a must try. Enjoy!
Full Disclosure: I have not been to the original location in Detroit. Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let me say that I have been here twice now, and have enjoyed the food immensely. The first time I came here, I had their small Margherita (4 square). My colleague and I shared it, and we each just had one square, and I was beyond full! She highly recommended their minestrone soup, of which I am so glad I tried because it is RIDICULOUSLY good. All the minestrone soups that I've had have always been more brothy, but Buddy's is a thicker variety; almost like a stew but not that thick. I like the small ditalini pasta that they've incorporated in with it, and it's not mushy at all. Mushy pasta is not a favorite of mine. :) Unlike Detroit-style pizza elsewhere, Buddy's crust is really special. It's not greasy, but not super dense either. It's not health food obviously, but it's crust has just enough crisp while retaining the bounce in towards the center. Flavor isn't overwhelmingly buttery, and the ratio to cheese and toppings is balanced. I've also had their steak hoagie, and if you're feeling hungry, 1 person can easily finish it. My colleague and I shared it, and it was just the right amount when paired with fries. I'd say the size of it is close to 8". Priced at $8.99, I thought the portion was fair, but the flavor was really good, especially if you're a fan of caramelized onions. Service both times were fine, but nothing magical. Both times that I've come have been during the week and after the lunch rush (around 1pm), and it's pleasantly peaceful and relaxing. :) Overall, I'll continue to come back from time to time to get my fill of Detroit-style pizza, but what I REALLY like is that minestrone soup. You must try that if you haven't already. :)

Very good pizza. A different taste of the crust it's thin but chewy. The brick oven gives it a very nice taste.
This is the first place yelpers have sent me to where I have honestly felt like people on here were f-ing with me. Seriously a five star? For this? We got there at around 6:30 on a Monday for their only nighttime buffet. The place was a ghost town. It was us and one family of parents, grandparents and obligatory unruly small child no one could control. We picked a seat and a few minutes later a *waitress* moseyed in and asked us what we wanted to drink. Drinks were plopped on the table without a word and there we were left. No music, no TVs. Nada. You feel like your voice echoes... The salad bar was tastier than it looked. Odd to have no Italian dressing at a pizza place but I prefer balsamic at any rate so I was happy. Ok start, not jumping through hoops but decent. Then came the pizza. They had precooked about 12-15 pies, all were pretty stone cold, cardboard-y. We took our bites and almost started to laugh. "What is the rating here again" my husband inquired. I mean it was bad, so freaking bad, worse than Cicis. We were starved though and I told my husband that he could request something. He did but it took a minute to actually ever get anything. At some point I said something about maybe getting a margarita pizza made to our waitress who was strolling by. She pointed at the warmer and said there is one. I said ummm its not hot, its really old. She shrugged and said something about it being dead in there and so that was what was there. Ok I get that. I am a paying customer though and it is not my fault your restaurant made 15 pizzas a long time ago that no one ate. I should not have to settle for them. I think I was overheard because a couple minutes later she was sullenly taking the old pizzas off the tables and suddenly new pizzas started to slowly make their way to replace them. I should not have had to say anything. If I hadn't they would have just had us eat crap. The hot stuff we had at the very end was promising, not 5 star by any stretch but solidly pretty good pizza. It was too late for me, I was just kinda disgusted by the general attitude and lack of care here. It was sad. I wasted money in gas and got shit. I guess you need to come here at peak hours or or be prepared to accept cold old pizza, no pasta anywhere to be seen and dried out disgusting desserts.... Oh and James wanted me to add his requested pizza actually emerged pretty black, not just on the edges, it was just burnt.
Love the pizza and garlic bread here. I always get the Naples sampler with the spicy pepperoni on in.... The thin crust is perfect for my liking and I have to say that the garlic bread is my favorite. If your a garlic lover like I am this is definitely sometime you have to try. I've never had a bad experience here.

They're fast. Accurate. Cheap. Take credit card for even a single cone. And have 3 benches you can sit on inside against the wall. Couldn't really ask for much more from a DQ. Oh, I don't know about DQ in general as the ones I've been to have been outdoor stally type places, but this one has a bunch of cakes and promotions on them often. I appreciate it.
This DQ is great! The employees are very nice and quick to serve. The facility is clean and doesn't get as busy as other local DQ's. I usually get the small hot fudge sundae with just fudge. It satisfies my sweet tooth without a ton of calories (300).
What an awesome experience. I walked in looking for a ice cream cake for my wife on her birthday. I was greeted by a young man named D'angelo. He explained all the flavors ,and what was the main ingredients of all the cakes he had on display. He then offered to make a cake with the flavors I wanted if I didn't see what I liked. I then ordered through him and he topped my cake with the toppings I wanted personally. Thank you and I will be back. Great service!
