OK, that was the best cheap breakfast I've ever had. Actually, that might have been the cheapest best breakfast I've ever had. Rosy's is the quintessential greasy spoon, but a real one, not a faux diner. I had the garbage omlette, which is everything -- ham, homemade sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, everything. And it was big enough to keep me going for the rest of the day. My son had scrambled eggs and homemade sausage, plus biscuits and homemade sausage gravy. Are you hearing about the homemade sausage? That's because it's really, really good. And then there's Rosy, who is quite a lady. She doesn't hold back any opinions. Get there early enough to listen to her banter with the locals. That's almost as good as the food!

Fun place, Rosy is just great - friendly, talkative and funny. The food was totally comfort food breakfast - well cooked and tasty and served quickly. Definitely would go there often if I lived in the area.

Total and Complete Gem!!! Serving food with Love!! Came in hungry and left stuffed to the rim. From the eggs, to the hash all things are perfect and as they should be. The coffee is hot and the eggs are fresh. Highly recommend that all those who find themselves in the area head on over to Rosys' Diner; you will not be disappointed. The homemade Corn Beef Hash is out this world.

Came across Rosie's during a bike tour through the U.P. Charmed instantaneously by the hot coffee, massive omlettes and spiced gravy and biscuits. Rosie and Tekla are bonafide Texans, and there's no one better to run the place. Never without a story, hilariously sassy and talkative, making conversation that woke me up quicker than thassive mugs steaming free refills. Epitomizes the ideal American diner... Eat your breakfast here if you find yourself in Escanaba.

Visited Rosy's when we were in UP for a wedding. What a find! Rosy is a riot - slinging pancakes and bacon on her griddle - her and her daughter run around taking orders, delivery equal parts food and sassy comebacks. Be sure to visit this charming, classic diner if you're visitng Escanaba or the vicinity - between the scrumptious Biscuits & Gravy and plentiful belly laughs - you'll be glad you came.

Classic Diner. Breakfast all day with awesome food. Stop in sit at the counter what ever you order will be delicious. I had the club sandwich and chicken and dumpling soup. Real food at a real price.

If the term "greasy spoon" makes you turn up your nose, this isn't your kind of place. Everyone else, should you somehow find yourself in Escanaba for God-knows-why, you should definitely stop by. It's a mother/daughter tag team that works well. The place is tiny and you can tell that it's where the locals go (always a good sign). Breakfast was quick and delicious. The omelets are large and the croissant sandwiches are fantastic. I didn't love the coffee, though, but that's just me, Automatic deduction of a star for not taking credit cards. Sorry, I don't like to carry cash and if you're capable of having a Facebook page, you're capable of accepting a credit card.

Go to meet Rosy and have great food while you're there! Classic diner. Food like home. Casual atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Rosy is the owner, cook, waitress, et. Al. Delicious breakfast and fun conversation with Rosy and other patrons. Definitely recommended!

Looking for a good breakfast, and we found it here. Val had homemade biscuits and gravy and I had a breakfast with all the fixins. Owner was a great lady who made us feel at home. When we are back in the escanaba area we will surely stop back in.

We loved Rosy's so much we had breakfast there 2 days in a row of a 3 day trip to Escanaba. It is the archetype of what a small town greasy spoon / diner should be. The place was full of locals. It was impossible not to overhear town gossip and to be emerged in the warmth and friendship of the people who gather to share meals and companionship. The food was great, particularly the corned beef, which Rosy makes up fresh. There is nothing fancy here, but there was nothing we didn't thoroughly enjoy either. The best part is Rosy. She is a sweetie and a true blue character who tells it like it is. I swear, we will drive back up to Escanaba just for another breakfast at Rosy's, and to feel part of a magic you can never find in the big city. Truly, as good as it gets.

Best hamburgers we have had in a LONG TIME! Grilled just right. Buns were good too - and the tomato slices were FRESH and not too ripe or too green. Fries were excellent too. Reasonable prices. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Rosy was not there, which must make a big difference. The food was not "destination" worthy. Loved small town, older environment it brought though!

Cool little place; went for breakfast on a Sunday. Two huge pancakes and an egg were more than enough food for me...good coffee. too! The cinnamon roll was out of this world. We were greeted on entry and thanked on the way out. Servers very friendly and attentive. Stop at Rosy's sometime!

You can taste the years of love on the griddle! An all ameircan breakfast served with perfect midwest attitude. Rosy was the host, server, chef and pubah. Could not ask for a better way to start the day in the UP Coffee is on your table before you know you want it. The food has never seen a can and the preparation is near perfect. Rosy played all of her roles like someone who has been in the business for years and still loves it!

Awesome breakfast and atmosphere! This place was an awesome find for us - so much better than the chain breakfasts or other 'family' restaurants in the area. Real food, feels like being in Mom's kitchen. Bacon was thick and cooked to perfection, biscuits and gravy were amazing. Get there NOW! You won't be disappointed! Thanks for a flare at experience ladies!

Loved this place. Great diner food. Cooked and served by Rosy herself! She was funny, and the customers all knew her.

If you want a hometown feel, great attention, good food and fast service. Check out Rosie's Diner. She has a great personality and my husband and I both enjoyed listening to her interacting with the local customers. I love the original look of the diner. I had biscuits and gravy with eggs. The portion was plentiful and the coffee refills were never ending. Great gem of a diner with great personality.

No finer diner food anywhere ! You will NOT be disappointed!! Homemade corn beef hash, corn chowder and pancakes - all outstanding! Rosy's earthy delightful and colorful personality a bonus! Daughter Elizabeth is Rosy's excellent server who adds extra sparkle to your dining experience . This was our first visit and it won't be our last ! Enjoy your first vacation in 13 years Rosy! You deserve it!

The best for breakfast and lunch in Escanaba hands down. The food is made from scratch. The soups are exquisite!! The highlight is definitely the owner. She is full of personality and it feels like you've been welcomed into someone's home. I can't say enough positives.

Simply amazing! Food for the soul that is so simple, but so reasonably priced! We were very impressed with everything we had: beginning with the soup (stuffed pepper and chicken noodle), and then the rest, fried chicken, English muffin sandwich, and omelet. We loved the stuffed pepper soup so much that we ordered extra to take home. A great diner!

Great greasy spoon. Rosy runs the type of counter top diner that I wish still existed but has sadly become a diamond in the rough. She and her daughter are friendly and entertaining while you wait for your food, which will not be long. Coffee was good too.

Probably the best "greasy spoon" joints in all the U.P. good service, good portions, good food whenever I'm in the area I try to stop in for consistent and hearty meal as well as say hello to Rosy, one of the hardest working kind hearted people you'll ever meet as well as one of the toughest.

Stopped here for breakfast on a motorcycle trip around Lake Michigan with two friends. I ordered the corned beef hash, which is homemade, not out of a can like 98% of the other diners serve. Best hash I have ever had in my life. On top of the fantastic food and service, meeting Rosy was worth the trip in itself. One of my friends had the biscuits and gravy and the other had an omelet they both agreed best breakfast they ever had. stop on by if you're in da u.p. And don't forget to sign the guestbook.
