Escanaba has limited options. I decided to go here because of the great reviews. When it comes to great reviews in Escanaba, keep in mind, there is a limited selection so beware. To start, walking in, the place had a not so nice smell to it. Should have headed the warning. I ate the Thai shrimp since it was highly recommended by the server. What it really was, was grilled shrimp with no seasoning, covered in sweet and sour sauce with microwaved rice. I ate it. Because I was starving. But $21????? For that??? More like a $10 meal. It was horrible. The service was good. The bread was OK, and the salad ... Well how can you f*** up a salad? Oh, also, there was a hair in my food. Yummy. Avoid at all costs!!!

We had pasta dishes that were good, but not great. The bread and salad were beautifully fresh. Especially surprising to find fresh lettuce in late September in the UP. We would go again.

Great place for lunch with terrific salads. They always have a nice soup and sandwich special. Dinners are good but the Early Bird specials at $12.00 every weeknight before 7 come with salad and desert and is wonderful value. A very nice spot for a quiet business lunch or a romantic dinner. The Pub downstairs is a good place to enjoy a beer or four and the same food upstairs is available downstairs.

Pulled out all the stops for a funeral after-party. My cousins, aunts and uncles were in town in October for my grandfather's funeral. He was 88 years old and had a wonderful life (Jack Beck). The folks at Pacino's - and the hotel - helped us celebrate that great life late-night with great drinks, awesome service, yummy thin crust pizzas and other appetizers. They stayed open late for us and really helped us have a great time. Recommend this place.

I am in town from NYC every so often and the food is comparable to some of the great NYC restaurants I have been to, but with much friendlier service! Had the Jack Daniels Sirloin last night and the meat was perfectly cooked with a tangy, delicious sauce that complemented the beef perfectly. If you are anywhere near the area make sure to stop in for a meal that will not disappoint.

Good food, awful service! I travel for a living and go to many restaurants. My thoughts are "your food can be crap, but if you can sell it with a smile you've got me sold". Unfortunately I wasn't greeted when I walked in, after standing around and being passed by for a few minutes I asked to seat myself. After ordering my food it was "thrown" at me, never got checked back on, and never asked if I wanted a refill for my soda. Another waitress looked right at me and continued walking. So sad isn't customer service how waitress's make a living? I understand you're busy, but just because I didn't order a full 8 course meal doesn't mean you treat me any less of a customer. I finally stopped the other waitress (mine no where to be found) for a water & she looked at me as if I interrupted her. Disappointed at my first experience here. The food was great but I won't be back. The 3 stars are for the FOOD (and the food only!!!)

Myself and a coworker are downstairs at the pub portion of the restaurant. I ordered the Pachino salad and added chicken as well as a tap beer (a wheat ale). I'm not much of a wheat/dark beer drinker but that beer was delicious. It reminded me of a Hefeweizen beer. The salad was by far one of the best salads I have had, especially with whatever balsamic vinaigrette dressing they use. Came out and was very presentable with sliced cucumbers on the outside of the dish and two breadsticks in the shape of a carrot. Lucky for me I am a member of the Best Western Rewards club so I got my beer (up to $3.00 dollars) comped on my meal. Service was good also, not slow but did not bug either of us as others I have ate at in the past. Would definitely recommend!!

Besides Pacinos for dinner, be sure to stop by for lunch. A very interesting selection with some little special touches (special mayo, garnishes, etc.) from the chef at a very reasonable price. I do not normally have dessert at lunch, but one multi layered chocolate cake with two forks had enough left over to take back to the office in a box for a late afternoon snack.

Best food in town! Go upstairs for a more formal setting; the pub downstairs is relaxed. Check out the specials menu - all of the fibs and steak options are fantastic. And get the chocolate pate with raspberry sauce for dessert...

One of the best restaurants in Escanaba. Great food for lunch and dinner! Lunch menu has a great selection of large salads- I always get either the Chicken Linguine salad or the Tuscan Pesto Pasta salad. As for dinner, they have a huge selection to choose from. I'd recommend the prime rib, any one of their steaks, the Cajun chicken pasta, and any of their fish dinners. I've never been disappointed while eating here. Their dinner specials are always changing- great varitey. They have a casual dining room upstairs, and a pub downstairs with a larger bar area. The servers are friendly and attentive. Also great for groups.

Our dinner, the service and the atmosphere were all excellent. Although a little pricey, it was well worth the money.

Solid if it were Napa or NYC. CRAZY GOOD for this area: We three foodies atera across the menu and did not find a SINGLE disappointment. The filet was flawless, the sides were impressive and the pastas were perfect. I don't know where they found this chef, but eat here QUICK before he gets snatched by one of the majors.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
