Worst service ever tonight. Not sure if we'll be back again. Food isn't that great, but I will miss the fish and chips.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon during our motorcycle ride. Super friendly waitress gave us some recommendations (big salad, smoked pork and brisket, good burgers) and we picked the Santa Fe salad which was perfect and fed both of us! Also got some sweet potato fries which were thicker cut and yummy. They've got a few craft beers on tap too!

Good food. Had a chicken club salad and a BLT sandwich. Something about the atmosphere is a little off......can't put my finger on it.

We stopped in last night to try this joint for the first time. The hostess told us we'd need to sit upstairs. Okay. UP THE STAIRS is absolutely keerect. One long flight of narrow steps. I don't know how they meet the Building Code. My Wife had the Salmon "Special" for $16.99. She said it was good but the trimmings were meager. I opted for the Cheese Seafood & Macaroni "Special" and it really wasn't........."Special", that is........it was so-so. It was described to have "lump" Crab but it actually contained "fake" Crab. It had three Shrimp some pasta in a thin cheese sauce with a few bread crumbs on top. The pasta was said to be from some Italian place and touted as if it was "Omigosh!" special. After using the Men's Room (Warning: The door opens to fully expose a person using the urinal), there were no paper towels left in the dispenser. I informed a young gal about this as I left. "And we're cli-i-i-i-i-bm-ing a stairway to Dexter's................"

Sad to report this place has really slipped since we started coming here. Yesterday's visit was less than stellar. My club sandwich, while generously portioned, was constructed of mediocre ingredients. TONS of turkey but it was kind of meh deli meat, the bacon was thick cut but not very flavorful. The fries were pretty good but lacking in salt. Easy enough to add but still. The other dishes at the table weren't much better. My fella got the berry salad and he was disappointed that there were so few berries. My grandma ordered the fish and chips and it came with a baked potato instead of fries. They were really quick about bringing the replacement fries but it was just kind of weird. The fish was pretty good, though. I will give them that! The servers are very nice and I still dig the atmosphere. It's just a bummer the food doesn't really live up anymore.

We came here as a large group and sat out on the balcony. All we could hear were the chimes that were hung all around the sides. It was so overwhelming and we couldn't even hear each other that we had to get up and twist the chimes so they wouldn't ring. It was really annoying. The food menu was not appealing. There were too many items that I didn't feel like digging through it. I ended up ordering a water and watching every one else eat. But even their food came I didn't feel hungry. I don't know how to explain this place, it just feels very blah.

Consistently good burgers and seafood. Draft beer has been flat a couple of visits. The upstairs is sterile and less welcoming than the first floor where it is comfortable whether seated at the bar, at a table, or in a booth. It's nice to sit at the bar and watch the Tigers in the summer, or to dine in a cozy booth on a cold winter night.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would! I've never liked this place because the service is always bad, the waitresses are rude and act like they hate their job - but I agreed to try it again for lunch with a friend and once again it was a bad experience! Our entree came out before our appetizer (wtf?) and when we asked where it was we got a rude response from our waitress - saying it takes at least 20 minutes to make spinach dip. OK, I don't need to know how long it takes to cook our appetizer, I need to know why you brought out our entree before we even got the dip? So that turned me off from this place even more - not to mention the chicken on our salad was bad and the dip was not worth eating after our entree. She didn't refill our drinks or ask how our food was. Bottom line, this place is the definition of greasy spoon - if your looking for better quality AND service, go to The Red Brick across the street!!

We go to this pub regularly, especially with our dog in the summer when we can sit outside. The food is good - not only a rich variety of pub food, but also specials every day, and deserts. Lots of beers to choose from, and even some decent wine. Always popular with those in and around Dexter, so may have a bit of a wait on a Friday or Saturday night. A lot of people also bring their kids, and they have a separate dining room, away from the bar.

If you know what to order here at the pub the food is pretty good. Sunday and Monday they have kids eat free! Steak fries are great, specials are good too. I have had the cod sandwich a few times and it's great. The onion rings are also very good. Just skip the desserts.

Drove out to Dexter last Friday night to check this place out. We got seated right away but the place filled up pretty quickly. I was worried about sitting next to the bar because of the smoking but they must have pretty good ventilation because it didn't bother us at all. I agree with Sarah W - the menu is huge and takes a while to dig through. I must have asked our waitress 6 times for "a few more minutes to look, please"! I finally settled on the fried icelandic cod platter and I was not disappointed. Huge portion and it tasted really fresh. The prices are pretty decent, slightly less expensive than similar restaurants in Ann Arbor. Our server was attentive and hooked my husband up with a free soup upgrade from cup to bowl. Overall good food and relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to try the pizza and other tasty-looking menu items.

Very friendly --!and attractive!!-- wait staff. Very attentive and knowledgable. Good menu with specials and variety. This isn't "fine dining" but it is great for families and friends. I don't know if they have music all the time but they just featured LARRY JAMES & FRIENDS. really tasty jazz featuring a wonderful singer. The drummer was good-ok. Not nearly loud enough. TVs all around with whatever YOU want to watch !!

Stopped into night, grabbed a bar seat and served a cold beer quickly. Had the chicken and asparagus salad, amazingly delicous!! Plenty of games and friendly people. Very enjoyable experience!

Can we say food poisoning??? Took the family there and while the food tasted great the two of us who shared the Texas Chili Burger came down with the exact same food poisoning symptoms within 12 hours. Achy skin, fever, chills, nausea, etc. We both lost a day of work. We've been there about a dozen times and the staff is always friendly... but certainly doesn't make up for food poisoning.

Always the nicest folks here. Enjoyed a great steak, cooked perfect to order and seasoned just right. Whether at the bar, a table or out on the sidewalk out front, the Dexter Pub is like an old friend that's always happy to see you. Locals or visitors from out of town know that this is the place and reigns King of Dexter as the real hometown authentic family pub.

I really enjoy the Dexter Pub. It is a very friendly place, with good service, is conveniently located, and you can always find a table with no wait. However, the prices are exorbitantly high for basic pub food.

I've had pretty good meals here. Nothing great but solid. Prices are reasonable and they have a decent selection of drinks. Service has been hit or miss. Definitely worth a stop.

I can't really complain about the Dexter Pub. I have visited maybe five times and my meal has always been pretty good. When they have the seafood Mac and cheese it is delicious. Burgers are pretty good, salads are good... I think the prices are fair. But I can't say that this place blows me away. One issue is that the seating upstairs is awkward - it gets very hot in the summer - probably poorly insulated. The tables are just set up oddly. It works well for a large party but you get that whole phenomenon where you feel like you're at a table with other people... when you're just at a "two-top"... because tables are side by side. Anyway, we pretty much end up here when Aubree's and Red Brick are full and are usually okay with it. They do support local teams and such, which I appreciate.

My husband, son, and I popped into the pub the other day on our way through town. It's a little dingy looking from the outside...and the inside...but the people there are super nice. We ordered a veggie pizza (minus the feta) and it was soooo yummy! My son was able to get a cup of milke with a top and a straw and he got crayons and stuff to color on. Not sure how any of the other food is, but the pizza was very good!

It's been a long time since I've been to the Dexter Pub. We recently purchased a discount certificate for the Dexter Pub and were passing by it on the way home from Chelsea so we decided to give it a shot. Our meal was very surprising. While the downstairs of the Pub is just that.. a pub, the upstairs looks like a small restaurant. They have a large selection of beers on tap and bottles as you would expect but the strange things is... the food was very good. I ordered the prime rib and was amazed at the size and flavor of the cut. Since I'm trying to cut back just a bit, I changed my order from baked potato to "double" vegetables, and they pleasantly complied. The julienned vegetables we a perfect accompaniment to the huge hunk of meat. My wife had the fettuccine chicken Alfredo, whey was a butter filled delight, with a great combination of flavors. We both enjoyed our meals immensely and also enjoyed some of the great beers that are on tap. I'm looking forward to returning here.

A great 'go to' place for burgers, brew, and televised sports. Very large portions too!

The Brisket & pork dinner was OK but the thick sliced brisket was light on smoke and flavor. The pulled pork bbq sauce was thick and sweet. Bells Two Hearted IPA and Dark Horse IPA were among the micros on tap. The Dark Horse IPA has a good bitterness and citrus after.

Always great service and great food. LOVED the Oktoberfest burger tonight.

The seasonal Oktoberfest burger was delicious. It comes with sauerkraut and a whole brat on top! It was big- I probably could have split it with a friend. Staff was nice.

No, just no. The service was fantastic but the food was.....urgh. We were there after a morning bike ride looking for a good lunch on a Sunday. The place we usually go was closed so we decided to give this place a try. My husband ordered the turkey burger. It looked like a chicken McNugget without the breading and there was a ton of gristle in it. It looked like it was microwaved then possibly put on the grill to give a little color. I ordered the Georgian Reuben, which wasn't half bad but it looked like the lunch meat was Carl Buddings and the coleslaw was store bought obviously not homemade. My daughter, who is 13 months had the kids meal mac and cheese. It. Was. Kraft. Mac. And Cheese. From The BOX (or a store brand of some sort) for $4.99 PLUS a container of GFS applesauce still in the container. WTF. I was mad. I could have made that portion size for .25. But our waitress (especially the one who gave us the rag to help clean up our daughter was exceptional). When I went to the ladies restroom I was able to peek into the kitchen. COMPLETE filth where it would would have Gordon Ramsay or Robert Irivin vomiting into the garbage. There was grease everywhere and plain ole' filth. I have worked in the restaurant industry a while ago while perusing my college degree and never I have I seen such grossness. Also, I heard some the chefs/cooks saying, "they don't pay me enough to do this F*&^ S&^%$. This is f&*^^......." you get the idea.....while I had my daughter with me. So, no. I will never come back here. Ever. Ever. Except, maybe for a beer, from a bottle, so I know it's not contaminated.

I'm a fan. I love the outdoor patio seating (even thought the mosquito lamps or whatever they are, caught on fire once and the hapless waitress had to play fire-fighter). The food is reasonably priced. Great selection, always tasty and not a long wait. Fun local place to eat!

"Meh." just about hits the nail on the head. Not to sound like a broken record here, but as other reviews mentioned: if you're looking for even remotely healthy options, this ain't your joint. The decor is cookie cutter, bland, sterile "New American Pub". We were seated upstairs in a room that reminded me of the many large birthday parties I attended as a little kid--lots of space, big tables, several big screen TVs and no character. I think the cinnamon butter with the bread is weird and they give you just an ungodly amount. I'm sure kids love it, but they don't need another reason to love slathering butter on everything. My husband paid $13 for goulash that he didn't enjoy, but we both thought the clam chowder was above average. I had the chicken fajita wrap and it was pretty decent with good flavor. The guacamole was also surprisingly good with a nice amount of heat. Our server was very nice and did a good job! That being said, I think our food took over half an hour to arrive and prices for everything seem steep. All in all, I don't see myself driving to Dexter for food like this when I can go to Casey's in Ann Arbor that delivers the same concept in a much better atmosphere and with much better food and prices.

Pretty good food. French Dip is always delicious here. Not spectacular, but if you want a low key dinner with a good wait staff and a fair menu, Dexter Pub is good! It is sometimes overly crowded, and their setup is not conducive to lines of waiting people. Maybe stay away on Friday nights?

I really enjoy coming here for their trivia nights on Thursdays. After 9 they have specials on beer, but the real happy hour ends at 6 :/ I do like their nachos, but the fries we got were boring. Service is friendly and fast. It is definitely a cool hang out spot in Dexter.

I went to the Dexter Pub with one of my friends because I'd come to see her new place and this is literally on the same block where she lives. We just stopped in to grab a quick drink and some munchies. The atmosphere is very small-town pub...a small bar, some booths, and some tables, tvs on to sports, etc. It was late enough in the evening that we were able to walk right in and seat ourselves at a booth. We both ordered 20 oz beers. I thought 5 bucks was a little pricey for 20 oz of Blue Moon, but whatever. Even though there were few people in there because it was 10 pm on a Wednesday, our beers took longer than average to get to us. And then we both ordered food...my friend had chicken tenders and fries, and I ordered the kiddie portion of macaroni and cheese because I was just looking for something little. What I got for my money was Kraft Mac and Cheese that had clearly been cooked several hours earlier. It was so overcooked that the noodles fell apart pretty much as soon as I touched them, and the noodles had that dark orange look that Kraft Mac and Cheese gets after long exposure to the air. I had about two bites and then ate the fries that came on the side and that was it. My friend did enjoy her chicken though. The service was not terrible, but not great. Next time I go into Dexter, I'm definitely going someplace else.

We have been to Dexter's Pub several times and had excellent service every time. We like the cinnamon butter that they give you with the bread they bring to the table. I like the Pub Club sandwich. Rather than another piece of bread in the middle they put more turkey on it. The BBQ Bacon Cheddar burger and the Chicken Club Salad were tasty too. Both were very generous. They use really thick meaty bacon. I'm sure well be going back.

Dexter Pub WOULD NOT HONOR a valid restaurant.com gift certificate for my father's birthday present today. No reason given. Even after asking the manager to make it right, Dexter Pub staff refused. Loss of value $25. I cannot possibly recommend visiting such a poorly managed restaurant.

OK, I didn't actually eat here, but I parked across the street near the Dexter Bakery (with intent), walked up to the pub, smelled the cigars being smoked at sidewalk tables by the bikers who had parked their Hogs all around (not threatening like in the old days), went inside, checked what people seemed to be eating out of those old plastic baskets..... to make it short, I went home and made a salad out my leftovers because what I saw just didn't make me want to eat there. Well, I'll never know what I missed, will I?

A place to relax, drink beer, and eat American pub food. The pizza is excellent, as are their 'bloomin' onions'. Monday night is kids night.
