Yeah, after last night, not visiting again. $7.38 was the total, for a small cone, small artic rush, and medium turtle sundae, not in a waffle bowl. the drink came in a tiny cup with an ice cream lid, not a drink cup. the cone was for a 2 year old. (usually when you order a large, you get WAY too much and a small seems just right, but not at this location. a small is the half the small size of the cone at the Ann Arbor DQ) and turtle sundae is supposed to look like the picture. whipped cream was missing. So for that order justified $7+?! I don't think so. We will stick with Twisters in Chelsea. What a rip off. I tried to get the gals attention to either find out if we ordered wrong, and to fix my sundae but they were too busy with the next order to give us any further attention. If the order was filled correctly, the value is not there.

What better place in a Norman Rockwell-esque town like Dexter than a landmark like this DQ. Right across from Veteran's Park, the DQ is a natural stop on another great day in Dexter. A word of warning: Be very careful when crossing the (marked) cross-walk between the DQ and Veteran's Park. Although the crossway is marked, cars will not stop.

Would be five stars but they are usually pretty slow with the service. Also the Ms PAC Man machine takes ur quarters and then game play is all buggy.

Mini treat to top off our gluttonous weekend! The scoop of ice cream looked like TWO scoops - Made my day. Plenty of flavour to choose from. The doughnuts looked yummy but I was in the verge of a diabetic meltdown from overeating. Price is reasonable too.

Yes, it's a DQ (and if you've read my reviews before you know my love for the DQ--Coco fudge FTW!) but it's an adorable DQ. Not just because it's located in downtown Dexter (a quaint little downtown just west of Ann Arbor) but the building itself is pretty swell. One of those relatively old fashioned looking DQs, not like the one that's all aluminum and florescent by my house. Sure, there's plenty of florescent here but at least there's that cute red roof to balance it out. The other night I was here and I got the most perfectly shaped vanilla cone dipped in the smoothest coating of chocolate I've ever seen. It was seriously a work of art. They could have used it in a print ad without any touch ups, it was THAT good. I would have taken a picture of it if it weren't for the legions of mosquitoes attacking my appendages as I was waiting (seriously, what is UP with them this year?). These really sweet high school gals behind the counter know how to work it. They've got their technique down! Also lovely is the gazebo/park across the street. My favorite thing to do is go out here on a sunny summer day and enjoy a cone or a sundae on the steps of the gazebo. Licking all the melting ice cream as plenty of kids and puppers run around. It's America at it's finest. Complete with the iconic curl at the top.

It's now dwarfed by a huge new building but the little red roof and service windows are unmistakable. Blizzards. Dipped cones. People with kids. Kids on bikes. Everything it should be in spring!
