Dewitt is, a northern suburb of Lansing; lots of chain stores and strip malls. For a more satisfying meal or drink if you're in town or just passing through, visit The Draft House, a smallish roadhouse/sports bar right on Old 27. Solid bar food; the menu isn't all that e citing, but the daily specials are appealing -- during our visit the day's specials included pan fried bluegill with hushpuppies, a pork, roasted corn chimichangas and Cajun broiled salmon. The pedestrian beer menu is likewise enlivened by seasonal craft beer specials from Michigan microbreweries like Short's and Arcadia. (Although the bar seemed to be stretching it a bit by including Killian's Red -- seriously? -- on its list.) We just stopped in for a beer and a nosh, but we give two thumbs up to the house-smoked chicken wings...much better than I expected. Our service was friendly but hurried -- we stopped in on a crazy-busy Friday evening. The bar's patrons run the demographical gamut, it on the evening we stopped in there were lots of families with children as well as TGIFing officeworkers and tradespeople, and retirees. It seemed like a fun, affordable hangout for townies, and we enjoyed ourselves too.

My husband and I frequently go to the Draft House and I've never had a bad meal. They have a great beer selection of seasonal and local Michigan beers as well as a great casual atmosphere. Taco Tuesdays are really busy but if you can get a table I recommend the fish tacos, so good!

I love olive burgers and I was very disappointed with the one I was served here. This was my first visit to the Draft House and I had hoped for better food. It was a very thin patty that came with olive sauce in a small cup. It barely covered the burger. It also came with shredded lettuce and tomato which was strange to me. I felt like I was served a flat burger from Hot n Now with a side cup of olives. Fries were decent and the service was very quick. However, try to get there early if possible! It's extremely crowded and they don't have room for you to stand in the doorway without getting in the way of people trying to get to the restroom. I may try it again but definitely not for the burgers.

Second time having under-cooked fish. Perch and walleye should not be pink and rubbery. Weird thing is they brought us different perch and it was still under-cooked. We have had fish at umpteen restaurants. This is the only one to under-cook it. Weird. Love everything else about this place. Wont get fish again.

Good selection of beer, food is consistent and good. Try the feisty fetta hummus, certainly one of the things that make this a "better" mom and pop draft house/road house style restaurant. The atmosphere's what you'd expect from the name and service is normally pretty good.

Good beer, a little on the pricey side, and darn tasty tacos on Tuesday. The burgers aren't bad either. I would pick this place over Rellies any day but we have a group of friends that won't part with their Thirsty Thursday tradition there. If you do head in for taco Tuesday, give the fish taco a try. Yum!

Comfortable atmosphere and good selection of delicious entrees and libations. Do not miss Taco Tuesday.

Definitely one of the best American style bar/grilles in the area. The draft house is a green restaurant, in that they only serve sustainable fish, though they don't necessarily flaunt it. They are the only mid-Michigan restaurant certified by the Green Restaurant Association though, which is admirable. But to be honest, it's not really the kind of hippy-dippy place you'd expect of a "green-certified restaurant." No, this really is the kind of place you go with friends to have a beer and meal, and enjoy yourself a bit. They have plenty of good beer on tap, including Stella Artois, which always brings me in. Their fish entres are tasty and well prepared, the honey-glazed Salmon especially impressed me with its sweet nutty taste and flaky texture, and at $10, seemed a steal. My wife liked her pan-fried Walleye - crispy but not greasy - and they even have Bluegill, which is a sort of Michigan soul food. We had to save room for the apple skillet pie, served warm with vanilla ice cream of course. It was good, but I'm not that big on overly sweet desserts. We'll be back. It was a short wait on a Friday night, but well worth checking out.

This place just makes you want to drink beer and eat onion rings. The food is pretty good--a huge helping of your standard pub food. Mostly they get four stars for the onion rings.

The food is good, great fries if you ask for them extra crispy. I honestly don't think you can beat the prices. I ordered their half rack of ribs and a chicken breast with fries and a side salad for 15 dollars. My dinner companion had a great half a pound hamburger for something like 6.75. We both took home leftovers! The menu is small, but there is a lot of different flavors represented. There seems to be a great beer selection. The wait staff is present without hovering. There were a lot of families around, in spite of it being a bar, so it's friendly for all types. It was loud, but it's a bar! You have to expect that. The atmosphere was great, it was a bar without all the tacky fake crap tacked up on the walls.

I got a lot of love for the Draft House even though we were recently there on an off day. First off, I remember this place being so smoky back in the day that I cannot tell you how overjoyed I was to see the non-smoking sign on the door. Way to go, Draft House! Dark with lots of wood, it has an older feel. The best part of the food we ordered were the fried pickles. I could have made much better tacos then the ones I got. Two sandwiches in our group came without any type of mayo or sauce on them and one was a BLT--what? Service was slow for lunch on a Saturday. Don't worry, Draft House, I still love you and I will be back for dinner and some brews.

We stopped at the Draft House because of the positive Yelp reviews. We were just driving through town and were hungry. My wife and I both ordered from the Mexican portion of the menu. When my quesadilla and her tacos came out quickly, we were a little skeptical. We were pleasantly surprised at the tastiness and quality of the food. While the rice and salsa were obviously not home cooked, they were delicious. My quesadilla was slightly crunchy with a lot of flavor. The tacos were both healthy and juicy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

When in doubt what to order, ask a local. They recommended the French Dip and it was great! Enjoyed the French roll and the they did not scrimp with the beef and cheese. Maybe the biggest French dip I ever had? I paired it with the Scary Jesus Rockstar from Dark Horse brewery. Nice way to end my long day!!!

We stopped in at the Draft House for convenience after arriving by air from California "totally starved". We couldn't have been more pleased by the ambiance, the attentiveness of the staff, the variety of craft beers and the food. The BBQ ribs, a go-to favorite for me were outstanding. We also loved the stuffed potato skin and stuffed jalapeno appetizers. My husband especially enjoyed a couple of the craft draft ales /IPA. One with a slight grapefruit taste was even a hit for me.

Every time I go there I'm disappointed in the food and especially the service....I thought maybe I went at a bad time or because it's busy, but that's not the case. I've decided I'm never going there again. Servers are always slow to come to your table and food takes an hour to arrive, and it's never up to par!

We had a young server who was 19 and didn't explain to us (till the very end she was new.) I had to ask her 5 times for a water. If she would have explained I wouldn't have been so irritated. Management may want to mention this to new servers for the future. Food is so-so.

Their menu is awesome! They have an array of different foods, including mexican and crab Rangoons. They have a full bar and the service is awesome. Also, their bathrooms are 100% hands free. They have sani seats!

I work in DeWitt. I have had quite a few good experiences here. Taco Tuesday is usually my day of choice. They have decent selection of Craft & Domestic beers. Their nachos are amazing, and burgers are really darn good. I have only ever had one bad experience, and it was my first time trying out the place. It was Taco Tuesday and nobody would answer the phone! I wanted to try these legendary tacos. It was a long time before I gave them another shot. Since then they have yet to disappoint.

Solid burgers and sandwiches at a reasonable price. Feel like you kinda get killed with extras. My $6.75 burger jumped to $9.70 after adding cheese and jalepenos. Overall a good dining experience. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. She didn't even seem miffed when I asked to refire my burger with cheese (totally my fault for not ordering it). Would be solid 4 stars if they accepted AMEX. I'll be back with friends and family, but I won't be back with business clientele. Edit: I dinged this place for the lack of taps. With this name, I was expecting a lot more variety on draft.
