Stopped by this hold over from Detroit's heyday. Located on a stretch of Michigan Ave. littered with strip clubs and gas stations, this place must have been happening during the Tigers' World Series run in the 80's. Long bar to the left, several tables strewn with poker chips and newspapers from what appeared to be several years to the right, we sat at the bar and enjoyed the warm welcome from the pleasant bartender who aptly presented me a two dollar Budweiser bottle. No taps, but two dollar bottles make up for it. There were two regulars in control of the pull down projector screen behind the bar and had chosen some unfamiliar John Wayne film. It didn't take long to decide that this was one of the coziest and most over looked bars in the city. Go there now before it falls to the wayside like so many other beautiful watering holes.
