I love their food. My best friend took me there so that I could try traditional Polish food. I was blown away, their pierogis was so good. I couldn't get enough of their meatballs, they were well seasoned and moist. How could I leave without trying the stuffed cabbage. I thought that I wouldn't like it but it was really good. Great place to dine, I can't wait to go back.

Huge portions for cheap. This place has a lot of character as well as the people working here. Their sauerkraut is the jam and I'll stuff my face here with pierogi anyday. 10/10 will go again.

Whenever I'm near Dearborn I make it a point to eat here. Great food at fair prices, extremely friendly staff, and a cast of characters from the neighborhood, all in a vintage atmosphere. Places like this are a dying breed. Try the Polish dishes, just as good as Hamtramck without the elevated prices. The breakfast specials are outstanding too. Never had a bad meal yet.

Polish Food is wonderful.You cant go wrong with the Polish Combo, Kielbasa AND Meatballs, Mashed potatoes, Stuffed Cabbage, Krout. AND Pierogis? Try the City Chicken when they have it on special, try the cabbage soup, have the Kielbasa and Poached eggs for breakfast. Nobody paches Eggs like Jims Place does. And every time we go in, Zora the waitress always recognizes you. It's a low key, clean, mom and pop place that cook's down home polish food. Everything is good on the menu- Cons: No Equal- only Sweet-n-Low. and they sometimes over cook the breakfast omelettes.

We ordered the authentic Polish dishes and they were fabulous: tasty, nice portions, very reasonable price. Jim came out of the kitchen to make sure all was well at our table. He's been doin it for decades and it was obvious that his habit is "all quality, all the time". As with some other shopping sites in the Detroit area, many of the name brand stores have left Jim's neighborhood for greener pastures. But if your shopping urges have been satisfied and now you are hungry, looking for a good family style quality meal, Jim's Place is well worth the drive.

We happened across this joint only because we were stopped at a traffic signal and saw the sign across the street. This is a step back in time to the 60's (or earlier) when neighborhood restaurants had counter service. Our waitress was a "mature" lady with a strong European accent and I was quick to trade zingers with her, she was quick to respond. I had the Polish Combo plate and I'll give it 3 stars because of two items: The "kielbasa" wasn't the authentic, Polish-style sausage that I grew up with and it was grilled, not simmered. Also, the Green Beans were right out the can, mushy and had very little taste. The cook needs to jazz them up with some spices, bacon grease or onions. The chicken noodle soup was fantastic. I'm a big guy and a big eater but this was more food than I could handle at one sitting. This place is definitely worth visiting. Don't take any wooden nickels.

In town for business. Was Yelping for a good breakfast spot and not too many in this area. Gave Jim's a try and happy to have made a wise decision. Great food and friendly service. Going back for some Polish food!

Jim's Place is the best Polish food I've had outside Hamtramck, and I'm a big Polish food fan. Their Polish Combo is reasonably priced and has enough food for two meals. I absolutely love the sausage and stuffed peppers, and their cabbage soup is the best I've ever tasted. Their pierogis are fairly run-of-the-mill, but always taste fresh. The service there is fantastic - they remember names, come up with inside jokes for frequent customers (one of my friends always gets called "Mikey" because he looks like someone's grandson, apparently). They have lots of reasonably priced lunch combos as well, and I've seen signs for large batch / catering and always been tempted. The decor is diner/cafe standard. Clean, but nothing snazzy. However - I come for the food and experience, and I highly doubt you'll regret a visit here!

Excellent polish food..I ordered the polish combo with Kielbasa. No complaints...I usually goto Hamtramck to get my polish food but this place was very comparable. Only thing missing is my dill pickle soup! They don't serve it here.

Strange this place does not come up in Yelp search. Yelp does manipulate business rating as it came out in news. Anyways, I tried the combo plate and the food is extremely good. The atmosphere is very cordial. The place is tucked between the trees, so hard to find. I will highly recommend this place. Who knew they have been here for last 40 years?

Looking for something special for breakfast in Dearborn before heading back to Chicago. Decided to try this place and we're sure glad we did! Old school inside, coffee shop counter, booths and tables. The owner is friendly and immediately made us feel like relatives. You can order anything on the menu, anytime of dau so I got pierogi's, potatoe pancakes and over easy eggs. Delicious! Yes, plenty of carbs but hey, it's Polish! Hubby got kielbasa and eggs and was happy too. Very inexpensive, a warm and filling send ff from the Motor City! Here for a wedding but enjoyed the Dream Crusie and also estate sales in Grosse Pointe. A perfect weekend getaway!

You wouldn't expect to find an incredible diner on this stretch of Michigan. It's been here for years and the food is the reason (not the decor). Friendly service and everything on the menu is wonderful from the breakfasts to dinner and dessert. Come hungry!

SO good!! I love their customer service as well. Super friendly. Their soups are excellent. Pierogis fantastic, potatoes, cheese, kraut!~!!! I love their Greek Omelette with FRESH FETA! spinach, and tomatoes! I eat their at least once a week! My favorite diner in the are HANDS DOWN.

It had been over a year since I've been in here. Little has changed. Pictures of the pope still adorn the walls. Regulars are still shuffling in and out and all are acknowledged by name. They do take debit/credit cards now and they have new flat screens. I ordered the polish combo plate. It's still your usual stick to the ribs food. Starting with a cup of very tasty cabbage soup. Complete with pierogis,real mashed potatoes, stuffed cabbage and kielbasa. It's all authentic fare. For just under $8. it can't be beat and is enough to take home for a second meal. The waitstaff was both friendly and accomodating. The only drawback iI can see is the early evening closing time.

This looks like a coney place from outside, but it does serve nice homemade polish food. The Polish combo is popular - you get 3 pierogis, cabbage roll of a nice size and nicely done, a pile of mashed potato, another pile of sauerkraut, and kielbasa or meat balls. It's a lot of food for one person, enough to induce post-lunch slowness. Oh yes, you also get a soup with the combo. Service is casual. One of the waitresses barks and snaps at her customers in a humourous way, a part of the theatrics, no ill-meaning at all. It made our group lunch more entertaining. Try this place if you are in the area and want Polish. Street parking in front of the restaurant.

Not the best but they have some unique and tasty menu items like the kielbasa omelette and the barley soup, which is to die for. inexpensive. Sadly, most of the polish places have closed in the dearborn, warrendale area.

As promised, went back today. With the Michigan smoking ban now in place, you don't walk out of there smelling like smoke anymore. Went with just pierogis today. Still good. Comes with soup or salad plus veggie of the day. I chose chicken noodle and it was very good. Homemade, lots of noodles and well-seasoned. Companion had the cabbage soup and said it was outstanding. Service is still sub-par. Companion described it as "It's like you're going to your Aunt's house." Prime example - when I asked if the vegetable had any meat in it, they replied, "No, they're out of a can. What are you - a vegetarian?" 4* food, 2* service.
