Meh! I had a sandwich made up of 3 chicken tenders....not so great. My wife got the walleye and loved it! Ordered apple pie and sent it back as it was mushy from being served over 3+ days
The whitefish in the Seafarer sandwich is superb, the fries are great, and the cole slaw is nice and tangy. The remoulade sauce on the whitefish cakes was superb and the cakes were plenty big as a lunch serving. The KBC Amber was excellent as usual. The ambience is a cross between between nautical and north woods and is very comfortable. We come every year when we're in Copper Harbor.
Understand that dining in Copper Harbor isn't exactly like eating in New Orleans, Chicago or Santa Fe. There are basically five places to eat, and two are only by reservation. When my husband and I come to Da U. P., we look for good food, reasonably priced--not Wolfgang Puck. That said, my husband had the broiled whitefish with soup and I had an artisan turkey grilled cheese. The soup was good, and definitely homemade. The fish was decent and the grilled cheese had good turkey, was properly made (every bite had all the ingredients, so it wasn't like all the turkey was in one end and the cheese was in the other) and nicely toasted. The waiter was friendly and kept our water topped off. The music was low enough to talk over, and the lodge-y atmosphere was comfortably homey. It's a nice place to relax after a long day hiking, kayaking, fishing and generally wandering around. The menu has enough variety that you won't get bored eating here four times in a week.

We stopped in for breakfast around 7 a.m. Food was reasonably priced, decor what you'd expect for a mom and pop restaurant in a tourist area. We had an omelette and oatmeal, both of which are difficult to screw up. The side order of thick cut bacon was delicious. Like most places in Keweenaw County, they don't accept AMEX. The real clincher was the service. We were cheerfully greeted (and so were other patrons), coffee came quickly, food came quickly and we were on with our day of exploring the area quickly. Definitely worth a stop. Jim & Colette roamingtogether.com facebook.com/followrt
Better than average breakfast, lunch, dinner place. Friendly waitstaff always have a pot of coffee in hand and keep your cup full. The food is what you would expect, not high end just a good, hearty meal. I ate there 3 times during my vacation, every meal was good and reasonably priced. I recommend it as an alternative to the 'tourist trap' restaurants.
A fairly standard diner, this place would normally get 3 stars from me, but two things stood out: homemade jam and bread made right on the premises, and fantastic seafood. The trout was some of the most tender and flavorful I've ever had. Both dinner and breakfast were very good here. Breakfast was not as cheap as I might expect at a diner, but the portions were large and filling. The staff was attentive and nice and were willing to chat about where the bread, jam and trout came from, which is why I know the owner makes her own strawberry jam and they bake their own white country bread that's offered on the salad bar.
