Giving Michael's the benefit of the doubt and giving them a 4 instead of a 3. I've heard nothing but positive things about Michael's, and finally made a trip today. First of all, everyone here seems to be incredibly friendly and in a good mood -- it just has a nice vibe. Although the building itself is really small (maybe five booths and seats about 15 at the bar seating area), it doesn't feel particularly claustrophobic. I ordered the vegetable omelette with rye toast. The place was basically full at roughly 10am on a Sunday, and there was only seating at the bar. We ordered, and even though the place was starting to clear out a few customers, it still took probably half an hour for our food to come out -- and my toast was burnt. I'm surprised they thought it was okay enough to butter and serve to me. I'm not so picky that I bothered to say something, but it was definitely in the toaster a bit too long. The vegetable omelette was good -- standard three egg omelette with green peppers, onion, mushroom, tomato, and cheese. Unfortunately, American cheese. I certainly didn't hate it, but it made an otherwise very well made omelette taste a bit cheap. That's on me though -- next time I'll be asking for another cheese. The hash browns were fine, although not all that... brown. Again, I'm generally not very picky, and they tasted fine/weren't cold. All-in-all, I'd visit again, despite my less-than-stellar first experience with the food. I really like the diner aesthetic, and the people working here seem genuinely happy. There is also a TV (maybe two?) in Michael's, in case you were wondering. A side note, the TV here is HD, but not tuned to an HD channel. Why is that? Unless they don't have an HD box for some reason, that's kind of stupid. Anyway, I'll chalk my first visit up as somewhat of a fluke, as the hashbrowns weren't cooked quite enough and my toast was a bit burnt, but the prices are fair, the service is good (even if the food took a surprisingly long time to come out), and the building's cozy.

Love this restaurant. Best breakfast around. Great staff that makes you feel like your at home every time you visit. Not expensive & great food. If they moved into a larger building it just wouldn't be the same!

Been past here many times and always wondered how good it was. Well, it was fantastic! Friendly service, one of the best omelets I've ever had. Cheap prices. Will most definitely be back.

First time here. Seating is very limited. Came for lunch and is was fairly full of customers. Food came in a relatively timely manner. Ordered the turkey club. Fresh ingredients and a decent serving size. Would recommend for a basic lunch, or breakfast, too, as I saw several customers get served those items as well.

After church today we went to one of our favorite breakfast spots a little secret in Chesterfield Township called Michaels family restaurant. This place has phenomenal breakfast as well as a great lunch and early early dinner menu. Today we had the lumberjack stack and the big breakfast let me tell you pure heaven after church. A little tip the third Thursday of every month they have a full blown Thanksgiving dinner turkey dressing potatoes the works. Order early because when they're out they're out. Don't forget to try their chili as well as their little sliders they are wonderful and if you order 6 or more they're only a dollar 25 each. I hope I'm not causing too much trouble by giving this place of 5 and attracting too much attention because they only have 6 booths and a huge counter where you can eat. . ..But it's worth the wait.

Best breakfast place in town. Mom and pop tiny place but the people are friendly, the place is spotless clean and the conversations are great...if you like being at a place that feels like family and eating homemade food ... Come here you won't be disappointed, bring cash cause plastic isn't accepted... It's small 4 booths 1 table and 10 counter seats

Stopped by for the first time today and we have found our breakfast place! Great food, atmosphere and service! Omelet was huge and delish! My husband has the big breakfast which he could not finish with pancakes which were yummy! Did I mention the coffee was good too

This is a tiny spot that I have driven by for years. Finally went in and regretted not stopping sooner. The food (breakfast especially) was simple and delicious. Plus they serve a full home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner on the third Thursday of every month!
