Very nice menu. The ingredients are fresh, many things housemade, and the flavors are unique in Cheboygan. We have brought friends who are vegetarian, gluten-free, or dairy-free and all have been kindly treated, their requests considered thoughtfully and graciously. This is by far the most accommodating restaurant in Cheboygan for dietary restrictions. My husband loves the Monte Cristo (on the breakfast menu), I like the panini and salads. We tried the pasties but wouldn't do it again, they're just not in the same league as the UP pasties across the bridge. There are some Australian specialties, like Aussie meat pies and Banofee pie (the owner is Australian), but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Looking forward to it! The cafe itself is casual, small, and tables are close together, so it's not the best environment for private conversations. Also, the owner's husband likes to chat! ;) The outdoor seating is made enjoyable by the shade umbrellas, even if the view is not the greatest. That being said, I appreciate the efforts that have been made by the owner to diversify the dining scene in Cheboygan.

What a GREAT find in little old Cheboygan. Fresh, delicious, and just amazing. Plenty of choices. Unique ingredients, and everything I have tried has been house made. I have never tried anything here that I didn't like. Everyone we have brought here or recomended it to has absolutly loved it. If you are visiting Cheboygan, Indian River, or Mackinaw City this place has to be on your list. Most folks don't venture out of Mackinaw City when they visit, but just take a scenic drive down 23 along the shore of Lake Huron to Cheboyan and have the best breakfast or lunch in all of Cheboygan or Mackinaw City. My favorites are the Aussie Meat Pies, the twisted BLT (yummy thick cut bacon with chipolte mayo), the Michigan cherry salad, and the desserts are to die for!!! Don't miss the bannoffee pie if you are lucky to get a slice before they sell out. Or just buy a whole pie!! Cupcakes, peach pie, cream puffs. They are all good and made with love. The owners are fantastic people and really make you feel welcome. I wish you guys all the success in the biz. Some of the reviews mention slow service, but am alway in and out for lunch (including dessert) in less than an hour. I work in downtown Cheboygan and only get an hour for lunch and I've never been late getting back! Thank you for bringing this dining experience to Cheboygan! It is truly appreciated and needed!!

My family and I were camping in the Cheboygan area and we needed to eat at a place with outdoor seating (we had our dog with us.) We ordered the cranberry, chicken, and 5 blend cheese savory crepes. They were the best dinner crepes i've had in a LONG time. The service also exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and the owner(?) brought my dog out a bowl of water and a plate of grilled chicken! He was in heaven! The man also killed some bees that were buzzing around us while we ate. Now that's service!

Wonderful little spot in Cheboygan County. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of options on the menu and the friendly staff over there. Tried the pasties and a couple sandwiches they were great! Coffee was surprisingly good and fresh.

This place was too cute. Instantly greeted w/a smile & asked to sit anywhere. We had all the staff waiting on us at one time or another & even the cook, come to find out. Place is clean & set up pretty well you're not sitting on top of your neighbor, they even had outside seating from what I could tell. The food was cooked to our liking. I asked for over easy eggs, I got over easy eggs. My fiancé asked for medium, he got medium. They even crisped up my hash browns that were in the skillet, now that's service. This place was great. If you try it, at least try it for the service, everyone's taste buds are different but everyone likes great service.

Amazing food for this neck of the woods. Love the Soups made from scratch. Just had a peanut butter hot chocolate (yum).

I had the breakfast sandwich with ham on their made from scratch English muffin. That was cooked well, the ham was tender and the muffin was really good. Ordered a flat white for coffee, and it was excellent. The server was very friendly. I did try the strawberry crepes and I did not care for those, but for the area this is a great choice.

My cousin and I stopped in to this cute little place in downtown Cheboygan and had a great meal. I had the special, a vegetable frittata with hash browns, my cousin had the monte cristo, both were scrumptious. Great homemade bread, fresh ingredients and fair prices. We also had wonderful, friendly service. I would definitely return.

Great food and service. We had the Garden Breakfast Skillets and Strawberry Crepes. Everything was fresh and wonderful. I love that they bake their own bread and that most of the menu is organic. The cappuccino was nice also!

I got a cup of tomato basil soup and a shaved ribeye sandwich. The tomato soup was essentially chunky marinara, it was sweet but definitely felt like I was eating a cup of dipping sauce. I chose 9 grain oat for my sandwich which was really great but the lack of meat and the lack of zip of the horseradish sauce on the sandwich made it really nothing special not to mention the carmalized onions were extremely under cooked and by no means "carmalized". I might eat here once more to give it another shot but there are definitely better places to eat in Cheboygan. Also on a side note the owner was conducting her buisness inin the dining room occupying a 6 top table quite loud and obviously... very un-professional...

I was a little Skeptical about eating here just from reading the reviews that were less than 4 stars. I learned that it's not the good reviews u should go by on yelp all the time Bc if u did than u would b disappointed 85% of the time. Well..... Your spirit.... Hmmmm what can I say about this place... Very very strange spot n strange workers. The way the waitress n chef made us feel was that this restaurant was a cover up for Walter whites meth lab. The two workers kept taking turns manning the front w only one table (which was us) in the place. Whoever was in the back kept peeping through a space in the wall like they were doing something suspicious. Ok enough about the spun out high on workers... The food took FOREVER to come out. When we walked in we didn't want to b rude n walk out so we decided to order simple breakfast items. I could've made us what we ordered in 5 min compared to 30 min. Needless to say I we will not b back.

This was a little gem we found for breakfast. All around fresh ingredients and great coffee too! The owner came out to say hi to us and make sure we were enjoying everything. It took a little time to cook because of the frittatas, but it was so worth it. I had the veggie one and added ham. I almost ate the whole thing, but I just couldn't do it!

If you can't make food better than I can make at home, than why should I come to your restaurant? And keep your sweaty kitchen staff in the kitchen. I'm sure most chefs sweat in the kitchen, but you go out the back door, not through your crowded dining area. That's gross and it made your food taste just a little blah. And all the avocados on my wife's salad were brown. Learn how to work with food. Very disappointed.

My husband and I loved our breakfast here. He had the crazy oatmeal and I enjoyed the chicken frittata with sweet potatoes on the side. The decorated tables were very cool too. We will be back to try the piña colada pancakes!

We were driving thru with my huge family after a weekend in Mackinaw and I found Your Spirit on Yelp and it was a great place am the food was a delight. They were so accommodating to our large group of over 20. I had the Cobb salad.

Owner is nice as can be, food is excellent and great quality. You can tell she uses fresh ingredients and I never leave feeling guilty after I've eaten there. Must try! One of the best restaruants in Cheboygan!

My wife and I love this cute little joint. The food is really delicious, and appear to be homemade with wholesome ingredients. The soup was fantastic, steak pita with thinly shaved ribeye, homemade whole-grain pita bread and tasty horseradish sauce. Even the coleslaw is enough to come back for. Will be back next time we are in cheboygan for sure.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on hot day and this met two of our needs. It was vegetarian friendly and there was outdoor seating which they allowed my dog to join us for. The wait staff seemed pretty busy but they still brought a bowl of water for my dog without me asking, gave excellent service, and the food was good. Overall, not blown away but not disappointed. Would definitely return if in the area.

Food was good but not great. It took a very long time to get our food. They have a variety of food you can't usually get in northern michigan so that was enjoyable.

As good as it gets in Cheboygan and a stand out in any town for sure. This is hands down the best place for breakfast in northeast Michigan. The Aussie chef really out does herself and the staff is friendly even if they bumble around a bit, it's al part of the charm. Crepes are excellent sweet and savory an offer the option of whole wheat. The baked goods are fantastic. I can't pass up the crème puffs! But the star here has to be the frittatas. Potatoes (white or sweet) on the bottom, your selected toppings and loads of cheese. A variety of homemade toasted breads to select from and oh my I can't finish the whole thing but it is soooo tasty. Don't expect fast service. Cooking takes time and it's all made onsite. So sit back, relax and make friends with the people at the table next to you. It's that kind of place.

As a Cheboygan Native that dreads the food options when I return home, I was pleased to see this place redone again. I stopped in for a few minutes before they closed (around 3 PM) but the staff was courteous and didn't seem impatient for me to leave I ordered some soup and salad - both were pretty cafe classic but tasty and fresh. I am always pleased to see things like goat cheese and homemade chunky tomato soup. Free Wi-Fi and light, fresher food in this city is well needed and I would definitely recommend.

Really my visit was more like 3.5 stars. This place has potential to be Cheboygan's best restaurant but the owner has to want it more than she currently does. After reading the Yelp reviews, I was sorely disappointed in my initial visit particularly since my mom and dad really like this place. We enter through the door and wait to be seated, per the sign. Insert cricket noise here. Finally, someone yells across the room for to sit wherever we wanted. Sort of contrary to the sign I suppose. No big deal, we easily find a table. The place is part funky cool and just part funky. Half of the kitchen cold storage is out in the dining room yet art is on the wall. The muffin cases are enormous, almost too big for the concept and yet they only had about 9 total muffins available. I can't tell if they are a small batch baker (according to intel, everything is baked on site) or they sold out of everything and this is what was left. Presentation just looked odd to me. It was brunch time and my wife ordered a chicken club. Made on their homemade bread, it came with fresh lettuce, fresh tomato slices, quality bacon and what appeared to be real sliced white meat chicken. She declared this a winner and value for dollar, a triumph. She also had a Caesar salad that had homemade dressing that was super garlicky and heavy on the anchovy. Personally, I thought the dressing was extraordinary and was the best part of the meal next to the quality cup of coffee. However, at the price point it is sold at it could be 30% larger to be worth the price. I had the sausage gravy skillet per the server's recommendation as she told me the gravy was the best around. Those are fighting words in Northern Michigan but I'm willing to roll the dice. I was bummed when everything was ice cold except the scrambled eggs, so I sent it back. I was going to hold out for lunch but the kind server insisted she bring me something else, so she brought me a bowl of Thai chicken noodle soup which was good but again, could have been hotter--it's soup after all and unless it's gazpacho or vichyssoise, serve it hot please. Also, when branching out into Asian soups, go for rice or buckwheat noodles and not not egg noodles. This place has real potential but could afford to pay attention to these few points: 1. If you allow your cook to have facial hair (braided goatee) please make them wear a facial hair net. This drives me nuts when restaurants do not think this is important. 2. Don't allow employees to come to work in shorts and a cut off t-shirt. This isn't Mel's Diner and you're trying to attract a whole different customer. It's certainly not attractive when I can see the guy's arm pit hair. 3. Make sure your kitchen staff serves hot food. This is Culinary 101 and takes little effort to make sure your food temperatures are right. That sausage gravy should be piping hot even if the hash browns weren't. Doesn't matter how homemade or how fresh your ingredients are if the kitchen basics are practiced every time. 4. Train the staff on all aspects of the food. Your Spirit clearly is trying to establish itself as a more upscale eatery and it's part of the way there. They should be able to answer questions about ingredients and have actually tried every menu item. This is the difference between a better class of food and Big Boy just down the street. 5. Get the website up and running with the menu posted. You've been open far too long to still have the "Under Construction" thing going on. People with tree nut and peanut allergies beware. Many menu items contain nuts. Our server was excellent about checking on certain menu items and even told the cook to wash the pan before he made my son's food. This was super cool. I have a redemption visit scheduled for October.
