This is an instance where I would give zero stars if I could. We stopped in, looking for a burger and beer on a hot summer day. Sat down in a booth right across from the bar...the bartender stood not 20 feet from us, saw us, turned his back on us, and went on watching his hunting show on the television over the bar. The bartender didn't acknowledge our presence, let alone ask us if he could get us a drink, or let us know a server would be over soon (never saw a server come into the section while we were there-even though a man and his young son were finishing a meal in the booth next to us and another couple of folks walked in and sat down). We left after 5 or 10 minutes of being completely ignored. Later in the day, a friend told us she'd been by the place earlier in the day and noticed they were offering "salamon" as a special on their A-frame chalkboard out front-so she did a little editing on the sign. We ended up going down the street to another place where we were immediately greeted, served with a drink, and had a decent bar burger. We won't be back to the Riverside.

Beware of this place. They served rotten carrots, spoiled, slimy, disgusting. We couldn't finish our food as I quickly had to spit out the rotten food. We told the waitress and she said That's why you should have gotten the green beans. She tried to discount the meal 1.50( yes one dollar fifty) but the problem was the spoiled food was touching our other food. They tasted like they had been in the trash for days. We told the manager you can't serve rotten food to customers and he gave us 5 bucks off. Never again

Great lunch special. Whitefish sandwich with fries for 7 bucks. The staff was super friendly and you can sit outdoors on the patio if you like. Madison our server who is a Michigan State student could not have been any friendlier! We returned the second day for lunch and had the blackened fish sandwich and it too was very good. We did not get Madison this time as our server, but this young lady was equally friendly. I would recommend this to any of my friends!

Always get Hawaiian pizza. Always pleased. Service is sometimes slow but seems more so at busier times so understandable

Hard to say if this place has changed hands because of the other poor reviews, but we stopped in for some lunch on a Thursday. Had the pizza special, and the pizza was terrific. Service was good (we sat at the bar). Our bartender made us a couple of good margaritas with a nice pour! We had mentioned to the bartender that we were getting married the following day, and she and another waitress (maybe manager?) surprised us with a wonderful dessert.

Stopped in the other day with a large party. Had GREAT steaks, perfectly cooked. Drinks were amazing and the perfect level of alcohol. Looks like they are starting to redecorate for summer as a waitress was telling us about their new tiki hut theme. Only a few servers on for a full restaurant, but no complaints on anything, they ran their butts off!

Just don't go here. Ever. Never. Our table was given away to someone else after waiting for over 20 minutes (they just had to "clean it up quickly.". Eventfully we sat after a much longer wait. The waitress couldn't multi-task which made our stay over 2 hours for a quick dinner. Food wasn't great. Ladies room was dirty.

Service: slow Beer: good Food: French onion soup was delicious, the basic burger was also pretty decent. This spot definitely needs you to have time to wait around, but not bad.

Wasn't even able to eat here. After we were seated, we waited fifteen minutes and were not even acknowledged by the wait staff. We got up and walked out, none of the staff even noticed. Very disappointing, the dining room was not even full up.

Went for a late lunch. My father in law had soup and salad. An hour later he is puking his guts out on the side of the road. (I was driving) Now he is miserable and our family evening is ruined. I'm pissed.

Good for a cold beer but don't eat there. Last time we left after the food was served and so did a few other tables. I believe the cooks quit a few hours before we arrived. They apologized and didn't make us pay. So we went to the blue water inn and had a good burger and fish&chips.

Good burgers & deep fried pickles. Always the busiest place in town on a Saturday night. Love the outside deck overlooking the river. Sweet waitresses:)

How utterly disappointing this place was. We stopped after a long day at the beach and wanted nothing more than to sit on the deck outside and have a beer and a burger. We were seated outside and left to sit there for the better part of 10 minutes. Finally someone came out and told us that they were no longer serving food on the deck. we were shown to a table inside. We ordered two burgers done medium. The server told us that all burgers were being cooked medium-well because the restaurant was so busy. They had to cook our food longer in order to save time? After getting our beers we noticed that people were being seated outside and having their orders taken...and were getting food!! When i brought this to the attention of our server she apologized and said that there would be a DJ later in the evening and they were stopping outside food service. Even as these words were leaving her mouth MORE people were being sat on the deck with menus. At that point we decided to just pay for our beers and leave. I let our server know that while our main reason for leaving was the food/no food deck debacle we were also disappointed that we couldn't get the food we where paying for cooked the way we wanted it. She got defensive and said that it was policy that customers would get medium-well burgers on holiday weekends (it was not a holiday weekend). I said "i'm pretty sure it's not a holiday weekend. She let me know that there was a rib festival down the street, which somehow qualifies as a holiday. I'm pretty sure no one was leaving the rib fair and heading to this place to order burgers. and if they were, they certainly were not showing up in the droves that would cripple a kitchen to the point of not cooking burgers to the customers liking. aaaaaaaaaaaanyway...... We will never return to this place.....

Last year the fishv during Lent was great. It was 3 fish fillets with fries for $8.99. This year it is sad. 3 little pieces of fish and some fries. It could have been from Gordons. Slow service and inattentive staff.

This place was terrible. We went up there tonight to get some burgers and sit outside. Well the first thing we noticed was the number of flies all around. It was no surprise when I looked around the tables. There was food all over the ground and pieces of seafood on the ground. We ordered the french onion soup which was decent, except it had way too much cheese on it. We also order burgers and got the kids chicken strips. The meal came out after a very long wait. The burger was just a frozen patty and they put them on pretzel buns. One issue is the pretzel buns were twice the size of the frozen patty. Secondly, my bun tasted moldy. My wife looked at hers and the bun has fuzz all over it. Come on how do you miss that? My burger wasn't cooked all the way and the kids chicken strips weren't done either. Not something you want to mess with when the kids are 1 and 3. Everything was packaged food. While we were there, I watched one couple get their seats and then after about 15 minutes of being ignored they finally got up and left. I had to practically beg to get another pop. We probably left with 3/4 of our food untouched, what a waste. I can't believe I paid for that meal, $30 for a bowl of soup and some french fries that were super greasy. This by far is the worst meal I have had at a restaurant. The best part of the night was leaving, going home and getting the kids something to eat at our house. I guess it was an expensive lesson, don't ever go there to eat. This place is a garbage dumb and should be closed down.

Who puts a flat screen tv behind a hanging lamp? Twice? There was no room at the bar at the Roadhouse, so we sat at a booth in the restaurant section to try and watch the football game this weekend. We couldn't actually see the full screen in any direction because all of the tv's were behind lamps. Wtf. Why don't they take an annoying knick knack (surfboard, flamingo, etc) down and put them on a wall for people to actually see? We ordered 2 apps; fried pickles and pretzel sticks. The fried pickles were below average and the 'honey mustard' that was served with the pretzels was actually Dijon. Mustard fail. At 9pm the DJ started with his woodsy beats and full on light show... in the dining room, with families' still eating dinner. We were covered in laser lights trying to finish our meals to get the hell out of there. The waitress wasn't friendly and it took a while to find her to get the bill. In fact, I had my coat on and was walking out when she finally showed up and yelled (over the woodsy beats) 'oh you're leaving?'

At the advise of family in Harbor Beach, we ventured from WI to the Cheeseburger Festival yesterday(11 Aug 12). Being a Harley Davidson enthusiast, We had to stop at the Riverside Roadhouse. They were expectedly busy but not frantic. Our Server, Patsy, was attentive and took time to have fun with us even though she was movin fast to take care of all the customers. We of course had burgers. At her suggestion, I had the Bourbon Burger. Now that was awesome! Patsy, you can suggest winners to me any time!!!!! Thanks for a great visit and experience! We will be back.... Dave Retired, U.S. Army

Flys everywhere! Chicken tasted like charcoal and was very dry. Waitress was like 12 years old. Everything in that place is out dated. Won $7 from the pull tab machine. Only bright side of my experience.

Hmm I don't know about the other reviews but my 2 visits this past weekend were great. Prompt service and a very very good bar burger. Char broiled and very very tasty. The Sunday morning buffet was spectacular. $13.99 for the usuals plus all homemade cheesecakes, bread pudding and all you could stuff crablegs. I know they lost money on my friend and me today. Service on both visits was spot-on. I just might drive up next Sunday for brunch again.

Expect slow service from the floor or the bar and food that's just OK. It's one of the only games in town so options are limited, you'll have to suck it up. At least they had Oberon!

Drove by here while on a trip to visit the lake. We were all hungry and decided it looked like as good of place as any. We were seated in the near empty restaurant. This was strange because it was prime lunch time (noon on a Wednesday). The waitress took our drink and food orders. A few minutes later, we hear another waitress mention the specials for another table. They sounded great, but we weren't offered any. The place felt rather dirty as there were a small family of flies/bugs flying around our table. The food was decent and cheap, probably the only saving grace. If given a choice, we probably would go elsewhere next time.
