Best Olive Burger I have had in GR - to date. Their burgers are fantastic in general - and great "chips". Some might scoff at the price of the burger (around $10) - but I'm telling you - its filling (1/3 pound) and has all the taste. Its simply worth it. Small bar / restaurant in a small town - but has a great vibe and extremely welcoming / warm business owner and staff. It is just a really fantastic place. Cannonsburg is just a cool little village and this is certainly worth a drive outside of GR to try - at least once. But for me - it is a place I routinely go back to. Highly recommend.

I visited this place many years ago, but couldn't recall too much about it. I just went again with my wife and a couple of friends. It was a lot busier than I remember - and much louder. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, and so hung out at the bar. My wife and I stood there waiting to be noticed by the bartender. When he did notice us and asked for our order, an older guy behind the bar came over and dismissively told him another couple had been there first (they snagged chairs before we did, but we had actually been at the bar waiting longer than them. We just didn't shove other folks out of the way to sit down as they had...) Other than the not-so-friendly old guy behind the bar, the service was decent. The beer selection was so-so. The real selling point of this place is the food. Even after the off-putting encounter at the bar, I have to admit the food was better than I expected. The house-made tater tots with artichoke dip were outstanding - not greasy like so many other places. We also got the "Pub Pickle", which was actually a pickle, accompanied by Swiss cheese and prosciutto and wrapped in a fried egg roll. Excellent! One of my friends got the pulled pork and another got the biscuits and gravy special - both were delicious (they had large portions and knowing my stomach is much like they black hole of Cygnus X-1, offered me a portion each.) I got the olive burger for myself and found it to to be very good as well. Bar: no where to wait if seats taken, meager selection Service: decent, except for the rude, old guy and the wait time for seating and food Food: really good. I'll try coming back at a less busy time to reassess the experience

Went here for the first time last Saturday night. I had the Coby steak and my wife had the London broil salad. Oh my god, what a great meal we had. My steak was one of the best tasting steaks I have ever had. My wife was just nuts about the London broil. We will definitely be back. I have got to try the bluegill basket.

Full disclosure, my boyfriend and I only visited Honey Creek Inn because I won two free entrees. But wow, we were really glad we went, and we will certainly be back! We went in thinking we would get two free entrees, and were planning on buying an appetizer and drinks. When we got our table after a short wait at the bar, we were told that we would be getting a free appetizer and two dinner specials. It was in March so the specials were Irish-themed. We got smoked mackerel pate for our appetizer, salads before dinner, and lamb chops and salmon which were both cooked perfectly. The service throughout was fantastic. We had both ordered a couple of beers during dinner. When we were finishing up, we asked for the bill for our drinks, and we were informed that everything had been taken care of. We were shocked, and then our server said, "I'll be right back, we have a dessert for you to take home." Can you say outstanding customer service?! I sent a message to the chef thanking him personally and he apologized profusely for not being able to come out and introduce himself (it was packed in there!). I will definitely be going back. I wanted to eat every single thing we saw coming out of the kitchen. I need to try one of their dry-aged steaks!

The black and blue steak salad is the best meal I've had ever forever. Love the location and vibe of this place, too. Keep on rockin, honey creek inn.

I have visited The Honey Creek Inn 3 times now. Each time I have been impressed with the variety of food offerings and quality. If you are looking for a unique dining experience with American and other interesting cultural offerings - this is worth a visit. It is smaller and seating is limited so you may want to be mindful of the "busy times".

There is not one reason not to love this place. Great atmosphere, great people, great food. It's got all the characteristics of a great restaurant. This is one of the few places that has smelt, sardine sized fish with a different taste. I highly recommend going here.

I will leave this because Don, the owner of the Honey Creek, got a bunch of us. April fool. Most of what is written below is the April Fool. They did replace the lighting and refinished the floors but everything else is about the same. I haven't been that "gotten" in a lot of years. Thanks Don. Food is still very good. We have always enjoyed the Honey Creek. But as with all good things they change. If you don't go tonight or tomorrow 28th or 29th of March your next visit will be different. On March 30 Chef Robert Irvin and crew will be filming a Pilot for a NEW show "Restaurant Remake" or something like that. On Sunday and Monday they will gut the place and start over. On Tuesday at 3:00 they will reopen as something else. Tonight the party I was with had the Bluegill basket, Chicken Liver basket and the ladies had the lamb wrap gyro. Food was very good and plenty of it. It will be interesting to see if chef Robert can make the Honey Creek a bigger hit that it already is.

It was very good. We went on a busy Thursday night. We were seated fairly promptly, even though the place was packed. Nice selection on beer on tap. Had the Sam Adams Octoberfest which tasted fresh and good. Thursday night has the ribs special, which we shared. The ribs were excellent. They were accompanied by a yam (which we usually do not eat, but this was tasty.) and a really good corn dish. The corn bread was the only sad part as it was quite dry and not that flavorful. We also shared the Mediterranean pasta, which was pretty good. The side salad that came with it was delicious. Service was friendly and prompt. We'll be back :)

I've heard many stories about this place and finally had the opportunity to experience it myself. Went a little later on a Saturday night so the wait wasn't so bad. I was impressed with the wide range of menu options; Seafood, Bar Food, Steak to Pad Thai. There was even a number of Vegetarian and Gluten Free options. I started with a wedge salad which was Chicago steakhouse worthy. The Grist Mill Kielbasa, homemade and apparently a local favorite, lived up to the hype. I ordered the truffle fries as a side simply because they HAD truffle fries. This place is highly recommended and worth going out of your way to visit. Service was friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable and by all accounts, worthy of the praise it gets.

Honey Creek is pretty great. Wonderful selection of beers are always on tap and a great selection of just very good homemade comfort bar food. Nothing fancy here at all. Everything is wood from ceiling to floor. It always seems a little too crowded and warm, but it works somehow. Our server always seems a little too busy but is always friendly and helpful. I guess its just a small local place and you have to take it for that. Props for always keeping up with great beers, though. The specials have always been very good as well.

Locally owned and operated. Tremendous value for the quality of meal that is served. There is no pretentiousness here, just a very down to earth staff and amazing food. My wife and I loved to come here on date nights. There is normally a wait and it can be a bit loud, but you can't beat this place for a great meal at a local joint!

Always a place that can be counted on! Great service and even better food. Get there early, can be a bit of a wait, but worth it.

I'm sorry but I've tried 3 times. I just don't get why people come here, because it sure isn't the food. The food is rushed to your table either overcooked (hamburgers) or undercooked (mac n cheese) so you hurry up and get out because their venue is too small. Mixed drinks? Well I don't know, they look like they have a full bar but they are known for their fancy wines and beers I guess. Asking for a mixed drink was like pulling teeth. Service is hot and cold. Peanut shells on the floor, to me, represents scuminess, and is very 1970's. If you are NOT a foodie, this place is perfect to meet friends and drink wine, and there are plenty of other people like you there and I respect that. For me, I'm taking a pass.

The best food in the area, bar none. Really. Trust me on this if you get a bad meal complain : it's never happened to me! Arrive early later in the week. This is real food. Chain junkies need not attend.

Prompt service, good food, good beer, and Cannonsburg is just a nice, quaint little village to visit. However,in a tiny place with terrible acoustics; when there's a half-drunk dipshit in there, who has no self-awareness that he is being extremely loud and obnoxious, it takes away from the experience. My dad is very hard of hearing and even he made a comment about how raucous this clown was.

We have been dining at the Honey Creek Inn at least once a month for over 20 years. Food and service are consistently top notch. We've never had a bad meal at the HCI. Yes, the place is small, and you may have a wait if you don't get there early, but that's because it has a large and loyal clientele. (Do you really want to spend time in a place where there are always lots of open tables?) Bluegill basket, ribs and artichoke crumb whitefish are great. Always interesting local beers on tap. Just a fun neighborhood pub with good food, at reasonable prices, and a great wait staff.

2 words: Olive Burger Michiganders love their olive burgers, and at the Honey Creek Inn, you'll know why. Delicious, cooked the way you want it, with a thick olive mayonaise and a mountain of fries. The homemade kielbasa is also delicious. The atmosphere is homey and welcoming, and it is a gem in a tucked away community less than 30 minutes from Grand Rapids. A great place for lunch or stop by on your way out to the countryside - it's a pleasant drive. The owner is very involved in the community, and that's a plus in my book.
