Wow! We were looking for a Chinese take out restaurant with halfway decent. What we found was really great! The food is so good, even my seven year old son, a really picky eater; cleaned up! Get the sweet and sour chicken or the sesame chicken, but bring a big appetite, cause the portions are huge. Two adults and two kids ate just two entrees and we will have leftovers for tomorrow.
Believe it or not- this is THE BEST SPOT AROUND FOR BREAKFAST! They are a American/Chinese restaurant that makes the best country style breakfast I've had. Their Skillet Breakfast is a staple for me and be sure to ALWAYS get the homemade toast. They make their own bread and it is delicious. Don't think that Fortune Chef is just a breakfast spot - they can make everything from a great burger to Kong Pao Chicken to a salad! We really enjoy having this little treasure so close to home. Take out is always a great option if you are a local- they do a wonderful job of wrapping things up to stay safe and warm.
This is my go to for Americanized Chinese food. I love the good. Big portions and made fresh to order. I love the chicken dishes. Moo goo Gai pan is excellent!! Egg rolls are perfect and crisp. I really like the Chinese veggie soup, it's simple, yummy, and nice on a cold day. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed. It doesn't look like much, but it's been a local favorite since it's opened.

The decor was modern and nice. Upon arrival the waiter was very friendly, but ordering process not explained and he wasn't very tentative (never refilled water, rarely came near table to be flagged down, wasn't clear when explaining things). The food was good overall. Good variety on the menu. The chicken tempura and veggie tempura were delicious- light and crisp. One member of the party had a sushi burrito. They offered different flavored soy paper wraps. The size was bigger than Taco Bell burrito, smaller than chipotle burrito. Apparently it was very good. Prices were pretty standard for the area and not overly expensive. Aside from the lacking waiter, my only real complaint was the seaweed wrapping in the rolls. I eat sushi regularly and have had it at many sushi restaurants in the city. Never had a problem with the seaweed anywhere. At Haru the seaweed wrapping was so tough, it wasn't easy to chew. I literally started choking on the first piece because of it's toughness, and had to remove the seaweed wrapping from all other sushi. The soy paper on rolls were better, but when they weren't cut to the exact size of the bite, they got chewy as well.
This restaurant was located in a strip mall near Panera and Applebees. It's a very small restaurant which fits about 40 people. Interior is very modern and clean. Price wise it's a tad more expensive, but the food was delicious. We ordered two spicy tuna handrolls with fried shrimp tempura - very good! Dol sot bibimbop - ample amount of meat, veg and egg. Presentation of meal was excellent and you get a side of gochuchang sauce. Tip: leave rice in bowl for a few minutes to get extra crispy rice. This was $15....tad bit more expensive than Korean restaurants I have visited. I would definitely have it again. Only negative was our server - he never seem to be around. We needed an additional spoon or refills on our drinks and we had to wave him down. He did apologized for it. We felt bad for the table who sat down by us and he had forgotten about them and were easy to order.
Very modern, cozy restaurant with delicious sushi! We started with shrimp shumai which was a bit of a small portion- only 4 in the order. They were tasty, however, and came with a mildly spicy sauce. We had a roll with tempura shrimp, avocado, and crab salad, which was tasty and fresh. We also had the Fire Crunch roll, which had a nice portion of fresh, cubed spicy tuna along with eel and crunchy stuff (little pieces of tempura?)- this was also very good overall, although it was a touch salty for my taste. We shared one of the "burritos"- a large hand roll stuffed with fresh fish, avocado, tempura shrimp, lettuce and a spicy mayo. Sounds really busy, but it was well balanced and very hearty. To drink my wife had got green tea and I had iced green tea, which was hand made with matcha in a tea steeper; really nice and very tasty. The service was also good, as I embarrassingly spilled a large glass of ice water all over and my waiter was there in an instant helping me clean up and replacing my soggy napkins, plates, and chop sticks! I was very appreciative.

Will definitely come back! Atmosphere is very cool and definitely unassuming from the outside. Very rustic and northern michigan like, complete with moose antlers and bear skins on the walls. All of that is helpful in keeping little kids attention and they loved it also! Food was good, nothing spectacular but I didn't expect that. We came for breakfast so not sure how the lunch or dinner food is. Just a cool place that is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. Very friendly staff also!!
Located in the old Sam's Joint in Alaska/Caledonia, The Bowlegged Moose welcomed us in with open arms on Christmas Eve, but left something to be desired with the food. First, there was some confusion with the menu; we were given a lunch menu but based on everything we heard, their signature items (like the ribs) are on the dinner menu. Our server graciously agreed to take orders for several items off the dinner menu for our meal. Maybe it was these special orders that threw the meal off, but several plates came out cold, and needed to be reheated. The soup and salad came out with the meal instead of beforehand, causing other dishes to get cold. My husband's taco plate was incredibly salty but for the sake of time, he ate it instead of sending it back. All that being said, my Blu Moose burger with blu cheese and aioli was tasty and the Chicken Salad my sister in law ordered turned out to me a winner. My fries were on the lukewarm side but were otherwise nice, and a delightful surprise was when my burger came out on a soft, warm pretzel bun. I'd like to give the Moose another try when we have a smaller dinner party in hopes that the food quality matches the hospitality.
We stopped by for dinner now that they are open in the evenings. It's a big improvement over the old Sam's...clean, bright and cheerful. The menu has lots of options and both our meals were good. DH had the sausage sampler and said it was tasty. I went for a cheeseburger, since their Mackinac Island burger joint is so popular. I was not disappointed! Yum! Finally, the prices are very reasonable. We will be back! Update: have now eaten here several times. Can recommend the Rueben fritters appetizer (yum!) and also the half BBQ chicken dinner. Overall, it's a good neighborhood solution when you don't feel like cooking. Not fancy but good, basic food.

This location is convenient for us. The food is always good even if it the same as every other Applebee's. Look like the just changed the menus to a bit of a nicer selection of entree.
My family and I eat here a lot! We always have great service and our food is always prepared exactly how we wanted it. Sometime we do have to wait for a few min but never over 10 min. We have a fairly large family. We go on tue when the kids menus are cheaper that way they are more affordable which is a great option for families with many kids as we do!
We enjoy eating here and service is always good. Spending time together is enjoyable here to , we like to watch a game as well. Like too try new menu items. It is just a good time every time.

I have yet to be disappointed at Uccello's of Caledonia. While the majority of the seating is in the sports bar area of the restaurant, their food is nothing like a sports bar I have ever Tonight I had the ribeye steak for the first time. It was cooked and seasoned to a perfect medium. My wife had the pasta with tomato cream and Sicilian style chicken added on the recommendation of our waitress Stephanie (who was excellent by the way). Her recommendation was spot on, and we ordered a second to bring home to our kids. This is happily becoming our regular spot for any occasion.
Don't use the call ahead seating doesn't work! Arrived on time and found out they gave our table away.
Great pizza, good service. The atmosphere is a little weird, since it's a pizzeria combined with a sports lounge. I don't know if I'll come back but if they do takeout I might pick up a few pizzas.

I've been here a few times they have a good variety drinks and smoothies I enjoy. I also got baked oatmeal one time for breakfast it was really good. My husband and I spent a little time there one Friday evening and listened to live music. I enjoyed a smoothie and he had a flight of beers.
I went there today and had a a beer. At least that's what they said it was. They named it Silver Fox. They need to add a third name, urine. An hour later I still have the terrible after taste.
I love beer and I also love the Michigans growing craft beer scene. With so many options to choose from, it's difficult to find something that really stands out and carves it's own niche. Essential Bean has done precisely that. Will you be able to pick up woman, take designer drugs and dance all night here? Absolutely not and that is exactly what they are going for. A very mellow place where you can enjoy a great beer or latte with a friend. And the beer is great! The IPA alone is worth the trip. Really something special. Everything was really good. Service, staff, cleanliness, and the list goes on and on. Even met the owners and they are really nice. Did I mention the beer? Essential Bean is a definite must. Truly surprised by this place and man is the beer good!

Called to ask how long the wait time was for a table for two and was told, "I don't know" I asked him again thinking maybe he didn't hear my question and he again told me "I don't know" but this time said he was a "kitchen guy." So I asked if there was anyway I could talk to someone in the front of the house and I was told no, and that IF I came in, just know we are extremely busy right now... I've worked in the restaurant industry my whole life. No excuse for this. It's 2015 learn how to route your calls properly.
The food was OK Uccellos is a better choice. They used canned mushrooms which I personally am not a fan of. The staff was not very friendly. I probably won't be back for a while.
I have been here for dinner one time and dessert one other time. I enjoyed the food and the staff was friendly as well.

Nice fresh selection of entrees. Good options for appetizers.
Ate here on a whim. We saw it from the road and it looked like a good place so we stopped. The concept sounds cool. We didn't get anything that came with a fire rock but the food was pretty good. My wife had the burger and I had the perch sandwich. The burger was seasoned really well, however undercooked. She ordered well and got med-well. My sandwich was great. I had a hard time finishing everything so the portions are good too. The server seemed a bit distracted. And it took a little longer to take our order and get our drinks (water) than it should have because they were not busy. Overall this seems like a good place. It was clean and it smelled great when we walked in. I would definitely give it a second try given the opportunity.
Had the ahi tuna. It was great. Five of my girlfriends and I decided to try a new place and all came here tonight for dinner and drinks. Food was good, even though the server didn't ring in one of our dinners right so we didn't get the halibut but an additional tuna dish. At 7pm, three of the ladies stalls didn't toilet paper and the bathrooms were TRASHED! Water all over counters, broken soap container, paper all over the floor. We told the manager and he blamed it on the hostesses. The five of us walked out the door, past the manager who was heavily involved with chatting up the hostesses and we didn't get one goodbye, thanks for coming in, etc. from the three of them. It was strange. Our table was about a $400 sale. The tuna was great. We likely wouldn't come back. Service and management not so great. Clean the bathrooms!!!
