Very friendly staff, always clean, great atmosphere. The shakes here are amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Would recommend to a friend, and would definitely come again: :^)

If you're craving something sweet, this is the place in the area. Everything about this place is old fashioned. The decorations are very cute and well fitting with the theme. The staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. I went with a group of my friends and we all got different desserts. I got the malt and my other friends got different flavored sodas. We all enjoyed our drinks. You get your money's worth when it comes to portions. the only down side is that the hours to the place are very random. Make sure to call in before you head over. Right now, they are closed until April.

I wish that I could give this place a higher review, but that is not the case. Yes, I agree that the lovely fixtures and interior give this place a nostalgic Americana feel, but there was one glaring issue that all this couldn't fix; the lady working behind the counter smoking in the doorway and the smell blowing back into the shop. I'm sure that the ice cream and every other sweet they serve there is delectable and delicious, but the harsh nicotine assaulting my nose ruined the whole affect. Sad thing is that I am a local (not some whiny out of towner)and this makes it hard to support local businesses when this kid of stuff happens.

My kids LOVE this old fashioned/ retro spot. We stop by every and then and the kids like to sit at the counter to eat our ice cream. The cake batter is everyone's favorite!

(Originally posted 7/21/2010) Take a trip back memory lane with this place. All original Post-WW II fixtures to serve up the "phosphates" of your childhood and the sweets you want today. The Sweet Shoppe serves: drinks, ice cream concoctions (everything from cones to almost anything you can think of), home made chocolates, and yep, even real food. By the way, the food is awesome as well as the "sweets" offered here. Was glad the place was open when we visited the town and will definitely go back. The food and desserts were excellent as was the service. The place is a MUST GO TO if you are ever in the area. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of what is served is as good as any place you are going to find in the area. Even if you are too young to remember the old "Soda Fountains" and "phosphates", stop at this place and see what your parents and grandparents compare today's soda offerings to. You will definitely be glad you did!
