I love a good dive bar, and this place fits the bill! If you frequent the Irish Hills area, you know that there are not many choices to stop for a bite and a brew, but this place has great location (on the lake) and fair food and drinks. They had a good selection of beer on tap, and a well stocked bar. Prices seemed a tad high, but not outrageous. My husband ordered a burger and fries. He liked the burger, but said that the fries were really bland. I ordered potato skins. They were almost burnt, but I like that, so they suited me just fine. A man (who I believe was Jerry) kept asking if I wanted ranch or sour cream, and looked at me like I had grown three heads when I declined. Service was a little slow, but not so much that it concerned me. I could tell that the regulars got better service, but that doesn't bother me either. Over all, I really enjoyed the place. I'd come back again.

Over, way over priced. Management rude to paying customers. Appetizers should never be the cost of a meal! Never going back.

I've frequented Jerry's for the last 12 years, so it pains me to write this, but Jerry, you got some work to do... My wife and I live nearby, and she is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, so I can tell you that the bad service is not limited to out of towners. Our experiences over the past year have been abysmal, sometimes taking up to 2 hours just for a simple meal. The food is OK... basic bar food, don't expect anything else. The drinks are overpriced. Jerry's sole redeeming quality is simply its location on Wampler's lake. Why try when you are the only bar with a big waterfront deck? People go there anyway, and if you want somewhere to get drunk near water, maybe meet some other drunk people, its as good as any. For anything else, I would avoid it.

warm beer!?? mediocre food. The waitress said the fish was not local, Jerry said oh yeah, it is hmmm. Great setting, right on the lake. There was a loudmouth a--hole in the place, Jerry should have told him to pipe down, since it is a family place. I would go again for drinks and to hear a band. Skip the food

One of the best calzones i have ever had. Family owned and operated. Service was very good. Enjoyed the flavor of the other dishes we ordered. Would have given 5 stars but had some items that were dried out from sitting under the heat lamp too long. Neat place on the lake.

We came here after the nascar race because we heard it was a Brooklyn staple. However aside from the great views and pretty sunset I don't see the appeal of this place. Our server was mediocre and their menu was very pricey for what you got. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich that came with a bag of potato chips (how generous of you thank you.) You would think when paying $10 for a sandwich that was literally a bun with two scoops of pulled pork and 2oz of coleslaw the establishment could afford to give you French fries, nope, not here, fries were another $2 or $2.50, very laughable. My friend ordered the bbq chicken dinner, a drumstick and 2 wings, a scoop of Mac and cheese was what he got for $13, shameful. There have got to be better places in Brooklyn where you won't have to overpay for small meals. I strongly suggest you find one of those instead of going here.

I love Jerry's! Great food, fantastic service, and the best indoor and outdoor atmosphere in the area, possibly the state. Don't mind these crybabies that complain about the service. The place is bustling so you're not going to have your hand held. Quality. Service. Outstanding experience all around. And the bartender is quite easy on the eyes ;)

Oh Jerry. This place is such a staple on Wampler's Lake it is hard to imagine a trip out here without a boat ride over to Jerry's. Jerry himself is a cool cucumber who always has a smile for his guests (and a joke or two for the regulars) and the servers are all friendly and efficient. The food is mostly mediocre, but who cares when the beer is cold and you're sitting in the shade staring out at a beautiful lake?!

It pains me to write a bad review about Jerry's Pub, but this visit was incredibly bad. It was a Sunday evening and the sun was setting. There wasn't a hostess at the door to seat us, so we found a table ourselves( many to choose from as it wasn't busy). It took our waitress at least 10 minutes to ask us if we wanted something to drink. We both ordered iced tea and water. After about 10 more minutes she brought 1 water and 2 iced teas(which were more Luke-warm than iced). I ordered crab cakes and the Hubby ordered a steak. After about 40 minutes the waitress comes by and tells us that another waitress took our order so the kitchen was going to have to make another and it would take 15 minutes. Half hour later, our food arrived. The steak was dry and crab cakes were over-cooked. We had to hunt down the waitress to get the check. The only thing good about this experience was the view.

Terrible food. Service was okay. Great view. But that's not enough to make up for the lack of items on the menu and horrible food. There was so many people that recommended this place and we were excited to try it but it was extremely disappointing. I would recommend the beach bar in Clark lake if you're looking for the same ambiance.

Idyllic views from the back patios. Look over the lake and watch the chipmunks play while you enjoy the sweet genuine service and good food. Try the barbecue. The brisket is especially good. Moist in the middle and crispy on the ends.

I have a friend who has a lake house nearby and we decided to meet here for dinner a few nights ago. My friend was already seated and I entered the restaurant, making my way to the table. I was basically accosted by this older lady who was apparently a sad excuse for a hostess. Once I explained to her that my friend was already seated, she let me go. As for the waiter, he was very attentive and I have absolutely no complaints about the quality of service he provided. The food was absolutely atrocious, there are no other words. Initially, when I looked at their website, I was lured into believing that they have some semblance of fine dining. Completely wrong. There wine list was minuscule and not of high quality. As for the food, I got the "famous" crabcakes. Both my friend and I got salads and they were plain jane iceberg with some cheese, carrots, store bought croutons, and maybe a cucumber slice. My dinner consisted of four overly deep fried "crab cakes" which in actuality were lumps of dough with some fake crab meat mixed in and a few red pepper pieces. The accompanying vegetables were that overcooked green bean and carrot medley from Gordon Food Service. Overall, horrible.

Ah, I have so many memories from this pub in Michigan. so many firsts... getting drunk being one of them. Anyway, about the pub, it's in a great location. The beers are awesome, the servers are great. It's generally open late. Got on-the-house drinks once in a while. It's a great place to go hang out with friends. They have pool, pinball, and the doll-picking machines (won a doggy doll for the first time) They even do karaokes here!

I stopped in here two different evenings for dinner with a group of 9 before and after the Tough Mudder at MIS. The first night we all shared a few pizzas and had some beers. The pizza was good but the crust was a little over cooked. Our waiter was really nice and helpful including when it came to splitting the bill. The only negative the first night was the attitude we got from the "regulars" up front when we walked in with empty beer bottles looking for a place to throw them. Not a huge deal really. The second night we all got burgers which aside from being overcooked (a theme?) were tasty. We were impressed by the beer selection but completely let down by the service and extremely rude waitress. After sitting at the table for 20 minutes without anyone from the waitstaff stopping by, one of our group went up to the front to ask a hostess to send someone over. 10 minutes later an older woman came by and with a dripping attitude said "I guess I'll serve you". The rude attitude continued the rest of the time we were there including eye rolling and general grumpiness every time we made a request. Add to that the monumental task of "having" to split the bill and the night was complete. Overall the food was mediocre and the rude waitress the second night overshadowed the helpful waiter from the first night. It seems like there are three level of service here: the highest for the year-round locals, the middle for the seasonal locals and the lowest for the out of towners. Jerry's is the only game in town and treats visitors accordingly.

We have a cottage on a nearby lake in Onsted. We go to Jerry's whenever we are in town. Jerry is a nice old guy who makes it a point to come over and say hello, ask about the food etc. his one daughter works behind the bar and the other one waits tables. His son manages the kitchen. We have never had a bad meal here. The drinks are good, and they have the best of michigan craft beers. It is mainly bar food so don't go expecting like you're eating at the Chop House or the Gandy Dancer.

Every time we have been here the food has been solid if not remarkable. Service can get be a little spotty. Our last visit I had the chicken sandwich which was good and my wife had the BBQ pork sandwich. She said it was good. At first we got plenty of attention, but then some more well known locals sat down at the next table and getting attention of the waitstaff was more difficult. If you can get a patio seat, it is worth it, as the view is great.

After the race at MIS my buddy and I were exhausted, hungry, and even a little hungover after tailgating a few hours earlier. Luckily we happened upon Jerry's where the atmosphere is unmatched in the area. It's off the beaten path and feels like one of those "best kept secret" types of place. A stage, two bars- one inside and the other overlooking the lake outside, a volleyball net, televisions, and a dock for boaters. I ordered the chicken kabob with rice, bread, and hummus. My buddy ordered the cod with fries. Both of our meals were delicious. Prices weren't particularly cheap, I paid about $15 and my buddy $13, but the service was excellent. The servers and bartenders made me feel like a regular. I will absolutely be back after the August race.

I've been slacking on my Yelp reviews lately but felt compelled to give Jerry's Pub a good write-up due to it's lack of recent reviews. The Irish Hills area is not known for it's fine cuisine, and finding anything halfway decent is pretty difficult. After seeing their billboard on US-12, we looked up the website. The menu has several entrees, there are a few Michigan microbrews on tap, and the best part is the Tiki Bar by the lake. We had already eaten at a family get-together but stopped by the Tiki Bar to check things out. Having a good experience that night, we came here on purpose last night to try the food. I ordered the stuffed chicken, broccolini, and vegetable beef soup. The soup was definitely homemade and very tasty. The broccolini was not overdone and still held it's bright green color. My chicken was extra delicious, as it was stuffed with bacon and mozzarella cheese and sauteed with a light, flavorful white wine-butter sauce and crack salt. YUM! My husband ordered the black and blue rib-eye, which the waitress returned to say they ran out of. However, she offered to add the blue cheese topping at no extra charge to the other steak on the menu, which was less expensive. The steak was cooked to the correct temperature, and how can you go wrong with beef and blue cheese? Also delicious. The fries were freezer but still good. We found the entree accompaniment choices a bit odd because the vegetable of the day is included in the potato/rice group, not the salad/coleslaw/soup group. You would have to pay $1.00 extra to get the veg. of the day and a starch. Side note: The Tiki Bar only serves what they have behind the bar, which is less than what they have inside. The inside drink selection is available at the inside bar/tables or outside only if you get a table through the hostess. I will definitely return next time I am swimming out in that area.

Pretty much the only sit-down restaurant in the area. The food is a little pricey, but you can't beat the location right on Wamplers Lake. They have a good selection of drafts including Summer Shanty and Angry Orchard. The stuffed mushroom caps were really good.

Ohhhhh by the way the food was pretty good but service was unacceptable. I think it's time to look over your waitstaff.

Tried Jerry's for the first time. Jerry's is located on the lake so dining with a view of the lake was great. The chips were limp and the presentation was sub-par. Ate the famous ruben and it was good. The seafood others ordered was well presented and it was a surprise to see so many offerings. The best part of our experience was the service. The glasses stayed full and the hostess pieced together tables quickly to accomidate our group. I would still recommend Jerry's Pub because of the atmosphere and the service. I was guessing that if the specials were all sold out it must mean the food was that good.

Despite what others have written, Jerry's is NO REDNECK BAR. The food is top notch. And no, it is NOT expensive! Try their specialty...the Reuben Sandwiches that they sell by the hundreds. Fantastic. If you don't like Swiss cheese, they will switch it out for provolone for you. I love these guys. Domestic beer? Sure, they have the typical corn-based junk every place within a stone's throw of a major distributor has. But they do also offer Bell's Oberon in the summer, complete with orange slices. There is no other beer brand worth drinking, in my opinion. In summer, the fried perch is fabulous. Sit on the deck watching the sun set eating Michigan caught fish. OMG it does not get better than this! Their thin crust pizza is wonderful. But order it in the winter, next to the fireplace. It gets cold too fast outside. They also make great chowders and soups. ALWAYS look at the specials they have that day. Typically that is the thing to get, no matter what. Usually at least one of us will get the rueben just so we can have that Jerry's specific experience, though! We have been there on karaoke night (I believe it was Wed) and heard the locals sing their trademark songs, which was fun. The staff is always great and each time you come, you become more like family. It is a good 30 minutes from our home but it's worth it to sit on the lake and watch the boaters. It's a lot closer than our place 3 more hours away up north!

Ahhh home sweet home. I grew up steps away from this place, and you will be hard pressed to find good nightlife (read: none) in the area. If ever you happen to find yourself in the Irish Hills, (if you don't know then you don't know) this place is a must. Cheap drinks, pool, pinball, nascar on the jumbo tv, and frequent mustache-rock bands like "Secret Weapon" blend together to create one kick-ass dive bar. Located right on Wampler's lake, you can drive your boat there dude...sweet. It's one of those places where everyone spins around on their stools to see who is coming in the door. Leave your metro gear at the door you city slicker, you're better off with either beach or hunting themed duds. Bring an appetite for domestic beers, hard shots, high fives and head-butts.
