We enjoy the Navajo Lounge - funky, casual ambience and full menu of options from pasta to burgers to salads to pizza. Salads are fresh and substantial - could be a meal. Pizza was a treat - would definitely order again and again. Nice selection of craft beer on tap - only wish there was a similar selection of wine by the glass. However, there is a good wine menu that offers some excellent values. We'll be back again and again :-)

Have eaten here many times. Its nothing memorable even at its best nights. After our last experience I'll never be back. I complained about a really gross bowl of soup I was served. It tasted and looked so old and had a really nasty texture. The waitress looked around and was like "everyone else seems to be liking it". She didn't offer to take it back or off the check or anything. My salad was also mostly shredded cabbage, yuck. So I left hungry and paid for a meal I wouldn't eat. The place tries to bill itself as fine dining on one side but it's really just a bunch of over priced mediocre deep fried seafood and cheap cuts of meat.

Really don't understand the few negative reviews. If I could give this more than five stars, I would. After entering we were met immediately by the maitre d' & seated upon our request to a booth even though they were near to closing. Although initially very quiet, with a few questions from us Ann, our server became very friendly & began to discuss the various dishes & specialties. Her service to us was absolutely lovely. By the end of the dinner, she was treating us like welcoming visiting cousins, so needless to say the service was great. Although they offer many wonderful fish & meat faire, we opted for Italian. We weren't disappointed... in fact, it was simply wonderful. My wife ordered the Chicken Carbonara, which was rich tasting and full of flavor. I ordered the Lasagna. Oh my gosh! I grew up with a wonderful Italian mother who was an incredible cook & Italian foods were a staple. D'Agostinos nailed it. This was homespun Italian cooking at its best. By the way, the portions were huge, so you're going to have leftovers for lunch the next day. We left there after closing & the chef came out from the kitchen to warmly greet us. Great service, great food, friendly and very reasonable. What more could you ask for? Can't wait to go back & try other dishes.

Maybe we were there on an off night. The bar was hopping, the restaurant had only a few other tables filled. Asked for a wine list and were told: "Tell me what you want", asked what kinds of Chardonnay and were told "We have a house". Asked what brand the house was, were met with a deep sigh, and the server left, went to the bar and came back with a wine list and asked to take our orders. We asked for a few minutes, were met with a sigh. After looking over the menu, the wine selection, and the plastic flowers we opted to leave. The server certainly was clearly not interested in us, the food, or anything.

Have been coming to Lake Michigan at least three times a year, often many more visits than that-since the late 70's! Have never been to this place and tonight I say-what the heck have I been missing???! Late dinner after watching a gorgeous sunset with my kids while on vacation. We have our favorites in this area but decided to be adventurous and we are so glad! Wait staff, Patty, seated us in the funky and kitschy bar area. Admittedly, we were hungry. Started with calamari-nothing fancy but tasty nonetheless. However- after the ribs, Italian sausage and tortellini Alfredo, three meat pizza, onion rings and the best onion soup I have had since an old French restaurant in Indy area closed - we were singing the praises of the chef and wait staff!! The food was delicious!! Wait staff superb-clear, concise, attentive but not intrusive. Picky son raved about the pizza, I still am remembering the onion soup. Dinner for four with appetizer and cocktails 90 bucks. Ah-mazing! Cannot wait to go back and try their specials. I'm a foodie and picky, and I thought it was good good good.

After Dana the owner had contacted me via email about our last visit we returned tonight for dinner service. We sat in the fine dining side and were very pleased with the atmosphere. Our server Anne was an "A+" waitress! She was so friendly and talkative. We absolutely loved her. We ordered chips and salsa and cheese sticks. The salsa was amazing and tasted so fresh. The cheese sticks were excellent and crispy! We had the 18oz Porterhouse cooked perfectly to medium and Tortellini (no peas, no ham, sub grilled chicken). I ordered red potatoes and cream of mushroom soup. Our meal was OUTSTANDING! Dana even sent out an order of his scratch made Eggplant Parmesan which was so tasty! Everything tonight was superb and we had the best service you could ask for! Dana came out and met us after our meal and was so apologetic for our last visit and super excited we gave D'agastinos a second chance. He paid for our entire meal tonight. All very nice people and glad we came back after talking to Dana! "A+ Visit!

Food and service are good, but more expensive than I expected for Mediterranean. Entrees range from $15-$40 ish, no soup or salad included. Should be $$$.

This place is awesome the menu is huge so much to choose from and everything I've ever tried is absolutely delicious! The staff is friendly and there's a dining side as well as a bar side. Enough room for everyone there is a pool table, pinball machine, even darts! Also they have daily specials and awesome martinis & margaritas! The prices are totally affordable the portions are perfect and it's definitely worth stopping by! Because this place is so amazing they're usually pretty busy so make sure you call and make a reservation you'll thank me later happy eating!!!

My family and I stumbled upon this place on our way back to Indiana. My wife had the Penne pasta, I had Chicken Parmesan, kids had pasta from kids menu. We all really enjoyed this food. The wait staff was attentive, and polite. The owner was memorable. It's not too often you can find a rstaurant where the owners heart is all into it. We thank you for that. The decor is dated, but who the heck should Really care about that. The place was clean, the food was great. I understand in this day of age, ambiance seems to be more important. But, lipstick on a pig doesn't mean it's not a pig. Shouldn't it be about price, food quantity, quality of the food, and the service?? We were pleased of all of those attributes. We WILL be back when in the area.

Came for the Wednesday night burger basket. Inexpensive and tasty casual evening before heading back to NC. SO MUCH BETTER than crappy Smokin Woody's, just down the road. Lots of sports on many TVs. Loud but enjoyable!

The Navajo has been our go to place for dinner in Bridgman since I can remember. We like to sit on the bar side because it is casual. The have recently changed their beer tap with many more offerings of local microbrews. Everything on the menu is delicious. We especially enjoy the Prime Rib, Beer Steamed Shrimp and lake perch. The service can be extremely slow and there are several waitresses who really need to find another line of work. Most are very good, but they have a few that spoil it for everyone. Prices are reasonable and the weeknight specials are cheap and always good. When we go, we just plan on over an hour for dinner, sometimes two. So if you are not in a hurry, this place is worth a look.

My husband and I (20+ yr residents of SW Michigan) decided last minute to dine out on Saturday night and decided to try D'Agostino's, as we hadn't been there is who knows how long. We sat on the 'fine dining' side. The decor is terribly outdated and depressing. Server was slow and inattentive. My husband ordered a glass of Cabernet and because it was really sweet and unlike any Cabernet he's ever tasted, he had to ask if he'd received the right drink. Garlic toast wasn't really toasted, just kind of soggy. My calamari appetizer was so heavily breaded that I don't know if it really was calamari. Ribeye steak was definitely not restaurant quality and not cooked medium-rare, but I think that's hard to do with a 1/2" thick steak. My salmon was OK, but the vegetables were frozen! Frozen green beans and carrots in July at a restaurant! Seriously? Chocolate dessert was mediocre and the coffee, watery. The 'entertainment' was a guy sitting at a keyboard but we couldn't figure out if he a actually playing anything. His playlist included such hits as "Color My World" and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" with a Lawrence Welk twist and his singing is terribly off-key. Never again.

We come here often. I've been reading through the reviews and had to comment. I would agree the menu is rather large. Gordon Ramsay would not approve! We tend to stick to our favorites. Love the pizza, the perch basket ( not on menu, so ask for it) the Pow Wow burger and the Reuben. We try to go during the week when it is not as crowded. Busy nights the service can get slow. Always sit on the bar side, prefer the casual atmosphere. Sure it's dated and may not be "fine dining" but it's still one of our favorites to relax and enjoy a brew.

I've been coming to Bridgman for weekend getaways for about four years now. Last night was most first experience at Navajo's. I must say that it exceeded my expectations, although the menu is quite large, both my wife and I had a great meal, at a beyond reasonable price. Safe to say we will be back for a good meal and cheap drinks!

What a surprise! My wife and I were looking for a new place for dinner and decided to give D'Agostino's a try. The food and service were excellent. Great value for price paid. Another surprise is the pizza! Best around and super thin crust is available.

The manager has showed concern for my review and has contacted me. In the interest of the commitment of Yelpers I am leaving a 3-star review until I can re-visit the restaurant again with a client or clients in early June when I am back in Michigan. I had a few hiccups but being an engineer one data point outlier in statistics isn't always valid. Let's re-visit. This is the first review who has showed feedback whatsoever. I will contact the contrite and cordial manager and look forward to (UNANNOUNCED) re-visit. :-) I think very positively that other multi-million dollar outfits or chains are aloof and this is the only location to have a dialogue about a sincere Yelp. I am excited to visit in June.

Without question one of the worst restaurants I have ever gone to. Clueless when it comes to service. I don't understand how they stay in business.

Great place!! Every time I'm in town I come here and the food never let's me down. I've had the pecan crusted tilapia, the prime rib special and the baby back ribs.... All great!

We visit this restaurant as least once a month and love it! We sit on the bar side since it is more lively but the menu is now the same on both sides. Everything is excellent from the pasta to the fish. My favorites are the Tilapia and the Lasagna. You can play Keno and watch games on TV. We often have trouble getting a seat on Friday and Saturday nights but they will reserve tables if you remember to call!

Please note that this establishment has been reviewed a handful of times under a different name. It's also useful to note that my review differs from the others - read them and make your own decisions! yelp.com/biz/d-agostinos…

I went there on a Thursday night. It's an older Italian joint that has more of a bar feel to it. I ordered the Prime Rib and Perch. It was $15,99 and I thought it was very good. Maybe even a little surprisingly good. My friends got some steak special that they both seemed to enjoy. It was busy. I'm not sure there was even an open table. The place seemed clean. Parking was good. Lighting again felt more like a bar. Overall a decent place.

This review is for the Navajo Lounge. For anyone who doesn't know, D'Agostino's and Najavo Lounge are in the same building and this is a family owned and run place. This place is always at the top of our list for nights out in Bridgman when visiting from Chicago. We love the fried pickles and their homemade, hand tossed style pizza is great! It is not deep dish, nor thin and crispy crust and the sauce is slightly sweet. Everything is reasonably priced and they have good specials-on Thursday nights you can get $1 drafts! For all you other Chicago tourists, these $1 drafts DO NOT come in plastic solo cups-this is a 12 oz pour in a cold glass mug! Every time we visit the Navajo Lounge during dinner to late evening it's busy, if not full. Anyone who visits this place more than a few times knows that Toni is the best and friendliest server and if you ask any of the locals they'll agree. Barnaby is right about THAT server but almost all the other servers are very friendly and quick! Barnaby is not right about their food though...We eat all over downtown Chicago and we still love this place...If you had something mediocre you must have been at a different restaurant or maybe you were expecting it to be mediocre when you saw the price tag (low price)!

Great place for a beer and a pizza. Not yuppified like most places in harbor country. A good place to mix with the locals and get away from the FIPS - yeah you know who you are. We like to go there after hiking at Warren Dunes.

I was astounded reading some past reviews (2009) because our experience was "awesome, fantastic, exquisite". The quality of food was the best. The food was artisinal- a term overused and misused but which applies here. The pasta is imported from Italy, the sauces, the soups, the tiramisu, all handcrafted. I enjoy my food- I don't want to be distracted by boisterous noise, by television sets that don't allow me to experience the taste of the food. Here, the atmosphere was wonderful. The service was timely, knowledgeable, friendly without being intrusive. The minestrone soup was handmade- with all fresh vegetables hand cut. The potato soup was creamy with a hint of bacon. The lasagna was wonderful and at a price that I could not believe for the quality. The sea bass was beautifully done with a cajun sauce that enhanced the fish and did not overwhelm it. The sensitivity to flavors was remarkable as was the quality of all the food. It obviously is a blending of excellent quality with the craftsmanship and skill that makes the food artisinal. The prices are remarkably reasonable. WE drove 30 miles and will do it again and again. Oh yes, try the handmade tiramisu with it's lovely fusion of espresso and whipping cream... SO GLAD we found D'Agostino's!

The food is OK--average Italian. You get soup AND salad with your meal, which is really nice. Service was good, if a bit slow. The steaks and chops were probably a bit better than the pasta. The owners' son (I think) plays music on a Yamaha keyboard on the weekends. Straight out of The Wedding Singer. Love songs of the '70s and '80s performed in the style of the Doogie Howser theme song. People dance. I grew up in California and I haven't seen a place like this since 1987!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
