I didn't think it could get any worse at Bagger Dave's, but it did. After spending $70 on dinner, two of my kids went next door to DQ for ice cream while we waited for the bill. Our kids came back in with their ice cream from DQ and were told by the manager that they had to leave. We told our kids to wait with us while we wait for the bill to come. The manager came over and told us that we had to leave. In a half empty restaurant, this is not how you treat customers. When we voiced our displeasure with her about it, she threatened to call the police. Unbelievable.

The burgers are amazing here!! I especially like their turkey burgers. They are very juicy and flavorful. Then there is the list of items you can put on your burger. From fried eggs to guacamole - it gives you so many taste combinations. Be inventive .. Be daring!! You also have to try the fries, sweet potato chips and their homemade fountain drinks. The staff at Bagger Dave's is very friendly, welcoming and helpful so tip well!!

I have only been to the BD in Brighton, and it was great. So when I had a powerful craving for a BD burger, I looked up the one closest to me and traveled 9 miles one way to this BD in Bloomfield. Big mistake. I ordered a custom burger and filled out the little form. I absolutely hate onions, so I was sure not to check the onions box. They brought me a burger that I really wanted to eat, but it was smothered with sauteed onions. I sent it back, and they brought it back out a few seconds later with about half of the onions picked off and the other half still stuck there in the cheese. This just said to me, "we don't really care if you like your burger or not; we don't care what you actually ordered; we're too lazy to fix our mistake, so just shut up and eat it." I could have picked the onions off myself if that was what I wanted, but I wanted a burger that was not already flavored with stinky sauteed onion juice. Even if they had picked off every onion, it would still have tasted like onions. Someone with an allergy would get sick from that kind of laziness in the kitchen. I didn't eat it. I had the waitress take it off the bill, paid for my drink, tipped her (wasn't her fault) and left. This BD is a big disappointment and waste of time.

Drinks are priced right and it is a comfy spot but the last few trips were so disappointing. I ordered a chicken sandwich but couldn't eat it. It was obviously a frozen chicken "breast" that had no taste and was like chewing rubber. I can microwave frozen food at home. My favorite sweet potato chips were in one big greasy blob, not crunchy at all. Waitress was a sweetie but the manager avoided us like the plague. Food quality used to be good but now we are looking for a new spot.

I have never written a Yelp review but feel I need to for this place. We started coming here when it first opened as it's close to where we live. We'd meet friends every Wednesday and the first year was great (good food, service). In the last year, however, it's gotten quite bad - either the supplier for their food has changed or the cooks don't know what they are doing but the burgers are adaquate at best, the milkshakes are runny/thin, the fries are hit or miss and the salad I order every week often changes the plate/size it's served on. There's just no consistency and when your menu is basically burgers, salad and a chili, it should not be hard to mess it up. What has really disappointed us though is the removal of Keno, the train that only works sometimes (our 3 year old loves to watch it move around) and, the biggie, the now TWICE credit card fraud we've had to report from this place. The first time our credit card was "stolen" we chalked it up to he new system the waitstaff used (PDA devices) and when Ic alled the manager to report it, he was nice, but only told me to bring in my receipt, my credit card statement and my fraud report and he'd "see what he could do." Not worth it for our $35 bill and just had my credit card company handle. Yesterday, I noticed another charge on our credit card bill from December 13th for Baggar Dave's- we haven't been there in over a month. Luckily my credit card company is handling it and issuing new cards, but this is just too odd to be coincidence and our friends that used to dine with us here have also stopped coming due to their own credit card fraud at this place. So - while the beer is good, it's just not worth it for mediocre burgers and potential identity theft. If you do go - pay cash. Don't give your credit card to anyone holding a PDA device.

Comparable to a five guys, and the burger is pretty good. The fries and sauces are awesome. The prices are a little high for being a variation of fast food. Also I gave it three stars because the soon as my burger got cold, the meat tasted very weird. I've only had carry out from here so when I go there to eat I will update my review.

Had the California BLT carry out today.Service was very prompt and this BLT was delicious! I have come to expect fatty bacon when I order a BLT...and always inspect and pick apart the meat from the fat, not the case with this sandwich! Very meaty Applewood smoked bacon very little fat great flavor! The only complaint I have is that the sandwich was not cut in half for easier consumption.I will order it that way next time. Restaurant was very clean and tidy. Staff was friendly. Will definitely come back again.

Don't believe the hype. The turkey chili is REALLY good, though!

Bagger Dave's is an average burger spot. Think of it as a more expensive Five Guys with more choices for toppings that they charge you for. I ordered the create your own beef burger on a honey wheat bun with mild cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, sautéed mushrooms and onions. The beef was bland, like they don't season it and hope all the other things you put on it will make up for the lack of flavor. It was ok but could have been way better. The service was great and since this was my first time here and I was ordering carry out the waitress was very helpful. From what I could see of the inside it looks like it might be an ok place to watch a game.

We were going to Steve's Deli and saw this place, thought we would give it a try... Unfortunately, should have gone to Steve's. My son and I had the build your own burgers which had very DRY hamburger patties. The toppings were sparse and all in all the burgers were mediocre at best. Had some fries too which were very greasy and limp. OK atmosphere although empty while we were there. We wont be back.

I don't get all the new-fangled burger joints these days. They're a notch above fast food (so is the price), but they're dripping with that clear grease that is known to kill you young. This place is like that. The staff was nice, the room was clean. But the burger is much like any at this level. It was an unseasoned, greasy meat-wad. It was good, but not delicious. And, to me, to be worth the gazillion calories and artery strangulation by grease, it should be really exceptional...it just wasn't. It was just ok. Save $10 for a so-so burger, buy good meat from a local butcher and make one at home...no one can compete with that, so far.

Sad actually. Great location, good looking interior, could be nice when it warms up with the big rolling door/windows. Burger totally sucked. I ordered a single patty versus two, which creates a too much bun situation. Single burger was dry and flavorless. Worse than fast food. I would take a Culvers burger any day over this and they make 5 guys look like gourmet. I hope they can make some attempt to improve things but are probably dictated by franchise set up. Too bad, could have been a nice hang out.

Very cool decor and bar w/great TVs everywhere. Expected a fun time and was looking to these "famous" burgers. Waiter told us that each burger had two patties (unless you wanted the lean version). I was concerned that I'd be stuffed eating such a big burger, but I thought "dinner be damned--let's eat a big lunch!". Should have been tipped off when they did not ask how we wanted our burgers cooked. When they arrived, I was shocked that the patties were straight out of McDonald's -- this is not an exaggeration. If you took a regular McD patty and put it on a huge bun w/a long list of custom toppings -- you would have achieved the same level of "fame" as Bagger Dave's. It's a real shame as the setting would be a great spot to hang out, have a beer, watch a game and have a good burger. They should spend less time making their own pop and learn how to make a reasonable burger. It's not that the burgers were not prepared well, this is just how they are made. I'm guessing this spot will be vacant within 6 months, the rent has gotta be pretty high.

Choice of toppings on a burger does not make it a premium burger. The burger itself was still a round preformed disc. The fries were cold and extra pickle on my burger translated to 2 whopping pickles slices. Requested onion was also minimal. The menu cost structure is built to add 50 cents here and there. So the 8 dollar burger unconsciously costs 10-12 when finished designing, which I avoided. Bottom-line over-priced for average burgers. On plus side, some decent beer on draft.

Liked the Novi location, so we were excited for one to open by our home. Unfortunately 3 out of 5 visits have been disappointing...from incorrect orders, to burnt fries to really mediocre service. On the plus side they serve Short's Beer. Much better choices in the Bloomfield area....

Ok, so I tend to rate places on a sliding scale. I am not going to compare Bagger Dave's to Gastronomy. This is just a burger joint. This is also not a great burger joint. Bagger Dave's is nothing super special. However, I have had two quick bites here, and have enjoyed both. I won't eat ground beef from most places, so the actual burgers are not an option for me. I did have the turkey chili and the turkey sloppy joe. Both were not bad, but not something I will like, crave. Overall, it's a clean place, decent service, open later than the other food choices in the area, and somewhere I will probably come again if Im super hungry. In addition, they do serve liquor, craft beers, and the prices are very low.

Burgers over done. Bread too big for burger size. Waiter said it would be the best burger I ever had. He was wrong. Won't be going back as there are better burgers around town

I was excited that a new restaurant was opening in the neighborhood. Went with a friend and we both ordered a small burger and fries. Fortunately for me I ordered grey pompon on the burger so I got a bit of flavor. I had grilled onions, pickles and cheese but all I tasted was the mustard. I have to wonder if there was actual meat on the bun. I am not a big eater but the small was ( gulp ) really small, Less than McDonalds Happy Meal Small. Several days later my friend brought up the tasteless burger and the cost of the meal (20.00) for two burgers and two small terrible fries. We agreed that we will not return. If you are into the taste of cardboard you may like it. McDonalds is better and Hogan's is across the street and they have a good burger as well. Can't see this making it. Terrible food and devoid of charm.

Location is less than a mile from house- comfort zone* We remodeled out kitchen - no kitchen for 7 months - chose to eat at Bagger Daves' at least twice weekly - a couple of nice and competent waitresses, and some really dumb give a hoot ones - especially the big dumb one - seriously brain damaged. The food is consistently bland, or bad , unimaginitive and expensive- This place is a Test Kitchen - they will admit that - so they try things out - or dont try at all. Craft beers every third Thursday a decent deal- this place reaks of lack of professional management - its just plain bad , poorly run - fries are only item that are good - still amazed it stays open - evidence of the need for restaurants in the area - i went back for 7 motnhs becasue it ws close - moist people dining there would agree.

My girl and I came to the Bagger Dave's for their Yelp event last week. We found the service to be super friendly...the bartenders, our waitress and the manager were all really very kind to us! I haven't been to Dave's in a while and I haven't been to this location before but it was well done. The event offered a turkey burger, sides and a soda so I tried the Fiery Bleu Buffalo Burger and she had the Santa Fe Chipotle and we shared halves. We also each tried a side of mac n' cheese...the Twisted mac and their Smokin' Hot mac n' cheese were both stellar. We opted in on beer rather than the complimentary sodas since they usually have a nice selection on tap. The burgers were both really nice but we preferred the Fiery Bleu over the Santa Fe. It was a little more flavorful offering some nice spiciness. The turkey burger themselves were both delicious though. The mac n' cheeses were also really good but the Smokin' was loaded with good stuff whereas the Twisted was really cheesy and had a great crumb topping but was a little less exciting. We took an order of cheese fries home to snack on which put us over the edge but they were tasty. The manager was nice enough to comp those for us too which was appreciated but they treated us so well we would've been happy to have paid for them. It was a great event and the food and service were all wonderful per usual when Annette's running the show. Thanks again Annette for setting this up, and to Bagger Dave's for a really nice evening!

We came for the Yelp event. I've never been to this location before but I think it's one of the best. Super clean and new looking. Our waitress Alesia was absolutely fantastic. She knew when to refill everything and check on us but didn't hover. She was super friendly and did her job really well. The food was good too. The mac and cheese was my favorite, it was really creamy under the crust. I wasn't a huge fan of the amount of crust on it, but that could be because I"m not a fan of crumbles or toppings on pasta. Just give me those noodles! The turkey burger was also good, I just wish the meat was seasoned a bit more. Under the delicious toppings of chipole sauce, cheese and quac, it was a little bland. The sweet potato chips were yummy and the fries were good too. I will definitely be back to this location.

I keep going back and it keeps getting worse. The last time we were there, I noted that they've upgraded their order taking system (each waitress has a handheld thingy). How about making better food? It is just bad.

Came here last night after seeing a film at the Maple Theater because we were craving burgers. This was my first time at a Bagger Dave's, and I would definitely come again. Our server was just the nicest guy. My mom was having trouble deciding on a beer, and he was so helpful and got her samples of different ones. He was very patient and probably deserves a raise! Our food was pretty good as well. Everyone else loved their burgers, but I did have a problem with mine. I ordered pico de gallo on my burger, but they put it on the bottom, under the chicken, and it made the bottom bun totally soggy. However, I just took the bottom part off, and it was delicious. I didn't really mind it very much. I was so full afterwards that it was probably better that I didn't have that extra bread! :) The fries were great, too. Everyone was very satisfied!

If it's great hamburgers, beer and other bar food you crave, you really ought to go visit BAGGER DAVE! If it's excellent service, efficiency, and organization, you prefer, pick up your date and head elsewhere with her! Plagued recently by staffing problems, Bagger Dave's has refused a reservation and/or call ahead for my party of eight twice already. in the past month At least they were honest in telling me they lacked the wait staff and kitchen staff to guarantee our satisfaction, but this is unacceptable in a location like the corner of Maple and Telegraph where the pace is robust but the service is a bust! With so many people out of work, one would think they could creativity find warm bodies and teach them to serve and cook, even with a modicum of experience! Even if you have the patience of a Saint, it is still very disturbing to wait a half hour - or more - for a burger and fries. My wife and I also went there recently, and that was our fate for just TWO of us. Imagine if we had been a part of FOUR! Oy! Bagger, you food is excellent - when we can get it! Get your house in order and pump it our more quickly. Then you will have scored a FOUR bagger!

I want to like it here so badly because it is close to my house and has late hours. But, alas, while the décor is clean and trendy, the burger is just fair. The prices are on the higher end, but they do have a bar. I want it to succeed, so I come back, but so does the disappointment.

We have been to the Bagger Dave's in Novi, it's a small chain, from the sme group that did/does Buffalo Wild Wings. This is a relatively new location in a strip mall that has been in flux, we originally went to Trader Joe's and stayed for lunch. This is a smallish place, with a young wait staff. Dine in for take out. It's a step over fast food, but you pay for it. The focus is on burgers, either create your own, or select one of their designer option. I've always liked the train wreck burger because it has the fried egg, which great on. Burger - right up there with bacon and sauté onions. Their fries are good, skins on, with a couple of other options.

Bad food no matter what I order especially the burgers which is sad considering it's a burger joint. From the meat to the ingredients it just plain sucks. Gave it three tries and that's more than it deserved!

Came here tonite not knowing a thing about the place. Our service was excellent first of all. Second, I liked the fact that they only have "craft" pop or soda...no Coke or Pepsi products. Their gingerale is homemade (I don't think by them) but I tried it with some vanilla ice cream which made it into a Boston Cooler. It was great! Then the Mac and Cheese...I would say good +. Not the best I've ever had but pretty good. The hamburgers are terrific...made with ground prime rib. The bun was fresh and warm and all toppings were fresh and good tasting. Their sauces are good as well. Zip sauce and the honey-cinnamon especially good. My favorite surprise were the french fries. They seriously taste like I made them at home not like they were made in a restaurant. Not greasy either. The next surprise were the Sweet Potato Chips. Nice and crispy and not greasy. (Here's where you would want the honey-cinnamon dipping sauce.) Shared a Brownie Sundae for dessert and boy oh boy what a treat. The brownie was so light and fluffy while still being rich and chocolatey. They add a bit of caramel sauce with the chocolate sauce and its darned good! I am usually dying of thirst about an hour or two after eating a hamburger in a restaurant but I am not at all which leads me to think I wasn't sodium'ed to death. All in all a good meal. I would go back.

First time dining there. The waitress started out by saying I could have whatever items I wanted on my burger. I told her what I wanted but when I got it, it had catsup on it, which I hadn't ordered and I don't like, so I sent it back. The new burger was not made to order either, nothing but tomato was added to it; plus, the meat was tough. I told her about the missing items, had to wait for the items to be prepared, and by then, the burger was getting cold. My husband was almost finished eating by then. No apology, in fact the waitress was argumentative. Not returning, can get better customer service and a juicier burger at Smashburger.

Went here and walked out after waiting for an hour and a half for our food which still hadn't came out. They gave us a $25 gift card for our inconvenience which is pointless since I'll never go back so I left it on the table. This place is less than a mile from my house and would like it to be a regular stop for me but sorry, you blew it. My time is not worth a $25 gift card. To make things worse a kid pulled the fire alarm during this ridiculous endeavor which rang for 15 minutes. Hey Bagger Dave, thanks for killing an hour and a half of my life I'll never get back. P.S. I still haven't event eaten dinner!

Very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. Despite previous reviews, I tried Bagger Dave's yesterday and thought it was great. I ordered the prime rib burger with blue cheese and green olives and also splurged and tried the fries. I was pleased that the fries were fresh, real potatoes and the burger was great. Perhaps the bad reviews flipped this place around. Compared to the $10 salad I typically get next door at Steve's, I thought this was a nice change and affordable. I will bring my kids. Thanks!

I dig Bagger Dave's in general and this locations is pretty great. First off, the staff is fantastic. Everyone from the hostess, to the bussers, to the amazing waitstaff. It's impossible for anyone to be nicer. The space is clean and has that warm, wooden decor that most of the Bagger Dave location's have. Look up and you'll see the fun train chugging along around the ceiling. Pretty cool! The menu has a variety of burgers and other comfort foods. I've only had the turkey burgers but I'm a big fan of the Santa Fe Chipotle (chipotle sauce, guacamole, romaine, pepper jack cheese, and tomato on a toasted buffalo spice bun). For sides I love both the french fries and the sweet potato chips. The dipping sauces for both are particularly awesome and you can get them both on a burger or on the side for your fries (I recommend this method). Oh, and the sweet potatoes come with a gooey, delicious cinnamon concoction and it's fab. Other things worth noting: - local beers are readily on tap. - they have a gluten free menu - they also have sandwiches and a creamy, goeey mac and cheese if you're not into burgers - they make their own craft sodas and have a mystery soda that I've seen vary from blueberry pomegranate to green apple. - desserts! I'm partial to the brownie sundae. But beware--it's HUGE. Worth splitting. Yes, this a local chain I can get behind. And a fab location that's great proximity to the movie theatre around the corner. Perfect for a date night!

I decided to try this place for a Tuesday lunch, the staff is very friendly. I was greeted immediately and able to place my order for a chipotle turkey burger rather quickly. The water was clean and fresh tasting... The turkey burger was interesting. By this I mean it had good flavor but must be a microwaved or reheated patty because it was not hot and my food came out within five minutes. The interesting thing was the paper that separates pieces of cheese was also included in my burger. It provided the interesting texture. :). I also ordered some sweet potato chips minus whatever cinnamon sauce they offered. The chips were super tasty. I showed this to the waitress when she asked me how things were. I needed to go so I do not have time for any remake but it is nice that she cared to tell the cook.

This place opened right near where I live and we drove by it in the parking lot, saying "we have to try that place." But it wasn't until a Yelp event that we actually made it through the door. Our friendly waitperson suggested that we try their specialties which included a Turkey Burger and Mac-n-Cheese. We both went for the Mac-n-Cheese, but since we had just had turkey a few times over for Thanksgiving, we both went with one of the combination Beef Burgers. And we also tried their specialty soft drink beverages. Mine was the diet cola and it was quite good. The burgers, although only available medium and beyond medium, were delicious. The Mac-n-Cheese was nice and crusty on top and served bubbly hot. The service was spectacular. The servers couldn't do enough for us and kept the drinks full. My only negative comment is that the burgers can only be ordered medium or cooked even more. Any restaurant that has trusted purveyors should be able to offer burgers raw if a customer wants them that way. And if a restaurant does not trust their purveyors, and has to incinerate their burgers to keep the customers from getting sick, they should find other purveyors, or customers should find other more accommodating restaurants. I like my burgers medium rare to rare. Being forced to have a medium or a medium-well cooked burger is a real put off for me. This was our First Bagger Dave's experience and we will likely go back. The food, the service and the menu choices were top notch. Prices were what we expected, although this Yelp event was totally free. If they ever move to make burgers as the customer orders them, we will certainly want to go back.

Food is decent!! Burgers came out cold. I hear the salads are good. I LOVED the milkshakes they were TO DIE FOR. Overall I would go there again but it is not my first choice on places to eat.
